Love Unexpected

Episode 9

That's impossible.

Such a weird term can be from a weirdo like you.

Wu Dong De couldn't have thought of it. He only know how to spend money.

How could Wu Dong De know that Mei Hua Li likes to sing?

Could information have been leaked?

That's not it either.

The only ones who knew were you, me and Director Li.

That right, Ke Si Yi was also there.

It was all thanks to you this time. You helped me a lot.

Ke Si Yi, let me know whatever gift you want or give me your card account number

so I can express my gratitude.

I don't need that. I only did it for Mad Tiger.

Timing and Subtitles brought to you by The Unexpected Lovers @ Viki

Lawyer Zhou,

You betrayed us.

W-what do you mean?

Are you Wu Dong De's business spy?

- Lisa. - Chairman Xu.

Where's Ke Si Yi?

Ke Si Yi just left.

Chairman Xu, I think Lawyer Zhou followed her.

I got it.

What's a business spy?

Don't be like this, Lawyer Zhou.

Lawyer Zhou.

Don't scare her.

Ke Si Yi doesn't have any motive to leak any information.

Plus, I've investigated it.

Wu Dong De created a professional business investigation team.

Even if he couldn't think of it,

the professional investigation team

has the capability of analyzing Mei Hua Lu's hobbies.

You trust her this much?

Yes.

I trust her,

so don't make things hard for her.

Ke Si Yi, when you work for Chairman Xu,

it's easy to be tempted by money to betray him.

You must not be blinded by money.

If I find out that you betrayed Chariman Xu,

I will be sure to put you in jail.

You got scared, right? I was just joking!

As long as Chairman Xu trusts you, then I, Zhou Yan Xin, also trust you.

Chairman Xu, Lawyer Zhou, things are bad!

I don't know who let the new out, but it's every online

that own writer isn't renewing his contract with us.

Besides, they're exaggerating it a lot.

They also say that Mei Hua Lu left because he couldn't stand how oppressive Chairman Xu is.

They're also saying...

- They're also saying— - Saying what?

They also said that under Chairman Xu's inhuman leadership, Hugo Media

will definitely lose because of the lack of public appeal.

Furthermore, there are shareholders who want to hold a shareholders' meeting now.

Who else could've leaked the news?

It looks like Wu Dong De was prepared to suppress me.

Business spy?

Did you misunderstand something Wu Dong? What I mean is

that this is all in exchange for a wish. I don't need your o help me find a job.

I just need you to protect Mad Tiger.

Ke Si Yi,

stay undercover around Xu Nuo

and leak his information to me.

As long as I can protect my position and utterly defeat Xu Nuo,

I guarantee I won't lay a finger on Mad Tiger.

All competition should be out in the open and fair.

Isn't being a business spy the same as faking it in the arena?

The arena is fair but reality isn't.

This doesn't count as you cheating. At most it's a justifiable defense.

I hate a fake fight.

I won't help you.

Remember, you must arrange the itinerary time well.

Go back to work.

Strange.

How come I can't feel any emotions?

Forget it. Everything should be okay.

Brother Zhi Xiao,

how come you're here?

I need to go ask Chairman Xu why he rejected my variety show.

Don't. Don't go right now.

He has a bunch of annoying stuff to deal with today already. Don't bother him right now.

Bother him? Why are you still being considerate of him?

I'm not.

I'm worried you're unhappy and things will get worse.

Go when he's in a better mood.

I can't wait.

Brother Zhi Xiao!

Why are you here?

Meeting Chairman Xu requires an appointment.

Have you made an appointment?

Sorry, I didn't.

However, I want to say a few word to Chairman Xu.

Lawyer Zhou,

go out first.

Sit.

No need, Chairman Xu.

I know what you're here to discuss with me.

Okay, I'll give you 3 minutes right now.

I hope your elaboration

can move me.

Brother Zhi Xiao,

hurry up and speak. The opportunity will be gone when the sand finishes.

According to my knowledge, all female fighters

face all sorts of life challenges.

However, they were able to find their independence and confidence through fighting.

This variety show not only offers market value,

but more so female empowerment and breaks the traditional restraints on women.

This will empower the new generation of women.

You have strategy and a big vision, I didn't misjudge you.

However, I still don't accept this variety show.

Lawyer Zhou.

Lawyer Zhou.

What is it now?

Two directors came saying they're here to hold Chairman Xu accountable.

I've already settled them down at the conference room.

What is the reason why you don't agree?

Is it just because you don't like MMA?

If that's the case,

then I think the news regarding Chairman Xu

is all very true.

An intolerant leader and business

cannot make the business flourish.

It will only make the future more and more narrow.

Chairman Xu, he doesn't mean that.

Of course, I know what he means.

Producer Liang,

let me tell you.

I also don't like Mei Hua Lu's online novels.

However, why did I do everything I could to keep him?

Because he's useful for the company.

Just like I don't like you, but because you're capable, talented,

and are also a key person at the video company.

So I not only didn't fire you,

I even gave you superior development space.

So the reason you don't agree

is because you think female fighters are useless to the company?

Not only useless but also wasting

time, money, and manpower.

Producer Liang, from what I can see,

allowing fighters to be like singers

to win through a tiers of competitions

is thoroughly boring.

Is it any different than other fighting competitions?

Then why should I do it?

Alright, I got it.

I have another meeting so I won't entertain you.

Ke Si Yi, help me see him out.

Brother Zhi Xiao.

Brother Zhi Xiao, Chairman Xu always speaks that way.

He doesn't mean to be that harsh.

He doesn't know that people will get hurt from the words he says.

I know. I just blame myself for not having the ability

to really protect you.

No.

Anyway, he already said his rejection isn't because he doesn't like fighting.

Then let's just think of another way

and see how we can convince him.

Okay. I'll listen to you.

You're always the most resilient one.

As long as you are here, I have faith.

Mad Tiger attitude, never give up!

Fighting! Fighting.

The since it's like this, I'll get straight to the point.

Zhou—

Xu Nuo, you need to know

Wu Dong De is sill

- Right now, many of the -Could there be an issue?

shareholders are his dad's old friends.

He can sway these shareholders at any time.

Just as you did to him,

proposing your dismissal.

I understand your points.

Mei Hua Lu being pried away was truly my mistake.

I will take all the responsibility.

I will also make sure the company

does not suffer any loss because of him.

The company will still exceed it's annual business quota.

If I cannot accomplish that,

I welcome the board of directors

to request my dismissal.

Since you've said this, then let's follow his plan.

Yes, that's the only option.

Fight! Young ladies. Free Fight Show

Boss, rearranged our program set up

and compared it with other fighting competitions.

There really isn't too much of a difference.

So I think Manager Xu made some sense.

How can we find our breakthrough point?

You're also part of the audience and you don't usually watch fights.

What would make you interested in our variety show?

People like me don't understand fighting.

Then the main thing to look at are the faces.

Right. Li Yun Zhu.

Li Yun Zhu?

Right! How come I didn't think about that?

The final goal of all female fighters

is to challenge Li Yun Zhu.

Using her reputation to increase viewership.

We can also increase viewer consistency

for our competition.

It might even produce a new fighting goddess.

The directors wouldn't really dismiss Xu Nuo, right?

Manager Xu.

How come you still aren't coming out?

Manager Xu.

If you don't answer, I'm going in.

Did you faint in there?

Manager Xu. Do you need me to go in?

I really am going in.

Manager Xu.

Manager Xu.

Manager Xu, are you in here?

I didn't see anything.

This is what seeing nothing looks like.

Manager Xu.

Manager Xu.

Manager Xu.

Stand still. Why are you coming in?

No.

I am here to thank you.

No need. You didn't even ask why I'm thanking you.

I don't care what reason. I don't need it.

I want to thank you for trusting me.

Even Lawyer Zhou started suspecting me, but you still trusted me.

It made me so sad.

Sad? Why? It wasn't really you, was it?

No.

That...

today during the directors meeting,

I felt you were angry

and the online new earlier was all attacking you.

So I was sad for you.

But I don't understand.

Didn't Lawyer Zhou say that Mei Hua Lu's departure wouldn't impact you guys?

First, I told you to browse the internet less and read more books.

All the news online can't affect me.

I do read books. I read "Believing Science" every night.

Second, the directors just came to show off.

It won't affect me. Don't worry.

But you can relax. Your pay will stay the same.

I'm not worrying about my pay. I'm worried about you.

I don't need you to worry.

Take care of yourself.

I have the ability to fix all problems.

Get out. I want to go to bed.

Now what?

Chairman Xu, you're actually very kind.

You have your own problems but you comfort me.

I think all those people are misunderstanding you.

How about we continue to do the brainwave psychotherapy.

- That way, as long as you recover — - Ke Si Yi.

Turn around.

>Brother Zhi Xiao, I just got to your company.

Where are you?

The contract you gave me last time is ready.

Okay.

What are you doing?

Zhi Xiao brother.

Let's go.

Let's go. We have a meeting.

Get rid of it.

What?

Here.

Don't you like to eat red velvet cake? This place's is really good.

Try some.

Coach said I'm supposed to gain muscle, I can't eat it.

A bit once in a while is fine.

I can't break my diet.

You know,

it's just one bite. Your coach won't know.

Here, one bite.

Is it good?

Hey. What are you looking at?

Producer Liang's new girlfriend.

Not bad.

He has good taste, she's much prettier than Ke Si Yi.

Her?

How can she be Liang Zhi Xiao's new girlfriend?

- She's what a lot of men dream of. - Do I have cream on my mouth?

Liang Zhi Xiao has such good luck.

What's wrong? Why do you seem so mad?

What's wrong with you

Zhi Xiao brother. Why did you come find me?

There is something I need your help with.

But I'm afraid you won't agree.

What? If I can help you, of course I will agree.

Let's wait for Ke Si Yi and we can discuss it together.

Si Yi.

Yun Zhu.

Ke Si Yi, don't you need to work?

It wasn't easy to get your job.

What happens in your boss finds out your skipping work and fires you?

He's not in the company.

Your coffee. Thank you.

You mean the girl with Liang Zhi Xiao is the girl you've been looking for?

Are you sure? Do you know who that is?

The one I have been trying to find.

We saw her competition at Mad Tiger Sports Club, the fighting goddess.

We met her a while back.

Are you sure you didn't see wrong?

I didn't. She was wearing that bracelet.

I saw it very clear. What's her name?

Li Yun Zhu.

Li Yun Zhu?

So it was her names that was carved on the bracelet.

Didn't you throw that bracelet into the wish fountain?

What if she picked it up?

No way.

This bracelet isn't worth anything. It clearly is made by hand.

If it was lost, no one would go find it. Unless she lost it herself.

Then why did you not just go in and ask?

You always told me her words helped you get through your hardest times.

If you really love her, it must be her. You won't lose to Liang Zhi Xiao.

It was such a good opportunity. Why didn't you go ask?

Did you see the way she looked at Liang Zhi Xiao?

If you saw then you would know.

Because Liang Zhi Xiao is there, she is very happy.

I don't want to ruin it.

What? You want me to attend a female fighting variety show?

Yun Zhu. I know your mainly focusing on training

and competing in international competitions.

But this is really important to me.

I hope that you can help me.

I'll try to limit your exertion.

I won't waste too much of your time or resources.

Ke Si Yi.

Do you think I should do it?

Yun Zhu. I also don't want

you to make any more sacrifices for Mad Tiger.

So if you don't want to,

you don't have to.

Si Yi. Zhi Xiao brother.

Thank you for always trying your best for Mad Tiger.

But it's fine. I'll think of something else.

Mad Tiger is my responsibility.

Okay. I agree.

But I have a condition.

What condition?

You have to do it too.

Me?

My dad doesn't even let me touch fighting, you know this. This requires me to go on TV.

I don't care.

Aside from you,

Mad Tiger doesn't have the skill to challenge me. I also can't respect them.

If your goal is to advertise Mad Tiger, unless you do it,

it won't have any meaning.

Ke Si Yi, didn't you say Mad Tiger is your responsibility?

Then you can't let me save it by myself, right?

Yun Zhu is right.

Li Wen and them aren't at Yun Zhu's level.

Their purpose of participating isn't to win, but to tell Mad Tiger's story.

If we want someone from Mad Tiger to progress to the end and fight with Yun Zhu,

only you have that ability.

But my dad.

How about we try to convince your dad.

I'll think about it.

We eat together everyday.

Should we advance our relationship?

What stage?

what I mean

male lawyer friend.

Whether it's lawyer

or boy friend.

I don't need it. Stop wasting your time.

Have you walked on a big bridge?

Have you walked on a big bright?

Yeah.

Were there guard rails?

Yeah.

Then, do you use the railing when walking on the bridge?

No.

Then does the railing have no purpose?

That's not it. Without the railing someone could fall off.

Look, if you don't use it, wouldn't you be wasting it?

It's you right?

Smart.

Although I'm not useful, you can't be without me.

Okay. I'll think about it.

When I need it, I'll contact you.

Let me ask you something. Li Yun Zhu was your ex-teammate, right?

Why are you mentioning her?

I want to have the ability to protect myself and those who are important to me.

I won't make the first attack.

That's why, once someone attacks first,

I want to have the ability to stand up for myself.

Protect yourself. Protect the ones around you.

Li Yun Zhu.

She seems to be with Liang Zhixiao.

What?

Why would they be together?

When? How come I don't know?

You know Liang Zhi Xiao too?

He's close with Li Yun Zhu.

He always look for Li Yun Zhu whenever she practiced.

How close are they?

They're childhood sweethearts and known each other for years.

Then Li Yun Zhi is Liang Zhi Xiao's current girlfriend

and Ke Si Yi is his ex-girlfriend.

Then Li Yun Zhu and Ke—

What do you mean?

You're using me as the Mad Tiger pretty girl information library now?

What? Are you trying to make a move on Li Yun Zhu

or Ke Si Yi?

I'm asking for a friend. Don't be mad.

Who's mad?

Li Wen, are you jealous? (T/N: direct translation is eating vinegar).

I'm eating soy sauce.

You are jealous.

You are jealous. Don't follow me.

Dad. Can I ask you something?

You say.

It's just I.

Um. You.

What's wrong? Is something wrong?

Or is work not going well?

I don't like this job.

- I want to fight. - Don't even think about it!

How many times have I told you?

Work hard and marry a good man and have kids.

Live you life and leave it like that.

Fighting, fighting.

Don't even think about it!

Dad.

Did you mention competing to coach again?

You know that coach doesn't like it. But you continue to bring it up.

Help me comfort him. I'm leaving.

This is the yogurt that coach gave you. Take it.

♫ I learn to love ♫

Ke Si Yi, you only delayed Xu Nuo

But I have a way to get rid of his plan to repurpose the sports club.

Helping me is the only way for you to save Mad Tiger.

When working for Chairman Xu, It's easy to be tempted by money

to betray Chairman Xu. You must not be tempted by money.

If I find out you betrayed Chairman Xu,

I'll send you to jail.

Aside from you, Mad Tiger

doesn't hav etc ability to challenge me. I also can't respect them.

If your purpose is to advertise Mad Tiger, unless

you represent Mad Tiger,

it wouldn't have any purpose.

Ke Si Yi, didn't you say Mad Tiger is your responsibility?

Then you can't let me save it on my own.

Don't even think about it.

How many times have I told you?

Work hard and marry a good man and have kids.

Just live you life well and leave it at that.

Fighting, fighting. Don't even think about touching it!

I'm taking this time to thank everyone. Thank you Chairman Wang for giving us thing opportunity.

I hope you partnership will be successful.

Next, from

here and here, and we'll sit there.

Right.

Chairman Xu. This is the first time I see you watching TV.

Why do you keep putting her on?

How is her skill in the fighting world?

Very good.

I feel like I can feel your feelings.

You are very happy.

Is it because

of Lin Yun Zhu?

Yes because I saw her.

So I'm happy.

Why?

You guys don't know each other, right?

Didn't you say you don't like women who fight?

Why did you suddenly become her fan?

Since we don't know each other

but from now on

to me, she is very important.

Then we thank all our friends. You've worked hard.

Did you not sleep well last night?

It's your fault.

What does it have to do with me?

What were you thinking about last night?

Your emotions were so varied.

From sad to happy, from hurt to excited.

I feel like I experienced every emotion.

It made me count 2,000 sheep before I could fall asleep.

Did you feel love?

What?

Didn't you say you could feel all my feelings last night?

I want to ask you if love was one of the emotions.

How would I know if you feel love?

You haven't loved before?

Didn't you love Liang Zhi Xiao? Don't you know what love feel like?

Have you loved before?

Forget it, I'm not going to discuss it.

Phone. What phone?

Your phone. What.

Give it to me.

Zhi Xiao brother.

Zhi Xiao brother?

Your ex boyfriend and you still call him Zhi Xiao brother?

So intimate.

Hold up.

Why are you using my phone to call him?

Si Yi

Morning, Si Yi.

Not morning and it's not Ke Si Yi. It's me, Xu Nuo.

Chairman Xu?

Why do you have Ke Si Yi's phone?

This is not important. What is important is

I've changed my mind about the fighting variety show.

Let's talk. Where are you?

I'm at the company.

I've already wrote the new show program.

If you're available, let's meet at the cafe in one hour.

Okay.

Yun Zhu.

Yun Zhu.

Zhi Xiao brother?

Did you finish making food?

Done.

Thank you Yun Zhu.

You helped me come up with ideas and stayed up with me.

Without you

I wouldn't have been able to make the program that fast.

Then I'm going back to rest.

Yun Zhu.

Do you have time later?

I want you to come with me to visit our Manager Xu.

Do I have to meet him?

Because your the king card for our variety show.

I want you to come with me to convince Chairman Xu.

I want him to know that Li Yun Zhu is already confirmed to sign the contract.

Brother Zhi Xiao, is this that important to you?

Okay. Then I'll go with you.

As long as I can help you, it's fine with me.

Thank you Yun Zhu. Once I finish with Manager Xu.

I will agree with whatever you say.

Really? Really.

Brother Zhi Xiao, I'm going to meet you with Chairman Xu.

Please speak carefully and don't reveal our relationship..

Liang Zhi Xiao.

What?

When he was dating, what kind of person was he?

What do you mean what kind of person he was?

Good person?

Why do you care about this?

I want to make sure he will make Li Yun Zhu happy.

Li Yun Zhi, Li Yun Zhu, that's all he talks about.

This situation is very complicated, I don't know how to explain it.

Boss. I was wrong. What I mean was

Brother Zhi Xiao is a gentle and kind person.

He knows how to be considerate to others.

That's good.

Since he's that good, why did you break up with him?

I also think you're pretty good, but does that mean I'm with you?

It's not our choice.

You really think I'm good?

What about compared to Liang Zhi Xiao?

Manager Xu. You are acting weird.

It seems like you changed.

Chairman Xu, why do I think you're so eager to meet Brother Zhi Xiao?

Because he's related to Li Yun Zhu.

Li Yun Zhu?

Hey. Manager Xu.

Hello fighting goddess, I'm Ke Si Yi.

I'm not sure if you still remember me, but I'm not Chairman Xu's assistant, Ke Si Yi.

I'm also your fan.

Hello. I am Li Yun Zhu.

Ke Siyi?

Manager Xu, let's sit and talk.

Your orange juice.

Manager Xu. Say soemthing.

Zhi Xiao brother. Why does he keep staring at me?

Manager Xu, let me introduce her. This is

Li Yun Zhu, 24 years old.

You started training at 12, won the national championship at 20,

Was once the top competitor at Mad Tiger.

Two months ago, you signed with Black Dragon and started MMA training

and are getting ready to cross boarders and compete with the USA.

Very nice to meet you. I'm Xu Nuo.

Hello. Li Yun Zhu.

Why happy and nervous?
