Mr. Wang

we've delivered the 30,000 taels of silver to you.

Thank you all.

Just a small token of appreciation.

Let's go!

We risked our lives

to deliver him so much silver.

What a miser.

Brother Guan, forget about the tip.

He paid the boss,

we had to do our best. As long as we got the job done,

no one would mess around with us.

That's our biggest reward being escorts.

Brother Guan, we're almost home.

Chief Guan, what have you got for Miss Fang this time?

Nothing.

Chief Guan, Miss Fang is waiting for you at the door.

Chief Guan, you're back.

You're home...

Hello, Miss Fang.

Hello, Chief Guan.

Brother Ling.

Miss Fang.

My grand father's waiting for you inside.

Xiaohu, these are for your wife.

Thank you...

''Eagle Hall''

Chief Guan, Chief Ling, you've done a good job.

Our Eagle Escorts have built and lived up to its name.

We owe it all to you two in the last few years.

Come, let's have a drink.

Thanks, boss.

Thanks to Brother Guan for giving me the opportunity.

Let me drink to you.

Very well.

We took a big job yesterday,

70,000 silver taels, to be delivered to Datong County,

you two will be in charge again.

Grandpa, you should let me go.

Yaner, don't think it's too easy.

This is a dangerous profession.

They risk their lives on the job.

No matter how long or short they need to travel,

there are so many robbers who could be anywhere.

Who would take up such responsibility

if he is not a heroic person?

Although our company has a good reputation,

but who can guarantee

that nothing untoward will happen on the road?

Yaner, do you know our motto?

We'll keep our flags up

as long as we are breathing.

That's right.

Yaner, do you think you can do that?

Chief, l'm tired, l'm turning in.

The silver will be here tomorrow early morning

and we'll need to leave.

Turn in early.

Chief Guan, you're back?

l only owe you three hundred taels,

and you're here to remind me so soon?

No, Chief Guan. You're mistaken.

l'm not here for the debt.

Someone has taken care of it.

Really?

That's right, he wants to see you,

and has sent me to invite you.

Where's he?

ln my shop.

You're very generous, mister.

Why did you help me to pay my debt?

Jin Buhuan, what do you want from me?

We're old friends, just to meet up.

l have nothing to say to you.

We have nothing in common.

l feel sorry for you.

Now that you're an escort,

thousands of taels go through your hands each day;

Not only that you can't get rich,

but you owe a lot of debts.

Remember the good old days when we were partners?

We can achieve the same by different means, my friend.

Not only that l've paid for your wine debts here, but

l've also paid the brothel owner whom you owed a lot.

Why do you risk your life everyday?

Could it be for Miss Fang?

But she treats you...

Jin Buhuan.

Let's be frank.

What are you trying to say?

Let's get rich! Work with me.

You mean work together and steal from Eagle Escorts, huh?

Very smart.

How much do l get?

Twenty percent.

Who are the others?

Don't you worry.

Which order?

The 70,000 taels of silver to be sent off tomorrow.

Where?

Longlin Slope, on the Pine Forest Path.

%

young women like Fang Yan

will come knocking on your door.

You just got here today, and you're leaving tomorrow.

Grandpa wouldn't let me

join you this time.

The boss meant well, he's afraid that you...

What's he afraid of? With you beside me,

l'm not scared of anything.

Why don't you sneak me out along?

l can't.

Can't do this, can't do that.

l'm going because of you.

But you always refuse.

You have any idea how worried l am

every time you're out doing ajob?

l'm worried that...

Thank you, Miss Fang.

l'm not worried about my life.

But have you ever thought on my behalf?

Yes, but as a security escort.

Security escort...

Even so, you can still have an emotional life.

l wish you weren't in this business.

''Eagle Escorts''

This time you'll need to travel through Longlin Slope,

it's frequented by robbers,

you must be careful.

Yes.

Miss Fang, from Chief Ling.

Don't want it.

Hand it over.

Stop! Don't hurt anyone.

Brother Jin.

We're all friends here, let me introduce you.

This is the Spear Prince,

who's from Panlong mound.

This is Yan Ziqing, the legendary ''Flying on Grass''

And this is Huo Lie, from Wuyi Mountain.

And this is Kasha, the thousand hands Buddha.

Brother Jin,

what do you need us for?

A big job.

Big job?

Brother Jin, you think highly of us.

And you're giving us the chance to make money.

Not at all, you are all very accomplished.

l need your help.

lf we succeed this round,

we'll have plenty to cheer about.

Target?

The Eagle Escorts.

Black and white chiefs' job.

Chief Ling, you should rest now.

Chief Guan, it's all right.

Tomorrow is crucial, as we pass by Longlin Slope ...

Longlin Slope? What?

Longlin Slope is frequented by robbers.

Who would dare to interfere with us two here?

Chief Guan.

We're taking high risks for this job.

So what?

We never get rewarded.

What would you do

if you have seventy thousand taels of silver?

l couldn't dream of that,

seven thousand is good enough.

But l wouldn't know what to do.

l'm happy with seven hundred.

With just seventy taels l can buy some land

and can retire.

lf someone robs us this time,

we'll need to explain,

but no one will ask us for the money,

right?

And naturally no one will hold us responsible

for the whereabouts of the silver.

Chief Guan, you're saying...

Only kidding.

l'm saying if we change

all the silver with bricks.

Even if someone robs us,

nobody would suspect where the silver is.

Of course, and we must keep this between us.

What if no one robs us?

We'll approach Longlin Slope

tomorrow morning.

l'm sure there are robbers there.

lf the boss and Chief Ling find out,

we'll be in trouble.

l was only kidding.

Someone would want the money,

it would be a shame

if we let the robbers take everything.

l think this might work.

And we can get...

Don't be silly, l was only kidding.

Chief Guan, we'll let you take charge in this.

Please leave me out of this, there are too many of us.

Surely it will get out sooner or later.

Once we've got the silver,

then we'll go our separate ways, who'd mention this?

l don't want to risk it if l don't get half the share.

Chief Guan, you'll get half of it.

What are you waiting for?

This wall.

Ready?

Yes.

Let's go.

Let's go.

Let's take a break in the next village.

Okay.

You take care of Yan Ziqing.

Sure.

Chief Guan.

You...

lt isn't safe to talk here.

Go.

Can Yan Ziqing beat Ling Xiao?

With his dexterity, l'm sure he can manage.

Brother Jin!

We did it.

We're old partners, a good team.

What about my twenty percent?

Same place, be there any time to pick it up.

What about Ling?

lt's best if Yan Ziqing can take him out.

lf not, he can take the blame.

Good plan.

Brother Jin, why don't you kill Guan?

He's still got a purpose to serve

Are you going to give him 20 percent?

Don't worry, l've a plan.

Let's go.

Chief Guan.

Chief Guan.

Chief Guan.

Chief Ling.

Chief Guan was...

Chief Guan.

Over here.

You're hurt.

Don't worry, l'm fine. The silver is more important.

True. Report to the boss now, l'll go after the silver

We'll keep our flags up as long as we are breathing.

Don't worry, Chief Guan, l'll get the silver back.

Brother Jin, where's Yan Ziqing?

Him?

Too bad he couldn't make it.

Well, we can have a larger share.

Open up.

Don't even think about it!

What? You want to claim it for yourself? Forget it.

Kill him.

Kill.

Wait.

l can't believe this.

Guan tricked me.

lt's a set-up by Ling Xiao.

l don't believe that.

Brother Ling wouldn't do such things.

But before we set out,

he insisted in taking the path along Longlin Slope.

l was hurt and fainted after the robbery,

then l saw him riding off with the robbers.

Could that be wrong?

He's not fit to be an escort.

That's your side of the story.

Yaner, shut up.

Where are you off to, Yaner?

To fine Brother Ling.

Nonsense, come back.

After they robbed the silver,

we don't know where they've taken the silver to.

l can't believe that

he would do such a thing, as the escort.

Grandpa.

So do you believe that Brother Ling

would work with the robbers in this?

Why don't you say something? Come on.

Tell them that Brother Ling wouldn't do such a thing.

You know he would risk his own life

in order to guard the silver.

Aren't you aware of that?

Why are you so quiet?

Miss Fang, after what happened,

you may never know what a person thinks inside.

Shut up, l don't want to listen.

l trust him.

He is a true escort.

He will locate the stolen silver.

Open up.

Who's that?

You must have switched in silver secretly.

Chief Ling, help him!

l'll look for a doctor and inform the Eagle Escorts.

Aren't you the shop owner Han?

Yes, Miss Fang. l was looking for you.

What's going on?

l'm glad to see you. Chief Ling of your company...

What's happened to him?

He's badly injured, and is in our inn.

lt's Ping On lnn

l never left this place.

They must have done something here.

Waiter...

Chief Ling, how can l help you?

Nothing.

l want to buy...

At this hour?

Buy some information.

Certainly.

Did anything strange happen last night?

Strange? l didn't hear anything.

l had a busy day and slept soundly.

Then, what about during day time?

No.

Yes...

This afternoon the inn keeper found that

all the bricks of the wall at the back were gone.

There wasn't any wind or rain,

don't you find that's strange?

The wall bricks!

You can go rest now.

Ling is inside.

We'll take a look, you wait here.

Yes.

Go up there.

Who are you?

l don't know you.

But l know you.

You're Fang Yan, the daughter Eagle Escorts' owner.

You're here to meet your sweetheart?

But you can't see him yet.

What will you do to him?

Oh, we just want to borrow you; get her.

Ling.

Where's Chief Ling?

He is...

lmpressive, Chief Ling.

l suppose you've found the silver?

So what?

That's great.

l suggest you hand the silver out.

Bullshit! Don't even think about that

while l live.

A hero, a good man.

But l, Jin Buhuan have made up my mind,

l'll get the silver no matter what.

Move...

Miss Fang.

Brother Ling.

Miss Fang's life is in your hands.

Jin Buhuan.

The silver?

Brother Ling, you can't.

Jin Buhuan, l...

Brother Ling, don't forget that you're an escort.

Stop it.

Brother Ling, it doesn't matter if l die.

Don't ruin your honour as an escort because of me.

Jin Buhuan, listen up.

Let Miss Fang go.

Where's the silver?

ln the back garden.

Brother Ling, you...

What are you doing here?

l've been expecting you.

You should be more careful,

what if someone sees me?

Chief Guan, where are you going so early?

To the old place

to collect 20 percent of the silver from Brother Jin.

Of bricks.

Bricks?

What are you talking about?

You are refusing to pay my share now?

You're a good actor.

Where's the silver?

Didn't you get that at Longlin Slope?

We got bricks.

Bricks?

l get it.

lt's Ling Xiao.

Have you killed him?

lt's not that easy.

As long as we get the silver.

lt's up to us whether we kill him or not.

Where's he?

Brother Jin has sent someone after him.

That's easy.

You can find out from him where the silver is.

Go.

Guan Wanglong, where do you think you're going?

Thanks, Chief Ling.

Go.

Take the girl.

Yes.

Brother Ling, it's my fault.

Jin Buhuan, let Miss Fang go.

Let her go? Not that easy.

We've got the silver now,

we'll kill her first if you come after us.

You don't keep your word!

Bunch of animals!

Hold on.

Why?

You'll understand.

Let's go...

Brother Ling.

Go.

l don't get it.

Why didn't you let me kill that Ling?

Easy enough, he's the escort.

We took the silver right in front of him,

and the girl too.

Guan betrayed us.

So you hope that Ling will take care of Guan?

Right?

Very smart.

Guan Wanglong.

Although l'm a robber,

but you're ten times worse.

lt's too late now.

What happened?

A group of robbers came here last night,

they took packets of the stuff from Chief Ling.

Let me go...

Where do you think you can run?

Thousand hands Buddha.

Brother Jin.

You shouldn't do this now,

you have plenty of chances when you have the money.

l was only thinking...

We shouldn't stay long, let's go.

Brother Jin, wouldn't that be a shame?

Where are we heading to?

Same place, Longyan Mine.

Then we're turning back, why?

Ling or Guan

will come after us no matter who lives.

We're trying to confuse them

of our whereabouts.

Good move. Go.

Let's go

Miss Fang.

Miss Fang, l understand.

Stop, let's take a break.

Come on...it's really hot today.

Drink some water.

Good...

My turn...

Come on...

And you? Sir.

Thanks.

l won't drink it.

l still want to stay alive to enjoy the silver.

What do you mean?

You're really not an ordinary person.

We're the same kind of people.

l've seen through all your moves.

You sent the Spear Prince to take care of Guan,

that's because you hope Guan Wanglong will kill him.

You didn't kill Ling,

because you knew that

Guan swapped the silver at the inn.

Ling being a true escort that he is,

will suffer more alive than dead,

and he will try his best to locate the stolen silver.

lmpressive, Thousand Hands Buddha.

Don't talk bullshit!

Now that there's just two of us, let's split it 50-50.

-So? -Forget it.

Guan Wanglong, you thief.

Thief? Yes. Now you're the escort and l'm the thief.
