Twisted Fate of Love

Episode 38

Don’t you want to know

how you died?

No.

I must’ve died for you.

Promise me.

If there’s a next time,

don’t save me anymore.

There won’t be a next time.

The power of the flute has been exhausted.

It can’t be used anymore.

From now on,

we’ll depend on ourselves.

I’m not scared.

Because when you’re with me,

that’s enough.

This is...?

I had Yurou’s things cleaned up.

She lived a hard life before she died.

I want her to die in a respectable way.

Before she died, she asked me

to keep this portrait carefully.

I should have been more careful.

Your Excellency.

You and Dongyue should have been

in this portrait.

But I am in it instead.

After I die,

do keep it carefully.

Promise me.

I promise you.

Pang Xi

Pang Xi This...?

She was considering for you,

even when she was dying.

Your Highness, this way.

Dongyue.

Are you getting better?

Much better.

Take this medicine

and you’ll get better soon.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Feng Xi was forced by Lu Yuantong.

Please don’t...

Feng Xi.

We should have a word.

Do you remember

we used to play chess

when we studied in the palace at a young age?

You’re playing it better

than you did before.

I’m always a better player than you.

But you often played tricks,

replacing chess pieces when I wasn’t noticing.

Your Highness.

Did I replace chess pieces this time?

I didn’t know you could

make a draw deliberately.

Isn’t it what you come for?

Seems like I got you wrong.

Not really.

I did like to replace chess pieces when I was little.

I mean Wen Ye.

I figured it out

Wen Ye was killed by Fang Yuan.

He’s destroyed the Instrument of Surrender.

To avoid punishment, Fang Yuan escaped and went missing.

All the time,

I’ve got you wrong.

If I had trusted you,

this wouldn’t have happened.

The result isn’t clear yet.

There’s still a chance to turn it around.

You proposed to make peace with me

and never interfere.

I wonder if you can keep your promise.

A promise is a promise.

I always keep my word.

Li Yurou

Yurou.

You asked me

to keep our portrait carefully.

But after thinking about it,

I’d better

let it go with wind,

just like the hatred and love

between us.

Yurou.

I fail to keep my promise

to you.

Wish you’ll have a good husband in your next life.

Yurou

Yurou Don’t meet a man like me again

Yurou

who can’t make you happy.

Forget Xi

That’s it.

Have you learnt it?

Yes.

Prince Xinyao.

Is this hairpin for me?

Do you like it?

What?

You don’t like it?

No, I like it.

If only Father could see it.

Your father would certainly see it.

How do you know?

Everyone we care for

will never leave us.

They live in our hearts

and make us strong.

In order not to keep them worried,

we should live a better life.

But...

If Mr. Wen sees

what you look like now...

He’ll be happy.

He will wonder

why his daughter

has become a nun.

Prince Xinyao.

I...

I will get married.

Wen Xin,

isn’t it too early

to think of getting married now?

I’m... I’m getting angry.

Fine. Fine.

Sorry. I’m sorry.

I won’t make fun of you.

Don’t be angry.

I’ll buy you something to eat, okay?

No. I’ll still be angry,

unless you promise me something.

What is it?

Wen Xin.

Upright and Graceful Learning martial arts isn’t fun.

Upright and Graceful

If you want to learn it well,

you must suffer.

Have you really made up your mind?

I’m not afraid of suffering.

I’m just afraid I’ll be too weak

to protect those around me.

Take the fan as your enemy

and punch it.

Good.

Keep it low.

Willpower comes before your punch.

Get power from the ground.

Keep your spine straight.

Relax your hand.

Keep it low.

Good. Go on.

Are you waiting for me

to tell you what it is?

This is the imperial jade seal

Lu Yuantong threatened you to give him

at the wedding?

Do you want to know

why I have it?

I just wonder

if it will get you in danger.

It will.

Then must you keep it?

Let me take you to a place.

These are memorial tablets of ancestors

of the Ming family.

What’s more,

there is a life-and-death secret.

You’re really from the Ming family?

More than that.

My mother is the eldest daughter

of the Ming family.

Tablet of Noble Consort Ming Yue She was the most favored Noble Consort.

Tablet of General Ming Qian

Tablet of General Ming Qian My father is

the emperor.

You are...

the Second Prince?

Tablet of General Ming Qian

You managed the trap painstakingly,

just to vindicate the Ming family?

No wonder you tried to reach the apex of power,

at all costs.

Since I saw my mother’s tragic death,

I’ve sworn to myself

that I would vindicate the Ming family

and make those people

who framed them up and killed them

pay the price.

These two tablets are...?

There were only four tablets here.

These are prepared for those who framed the Ming family up.

Marquis... Marquis An.

Yin Shi.

Minister Fang.

Lu Yuantong.

Are you scared?

You’ve already told me

your life-and-death secret.

Why should I be scared?

But...

But what?

But I don’t know your real name yet.

Pang Xi

This is my real name.

Pang Xi.

Pang Xi?

Eryu means Xi.

What?

Did I forget something again?

It doesn’t matter.

Whatever happens,

we will get back to each other.

As long as you don’t change.

Who told you I didn’t change?

How dare you change!

Haven’t you realized

I’m getting better?

Now,

I’m a man who can tell you

all his secrets.

Since you’ve known this secret,

you’d spend your life with me,

without looking back.

Do you regret?

I just told you.

You forgot again?

Maybe.

Why don’t you remind me?

I won’t regret.

I’ll stay with you all my life.

No one can change that.

Are you proposing to me?

Will you say yes?

Think about it carefully.

After you say yes, you can’t regret.

Since you propose to me,

I’ll force myself to say yes.

Force yourself?

You...!

You’re back in your room.

Go to bed early.

It’s such an important thing.

But he said he was forced.

How casual he was!

I shouldn’t have proposed to him.

The wedding dress is done. Please try it on.

Carriage is waiting outside the gate.

Dongyue.

When we first met,

you tried to steal the robe.

Thanks to it,

we saw each other.

a girl named Dongyue turned up.

In my chess game,

there was one more unexpected chessman.

On such a good night,

the ilex blooms.

Why don’t we call you

Dongyue?

When we first met,

we fought desperately.

I was lucky to experience life and death

with you again and again.

healed me,

but it made me lovesick.

The flute is singing again,

as it did when we first met.

I remember.

A piece of ilex

fell into your palm.

Then I came up with your name.

The tattoo on my chest

was also made by you.

I remember you like butterfly kites

and lotus-seed soup with chrysanthemum sauce.

I remember Moon Garden represents

I’m willing to be grounded for you.

I’ve remembered everything about us

and every moment we’ve spent.

Like I said,

I’m now a better me.

I lied to you,

making you love me and hate me.

I also forgot you,

making you aggrieved.

Now,

I just want to grow old with you.

There’s a price to pay

when having a time travel.

You lost your memories...

No matter what price I have to pay

or how difficult the road ahead is,

I only want to spend the rest of my life with you.

Dongyue.

Could you let me take care of you?

This time,

you’re not forced?

You proposed to me first,

and that made me forced.

I should be proposing

to you.

Well,

it’s my turn to feel forced.
