(Episode 109)

Bob, did anything happen?

Well,

Sang Ho did call earlier.

Did you answer it?

He said that he'll kill you,

but spare your life if you show up sooner.

- Did you play dumb? - Of course.

Good.

Keep telling him that and I'll call tomorrow.

He sure has a big mouth for a wanted fugitive.

Bang Seok,

there's no way I'm seeing you again.

(Motel)

Shin Da Hee,

how dare you run with my money.

Just wait till I catch you.

Darn it.

Darn!

Ho Young!

(Dad)

The person you have reached is unavailable.

Please leave a message after the beep.

(Newly Appointed CEO Flees)

(Kim Sang Ho is accused for laundering black money.)

What a fool.

Oh, gosh.

- Good morning. - You're up.

Did you sleep well?

I did.

You probably didn't judging by how I couldn't either.

I drank some tea to help me go to bed.

Maybe you should've too.

The children must be wondering about their father.

They probably are,

but can't bring themselves to ask me.

(Money Managed by Kim Sang Ho's Mistress)

"SD Corporation".

"Money Managed by Kim Sang Ho's Mistress".

"Newly appointed CEO Kim Sang Ho..."

"is on the run with accomplice and mistress Shin Da Hee."

- Is it good? - It is.

Da Hee? I haven't seen her at all.

Is she here too? Where is she?

Hi, Ho Young.

Are you here with your Dad?

What was that?

The sound came from Ho Young's room.

I'll see what it's about.

What's wrong?

It's nothing.

Did you read the papers?

His face is plastered on the front page.

I didn't want to read it,

but I couldn't help myself.

I see.

It says that Aunt Da Hee is his accomplice...

and also his mistress.

How embarrassing...

and sick is that?

I can't believe...

they'd disclose that information too.

If only they had the hearts to spare our family's pain.

Dad must have read this too.

Would he stop to think that me or Ah Young could read it?

I doubt it.

Darn. Don't they have anything better to write about?

How can I have a mistress when I'm divorced?

What a bunch of idiots.

I should enlist in the military as soon as possible.

Ho Young,

that isn't a place where you go and hide.

You should go on your own accord when the time is right.

If I could,

I'd like to be...

handled roughly by a senior officer.

Don't be absurd.

If it was possible to,

I'd instead volunteer to be questioned.

Do you reckon that would relieve me of the shame...

and embarrassment?

Are all the reporters a bunch of incompetent losers?

They should be writing about the real matter at hand.

Darn it!

Why aren't they reporting about Da Hee's betrayal?

Isn't that the major news here?

How could no one write about how I was betrayed?

They're trying to manipulate the public.

What's going on?

Articles on Sang Ho made headline today.

Mostly about how he fled...

and how Da Hee is his mistress.

My gosh.

Ho Young read that?

Yes.

He probably still thought that she was his aunt.

Now he knows the truth.

I bet he wants to punch something hard.

How on earth did Sang Ho dodge the police?

He was notified as they entered the building.

I don't understand how they could be this sloppy.

Tell me about it.

Thank you.

Today's newspaper, please?

Yes, Ma'am.

Bye.

It's always best to hide in plain sight.

In a hotel right in the heart of Seoul.

No one would even guess to look here.

Hello?

I have your fake passport.

Good job. What's my nationality?

You're an Indonesian by the name of Nancy.

Bring it to me right now.

Do you have my money?

Of course.

If it's of good quality, I'll even give you extra.

I'll be there in an hour.

Don't get caught.

I now have a new identity and a new passport.

What's left is for me to enjoy my time here.

Finally, I'm almost done with my dreaded life in Korea.

Although, sticking around Sang Ho had its benefits...

since I'm now way richer than I was before.

This looks good.

I wouldn't even last a week on this.

I need to find Da Hee.

I should've been less occupied with my inauguration ceremony.

First, I need my money,

so where do I start looking for her?

Hang on.

Where are the children?

Ah Young's sleeping in today.

Ho Young read...

today's newspaper.

Oh no.

I meant to tuck it away,

but I forgot to out of anger.

Sang Ho's name and face are all over the front page.

The articles even go into detail about his relationship with Da Hee.

You should've read the headlines.

Well, they didn't make anything up.

It's what it is.

The kids were bound to find out sooner or later.

If only they had a less mess of a father.

The children seemed depressed yesterday.

Of course they are.

They weren't particularly fond of their father,

but they didn't deserve to witness this.

It's my fault.

I should've recognised...

what kind of a man he was,

so I'm the one to blame.

Don't blame yourself.

If that's the case, then I'm to blame too.

Me too. We're all in the same boat.

He should be punished for his crimes,

so you have to stay strong through it all.

I don't care what people say about me.

I just don't want my children to be mocked for his mistake.

Anyway, let's eat.

We'll need our strength to take care of them.

Of course.

My gosh. Money laundering?

Kim Sang Ho, you pig!

Gosh.

Don't read it. It will only spike your blood pressure.

Why didn't you take it inside like always?

I was too shocked to do anything after reading it.

He surely made a mess of things this time.

I'm ashamed and embarrassed too.

- Gosh. - Unbelievable.

Ah Young seemed very depressed yesterday.

One bad apple can spoil the whole barrel...

and he's a rotten one.

You should help Ah Young get through this.

I will.

Bring her home if you meet her today.

I'll make her mandu jeongol.

When will you have the time?

I'll help, so bring her over if you can.

All right.

This is hard for us adults to even take in,

so the children will be devastated.

My gosh. Don't I know it.

- Well, I'm off to work then. - Sure. Have a good day.

You piece of garbage.

I'd like to talk Dad into turning himself in.

Is there a way I can reach him?

Not that I know of.

Mum, we're good. You should hurry off to work.

All right. Go and eat breakfast then.

Let me know if you hear from Dad.

- I will. - Me too.

Of course.

Sang Ho,

you may have pretended otherwise,

but you're nothing but a coward.

Do you even realise how much you've hurt our kids?

I bet your only concern is about how you can save yourself.

- Did you bring it? - Of course.

Here you go, Nancy.

You were born in the same year.

Bob, I knew you'd deliver.

Thanks a lot.

Here's your bonus.

It'll be easier to leave the country by sea.

You should first head over to Japan.

Anywhere's fine, as long as I can leave Korea.

Did Sang Ho call again?

He kept calling all night asking for you,

but I played dumb.

Good.

Keep it up until I leave the country.

All right.

I think it's best for Dad if he's caught sooner than later.

Do you really believe that?

A CEO just like him fled the country...

only to have been found two years later.

He died in China from depression and heart failure.

Where did you hear that?

Han Sol told me.

Dad's story can only end in a tragedy from here on out.

It serves him right for abandoning us.

You did nothing wrong,

so stop blaming yourself and live your life.

I will too.

I'll try.

I don't know the number, so it must be Sang Ho.

(Speaker)

Hello?

Bob, is it okay to talk?

What's wrong? I just woke up.

Did Da Hee contact you?

No,

and I bet she won't.

She's completely off the grid.

You're still of use to her.

Well, she hasn't called.

She will soon.

She'll ask you for a fake passport and...

a safe ride out of the country.

Tell her that I need to see her and that I want my money back.

If she doesn't comply,

I'll follow her to the ends of the earth.

What was that?

Wasn't that Da Hee snorting?

She does that all the time.

I don't know what you're talking about.

It must've come from the TV.

Are you two together?

Why would we be?

Lie to me...

and I'll murder you with her.

Whatever. Just make sure you're not caught.

Something's fishy.

This is the list of pending issues that was drafted for the new CEO.

I see.

Sang Ho didn't even get to read it.

I guess it was meant for another.

You should attend to each issue and...

make sure employees and consumers are no longer disappointed.

I will.

Sir, I'm sure this is a lot to handle.

I'll do my best.

- Don't worry, Father. - Sure.

Take care of the rift Sang Ho caused among the board members.

I will.

If Sang Ho calls you again,

contact the police right away.

I will.

Once I arrive in Japan,

I'll withdraw the money from my Swiss bank account.

Let's empty it all.

I'll make it worth your while.

Okay.

You should get going.

Just remember to check if you're being followed.

Don't worry.

Sir...

Darn it!

Who dates out in this weather? I bet you two won't last.

I'll call you.

Now that I have a passport,

I can finally move about freely.

I'll go shopping and eat at a fancy restaurant.

How sweet is that?

I'm now back as Vice Chairman.

I didn't have to vacate my office.

It would've been sad to see our project go to waste.

- This is the recent report. - I see.

We'll continue with the research we put on hold.

Of course.

That reminds me,

Li Na's getting married.

What?

- Hello? - Hi, it's Li Na.

She was looking for a wedding hall,

so I gave her Eun Hee's number.

Eun Hee will help her book the hall and set her up with a dress.

It's a little bit out of the blue though.

It only took her a few weeks to find herself a husband.

This wedding would be her fourth.

Her fourth?

That'd be great. Come by in the afternoon.

Of course. I'll be happy to help.

All right.

I'll see you then.

Li Na? The singer Li Na?

That's right.

Didn't she just divorce?

Who cares?

Korea's top diva will wear our dress!

It's not a done deal yet.

It's good that she's coming.

Once the consultation starts, she'll instantly become a fan.

Of course.

One wedding is exhausting enough.

Where does she find the energy?

Tell me about it. She's already printed the invites.

She must be in a hurry.

Anyway, that's the best news I've heard in a while.

Look who it is.

What?

If it isn't Shin Da Hee.

I saw you on the papers.

Please say it in English.

You look just like her.

Could you be her sister or something?

Sorry, I can't speak Korean.

Don't you know Kim Sang Ho?

I'm sorry.

What's wrong with her?

Over here.

Kim Sang Ho's mistress he ran off with...

I see you read that in the papers.

- She was here a moment ago. - Really?

I can't believe someone recognised me in disguise.

Also, why did it have...

to be that bimbo?

She sure has good eyes for one.

Darn it.

I'm certain it's her.

She was in disguise,

but I have good eyes.

Really?

I'm annoyed to even think about her.

Should I call the police?

Don't bother with that.

I'm sorry for introducing Mr Kim to you.

Next time, I'll set you up with someone better.

It's not your fault.

So why did you want to see me?

It's already in motion,

but I need someone to buy a building.

A building?

That's who a true leader is

President Park, you seem happy.

Of course I am.

Finally, the sun...

is shining upon us.

Kim Sang Ho was like the pungent odour that...

needed to be gone.

You're right.

I'm off to see CEO Na. Why don't you join me?

- Sure. - Let's go.

Come in.

Come on in.

We're here for a cup of coffee and...

to discuss a few things.

- Please have a seat. - Sure.

It's freezing.

- Sir. - Did anyone...

Did anyone follow you?

No, I took precaution by switching numerous buses.

Have a seat.

I think Kim Sang Ho is in contact with Manager Hwang.

Manager Hwang?

I asked some friends about his whereabouts.

- And? - Recently he put...

a building worth a mint out on the market...

which in fact is not in his name.

It was done in secret with the help of big investors.

Doesn't that seem suspicious to you?

It does.

Gosh, it's cold.

How are things at the company?

You've been suspended for your position...

and Na Min Soo was appointed as interim CEO.

What?

I've been barely gone a day.

The court immediately granted President Park's request.

Unbelievable!

Hwang doesn't have buildings in his possession.

His wife fell ill last year and...

he took out a big loan using his house as collateral.

He's absolutely right.

Kim Sang Ho made it his mission to know about these things.

What?

It's not by accident that he knew...

everything about everyone on the board.

No wonder he recorded my father's conversation.

I'm sorry about that.

A building that's not in his name?

It could actually belong to Sang Ho.

It has to be.

President Park is acting like it's his world now.

I just want to wipe that big smile off his face.

I knew he'd be like that.

Choi Choong Bok's saying that he's a victim too...

and has been running around trying to win over your people.

Those two little brats!

Manager Hwang has put a building out for sale,

but he doesn't own an expensive one like that.

According to President Park, it most likely is Sang Ho's.

- One that's not in his name? - That's right.

Do you know anything about it?

No, I don't.

He and Da Hee embezzled millions.

Of course he bought a building too.

Manager Hwang must be acting as his proxy.

Sang Ho is in no position to leave the country...

and would need help to get by.

It most likely would be Hwang.

You're right.

Back at the company,

everyone thinks you're hiding with Ms Shin.

Is that true?

Of course not.

It's because of her I'm in this mess.

Hee Ae told me that...

she ran into someone at the hotel who looks like Ms Shin today.

What?

- Which hotel? - At the S Hotel downtown.

- S Hotel? - Yes.

- When was this? - Around noon.

Okay, thanks.

Sell my building as soon as you can and get me some cash.

Two million... No, just get me the down payment...

- and pocket the rest. - What?

Hurry up though. I'll get going now.

Take care. I'll be in touch.

I'm back.

What took you so long to get back?

I'm sorry.

You've got to be kidding me.

Do you know who Kim Sang Ho is?

Sorry?

He's Papa Group's CEO that fled with the money he embezzled.

Being compared to him is the biggest insult.

I've never heard of him before.

He's a coward,

so don't you ever be an owner like him.

Welcome.

Hae In.

Hi, Ho Young.

What brings you by?

I thought I'd drop by to see you.

Me too.

Go on and have a seat then.

Kim Sang Ho seems to be the talk of the town.

More here because it's Papa's subsidiary.

I see.

Still, how could she say that to him?

Everyone at Papa Group is enraged with him too.

He ruined our image and...

made our stock price plummet.

He also ran away during his inauguration.

It doesn't surprise me knowing how audacious she is.

Why didn't I think of that?

She's always been fond of S Hotel.

Hiding in plain sight?

That does sound like her.

(Here Comes Loves)

What if he freezes to death while sleeping outside in the cold?

I'm the CEO of Papa Group for crying out loud.

How's Ho Young?

I can't stop worrying about him.

I'm Oh Woo Ju.

I'll set you up on a date sometime.

I heard that you're liquidating a building.

Are you still helping Sang Ho out?

Just so you know, you're now an accomplice.

How did my life come to this?

How long can I possibly last?

I'm sorry, but I can't help you any more.

Director Hwang!
