When me and Tamisha
had that little debacle,

it felt like it was definitely
a setback for me,

because I've worked so hard
to not be that angry person.

It took me 10 steps back,

because I haven't been like that
in a very long time.

There was this one particular
lady named Ms. Kemp.

She started, like,
a little cheerleading group.

We didn't have no football team
or nothing like that,

but she gave the girls
something to do.

Dance, cheerleading,
whatever your talent is,

Ms. Kemp wanted
to bring it out of you.

I would always go to practice
with her and whatnot,

and my nickname was Booty.

I've seen it.

So she was like,
"Booty can flip."

When she figured out that
I could flip, I could split,

I could do all those things,

but no one had ever
allowed me to do it.

Mind you, I'm up there
just having fun,

not knowing
what the hell's going on.

My grandmother got wind

that I'm up here doing gay stuff
or whatever, whatever.

And she was like,
"No, boys don't do this

and boys don't do that."

Ms. Kemp was actually the one
who gave me my foundation

and let me know that
I was talented, you know?

I'm grateful for the lady
in my community

that took a chance on me.

That's why I became,
