(Episode 103)

Who...

was appointed?

Well...

It was close.

Only a 0.5 percent difference.

Kim Sang Ho was appointed as CEO.

I see.

What you're saying is serious crime.

It's enough to arrest him.

We should question him again as soon as we can.

Look into who really owns the company...

and how much cash was transferred in total.

Yes, of course.

SD Corporation?

(Papa Group Annual General Meeting)

You, the shareholders,

have written history today.

I, Kim Sang Ho,

will lead Papa Group in an unexpected direction.

Old customs will be discarded...

and new...

innovative and aggressive research will be at the centre.

As your new CEO, I will...

I object!

This entire vote is one big swindle.

Newly appointed CEO Kim Sang Ho...

sold trade secrets to our competitor Mama's...

to swing the shareholders' vote in his favour.

I can't accept this.

I call for this vote to be invalid!

Get him out of here.

What?

Let go. Let go of me!

Let go.

It's him you should drag out.

He's the one who rigged this vote.

Kim Sang Ho, you fraud!

Let go of me.

Let go.

Get your hands off me.

Please calm down.

This is unfair and unjust.

You can't let that thug take over the group.

A few researchers at Mama's admitted Sang Ho's involvement.

It's our recipe that they have.

We need to report to the police...

and have Sang Ho arrested immediately.

If he is the one to blame, then he will be punished.

Will be?

You know he'd find a way out of it.

While we played clean,

he played dirty to rise to the top.

We can't beat him by letting things run its course.

We'll lose any ground...

if we drop to his level.

So clean is the way we go.

Going at him now will only hurt you.

Don't worry about me.

I'm done with this company anyway...

if that scum is its CEO.

Park Young Sik.

It's good you brought it up.

You were first to be replaced anyway.

So how about you just quit?

You piece of garbage.

You're not CEO yet, so don't get comfortable.

In a week, I'll prove your criminal involvement.

I won't let you sit in the CEO's office.

There's no way I'd ever be fired by someone like you.

My gosh.

You short-tempered,

narrow-minded stupid little git.

Go to your office and start packing.

Mr Kim.

You're yet to be inaugurated, so hold off on the changes.

Min Soo,

you should make sure your people don't act up like him.

- You scum! - Be careful.

We should go.

We should go.

This way.

Can you take my dad and head home first?

Of course.

He probably heard the news...

and I'm worried it might affect his health.

Don't worry and take care of things.

- I'll take him home. - Thank you.

A researcher friend at Mama's...

said that they received a recipe a few days ago.

One that they never even worked on.

We need more than his testimony.

To take down Sang Ho, we need hard evidence.

Give me some time.

I've been talking to the researchers there...

and it won't be long before I persuade them to come forward.

Sure.

Kim Sang Ho is not worthy of the position.

He committed a crime to get appointed.

So hang in there.

Thank you.

Excuse me.

Min Soo.

You're here.

Min Soo.

Kim Sang Ho. Kim Sang Ho!

Sir, congratulations.

You all did well.

Congratulations, Sang Ho.

Hang on.

Call me "Sir" around the office.

Yes, of course, Sir.

Am I now Vice Chairman?

- We'll talk about this later. - Sure.

Thank you for all your hard work.

I hope you'll keep showing him the same support.

See you around.

Who is she?

Well...

She's Mr Kim's cousin.

Jung Hoon,

you need to get on my good side now...

since I'll be back at Papa Group any time soon.

I'm sorry for looking so weak.

Don't be.

What do I say to Father?

Sun Young must be disappointed too.

I don't think I can face them.

No one could've won against Sang Ho.

Not unless that someone played as dirty as he did.

Now that I've lost,

I feel like I should've done anything in order to win.

I didn't know I'd be this devastated.

Your father said that sometimes losing is winning.

This just wasn't our time.

Honey, you tried your best.

Don't call me that any more.

Aren't you glad your husband won?

Think about our kids. They're better off...

with me as the CEO.

You're not my husband, so don't act like you are.

It's not too late to change your mind.

You'll automatically be the lady of Papa Group.

I'll even let you keep your position.

We'll go through the divorce as planned.

Sign the papers now...

or I'll hire an attorney and file for divorce.

Won't you regret it?

Never.

Sun Young must be as devastated as you are.

You should comfort her first.

I will.

I'll see how your father's doing.

Thank you.

Fine. I'll give you your divorce.

I don't want to be known as the CEO who got dumped,

so it's best if we agreed to terms.

Now you're talking.

Only on one condition though.

What's that?

You'll relieve yourself from this position.

Forfeit your right to be reassigned...

and I'll sign the papers.

Fine. I'd gladly agree.

You won't be relocated to an overseas branch either.

We're getting divorced. Why do you care...

where I go from here?

I want you to learn just how generous I was as a husband.

It'd be fun to see you regret ever divorcing me.

Anything would be better than living as your wife.

Who cares about Europe? I'll gladly give up the chance.

Do you hate me that much?

As the new CEO, keep your word...

and sign the papers like you agreed to.

Fine. I'll sign them now.

Now for the latest business news.

Kim Sang Ho was appointed as the new CEO...

at Papa Group's general meeting.

What?

With 22.5 percent of the shareholders' vote,

he was appointed as their new leader.

- My gosh. - Mr Kim...

- No way. - promises innovative and...

- Father. - Eun Hee, come on in.

Have a seat.

- Are you all right? - Of course.

How are Min Soo and Sun Young?

- They're devastated. - I see.

(Application for Divorce)

I'll hand them in for processing today,

so meet me later at the courthouse.

Sure.

My gosh.

So here's where you two were.

Don't enter my room without permission.

Don't be like that.

It'll soon be my room,

so I came to look around.

It's mine till he's inaugurated, so get out.

Fine, of course. As you wish.

Oh my.

Are you finally divorcing?

Yes. Sun Young begged me to sign the papers.

Congratulations.

Starting today, you're now a single woman.

Used, but still single.

Anyway, it'll be better than being married.

You own five percent of Papa Group's shares,

so you're all set financially.

Yes, I guess you're right.

I trust that you'll vacate the room in a week's time.

I'm eager to call it mine.

Sang Ho, let's go.

One more thing.

Father, we should head home now.

You need to rest.

No, I'm good.

I'll stay and discuss our options with...

Min Soo and Sun Young, so head home without me.

They're too ashamed right now...

to look you in the eye.

I thought that was the case.

I see.

Why don't you head home and prepare something comforting for dinner?

I'm sure they're in much need of it.

What would they like?

Let me think. On a day like this...

You know, their mother used to make sujebi on cold days.

I'm now suddenly craving for some.

How did you know that sujebi was my specialty?

Is it?

My wife would make sujebi and...

watch our children in awe as they ate it.

I'm sure that a bowl of that would bring back fond memories.

I'll head home first and see you at dinner.

Sure.

As if she could survive without me.

I see you're seeing each other openly now.

I am a shareholder after all.

It's good I ran into you.

Our arrangement with Ohsung Group is over.

That's news to me.

On my authority, all projects with Ohsung will be cancelled.

You're the CEO, so have at it.

Just be ready to pay for damages.

I'd love to,

so get out of my company and never come back.

It's astonishing how one CEO can bring down a company.

Look at you parading around with your mistress.

- Mistress? - What?

We all know the nature of your relationship,

so stop lying about it. It's disgusting.

Don't call each other your cousin either.

Can't you hear everyone laughing at you?

Why you little...

She's your mistress and what you had is an affair.

You suit each other, if you ask me.

You're both conniving and awfully brazen.

If only there was a contest for this sort of thing.

You'd be the obvious winner.

Shut up!

You don't like hearing that?

Embarrassed are we?

We're not anything you claim us to be.

Sang Ho signed his divorce papers...

and will soon marry me.

Da Hee!

Well, you are.

I can't believe such a dimwit is the leader of Papa Group.

I'm embarrassed for everyone.

One more thing.

Thanks to you, I recently became a shareholder.

So from now on, I'll be keeping a close eye on you.

At every general meeting, I'll make your life miserable.

Keep that in mind. All right?

You jerk.

You tried your best.

I'm sorry for not letting your vote matter.

Do you know that SD Corporation voted for Sang Ho?

Da Hee was here as its CEO's proxy.

Really?

I think it was founded to use against us someday.

I wonder what they do.

I'll look into it for you.

Thank you.

Sang Ho will shake up all existing operations.

His condition...

for signing the divorce papers...

was me leaving the company.

Unless it's with you, I plan to do no business here.

Our project might be cancelled.

Don't worry about that...

and get some rest for now.

You probably need it.

Sure.

Choong Bok.

Mother!

I thought you said it was only for a few days.

Mother,

did CEO Kim call?

Call?

He doesn't answer any of my calls or texts.

That's not possible.

Of course it is.

I even went by to see him,

but he was too occupied with himself...

to have the slightest time for me.

What are you going to do now?

Your children are so worried that they're coming back to Korea,

so how long do you plan on staying here?

Come in.

I'm sorry, Father.

It's not your fault.

You've only been with the company for a month...

while Sang Ho has worked here for 20 years.

It's not just the 20 years.

He played dirty in order to swing the vote.

The fight still isn't over.

We'll get him next time.

Of course.

Eun Hee went home to cook dinner for us.

We should go.

- Okay. - Sure.

Hello, Jung Hoon.

What?

All right.

Mr Choi's mother is here to see me.

Really?

I'll see what she wants.

You do that.

- This is Mr Na Min Soo. - Hello.

Could you get us some coffee?

Of course.

Please have a seat.

How can I help you?

Could you...

please talk to my son?

- Sorry? - There's something he wants to say.

Sang Ho just signed the divorce papers.

Did he?

I finally feel like I'm free from the weight on my shoulders.

Good.

You can forget everything that happened...

and live your own life like you want to.

I will.

You should head home first.

I'm going to the station to meet Choi Choong Bok.

- Really? - Yes.

- I'll tell you everything later. - Sure.

I should get going too.

I want to file for divorce today.

- You do that. - See you at home.

Sir,

the Prosecutor's Office called.

Regarding what?

They're bringing you in for questioning tomorrow.

I see.

It'll be a closed investigation though.

That I appreciate.

It's best if we...

don't tell my children what's going on.

Yes, Sir.

Would you be okay considering your condition?

I'll be fine.

Anyway, you should head home for the day.

Yes, Sir.

Aunt Eun Hee, what is all this?

I'm making sujebi for dinner.

- You'll need to make a dough. - Right.

Could I give you a hand?

That I'd appreciate.

Hi, Ho Young.

How did it go at the general meeting?

Your uncle lost.

So Dad won.

Did you want Min Soo to win?

To be honest, yes.

Ho Young, have you ever cooked?

- Yes, of course. - Really?

Would you like to help me make sujebi too?

Two orders of four boxes...

Hi, Bok Soo.

Come on in.

Did you hear the news?

I did. It was on the news.

I can't believe that thug is Papa Group's new CEO.

My gosh.

I'm upset just thinking about it.

I can't imagine how devastated...

Min Soo and Eun Hee would be.

This would've broken their spirits.

That thug won't be up there for long though.

I've seen many bad people try to rule the world,

but they all end up punished.

Besides, when they finally die,

they never get to rest in peace.

So I should wait until he's dead?

Just be patient for now.

He'll get what's coming.

Meanwhile...

Here. I hope this cheers you up.

You're right. It's too early to be defeated.

I'm staying alive and healthy until he meets his demise.

Of course.

Drink up.

I met your mother.

I see.

You seem...

to be waiting for Sang Ho.

However,

he won't be of any help.

He's surrounded by those kissing up to him.

I hear that they're eager to leave you hanging...

since you're a threat to them.

You know that...

Sang Ho would do fine without you by his side.

That's not possible.

For Kim Sang Ho.

- Cheers. - Cheers.

- Let's drink. - Thank you for your support.

Today, we'll drink all night.

- Pour me another. - Yes, Sir.

You're not just ruining your life by being here.

Your children didn't receive any payment this month.

Mr Kim said he'd take care of them.

I don't know how deep your loyalty lies,

but it's time to wake up.

What I want from you is the truth.

Tell me the truth...

and I'll have you released.

We already know that...

he leaked our recipe to Mama's.

What?

As for the illegal recording,

you'll be released for lack of evidence anyway.

Mr Choi,

think about your family.

Once you're prosecuted, you'll be in jail for at least a few months.

You might even be found guilty.

Please enjoy.

- Thank you. - Thank you.

Hang on a second.

They're holding a photo contest,

so let's take one and enter.

Okay.

All right.

Here we go.

If only we actually won.

I'd like that too.

I was furious of the general meeting vote.

I know what you mean.

That lady, Shin Da Hee. Principal Kim's cousin.

She's not his cousin.

What?

That's just how it is.

You should've seen her gloat.

It's like she's the queen or something.

Ms Na fired her, but she said she's coming back.

Unbelievable.

CEO Na is retiring and Ms Na will be quitting.

It won't be fun to work at Papa Group any more.

Maybe I should change jobs.

What?

If Sang Ho was decent,

he wouldn't leave you hanging like this.

- Cheers. - Cheers!

There are so many projects I've been wanting to take on.

What is the purpose of a company?

It's to raise its share price...

and make its shareholders happy.

I'll now take on any project that brings in money.

We'll branch out to...

soju, entertainment and construction.

Papa Group is big enough for it all.

- Of course. - Sure thing.

With those who share my vision,

it's time I bring the group up a level.

- Yes, Sir - Of course.

- Pour me another. - You're amazing, Sir.

Mr Choi, it's time to wake up.

Think about your family.

Mr Choi,

Mr Na said...

he'd wait for you, so what'll it be?

Let me talk to him again.

I thought I'd pass out from anger once I came home,

but sujebi sure picked me up.

Don't be ridiculous. It's too early to give in.

I guess this is the power of family.

I had no appetite,

but I feel much better now that I've seen my children.

I'm glad.

Thank you for dinner.

Min Soo and I enjoyed this a lot as children.

Especially on cold nights.

So it's your favourite.

I'll help Eun Hee and make it often from now on.

Cooking with my kids is something...

that I wasn't able to do.

They followed instructions really well.

I had a blast.

It's delicious.

- Is it? - It sure is.

Hurrah!

I want nobody, nobody but you

Keep going!

I want you, no one else but you

I want nobody, nobody, nobody, nobody

- All right. - Why are you trying

To make me leave you

- Why aren't you listening? - Nice!

How can I just love someone else

And forget you completely?

Who is he celebrating with...

when I'm the one who made him CEO?

That prick.

Just wait till he gets back.

Who's this?

Hello?

It's Choi Choong Bok.

What? When did you get out?

Can I talk to CEO Kim?

He's busy out celebrating with his most trusted allies.

Anyway, how did you get out?

The charges were dismissed.

Please let him know I called.

He's not picking up.

Fine.

That's weird.

I wonder how he got out.

Choi would've been arraigned tomorrow,

but I dropped the charges for the sake of his mother.

He's been disappointed with Sang Ho for a while.

I think he's ready to be persuaded completely.

Stay in contact with him...

and get as much information on Sang Ho.

I can't believe Sang Ho wouldn't even visit him in jail.

Of course he's disappointed.

If Director Park is right,

then it's enough to have Sang Ho arrested.

I'm worried about the children though.

This isn't something we can let slide.

If he committed a crime, he should be punished.
