NARRATOR: That's when Pete
realized that Grumpy just

needed big brother lessons.

Hey, Grumpy.

You guys want to come surfing?

NARRATOR: Fortunately, Pete
knew just the big brother

to show Grumpy the way.

Grumpy, first, congrats.
That's amazing.

And second, I take
being a big brother

even more seriously
than I take surfing.

(SINGING) To be a big brother,
that's an important job.

But don't you worry
or fret, my friend.

It doesn't have to be hard.

You just gotta be kind and
try to be a good friend.

Always be patient and
treat him with respect.

Be there when you're needed,
and try to know when you're not.

be a tadpole when you come,

into big boy toads.

But, for now, it's bubble time
and story time and funny faces

time and helping mom time and
lullaby time and peekaboo time

and being patient
when you cry time

and I've got your nose
time, but not diaper time.

No, that's Dad's job.

So you see, Pete helped his
pal start on the adventure

of being a big brother.

And the trick is--

As you can see, our friend
Callie is making a model

volcano for the science fair--

well, trying to make one.

-Hey, Callie!

I entered the Cat

NARRATOR: Pete explained that
while it's cool that they all

had their own ideas
for Callie's volcano,

it was still Callie's volcano.

Pete has a point.

We should help Callie make
her idea of a volcano.

Yeah. Her grandma came all the
way from historic Wieselburg.

That's at least a bajillion
steps from here, or more.

Ah, oui, Callie.
How can we help?

OK, so I was trying to
say that I want my volcano

to look like this volcano.

So I need rocks.

We could get all the rocks.

I'll help her.

But if you use real rocks,

won't your model be too heavy?

Rocks-- check.

can you find me flowers
like the ones in this picture?

Sure. And since
flies hang out near flowers,

I can also get a snack.

I shall assist you,
except for eating the flies.

But the flowers, they will

kids were helping Callie

build a real nice volcano--

well, mostly real nice.

It's too heavy.

Aside from the huge flowers

and the rocks
being too heavy,

the model does look like it's
going to erupt real lava.

Rocks-- check.

Flowers-- check.

No lava-- no check.

I was so focused on the volcano,
I forgot about the lava.

Without it, this is just a
ton of rocks with big flowers.

What do we do?

It's not like you could
go to the lava store.

There is no lava

NARRATOR: You see, Pete had
been listening to the gang

even if Callie wasn't.

So he remembered that Gus knows
how to make real fake lava.

You do?

Gustavo did say something
about lava back when you told

us you didn't need new ideas.

Remember-- lava made
out of baking soda,

food coloring, and vinegar.
Voila.

[INTERPOSING VOICES]

Of course, we'll use a
lot more for the volcano.

mix it until it's time

for the lava to flow in the--

We're going to crush this.

OK, so let's lose some of
the rocks so we can move it.

[PLAYFUL MUSIC]

Wait! You can't mix it
until you need it.

ALL: No!

[VOLCANO RUMBLES]

[GASPS]

Oh no.

Is it over?

Completely over.

The rocks fell off, the
flowers are squished,

and I have no lava left.

It's just a paper mache hill.

My grandma loves volcanoes,
not paper mache hills.

[UPBEAT MUSIC]

ALL: (SINGING)
Don't get yourself

stuck on just one idea.

There's more than one path
that can get you there.

Take a lot of ideas.

Put them into a pot.

Cook 'em up together
and see what you got.

Just keep an open mind.

I'm Bonnie B., and
we are here at Cat

City's most anticipated event
of the year, the science fair.

Here to tell us
more is Cat City's

very own science expert, me!

The crowd is electric
today and not just

because this potato behind
me is generating electricity.

This tornado simulation has us
all spinning with excitement,

and there's still a final
presentation for us today--

the volcano!

Let's have a look.

What you see here is not
just any model volcano.

I wanted to make the perfect
volcano for my grandma,

and it didn't turn out so good.

But with the help of my friends,
we have made something better--

the Volcano Artistique.

A volcano is a mountain
that opens at the bottom

to lava that flows under it.

Lava is rock that's so hot
it turns into liquid and gas.

When pressure builds up,
gas bubbles are released.

And the volcano's rumbling can
sometimes cause an avalanche!

And then the volcano
erupts with lava,

or, as we call it,
la dance de la lava.

ALL: (SINGING) Ooh, ah, lava.

Ooh, ah, lava.

BONNIE: Things are
really heating up.

Never in the history of
Cat City science fairs

has lava been performed.

It's so artistic
and yet so real.

This is a presentation
this science expert,

reporter, and beloved
television personality

will not soon forget.

You all did so great.

I'm sorry I didn't
listen to you sooner.

We're happy to help, Callie.

Kiddo, that was something.

You know I love volcanoes,
and your volcano was so artsy.
