(December 31, 2020)

(Greeting us is a soft, gentle voice.)

(On Air)

Hello, I'm Kim Seon Ho, the host of "The Moment".

I hope you're just as well as always.

What used to be a mundane greeting...

has become a way of checking each other's health.

Some want a redo of the year 2020...

while some just wish for the year to be over.

But think about it though.

Despite the hardships,

I'm sure there were moments of happiness and awe...

this year as well.

Which moments come to mind for you?

In my case, I'm reminded of what helped me...

overcome these hard moments nonchalantly, and those are songs.

The genre that comes to mind first is none other than trot.

Trot music that brought tears and joy to the people...

celebrated its 100th year in the music industry.

(Cheering)

(He's adorable.)

Mentioning trot music...

immediately makes me think of...

artists like Second Aunt KimDaVi and Yu San Seul.

But that's not all they have in common.

It's the fact that they are at the heart of...

the trend of alter egos.

(Moment No. 2: Alter egos)

And when it comes to alter egos,

we can't forget the members of SSAK3 and Refund Sisters.

Their various charms and talents...

entertained our eyes and ears this year.

Just like celebrities with alter egos,

artists without them were just as busy.

From BTS to Park Jin Young,

many artists brought joy to us through disco music.

Their music was a breath of fresh air...

to our recent stuffy lives.

Our normal everyday activities...

became acts of aberrant behavior this year.

What if we were able to find comfort...

through music without actually realizing it?

I'm sure that those listening to me right now...

are spending these last moments...

alone while feeling confined and restricted.

However, just today, we'll forget about our burdens...

and enjoy the performances with heaps of joy.

Being able to convey your excitement and joy...

is my only goal.

(That's my only goal.)

Gosh, that was cheesy.

So here's to the first song...

that'll bring us the most magical moment of 2020.

Here it is.

("Play That Summer" by Juyeon of THE BOYZ,)

(Lia of ITZY, and Han of Stray Kids)

Yes!

Come on, yo.

("In Summer" by Younghoon of THE BOYZ,)

(YUQI of (G)I-DLE, Felix of Stray Kids)

("Summer Ocean Again" by Hyunjin of Stray Kids,)

(Won Young of IZ ONE, and Hyunjae of THE BOYZ)

("Perhaps Love" by Lim Yoon A and Kim Seon Ho)

Hello and welcome to 2020 MBC Music Festival: The Moment.

Joining you for six years straight...

is your host, Lim Yoon A.

Hello, everyone. I'm Kim Seon Ho here to make my debut...

as a show host on the 2020 MBC Music Festival.

It's truly an honor...

to be joining you all in this grand moment.

- But Yoon A. - Yes?

Is it just the two of us hosting the show today?

Of course not.

A very special and important someone has yet to be introduced,

so let's call him out.

- Come on out. - Come on out.

Hello, everyone.

Just like last year, I'm here to host...

the 2020 MBC Music Festival.

I'm MC Kyu, Jang Sung Kyu.

Yoon A, it's good to see you again this year.

- Likewise! - Right.

And the trending Seon Ho.

You showed us what you're made of in that opening performance.

The performance was truly amazing.

Seon Ho, how was it to perform with Yoon A?

I have to thank her...

because despite being nervous,

she helped me get through to the end.

I wouldn't have been able to if I were up here alone.

Yoon A, thank you for performing with me.

Gosh, don't mention it. You were so amazing...

that I'll remember this as a special moment in my life.

- Thank you. - You were great.

The 2020 MBC Music Festival has been given the title,

- "The Moment". - Right.

So what would be...

the best moment of yours in 2020?

For me, it has to be...

the birth of my second son.

- That's right. - It was the happiest moment.

- Congratulations. - Gosh, thank you.

Seon Ho, what about you?

In my case,

I remember all moments to be precious,

but being here with you two...

and hosting the 2020 MBC Music Festival this year...

will probably be a moment...

that I remember for years to come.

- Right. - Yoon A, what about you?

I guess it's the same for me. To be here...

hosting the MBC Music Festival for the sixth time in a row...

will be a moment that I'll definitely remember.

It's why we're prepared to bring our viewers...

the best moments of 2020 too.

Grand performances that you'll only be able...

to see on the 2020 MBC Music Festival will be presented,

so we hope you all look forward to them.

From powerful dance performances, a sweet vocal collaboration,

to a dance party that'll get you moving...

has been prepared for you.

Also, don't miss...

the never-seen-before duet that'll be showcased today.

We didn't know what you'd like to see,

so we prepared just about everything for you.

I already can't wait to see what's to come.

Then let's begin this most memorable show...

by introducing the artists who'll kick off the party.

The future of K-pop,

super rookie aespa.

Stray Kids,

the inventor of the extremely spicy K-pop style.

Also performing will be LOONA, the group known to be perfection.

2020 MBC Music Festival: The Moment.

Let's kick off this party.

I'd like to make an announcement before we begin.

To ensure the safety of everyone involved,

we strictly followed COVID-19 guidelines...

and pre-recorded all performances you'll be seeing today.

We hope you all know that.

So that you'll be able to safely enjoy this show,

we will stay vigilant.

(This was filmed in accordance with government guidelines.)

We're bringing you the show live...

from Ilsan MBC Dream Center.

From this moment until the bells ring...

to announce the new year,

we will be right here by your sides.

Here's to the last day of 2020...

that will never repeat itself.

Please enjoy these fantastic moments with us.

Taking the stage first is aespa.

Come on!

("Back Door" and "Ta" by Stray Kids)

What's up?

3, 2, 1. Let's go.

("Why Not?" by LOONA)

Goodness.

What should I do?

Why? What's the problem?

These three groups' performances were beautiful and amazing.

I'm so embarrassed that I was nervous during my performance.

- Don't be. - If...

I could turn back time, I would.

You're too humble, Seon Ho.

You're handsome...

- and an outstanding actor. - Thank you.

You were good at singing as well.

If I could turn back time,

- I'd like to be reborn as you. - Goodness.

- You're the best. - Both of you,

Sung Kyu and Seon Ho, are amazing as you are.

- Thank you. - Don't turn back time.

Just like these two who have amazing charms,

other groups who are just as charming...

are preparing for the next stage.

They're good-looking, charming, and talented.

They're ITZY, the perfect, wannabe idols,

and IZ ONE, the beautiful singers.

Wait. Before that,

let me tell you something that'll shock you.

- What is it? - What?

The most flamboyant girl group members...

have gotten together.

They've prepared a sexy stage...

and will captivate us with their gazes and dance moves.

Let's take a look right now.

Go!

Go.

(Early morning at SM headquarters)

(Two men are seen practicing early in the morning.)

(They are...)

(TEN from WayV...)

(and Shownu from MONSTA X.)

(These main dancers come together for a collaboration.)

(What was your best moment this year?)

I felt really happy when we released an album...

in the States and landed in the charts.

(MONSTA X landed on the Billboard Charts.)

We're doing online concerts these days.

- It's hard to meet our fans. - Right.

Through these online concerts, we were able to see each other.

It was heartwarming.

It's fun.

I have trust in you.

- I was at ease too. - It's fun.

(Meanwhile, at another practice room,)

(these girl group members are hard at work.)

((G)I-DLE, IZ ONE, and ITZY have come together!)

- Good work. - Good work.

Now that we've been practicing, don't you feel hungry?

- I'm hungry! - Yes, I do.

Would you like us to buy some food at the convenience store?

Really? Thank you.

Goodbye.

- I want some chocolates. - I want something sweet.

I like chocolates.

Don't you think they'll like fruit?

This looks good.

This looks tasty. Let's get two of these.

I didn't bring my wallet.

This will be my treat.

But you don't have a card, do you?

I don't need it as long as I recharge my account on this app.

Even if you don't have a card, recharge some money on this app,

and you'll be able to shop wherever you want.

Thanks for the food. Let's go.

This is my treat.

(They excitedly welcome them back.)

That looks good.

We bought chocolates as well.

- Well done. - Thank you.

It's so good.

This year has been tough,

but we're all hoping that next year will be better.

What kind of moments are you looking forward to?

Hearing the audience cheer.

Looking them in the eye.

Being able to be mask-free.

- That would be great. - That would be awesome.

(We hope your wishes will come true in 2021.)

- (G)I-DLE. - IZ ONE.

- ITZY. - ITZY.

We will be showing you the greatest time ever.

- Here we go. - Here we go.

("Reflection" by SOOJIN and SOYEON of (G)I-DLE,)

(Yu Ri and Min Ju of IZ ONE, Yeji and Ryujin of ITZY,)

(original song by Fifth Harmony)

("Intro" and "Panorama" by IZ ONE)

(Sangam MBC)

(2020 MBC Music Festival)

Seeing how amazing they are,

they could represent our country, not just the groups they belong to.

They showed their own colors...

while harmonizing perfectly as if they are a group of their own.

(G)I-DLE, IZ ONE, and ITZY created an amazing stage.

- I'm now starting to realize... - Yes?

that I'm a host of the 2020 MBC Music Festival.

I can feel the passion and energy in my skin. It's amazing.

Seon Ho, it's too early to be impressed.

We're only getting started.

Hot Keywords of 2020.

What type of music do you think made us most excited this year?

I know. Trot.

- That is correct. - Yes.

We have a trot performance prepared that will make you feel excited.

Guys, what kind of nation are we?

- Trot nation. - Trot nation.

That is correct.

We have the top four trot singers...

from the eight provinces of Korea.

They have prepared an exciting medley for us.

Everyone, are you ready to get excited?

Before that,

I'd like to talk about the man of the year in the world of trot.

- Which is? - My parents adore him very much.

Trot singer Lim Young Woong prepared a very special stage...

just for the 2020 MBC Music Festival.

Come on out, Young Woong.

My hero.

Hello, everyone. I'm singer Lim Young Woong.

Hello.

2020 has been an unforgettable year for me.

If I had to pick the most memorable moment,

I'd have to go with the concert where I met my fans.

When they said my music gave them a sense of comfort and courage,

I was deeply moved.

I think I have many happy memories.

I'd hear trot playing in the streets, on radio, and on TV.

At moments like that, I'd realize...

that trot is being appreciated by a lot of people nationwide.

As I look back on this year,

I'd like to deliver a message of comfort once again with my voice.

It's the highlight of this year sung in trot.

It starts now.

(The highlight of this year sung in trot starts now.)

(THE BOYZ)

(Uhm Jung Hwa)

A sunny day will return

- Hey! - Hey!

Hello. I am Yu San Seul's successor,

the great rookie, Kkan Pung Kyu.

A sunny day will return

I believe I have the trot DNA running in my body.

My body is reacting by itself.

Can you hold my hand?

Just like Kkan Pung Kyu showed us,

- trot is such a cheerful genre. - Right.

That's right. I believe that trot is a genre that can be enjoyed...

- by people of all ages and gender. - That's right.

"Go Away Age", "I'll Live in Style", "Sunny Day".

Just listening to the titles of the songs...

gives us a sense of refreshment.

Yes, it's really nice.

I heard that two of K-pop's representative performance groups,

who will get rid of all our stress like trot music, is waiting for us.

(G)I-DLE, who dominates the stage with their unrivaled...

charisma and skills.

All the members of this group are center visuals.

Handsome super rookies, THE BOYZ, are getting ready to perform.

- We mustn't relax at all. - That's right.

All of you should join me and keep your eyes wide open...

and gather in front of the TV.

("Oh My God" by (G)I-DLE)

("Intro" and "The Stealer" by THE BOYZ)

(2020 MBC Music Festival)

My gosh, I was totally immersed in those performances...

as if I was watching a captivating movie.

The gazes and the facial expressions...

in (G)I-DLE's performance were so memorable.

And THE BOYZ delivered...

a thrilling performance that felt like an actual running fight.

- I have to say, - Yes.

I truly envy all the artists who perform on stage.

Why is that?

My nickname is Paper Doll.

Oh, is it because you're perfectly handsome like a doll?

Look at you, openly bragging about your handsome face.

You were being modest at the beginning.

It's not easy to be this openly honest.

- I think I know why. - What's the reason?

Didn't you earn that nickname because of how you dance?

That's correct.

I'm a terrible dancer.

I'd love to give an awesome dance performance.

- It's one of my wishes. - Wow.

One of my New Year's resolutions...

will be becoming a better dancer.

I see. Seon Ho,

I really hope that you achieve that resolution in the new year.

Anyway, it's already time to wrap up Part One.

- Already? - Yes.

I'm sad to end the first part of the show like this.

I wish I could stop...

- the hands of time. - I know.

- But Yoon A, - Yes.

we should keep going to watch these performances.

Oh, who's on standby?

2020 MBC Music Festival: The Moment.

Incredible performances we've been saving...

for the end of Part One are waiting for us.

Yes, that's right.

What kinds of performances will we see next?

I'll give you a hint.

There's a genre...

that made the popularity of K-pop soar even higher around the globe...

this year.

It's none other than disco.

That's right. So we prepared...

a fun disco party.

We can't talk about disco without mentioning this artist.

- D, I, S, C, O - D, I, S, C, O

Our forever diva, Uhm Jung Hwa,

MONSTA X's Joohoney,

and other junior artists prepared this special disco party for us.

Yoon A, are you ready to enjoy this party with us?

Yes!

I can't wait to join this hip disco party.

But before that,

a highly sought-after celebrity instructor...

will teach us everything we need to know about disco.

- Shall we learn together? - Sounds good.

Let's meet our instructor now.

- Let's get it. - Let's meet her now.

Come on!

(Aunt KimDaVi, Everything About Disco)

- There she is. - Hello!

I have to be careful because of my joints.

Once you master disco, you can do any kind of dance.

Hold on a second.

Hello? Hello? Yes.

For real?

My TWICE nieces are throwing a disco party?

Then invite me too.

Yes, okay. I have to go.

I should go...

join TWICE's disco party.

And here's my love for you!
