[The King's Woman]

[Episode 25]

Useless scum!

You couldn't even keep an eye on my concubine!

Should anything happen to her, I'll have you all torn into pieces!

Your Grace, please calm down!

This is my fault.

I failed to look after Madam.

It has nothing to do with the other servants.

Please punish me, Your Grace.

Miss Qing, His Grace hasn't even said a word to you yet.

Yet you're already admitting your mistake?

Could it be that you're guilty?

Or did Madam Li tell you to say so?

Your Grace, Madam Li left the palace unauthorized last time.

We can't say for sure that she didn't do it again.

Perhaps, she has left the palace with her Senior Han for some fun?

In my opinion, we should have these lowly servants imprisoned

and thoroughly interrogated.

Your Grace.

- Your Grace. - Your Grace.

When Guard Han and I heard that Madam Li is missing

we made our way over right away.

- Miss Qing. - Yes!

When you entered the room, was the blanket already on the floor?

Yes, I haven't touched anything.

Your Grace, compared to the last time Madam left the palace

I really didn't notice anything this time.

Your Grace, my mentor left this short sword to Madam Li.

If Madam Li had left the palace on her own

she would've definitely taken this with her.

I know about this sword.

I don't believe that she would've left without saying a word.

I dare to vouch with my life that Madam Li was abducted by villains.

Your Grace, please allow me to leave the palace to investigate.

Who could possibly enter the palace so easily and abduct Madam?

This person entered the palace so easily and even abducted Madam Li

who is skilled in martial arts.

It means that he must be a skilled professional fighter.

Your Grace, if this person moves quickly, he can take Madam out of Qin in two days.

Guard Han, have you not come to a conclusion too soon?

Your Grace, it may not be as Guard Han says.

Li Zhong, take 2,000 soldiers of Tiger Valor Army

to search the city immediately.

Then send out 3,000 soldiers to search outside the city.

- Yes! - Han Shen.

I agree to have you leave the palace to search for her

but you must report back once you have any news.

Yes!

I'd like to see who dares to be so bold as to steal my concubine.

Guard Han.

Crown Prince.

What is going on in the palace?

Why are so many soldiers of Tiger Valor Army leaving the palace?

Madam Li is missing.

What?

We suspect that she's been abducted by villains.

I'm leaving the palace to investigate.

Crown Prince, time is ticking. I have to go.

Hold on.

This is my token.

Bring this with you and look for someone in Anyi.

He might be of some help to you.

Who is he?

My strategist, Mister Tian Guang.

Thank you, Your Highness.

This Huaibei orange tastes all right.

But it still can't be compared to Chu State's Yunmeng orange.

Try one.

Shang Yi...

The harem is just like this orange.

Once you pick out the bitter seeds...

Then all that's left is an abundance of sweet and delicious juice for me.

Madam, you're right.

The harem is a mess now that Madam Li is missing.

It has caused a great disturbance.

She's just a bothersome seed.

Without Madam Li, it's so much quieter here in Zhaode Palace!

[Hostage Prince of Yan's Manor]

Crown Prince.

What have you found out?

I've already sent out our informants in Qin State

but none of them discovered anything.

Not to mention that Tiger Valor Army is searching everywhere in Qin State.

If it were a discreet professional fighter

Madam Li might have already been taken out of Qin State.

Who would want to harm Madam Li?

They even hired such a skilled professional fighter.

That means it was all premeditated.

Forgive me for saying this.

Crown Prince, you're so concerned about Madam Li.

It isn't because it's related to Qin State's politics, is it?

You even lent your personal white tallow jade pendant

to Guard Han.

My concern for Madam Li is indeed out of personal interest.

I just hope she's safe.

Mister Tian Guang!

Mister Tian Guang!

Young Warrior Jing!

What happened?

Lan is injured. I have to treat her wound.

- Please bring me the medication. - Yes.

- Hurry. - Yes.

Mister Tian Guang.

Young Warrior Jing, take a seat.

Young Warrior Jing, how is Miss Lan?

I've already applied the medication.

She should be all right after a doctor sees to the wound in a few days.

That's good to hear.

Here, have some food.

Yes.

Young Warrior Jing.

I haven't seen you for some time.

I notice quite a few changes.

Has anything happened?

Mister Tian Guang, it's all because you looked after me all these years

that with my humble talent

I finally mastered the swordsmanship Mentor left to me.

I have not let him down.

You mean you have mastered Swan Swordsmanship?

I haven't exactly mastered it.

It's just that I've learned it.

That's great!

I'm truly happy for Warrior Gongsun.

If your Junior Li knew of this...

I've said too much.

Mister Tian Guang?

Mister Tian Guang!

Senior Han?

Mister Tian Guang!

Young Warrior Han?

- Mister Tian Guang. - Young Warrior Han.

Is it something urgent?

My junior, Li is missing.

There's no sign to indicate that she left the palace.

I suspect she was abducted by villains.

Miss Gongsun was abducted?

The king specially allowed me to investigate outside the palace.

This is a token the Crown Prince told me to show you.

He said that you might be able to offer some assistance.

It seems that the Crown Prince holds Miss Gongsun in very high regard.

Even if the Crown Prince hadn't sent you here

I would still offer you my assistance.

Li has been in the palace for years.

She couldn't have offended anyone in the fighting world.

I'm worried that it's related to the power struggle within the palace.

Someone used professional fighters to harm Li.

If it's a professional fighter, it won't be hard to track him down.

But if it's related to power struggle within the palace

I worry that Miss Gongsun's life might be in danger.

There's no time to lose.

I'll contact a few of my informants immediately.

I'll inform you right away once I get any news.

Thank you, Mister Tian!

Does the king of Qin need you to search for his missing woman?

Junior Jing?

Young Warrior Han, I have good news to share with you!

Your junior has already mastered Swan Swordsmanship!

My old friend, Warrior Gongsun, can finally rest in peace now.

I won't stay to chat. I'll go write a few letters.

You can both have a chat.

Junior Jing, you've mastered Swan Swordsmanship?

Warrior Han.

No... I should address you as Guard Han now.

You're now the Qin King's number one minion.

You still need his decree to leave the palace.

Couldn't the king of Qin find his missing concubine

using a few thousand men of his Black Army?

Junior Jing.

Junior Li has been abducted by some unknown villain

who may want to kill her.

Aren't you worried?

That woman... has nothing to do with me anymore.

You're still so stubborn.

Junior Jing, if Li hadn't negotiated terms with the Qin King

do you think you would've survived till today?

If it weren't for the sake of your training

would she have had to enter the palace?

Exactly! She sacrificed herself.

She even lovingly had a child with the Qin king!

What a great sacrifice!

You--

With Senior Jing's temper

if he knew that his child is still in the palace of Qin

he would surely risk his life to rescue his child.

We both know how dangerous it is for anyone to sneak into the palace.

Not to mention rescuing a child!

If we can hold him back from doing so...

He won't be able to see his child...

Wouldn't that put him in great agony?

You don't even know what you're talking about.

Jing Ke, I don't care what you become.

You have to believe that all Li did was for your sake!

Should anything happen to her this time

not only will I never forgive you... but you'll also regret it for life!

Let Mister Tian Guang know that I'll be waiting for him at the Anyi Inn.

I take my leave.

Are you unwell?

I'm much better now.

Don't worry about me.

Just now...

You were badly wounded, and I had to apply the medication so--

I...

I understand.

Thank you.

Just now... I overheard what you said to Brother Han.

Are you really not going to rescue Sister Li?

I know I'm in no place to tell you to do otherwise.

But when Sister Li left the palace last time, I could feel that

although you two had been miles apart, she never stopped caring for you.

Perhaps she really does have her reasons.

Like Brother Han said, she is still your junior after all.

Are there any clues?

The Tiger Valor Army that I sent out has been searching in the suburbs

of Xianyang for two days without any rest.

But... they haven't found a trace.

My grandfather's short sword?

It was yours in the first place.

I'm just returning it to its owner.

You can carry this on you... For self-defense.

Your Grace...

By returning this sword to me, do you mean you trust me completely?

Of course.

Li... Where exactly are you?

Madam Li...

You are indeed good-looking.

But why don't I find you to be some divine beauty?

You charmed the king of Qin; he's head over heels in love with you.

Wench.

Who ordered you to do this?

I've never meddled in politics in the palace of Qin.

I'm just an acquaintance from a subjugated state.

Why would you capture me?

Madam Li...

You're so simple-minded.

It's exactly because you don't side with anyone

and yet His Grace only favors you.

Haven't you considered that if no one wishes to win you over

then they'd just want to get rid of you?

Now that Consort Li can't even fend for herself

I reckon that she won't be able to help Han Fei.

Madam.

The plan you thought of is simply too brilliant.

Consort Li has always been arrogant and defiant.

She cares for nothing and has left the palace before.

Now that she has gone missing again

everyone will think that she must have left on her own again.

Even if Han Shen and Li Zhong spoke up for her

His Grace can't be sure that she was abducted.

The skilled fighters I sent out will leave no traces behind.

When the time comes, we can just say...

That she contracted some disease or that she suddenly died.

It can't even be investigated further.

Even if His Grace can't bear to see her dead

all he can do is to deem it an unfortunate accident.

Madam, this plan of yours is really brilliant.

To die in the wilderness...

It suits that wild girl perfectly.

Since she's a savage, she even left behind her bastard in the palace.

Madam, would you like to think of how to deal with him?

There's no need to rush.

A prince without a mother already has his wings snapped.

We have all the time in the world to tackle him.

I was too kind in the past.

I kept thinking that although His Grace dotes on Consort Li

he'd at least still show the other concubines some affection.

But now I've realized that His Grace doesn't care about me at all.

As the princess of Chu, who married as far from home as Qin State

I have been treated with such indifference.

It's all because of Consort Li.

Today...

I will have her know the price she must pay for that.

Gongsun Li, who knew that you'd one day end up in my hands?

Xia Hou Yang?

How can you benefit from this?

The world is now in chaos.

The situation in every state is unpredictable.

Yet Gongsun Yu was given the undeserved title of Wey State's Commander-in-Chief.

So why can't I serve under the most powerful Qin State

for my Red Crown Sect's benefit?

You dare to compare yourself to my grandfather?

- You're way beneath him. - You--

If it weren't that Master wants you dead, I find it quite a pity to kill you!

Perhaps, if I keep you alive, I might be able to lure Jing Ke out.

Who ordered you to do this?

Madam Li, who do you help, and who do you hinder?

It's such a simple notion. Can't you figure it out?

Li Si?

Anyway, someone wants you to vanish from the palace of Qin!

Madam... As for what we agreed on previously...

Master Li, rest assured.

I've already made the arrangements.

Once we've tackled Lord Changping

Grand Empress Dowager will immediately recommend Master Li to His Grace.

You'll soon become the prime minister of Great Qin.

Thank you, Madam. I take my leave.

Madam, I have a question for you.

Ask away.

Madam, you've taken a harsh approach to take out Madam Li.

Is it because His Grace only favors Madam Li

or because Madam Li has been too cocky?

Right. Madam, you've already put up with so much from her.

Yet she disrespected you again and again.

Although you're both Madams of the first rank

in terms of status, she's nothing compared to you.

Madam Li only got away with stirring up trouble

because His Grace pampers her.

She even got away without being punished at all.

If it were someone else

she'd have been punished according to the regulations.

What annoys me the most is that she already has His Grace's love

and yet she still holds on to Guard Han.

She toys with both men...

I told you to find out what Guard Han has been doing lately.

Have you asked around?

Madam, since Madam Li went missing

Guard Han anxiously left the palace in search of Madam Li.

That Han Shen really infuriates me!

Don't be angry, Madam.

Forget it.

That woman is going to die out in the wilderness.

Let's see if her senior can protect her.

Madam, aren't you worried that Guard Han will direct his rage at you

for taking such ruthless measures to get rid of Madam Li?

If neither of us reveals a word, and Master Li Si also remains quiet

how would he find out?

She would be dead by then.

If Han Shen truly loves her so much

isn't it even better if he takes his own life?

Madam, you're right.

But what if Guard Han isn't obsessed enough to kill himself?

That's all right.

I have ways to deal with him.

I definitely won't let him off.

I definitely won't.

We're leaving.

- Take care. - Sure.

Eat up.

Let's drink.

Why did Mentor capture Gongsun Li, but not kill her as Master instructed?

Mentor is keeping that little wench alive to lure Jing Ke out

to force him to hand over the Swan Swordsmanship manual.

Once Mentor has the sword manual

he'll take out all of Gongsun Yu's disciples, including the eldest.

Here. let's drink.

Speak! Where's Gongsun Li?

Who are you?

I'm Han Shen, the eldest disciple of the Gongsun Yu you spoke of.

You dare to come here with such skills?

You've really disgraced the Gongsun family.

Brothers, attack!

Junior Jing.

I'll give you a chance.

Tell me where Gongsun Li is and I'll spare you.

- Speak! - Hold on.

I have the map...

Watch out!

Junior Jing!

Beware of ambush.

Bao Ye, are you too beat up to be scared

or are you really not scared to fight?

You know you can't defeat me, but here you are seeking your doom.

Jing Ke, don't think you're invincible

just because you learned a lame stance or two.

There's a lot more to this fighting world.

Don't underestimate Red Crown Sect.

We'll know if my skills are lame once we give it a try.

Speak.

Where's Gongsun Li?

Xian...

Xian...

- Xian... - Don't play games with me!

They are at Xian Xian Cottage.

It's five miles ahead from here.

- Let's go. - They're over there!

Junior Jing, go and save Li. I'll handle them!

[Xian Xian Cottage]

Jing Ke...

How well did I do, trapping you from both sides?

I should've known it was a trap.

You really are deeply devoted to Gongsun Li.

Who knew that however swift the Qin king's Tiger Valor Army may be

they aren't as quick as you are.

I dare you to let go of me.

We'll have a proper fight.

Swan Swordsmanship is just a brilliant assassination technique.

Even if I agree to fight with you, it can't be regarded as a fair fight.

Do you think I could bear to let go of the advantage that I already have?

What is it that you want?

What do I want?

Of course it's the Swan Swordsmanship that you have mastered!

You--

How is that possible?

I already locked your acupoint.

You shouldn't be able to wield your inner force. How is this possible?

Xia Hou Yang.

Take a good look at this.

You--

I had already noticed that something was amiss before I came in.

You've always liked to lock people's acupoints.

All I did was take some precautions.

Very good!

That foolish Gongsun Yu did mentor a smart disciple.

You're not to insult my mentor!

Your mentor was a self-righteous and dumb, stubborn mule!

You're asking for your own doom!

Attack!

- Junior Li. - Senior Jing?

Let's go!

- Go after them quickly! - Yes!

Go after them!

Don't let them get away! Go after them!

- Quickly! - Hurry!

What are you looking for?

Attack!

You should thank your fellow disciples for the net.

Have fun.

Let us go!

Let us go!

Senior Jing, how did you know that there's a net here?

Let us go!

We should look for shelter.

Let us go!

Junior Jing might have already rescued Junior Li.

That's why these fellows from Red Crown Sect went after them.

I hope they're both fine.

Commander of Guards has arrived!

Li Zhong greets Your Grace!

Do you have any clues on Madam Li's disappearance?

Your Grace, Han Shen has reported back.

Madam Li's was spotted near Hangu Pass.

I've sent out Tiger Valor Army to search the area.

Li Zhong, make arrangements right away.

I'll search for her personally.

Yes, Your Grace!

Senior Jing...

Why did you come to rescue me?

Senior Han left the palace to search for you.

He came to Mister Tian Guang for help.

That's how I knew of it.

I see.

So...

What about Senior Han?

Where is he?

When we were attacked by those scoundrels from Red Crown Sect

Senior Han stayed behind so that I could go rescue you.

Then wouldn't he be in danger?

It's all right.

Honestly... If it weren't for Senior Han, I wouldn't have come to rescue you.

The king of Qin...

Does he treat you well?

Senior Jing... Have you mastered Swan Swordsmanship?

I noticed it just now.

I haven't exactly mastered it yet.

Lan stayed with me in Mount Song for half a month.

I had to learn the swordsmanship to get her out of there.

So Lan who accompanied you all along.

What a relief.

Lan is a lovely young lady.

I can tell she's very fond of you.

With her by your side...

It's definitely for the best.

She is a lovely young lady.

I'll cherish her.

If the both of you become a couple...

I'll be happy for you.

The rain seems to have stopped.

I'll take a look.

So be it.

I'm no longer fit to care about him.

It's better for him to hate me.

This way, he can move on with his life.

Senior Jing...

You and Lan must live happily.

[Preview]

Your Grace, look!

Stop!

Li!

Your Grace, I'm back.

Mister Han Fei, His Grace is here to see you!

Your Grace...

If... If you wish to unify all the states into one empire...

You must... rule by law.

Your Grace could then surpass the five kings before you...

And accomplish the feat of three kings...

I, Han Fei...

- Mister Han Fei! - Mister Han Fei!

Mister Han Fei!

If this letter is written by Mister Han Fei...

He wrote the king of Han a confidential letter.

Mister Han Fei would have written in the characters of Han.

Or would he have written in characters of Qin?

Well...

Or does Madam think that Mister Han Fei should write in characters of Chu?

How is that possible? How could it be in the characters of Chu?

Li Si.

Tell me.

Apart from you, who else in this palace would harm Mister Han Fei?
