Aunt Xu

How are your legs? Any better?

I suffer from arthritis in my legs every now and then

Nothing serious

Thank you for your concern, Princess

I've told you so many times

Though mother and you are master and maid

You two are as close as sisters

Please don't call yourself maid in front of Awu from now on

OK, Your Highness

Have a seat please, aunt Xu

Aunt Xu

Have you noticed that

Jin'er has been unhappy ever since she came back?

She's like a different person

I think so too

Jin'er used to

be talkative before

Now she becomes so quiet

Why?

Do you feel worried that she's apart from you, Your Highness?

After the kidnap in Huizhou

She and I were departed

When we met again, things were different

Maybe

Even since Yuxiu was with me

I ignored her?

Don't worry, Your Highness

Maybe

She has gone through

something when you two were apart

Jin'er and I

are just like you and your mother

She has been by my side

taking care of me wholeheartedly

And she suffered a lot not before long

I will never forget

her kindness

She is of proper age now

I'll choose her a good husband

So she will have a warm home

Come in please

Soon it'll be winter

Soldiers' winter outfit

are almost ready. This way please.

And send them out

I've been so busy that

I barely have time to rest my foot

About this matter, I can bear witness for brother

Is that room taken?

This way

Your honor, what can I get for you?

What did the table next to us order?

The table next to you?

Quite expensive

Do I look poor to you?

What nonsense did I say?

Don't worry

I'll serve you the dishes

the same as the table next

Exactly the same

Wait for a while please

General

It must cost us a lot

Do I look poor to you?

Yummy

If it's not for the fish-lip soup

It wouldn't be worthwhile for me to come here

I knew you this like fish-lip soup

So I asked them to prepare it in advance

What's so good about this soup?

Let me tell you the details

The fish-lip soup

requires 100 fresh fish lips

Boil together with dried mushrooms, bamboo shoot slices and first-class ham

for four hours

With such processing method

it surely be tasteful

It might be a great disrespect

But even for the current emperor

His Majesty hasn't had delicacies like this

Comparing to what we had when the Xie's family was in power

This is nothing

People just know only the emperor and the empress

are able to enjoy the best delicacies

They never know that

The noble classes like us are leading a pleasant and well-off life

That's for sure

Governor Xie

You've helped me a lot

with the winter outfit matter

You are busy with public affairs

And you don't like gold and silver treasures

So

I prepared a courtyard for you near the archway of the eastern market

You can enjoy beauties, money and food the way you want

If so, thank you all for your kindness

The current Empress is a Xie Family member

General, what are you doing?

Now,

it's time that the Xie's Family regaining power again

He is caught together with the loot

We should arrest him now

General, he is the Minister of the Ministry of Revenue

Before our departure, the Lord told us repeatedly

we have to reconsider before taking actions

Words came from the palace a few days ago

We need to enroll more

clan relatives of the Xie's family to work in the palace

Till then

Thank you for your assistance

Then the food...

Have I got any money?

I heard that you are suffering from shoulder problem again

The wound suddenly stings

Maybe it's because the damp and chill weather

But it's nothing serious

Someone has been talkative

I didn't expect it to reach in your ears

I'm glad it's not serious

I asked the imperial physician

to prescribed some painkillers

And

Come here

This ointment can help to remove scars

Remember to apply some every day

I don't want you

to get married with any scars on you

What are you talking about?

Who says I'm getting married?

I'll stay with princess forever

And marry no one

You said so

If General Song marries other girls in the future

You shouldn't cry then

Your Highness

Don't make fun of me

Your Highness, you don't know

General Song really bears Yuxiu in mind

He even sent medicine to Yuxiu just now

It turns out someone cares Yuxiu more than I do

Your hair is a mess

How could you meet him like this?

General Song handed them to me from the outside of the door

Without entering the room

That's interesting

When did General Song become so shy?

He was thinking about you

Yet he didn't enter the room while passing by

Your Highness

Look at the flowers

They are also from General Song

He even warned us

to put the flowers under the sunlight

He mentioned that he brought them from the imperial mausoleum in particular

I used to grow a bunch of orchid in the garden of the imperial mausoleum

If it's not too much trouble for General Song

Please take a look at it on my behalf

If it's still alive

Please water them for me

and take care of it

Telling from the sounds

Princess is getting much better

But why do I feel

there's sorrow in the music?

It takes a hundred days to recover from a fracture

Let alone heartbreaks

Yes

Did everything go well with you?

Just as you said

We were followed during the way

If it wasn't for the protection of the Ningshuo Army

Lord An'ping could have been caught in danger

Wang Lin was deceitful enough

But in the end he was defeated by the Empress Dowager

Zilv failed and met his end

Zitan asked to guard the imperial mausoleum himself

But nothing can compare with killing them all

Don't worry, Huaien has already arranged everything

Lord

Lord An'ping

is holding deep grudge against you

You are trying your best to protect him

He may not feel grateful

I don't need him to be grateful

If he hadn't saved Awu without considering his safety

My Awu

could have been gone by now

I owe him one

Ok

The horse

Where's the horse?

Get down

Go, hurry

Go now, go

Lord

The Hulan mission has came to the capital now

Huye Qi is among them

I fought with him many times

The moment I saw his face

I knew this guy

is up to no good this time

He was provoking me standing on the gate

If we were in Ningshuo

I could have killed him with my sword

You also know that

this is the capital not Ningshuo

That's why I feel angry

He is being so wild in our territory

They came to visit with gifts

When he makes a courtesy call to a hen, the weasel harbors no good intentions

I know that they mean no good

But to find out what they really want

We need to wait a few days more when they come to the imperial court

The weasel is knocking

Let's pull up their fur in a few days

Include me

Lord

Lord

There are several Hulan people out there at the door

Let me pull their fur up now

A friend from afar is a friend

Let them in

They said

they are here to visit the princess

Visit me?

The Hulan envoy is surely very arrogant

They kidnapped Her Highness in Huizhou

And now they dare to ask for a good beaten

Your Highness, in my opinion

Ask the guards to drive them out

They are bold enough

to come to Lord Yuzhang's mansion

Get me dressed

Yes

A'yue

Yes

Ask the Lord to meet our guests together

Yes

Hulan envoy

Is there anything important to visit us in the late night?

I'm here to visit the princess

Not others

You came from afar

My lord is treating you with due respect

But don't forget

A guest should suit the convenience of the host

Hulan envoy Huye Qi

Greetings, Lord Yuzhang

So it's you, General Huye Qi

We know each other well

Save the courtesies please

Yes

Too familar

I have

defeated you for so many times

And now you're here to be our guest

Impolite guests

are not welcomed in the Yuzhang Mansion

Xiao Qi

Is this the manner to show your hospitality to your guests?

You should be thankful

This is not the battlefield

Or I won't be so polite

Insisting on meeting me in the late night

What's for?

Greetings, Princess Yuzhang

I'm here

under the order of Prince Zhen

to present a gift to Princess Yuzhang

What's this?

This is the wonder flower from Peak Huodu of Hulan

It won't decay even if covered with snow and frost

And it only blooms every hundred years

It's the best detoxification and healing material in the world

It's very generous of your prince

Our prince said

that Princess Yuzhang is a wonder woman

Only her

is good enough for the wonder flower

This gift is too precious

Tell your prince

I feel grateful but won't take it

Come here

Tell him

We accept the gift

and show my gratitude

General Song

See our guests out

You turned me down again and again

Are you looking down on me?

You want me to look up to you?

Well, you can battle with

Xiao Qi squarely at the battlefields

rather than insulting a woman here

What kind of revenge is that?

This phoenix-shaped hairpin was a gift from Wanru

The mystic pearl on it

is the only one in the world

I used to pull off the hairpin to assassinate Helan Zhen

But I failed

And it went missing

Now

They returned the hairpin

Helan Zhen seems to make an apology

to me through an obscure way

But He hates Xiao Qi for killing his mother earlier

He also hold grudge against Xiao Qi for cutting his arm

He won't give up so easy

Why on earth

does Helan Zhen come here?

Hulan and Cheng

have been fighting on the battlefield for years

This time, Helan Zhen came to the capital with high profile

He must have unknown intentions

Let's wait and see

Don't worry

You got me

I'm the Prince of Hulan, Helan Zhen. Under the order of the king of Hulan

Congratulate the emperor of Cheng to succeed the throne

Wish Hulan and Cheng become allies

Long live Your Majesty

Please stand up

Thank you, Your Majesty

Huye Qi

Present the list of gifts

Yes

Thank you, prince

I'm here

for one more thing

I'm hoping Your Majesty can offer help

Just tell me, Prince

Hulan and Cheng

are close neighbors

We'd like to form a marriage alliance with Cheng

For my brother Helan Tuo

marry a princess of Cheng

Well

King Hulan may not know

I just succeeded the throne

And haven't got any child yet

The late emperor has only three princes

But no princesses

This marriage...

Your Majesty, please don't worry

You have no daughters

We know it

But we also know

Cheng is a place of good woman

Like the well-known Princess Yuzhang

Even in Hulan

She's quite known

If Your Majesty agrees

Please select a noble girl like her to be a princess

and unite with Cheng by marriage

Thus

Cheng and Hulan will become relatives by marriage

To show our sincerity

The King of Hulan promises to retreat 50 miles

And he will never start wars during his rule

We take it as a present

to marry the princess of Cheng

Okay

You have traveled thousands of miles to ask for marriage alliance

Your sincerity is obvious

There's no reason for Cheng to refuse

Don't worry

I will select a noble girl

with first-class appearance and background

For now

You came from afar

and have traveled thousands of miles. You must be tired

Pass the order down

Tomorrow night

I will hold a banquet in the palace

to welcome the prince of Hulan

Yes, Your Majesty

Thank you, Your Majesty

Helan Zhen

has a presumptuous favor to ask

Go ahead, prince

Helan Zhen

used to have some misunderstandings between Princess Yuzhang

I want to make it clear face to face with the princess

I don't know

if Princess Yuzhang can also be invited

tomorrow night?

You are saying

This Hulan guy visited the Yuzhang Mansion last night?

Yes

Interesting

Very interesting

I don't understand

This Hulan guy is supposed to be a foe of Lord Yuzhang

When Princess Yuzhang was kidnapped in Huizhou

It used to go viral

No matter how hard I try

I cannot figure out the reason

Mammy, you forgot

We don't know the reason

But in the Yuzhang Mansion

Someone knows

Do you mean Su Jin'er, Your Majesty?

Send someone to the Yuzhang mansion tomorrow to pass on a message

Ask her the details

Don't expose yourselves

Yes

Your Highness

I got the information

that Hulan prince sent his man to the Yuzhang mansion last night

He's so high profile

Those who care about the Lord Yuzhang masion

should knew about this now

This Prince of Hulan, Helan Zhen

hates Lord Yuzhang Xiao Qi because Xiao Qi killed his mother first

Then cutting his arm off

Great

He came here just in time

Sis Jin-er

Sis Jin-er

Sis Yuxiu

Princess Yuzhang asked you to rest for more

Why are you doing works again?

Come here

There's no need

Speaking of me

I was born a workaholic

I feel uncomfortable lying on bed for several days

It's not heavy work

So I did it at hand

Do you know where is Sis Jin'er?

She went to the kitchen just now

to prepare decoction for the princess

What happened?

There's a girl out there

saying that she is her cousin

and wants to meet her for an emergency

I'll go get her in the kitchen

Be careful

Cousin?

The princess said Jin'er was an orphan since she was little

and was brought up in the mansion

Where does this cousin come from?

Are you looking for me?

Yes, please go this way

The Empress wants to see me

is it because the third prince sent back a letter?

It's the Empress who sent me here for you

She wants to know that

Last night,

why did the Hulan people visit Lord Yuzhang's mansion?

What happened?

Is there any letters from the third prince?

Don't you understand?

All that happens in Lord Yuzhang's mansion

are related to the third prince

If you can't

report to the Empress when anything happens

Then in the future, the Empress

won't help you

I will say

As long as it's for the third prince

I would do anything

Your Majesty, you've just finished the imperial court session. What brings you here?

Your Majesty

What's the matter?

Helan Zhen is planning something indeed

He just met me today

and he posed me a difficult problem

It was this guy

who kidnapped Awu in Huizhou

and made troubles in Ningshuo

He met me in the court today

I said I would hold a banquet for the officials

How dare he mentioned

Awu twice in front of everyone?

And asked Awu to show up in the banquet, too

Well

There's no respect shown to Load and Princess Yuzhang at all

You are right

A woman's reputation is the most important

Awu is my cousin

If it were old times, bad tempered as me

I would surely drive him out of the capital right away

and ask him never come back

But I'm the emperor now

Over the years as the crown prince

So many people didn't think much of me

and waited me to make mistakes

I get to understand

the distresses of father

As the emperor

I'll never act without restrains

I should

even be patient in humiliation

Wanru

Do you understand

what I said?

Yes, I know

Wanru can feel your sufferings

If Your Majesty is bothered

I have an idea

I don't know if it will work

Any ideas?

Tell me about it

Why don't Your Majesty postpone the banquet several days?

By doing so

We can invite all the noble wives and girls

to attend the banquet

For one thing, we can select

beauties from these noble girls

Your Majesty can take a look

For another, the girls will compete for attention

Princess Yuzhang won't be so obvious

among them

We can also show the Hulan people

the grace of the Cheng's women

Now

Ask Lord Yuzhang to come to the Royal study

I have something to discuss with him

Yes, Your Majesty

Keep on watching

General, there's someone out there

General

Is it?

Go

You are quite impressive indeed, Lord Yuzhang

You can even get so much money and supplies

from these old schools

by taking advantage of the banquet

Thus

the shortage of military expenditure is solved

Well

I will allocate five thousand taels of gold to you

Your Majesty,

Isn't the Prime Minister said

there's no fund left in the national treasury?

Get lost

I said there is, so there is

Five thousand taels

Thus

my soldiers can go through the winter

Thank you, Your Majesty

Me and the soldiers will always be grateful

Could Your Majesty also write an imperial list?

Announce the matter of the donations of money and food from the nobles publicly

By doing so

Even if the nobles know the money

finally goes into the army

The people will speak high of this matter for sure

It's a win-win situation

That's great

Approved

Thank you, Your Majesty

For one more thing

I've already discussed with Councilor Gu

We've decided the princess of the marriage alliance

She is Gu Caiwei, the daughter of the Gu family

The Hulan envoy visiting the capital

I know that

it made Lord Yuzhang and Awu upset

But you also know that

the sufferings people has been gone through all these years

I also hope for a prosperous and peaceful country

A few days later

I hope Lord Yuzhang can pay attention to the interests of the whole nation

Don't argue with the Hulan envoys

I will

follow your majesty's order

Lord

This is the account book of the transactions between Xie Shouzheng and those people

As the Lord has told me and Hu Yao

We watched the guy for several days

and found

he always visit a private courtyard secretly

There must be some dirty tricks

As I expected

We found this

Tell Hu Yao

Keep a close eye on Xie Shouzheng

Well noted, Lord

Everyone in this account book is very influential

Tomorrow

I will present this account book to the emperor

and ask for judgement and decision

Okay

We'll wait till the Lord meet with the emperor

I'll replace Hu Yao now

Go ahead

Be careful

Soldiers of Ningshuo

Yes

For Cheng

Fight

From now on, the soldiers of Ningshuo

will feel proud and elated

Good. That's great

Very good

Lord

Lately, A'yue told me

Whenever the weather turns like this

Yuxiu would find it troublesome to sleep because of her wound

Right

Whenever the weather gets cold

since her bone was injured

the pain is like ants biting

It's really painful

Because of me

She gets this uncured illness

Yuxiu is just a young girl

And risked her life to save you

We must treat her well in the future

Huaien often come and visit her lately

Either sending flowers or medicine

I always feel that

they two like each other

What do you think?

Is Huaien the one for Yuxiu?
