is a civilian you speak English but your

name Paul Victorian you always try to

kill Americans when they tried to

restore my equipment yes your equipment

I own all of this the quarry is mine the

machinery is mine your hair mine I have

my orders

well your orders are wrong it's

equipment it's my property that's

nothing to do with a war except on the

cross using huh come on get on with it

no wait

now again I tell you I won't you have no

right to do this no I just have my

orders the one planet

[Music]

[Music]

Oh like RV

I just about broke my neck you know

sergeant for four years I think with the

Maquis fighting for my country I lose my

home my family everything but I wait oh

yes I wait I wait for the liberators to

arrive and when they do come what

happens they destroy everything I have

left everything I build all this with my

own hands no help no spare motor part

here left part there I put it all

together

yes I began a future for myself from

this mountain and now you'll have any

future as long as the Germans are in

your country the Germans did not destroy

my equipment when they were running they

probably would have it at the time right

all done let's get out of here

yeah you better leave with us I will

stay right here and I'll hang on to your

rifle just in case you start sniping at

us again let's go

thousand

I will not forget what you've done here

today

[Music]

it was deafening

[Applause]

how bad back

well he's not gonna walk out of here but

nobody's gonna walk out of here there's

a dozen clouds out there doc can we

carry him on a stretcher well not until

I stop the bleeding make a splint and

then we gotta find something to make a

stretcher we're being paid Sarge

sounds like the opposition is desperate

and so is yours me no I'm a civilian I

don't even have a gun anymore remember

that you you are you're may would be

wiser to surrender I'm not gonna

surrender

I'm not gonna forget because of you we

just got pinned down

[Music]

[Music]

[Applause]

now

they're gonna play

[Music]

[Applause]

it seems that those who came to the

story will not be destroyed

[Music]

Sarge suppose I am try to flank the

machine-gun get him to divide their fire

but uh no-man's land out there

I'll go there now we'll get it cover go

[Applause]

good

I got stolen pretty good sort as I said

before sergeant you better surrender I

don't know father used to keep your

mouth shut

how's he doing doc pretty bad

[Music]

what are you thinking about sighs maybe

there's another way out of here huh

maybe we can drive out in this bulldozer

oh you're kidding

why what's a bulldozer that pick us off

like flies and if we raise that blade

for protection figure out somehow and I

put on the driver's seat my side you're

wasting your breath I smash this engine

already maybe we can fix it

Oh with what listen you said you built a

lot of this equipment there must be some

spare parts lying around here's

something get this thing going again

sergeant dryer do I understand you I

mean you come here and you help me at

gunpoint destroy my equipment and now

you wanted to to fix it so that you can

save your life that's right

well then you're either the biggest fool

in the world or you think I am yes there

is no because it can't be fixed because

I don't want to fix it because I don't

want to help you Kirby you think you can

fix it Sarge I must have discovered up

in the throttle linkage is bad too what

about a carbon linkage do you have it

listen it even even if you could repair

it you have no time soon the Germans

will be here with the heavy armor yeah

they'll blast you and me and my machines

out of here now a spare motor I can

repair yes parallel to will cover right

- maybe I can replace by those big guns

on the German tanks that blow up

everything to pieces pieces there'd be

nothing left

surrender sergeant surrender yeah we're

not gonna get enough not him Sarge I'll

be some parts in that truck over there

if it's not burned through right hey

what about that way you know what about

those steel plates but I bought it I'll

have the other how thick I don't know

were you gonna do it a steel plate Sarge

working for the driver getting

protection are you gonna keep a steel in

position well we could braise it does

acetylene really go in there you handle

it I wouldn't try

you got any brazen runs around here yeah

in the shack

but there are also many boxes of

dynamite if you go in there one stray

bullet or risk it now listen listen my

surprise I there my tools engine parts I

lose everything besides the Germans will

be here before you have finished

we're having a report severe morale

around here it's worth the try Serge

I'll go for the stuff I'll go with you

Little John twos better than one our

occasion I will give you cover

[Music]

[Applause]

[Applause]

[Music]

I got machine give you everybody to

stand

[Music]

curry as if I'm not become

[Applause]

where they come from they move the

machine gun

I was tired

they can't make it back the Krauts got a

line on him with their machine gun how

do we help him sorry

[Music]

about grenades they're close enough

they'd cut you to ribbons sergeant after

four years of fighting I'm lucky enough

to come back and find everything intact

now you want to destroy it

needlessly it cannot win this fight

you cannot before this is done this way

will be better we'd have nothing left

because you are stubborn man lies dying

next to a machine all you can think

about is a machine the machine is all

I've got

doc how is he he needs a hospital sir he

needs a doctor

another reason to surrender the Germans

must have doctors with him

we're gonna get back the way we came

here why don't we get thrown over to be

worth a try

children play much baseball pretty good

on well you're it

[Applause]

[Music]

[Applause]

[Music]

it's got the right size will the fit

yeah yeah I think so

[Applause]

now what I'm gonna head for that wagon

go to steal once I draw the fire you

took off at our building where you can

drag it back in here it's a long run

well if I don't make it

[Music]

well vena cavae

[Applause]

than luck this was you want to be yeah

difference between right and wrong

risk his life or we're sure they you

know the same brand of bullets was

coming to all of us you know what your

trouble is you don't know your friends

from your enemies

[Music]

[Applause]
