Demon Girl - Episode 2 -

On the streets of Shanghai, there is a saying.

If there is someone that does bad things, he will almost certainly be eaten by a demon.

What does this demon look like?

No one has seen it.

But every evil person

always get killed at an unexpected moment

The police station looked for a long time,

but they never had a single lead.

Little by little, people started to believe

all of these were just rumors. Not to be believed.

There is only a small portion of people that continue looking for this demon.

Fresh cut flowers, take a look.

Fresh cut flowers,

take a look.

What are you guys doing?

Let go of me!

Don't move!

Sit down!

Let go!

Who are you?

Did you send those men?

Uncle Nie, I'm sorry.

Let me introduce myself. My name is Ming Xia.

I am the police chief of this district.

I am also a good friend of Nie Qing Cheng.

I'm sorry to trouble you, but it's not for nothing.

It's for you to better understand your daughter.

I raised my daughter from infancy.

I understand her very well.

But to my understanding, your youngest daughter

is studying at a prestigious school in Shanghai.

The tuition must be very hard for you to afford.

If Qing Cheng stops working here, she will have to quit school.

Suddenly, the heavy burden of two person's living costs

will all be placed on your shoulders.

I'm not scared.

This is our family's thing. No need for an outsider to get involved.

Fine. Right now, you aren't scared.

What about in future?

Two people have no ability or education.

They only have the purity as women.

How can they survive in Shanghai?

Do you want them to marry a low status laborer?

Or wish them to suffer hardship their whole life?

I... I...

I understand you. You're worried that if Qing Cheng works here

she will be bullied. But I'm here.

I won't let anyone harm her.

I promise that she will live very well here.

Who are you?

And what is your relationship with Qing Cheng?

Why are you helping her like this?

Because I like her.

I knew it would be like this.

Rich people like you, I have seen many.

When you like that person, you treat her like a jewel.

When you don't like her, you get rid of her like old shoes.

How can an ordinary person like me believe that you truly like her?

What is this?

This is where I live.

My real estate.

The contact information of my best friends.

And all of my past.

For you to check.

I am willing to accept every test.

Next, I will be singing a song for everybody.

This song is for my father.

I remember when I was a little girl, every time I cry,

my father would sing this song to comfort me.

Now that I've grown up,

I want to tell him that

I can also sing and comfort him.

I will sing a song called "Love Song."

♫ When I think I get confused. As I cry I laugh ♫

♫ Holding your hand between heaven and earth ♫

♫ Even the flowers are blooming even the winds are intoxicating ♫

♫ Because you are by my side ♫

♫ The haziness of this lifetime is falling into your demonic temptation ♫

♫ The more I want to escape, the harder it is to escape from your sight ♫

♫ This lifetime of tender-heartedness is kept within your heart ♫

♫ Forever and ever, always staying strong ♫

♫ I won't hesitate losing all my power ♫

♫ I will only be crazy that you will flee from my side ♫

♫ I won’t hesitate living without any sense of direction ♫

♫ I am only thinking of where to take you ♫

Uncle.

Mr. Ming Xia,

from now on, I will entrust Qing Cheng to you.

I hope you can protect her and take care of her.

If you can't do it,

even if I become a ghost, I still won't let you go.

♫ You and I in this lifetime just play along once ♫

♫ No matter the furious laughter of others ♫

♫ Love and hate just have to be like this no need to ponder ♫

♫ No matter the probable bleak outcome ♫

I helped you solve such a big problem.

How do you plan on thanking me?

How about I invite you to a bowl of dumplings?

Just a bowl of dumplings? Not really sincere.

Then what do you want?

I want you to teach me how to dance.

But there will always be a day when you learn how to dance.

For you, I am willing to never learn how to dance.

Qing Cheng,

I'm controlling, tough,

and intolerant. If you accept me,

you will be my everything.

Similarly, I will be your everything.

If you aren't willing to accept me, I will quietly leave

and never bother you again.

Right now, I will follow this road.

If you are willing to accept me, come grab me.

If you aren't willing to accept me, then don't mind me.

Let me finish this road by myself.

Ming Xia.

Fine, you grabbed me.

You can't back out now.

Everyone here, will you all be my witnesses

that from now on, Nie Qing Cheng is my girlfriend.

Congratulations!

Come here.

Boss, can you take a picture of us?

Of course!

It's a moment worth to celebrate. We should record this.

Here, little bro, why don't you stand on the left.

Ok, let's change spots.

A little over here.

Good.

Who is our target today?

Sheng Tian Yang.

Male, 40 years old.

Commander in chief of Shanghai.

He is a very treacherous man and often uses his rank to bully others.

He's committed all manners of crime.

- The time it happened. - It happened three days ago.

Have a good day.

Move out of the way! Don't move randomly!

- You! -Pardon me! Pardon me!

Move out of the way! Quickly leave!

- Bring her here.- Please excuse me.

Yes.

- Hurry come.- What are you guys doing?

Let go of me!

What are you guys doing?!?

Grandpa! Grandpa!

What are you guys doing?!?

Let me go!

- Grandpa! - Let her go.

How can you kidnap someone in broad daylight!

Let her go! Let her go!

Grandpa!

Grandpa!

Hello.

Who are you? Why are you in my room?

Oh! Ming Xia's home.

- Mom! - Oh! You've met each other!

Let me introduce her to you.

This your Uncle Meng's youngest daughter.

Meng Meng. She just returned from studying in France.

Your Uncle Meng asked me to show her Shanghai.

Take a seat, Meng Meng...

Say, she's a young woman... We do not have the same interests.

So, I'm asking a favor from Chief Superintendent Ming.

Please take your sister Meng Meng to see Shanghai

to have a good time.

Princess, you know

our station is very busy. No time.

Tsk! I'll ask for leave for you.

Mom!

So what ?Actually, I don't like that superintendent job of yours!

You take care of all the business matters.

I am not gifted in business.

No one is born a natural businessman!

There's a beginning to everything, right?

Old sayings are right: "A successful career comes from a complete home."

Of course, you should complete your family before focusing on your career!

Caretaker Zhou,

please pour us some coffee.

You may leave first.

Ming Xia, talk to your guest.

All right. Miss Meng,

let me show you what I like.

This is the girl I like.

Who is this? She's pretty.

This is my girlfriend. Her name is Nie Qing Cheng.

If you guys both have time, you two can meet up and hang out.

Ok.

Ming Xia, when did this happen? How come I didn't know?

This... Aunt Ming...

There are matters I have yet to address at home.

May I leave if there's no further matters here?

Meng Meng, why don't you leave after eating?

No need.

Butler Zhang, please escort Meng Meng out.

Come back often.

My goodness! You, this kid!

Let me look.

Where is this girl from?

What's her family background?

Let me first say the unpleasant words.

If it's some indecent person,

I won't let her marry you.

You don't trust my taste?

You are my big princess.

She is my small princess.

Didn't you just say you believe in freedom of love?

It's my matter, I will make the decision.

Sir, your coffee.

Ming Xia, when there's time, bring her over for dinner.

Ok.

Butler Zhang...

Understood.

What do you understand?

I will investigate this Nie Qing Cheng.

I would like to see who the woman is that has charmed my Ming Xia.

Yes.

Mr. Chen, take it slow.

- Careful. - Don't help me!

- I can walk.- Get out of the way!

Why are you just standing there, go get a car!

Hurry!

How come you still aren't here?

Mr. Chen!

Demon! Demon!

Demon! Demon! Demon!

Demon!

Master,

are you ok?

These people are getting more and more useless.

It's easy to kill them.

Winter is almost here. Master, why don't you go hide from it.

Before this, I can still kill many bad people.

This year, winter is coming faster than before. I feel that if you prepare quickly, it will be better.

Don't worry. I'm keeping track of the time.

Young Master.

Princess, what is your command?

After choosing for so long, I wondered who you've settled on.

So, she's a bar dancer!

Ming Xia, you're still young.

You don't know much about the evils in this world.

This girl, what kind of education has she undertaken?

Why is she with you?

She's definitely after your money.

If you didn't have any money, I doubt she'd be with you!

My princess.

What kind of era is this?

You think we still live in the Qing Dynasty?

Alright! I know!

Lately, I am busy at the station and do not have time.

But once I have the time, I'll bring her here to meet you.

I guarantee that once you've met her, you'll like her!

This child! Why don't you listen to my advice?!

Do you really need to suffer before realizing your mistake?

I don't care! Quickly break it off with her!

I will never allow a mere dance girl to enter our family's home!

If you do not accept, then we will both live away from this house!

Are you insisting on going against me?!

You are the one who is going against me!

You haven't even met her, how can you say she is after my wealth

How can you be so illogical?

You say I'm illogical, right?!

Fine, I'll make a bet with you!

If that Nie Qing Cheng is not after your money,

I will follow all of your wishes. BUT...

if I can prove that she's with you because of your money, you must immediately break it off with her!

Do you dare take this bet?!

This is decided then!

This is decided!

- Caretaker Zhou - Yes...

Young Master, for you.

- Ok. - Hurry.

Hello, it's me.

Yes, I'll be right there.

What is the problem? Making you hurry and leave again.

General Guo's deputy Shen Tian Yang was killed last night.

It's pretty hectic there.

I'll first be leaving. I won't eat dinner at home.

Another murder? Take care of yourself!

This kid, always so rough...

I just need to prove that that girl is after his money.

This is easy.

I'll let you gain some experience on the nature of humanity.

Qing Cheng, I need to discuss something with you.

Can you tell me later? I need to go on stage.

In the future, you won't need to go onto the stage.

What do you mean?

Xian Le Si will not be needing you anymore.

This is your money for this month.

Let's part on good terms.

Dad, you should be at school.

Why have you come home?

Qing Cheng,

are you hungry?

Dad will make some food for you.

- Dad is going to make you food. - Dad!

School!

They told me that I was too old-fashioned.

If I continue teaching, I will harm the next generation.

So...

- Let me go look for them. - Daughter!

Never mind, never mind, never mind.

They have their own way of thinking and issues.

Don't need to press them.

But...

Pick up the phone. Hurry!

Okay.

Hello.

Fine, I'll be there immediately.

What happened?

Who called?

Nothing.

A friend called me for help, I'll be back soon.

Daughter-

This morning, Student Nie Qing Xin, during the class break time,

broke another student's coat.

That's an expensive antique coat and has special meaning, that's why I asked you to come over.

Teacher Wu, our Qing Xin has always been an honest person.

There is no way she would have torn another person's coat.

Many students saw it and they unanimously said she did it.

So I can't help her.

Then estimate how much I need to pay back?

A minimum of 100 silver dollars.

100 silver dollars?

Just on the roof top, Qing Xin is fighting with another student.

I heard that she's gone crazy. Wonder if it will end up with any death!

Let's go have a look.

Don't you come near me!

Didn't you two expect me to die ?

Alright then, I just want to see

is my life precious or your lives are more precious?!

Qing Xin, stay calm! We didn't mean it!

If worst come to worst, I do not need you to reimburse the money!

This matter has nothing to do with me, it's between you and her.

Please spare me, okay?

You didn't see anything and yet you arbitrarily accused me!

Today, I don't intend to live anymore!

I want to die together with the two of you!

Go die!

What are you doing, Qing Xin?

Come back with me!

It won't really end up with someone dead, right?

Sis,

I'm sorry.

I've caused you trouble again.

Why am I such a useless person? But you must believe me!

I really did not tear her dress up!

She purposely knocked me.

When she knocked me, her dress was already torn!

And her...! They are in cahoots!

They purposely accused me!

Alright! aren't you just wishing that I'd die?

I'll just die then!

But I want the two of you to accompany me to the grave!

Please stay calm, Qing Xin!

Please think! If you are dead,

what would happen to father and me?

Come over first. Come over and we'll talk. Come over!

Perhaps, the matter is not as terrible as you think!

Since the first day I entered this school,

these people supplanted, suppressed and slandered me!

See! What are they doing standing behind you?!

They are watching a joke!

They want to see when I'll die!

Good! Watch!

I'll indulge you all, alright?!

Qing Xin!

Students, quickly inform the teacher!

Have them arrange some soft cushioning (mattresses)... just in case!

Go quickly! I beg you all! Go quickly!

Qing Xin!

Please listen to big sister. Now, there are only two of us...

only two of us!

There's no one here.

What do you think of this?

I'll ask both of them to write a letter of guarantee.

To admit that they wrongly accused you.

Then, let the teacher prove your innocence.

If they write the letter now,

Others will say I pressured them into writing it!

Since there's no other way,

only death...

No, Qing Xin!

Sorry, big sister.

We'll meet again in the next life!

Qing Xin! Qing Xin!

Save me!

To the two of you, students,

whatever you do, have some restraint, so your future meeting can be good.

Whether Qing Xin destroyed your traditional dress, I

hope you will speak honestly.

Otherwise, good versus evil will eventually come to an end, and the truth will be known.

I can only save you once.

I can't save you the second time.

Do you understand?

We understand.

Let's go!

Alright! It's over! Don't ever do such a stupid thing again!

Do you understand?

Okay, okay.

This wound is unusual.

If it was caused by a weapon, then why

did the killer design such a strange thing?

Isn't it a waste of time? Wouldn't a sword or gun be faster?

Ming Xia, you have to remember one thing.

The victim died from one blow.

These five wounds were inflicted simultaneously on the victim's body.

Usually, in situations like these, there's only one possibility.

That is it was caused by the bites of a wild beast.

But, what kind of beast has four teeth on the top,

and only one tooth on the bottom?

I can't figure it out.

What do you want to say? Just say it!

Why are you holding back?

Did I ever mention to you,

before I went to medical college,

for a duration, I learned under a Professor Zhang from Zhabei district. (Zhabei is in central Shanghai)

I heard you mention this Prof Zhang before.

It seems that he's not focused in medicine,

but is focused in all sorts of weird nonsense;

that's why later you stayed away from him.

That's him!

Although some of the stuff he taught did not have scientific evidence,

but he did cure quite a number of people these past few years.

Should we ask for his opinion on this case?

In that case, hurry up and go work on it.

You do not understand him. There is no use for me to go.

He is such an egoistic person,

he will only come if the Chief Superintendent Ming

personally invites him, can we then be able to mobilize this big Buddha.

But... forget it!

Work is priority.

In that case, I will have to go myself.

When my girlfriend comes looking for me,

please pass this note to her.

I'm leaving.

Oh! Isn't this Madame Nie? Why did you come here?

I am here to ask Ming Xia out to lunch.

Where is he?

He... has an emergency task. He's left.

Stop making excuses for him!

He's purposely hiding to avoid me, right?

I wouldn't dare! Take a look!

Even for dating his girlfriend, he has just left a note.

What is written in the note?

- Let me see it. - That's not appropriate.

What is not appropriate?!

I've booked my time to meet them both for lunch.

What good coincidence! I'll bring the note over to her!

Okay.

I'll trouble you then.

Meet when I come back, off on duty.

No trouble at all!

I'll go then.

Go back to your work.

Okay, goodbye aunty.

Please come this way.

I am Ming Xia's mom.

Aunty Ming, how may I help you?

I heard that you lack money recently.

I am here to help you with your urgent need.

This is embarrassing! Thank you for your good intentions, but I cannot accept this!

You've been with Ming Xia for so long,

taking some money is what you should do!

Our family is a wealthy family.

What we need is an appropriate match (in terms of social status).

Having fun is okay,

but to be the legal wife

is not an easy matter!

Let's put it this way...

Our family's daughter-in-law must have a high social status

Not some random nobody

who can marry into our family.

Do you understand now?

Let me ask you. Is this Ming Xia's sentiment as well?

Or is this just your sentiment?

Naturally, this is our mother-and-son's shared sentiment.

Then, please allow him to tell that to me personally.

Miss Nie, may I advise you to take the easier path.

Miss Nie, in your family,

lately, aren't there lots of

problematic events?

I wondered why we were so unlucky lately.

So, you are behind all of the problems we faced!

Miss Nie, I have been a widow for a long time.

I only have one son.

For him, I can even forsake my own life!

So, I beg you to please be magnanimous and let him go!

Also to prevent me from doing more bad things

and accumulate too much sin.

Secondly.

just pretend that you sympathize

with this old woman, and leave me something to look forward to, will you?

Thank you for your good intentions,

but I've never been a very smart person.

In everything, I want to be very clear.

Ming Xia and I will manage our own relationship. Sorry to have caused you some disappointment.

Sirs,

I am looking for Chief Superintendent Ming Xia.

Please pass this message.

Chief Superintendent Ming Xia is not around. Come another day.

No. I must see him now!

Ming Xia! Come out!

I have questions to ask you!

- Ming Xia! - Miss, you can't enter!

Ming Xia, please come out and tell me that you won't treat me this way!

Go!

Ming Xia. Ming Xia!

He should be in the station at this time of the day.

He should be able to hear me since I shouted so loudly,

but why hasn't he come out?

Maybe it really is how his mother says..

Nie Qing Cheng,

looks like you were blind.

You misjudged a person.

He isn't the one you can live with for the rest of your life.

He isn't...

He isn't.

Big sis.

Qing Xin.

Dad, where are you guys going?

The landowner says he needs this house immediately.

Told us to first move out.

Earlier was fine, but today was so sudden.

Don't even know if this is done on purpose.

On purpose or not...

the house is theirs.

What can we do?

Thankfully, our family is still together

Whole, fully together.

There's no problem without a solution.

I believe, we will live better after this!

Daughter, Dad is useless!

I am unable to give you a good life.

Father feels sorry to both of you.

Father,

I should be the one apologizing!

It's me! It's me! It's me!

Stupid, child!

Alright, let's not put the blame on each other.

When we ran from Beijing in the past,

wasn't it the same situation?

No matter how bad it is, it cannot be any more worse.

We can do it again!

Dad, do you still remember the song you sang to us back then?

Come, let us walk and sing together; heading towards a better life!

♫Confused thoughts when I think, smiling whilst crying, holding your hand through heaven and earth♫

♫Flowers bloom, the wind gets drunk, because you are beside me♫

♫The vastness of life, is used for me to fall into your hands♫

♫The more I try, the more I can't get away from your gaze♫

♫The tenderness of life, is guarded in your heart♫

.

Everyone is here?

Xue Wu, I was hoping to meet you alone.

Why did you invite so many people?

Who are they?

Around this table

are men who have been pursuing me for over 3 years. I was thinking...

Instead of wasting everyone's time,

why not come to a conclusion now?- Xue Wu,

are you ready to choose one of us?- Perhaps, yes.

Perhaps, no.

Who knows?

But thank you all for pursuing me for so long.

If I say anything untoward later,

please be understanding.

Young Master Zhou,

you are Shanghai's most wealthy business heir.

You like to drink red wine, smoke cigars, and wear gold watches

as if you were so classy!

A few times, I almost fell for you!

So, what is lacking? Car? Mansion?

As long as you ask for it, I will give them to you!

Let the (lacking) distance between us close up.

Unfortunately, all of these are just a show.

You do not know how to appreciate red wine, only know how to be a glutton.

Your gold watch is fake and you don't even realize it!

I have high standards for a husband.

In the future, I don't want people to be saying that I married a bounder.

I have matters to attend to. We'll chat another day!

If you don't have the power, how could you even think of climbing a mountain.

Class is not something that can be achieved in a day or two.

Correct, Xue Wu?

Mr. Wang, show me your hand.

Looking at the oil stains on this hand you must like drawing, right?

Me? Sometimes.

Sometimes drawing and yet your hand has so many oil stains.

That is amazing!

I knew you loved drawing since you were young. You just want to be an artist,

but you bow to your family's arrangement and became a lawyer.

A person who can't even respect himself,

how can he respect his other half?

I...

It's my turn now.

Young Master Lee.

The reason why you pursue me is simple.

It's because you can't get me.

I've already become your 'distraction' for 3 years.

When will you go home and honestly tell your parents

that you actually like men?

Otherwise, it's a waste using all of your time and money

and never achieve real happiness. How boring!

At least, then we can be friends... Go out to the hair salon, drink tea together...

We can still be good friends.

See you again.

You are a well known doctor in the medical field.

I am also quite famous in the medical field.

I think we are the most suitable for each other, right?

- Dr. Bu, you... - What happened?!

Are you okay?

Mister, what is wrong with you?!

Don't go over! There are no proper medical supplies here. There will be consequences if you fail to treat him.

Looks like he is having seizures.

Heartbeat and palpitations are normal.

Quickly send him to the hospital. He can still be saved!

Miss Xue Wu, let's go.

Doctor Wu, you do not have any other weakness, but your medical ethics are bad.

You don't even have the guts to save a person, what is the use of becoming a doctor?

You-

Bye!

I-
