Twisted Fate of Love

Episode 32

Greetings, Father.

What brings you here?

My investigation shows

that Lu Zhengming is back in the capital.

And I’ve tracked down the mastermind

behind his attack.

Lu’s Mansion

Sorry to keep you waiting.

Your look tells me

there’s more good news.

Assassins of Eagle

were brought to justice

for attempted murder as you expected.

After what Young Master Lu went through,

it’s time for him to go home

and rest.

His Majesty said so, too.

But this time,

I’ve paid a huge price

that my son’s life is ruined.

Someday,

they’ll pay a bigger price.

That can’t be achieved

without your assistance.

I’m willing to help.

I can

use your help right now.

Don’t you remember

what you and my son’s meeting was for

and why he was badly injured?

Is it about the Instrument of Surrender?

That day,

our lives were on the line.

I could barely protect the two of us,

let alone

secure that file.

Listen,

our lives depend on it.

Only if I see it

will I be relieved.

I’ve had men look for it.

Once it turns up,

I’ll let you know

and we can discuss the next step.

I’m counting on you.

Lu’s Mansion Are you really going to

Lu’s Mansion let the caged tiger out?

Lu’s Mansion

A caged tiger

can still bite.

Xi,

are you afraid?

I’m talking about the Third Prince.

Dividing Minister Fang from Lu Yuantong

is good for us,

but I mean no harm to the others.

Don’t forget

they can bite

as hard as tigers.

I know the Third Prince well.

Besides,

as a snake,

I can bite back, can’t I?

Greetings, Your Highness.

Assassins have been executed,

marking the end of Lu Zhengming’s case.

I’m not going to thank you, though.

I’m not used to being thanked either.

I’m just glad

we’re even now.

But you’ll forever

be in debt

to someone else.

Who is that?

Feng Xi,

I understand you had to

break free from the past to protect yourself.

Dongyue

never blamed you for that

and she still loved you, if anything.

How could you abandon her so easily?

Do I know her?

Wow!

Feng Xi,

you’re good!

However hard I try,

I’m not half as heartless as you are.

I’ll take that as a compliment.

Now that you’ve broken up with her,

from now on,

do not harass her ever again.

That person must be so special

that you’re deeply in love with her.

How could I steal her from you?

I wonder what kind of girl she is.

You’ve heard what he said.

I can predict the future, remember?

I knew what he’d say

even if you didn’t ask him.

At this stage,

you still think he’s a good man?

He’s not.

I knew that long ago.

That day, I only said the opposite

to convince myself.

The truth

is harsh,

but it’ll come out eventually.

The sooner you move on, the better.

Thank you for your concern.

Can we skip the formality?

I...

I can’t relax myself

in front of strangers.

In that sense,

we’re quite similar.

Perhaps we should get together

to know more about each other.

Yufeng Pavilion can also be your home.

Why was Fu Yuanshan taken there?

Is Minister Fang using the Third Prince

to set Feng Xi up?

I have to get to the bottom of all that.

Sure.

Thank you for taking me in.

Let’s go back.

Yes.

First encounter in disguise.

In this breezy moonlit night, the ilex flowers are blooming.

When wielding the sword in red, we kissed for the first time.

We sat so close together in the carriage.

Xi and Yue’s Story is written for you.

We lived in a wonderland in seclusion.

Moon Garden is a cage built for you.

Xi

Xi

Are you thinking of that man again who left you?

Humans

have feelings.

He occasionally comes to mind.

Feng Xi, Dongyue.

You’re Dongyue.

The man you said you were in love

is me.

But why

don’t I remember a thing?

Your room is over there.

It’s been redecorated as a girl’s chamber

to make you feel comfortable.

So, it’s all part of your plan

to invite me over.

Just as I said

Yufeng Pavilion is always open to you.

Here’s different from Feng Xi’s mansion.

I wonder if it’s to your taste.

A new place is perfect to start afresh.

I agree.

You can use a fresh start.

So do you think...

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Alright. I see.

You may leave.

Yes, Your Highness.

If you’re needed elsewhere,

feel free to leave.

Sure.

Get some rest in your room.

If you need anything,

just tell the servants.

Can’t you come at a better time?

Greetings, Your Highness.

What’s the emergency?

Could you clarify something for me?

What is it?

Your Highness, do you remember

we’re in the same boat?

What do you mean?

I mean

under this circumstance,

we should cooperate

and work things out together.

But earlier today,

you pinned the assassination

of Lu Zhengming on Eagle

without consulting me.

My people...

Your people?

Who are your people?

I...

Your people

and you

all work for me!

Please calm down, Your Highness.

As long as you call me Highness,

you should know

you serve under me.

I’m the one in charge.

I don’t need to consult or cooperate with you.

You only take orders from me.

You aren’t working with me!

You’re working for me!

Because I’m

the next ruler of Yin!

He who can’t keep the hierarchy in mind

will only meet his doom.

Yes, Your Highness.

I’ve learned my lesson.

Rise.

Thank you, Your Highness.

So what do you have for me?

Your Highness,

Lu Yuantong has left the capital.

That leaves Feng Xi alone

in our way.

Haven’t you acquired a secret weapon

to nail him?

Are you saying...?

If I open this door,

will there be

a suspect beaten to a pulp?

You are wise, Your Highness.

That’s right.

That man worked for the Ming family.

He and Feng Xi go way back,

a perfect witness to testify against him.

It’s just that he’s tough.

I need more time to get him to talk.

I don’t need him

to eliminate Feng Xi.

Were Lu Kang still alive,

maybe he could tell us something.

Eagle is merciless.

Could Fu Yuanshan already be...?

Killing him

is of no use to Minister Fang.

But Wang Chui...

Did he sell Fu Yuanshan out?

He isn’t that kind of person.

Then he...

Stop guessing around.

If Minister Fang has leverage,

he’ll put it into use.

We can only wait for what to come.

Set up a date for me.

Miss Zhaolu, you seem absent-minded.

Is the play not attractive enough?

I’m caught by moments of the past.

Are they

similar to what we’re watching?

I’d rather not talk about it.

If you can’t let it out directly,

the shadow puppet can do it for you.

Don’t keep it to yourself.

You can have it back.

That flute is special.

It sounded itself.

I’m Feng Xi,

meaning I could have a twisted fate of love.

Twisted fate of love.

The love of my life...

The love of my life...

Even if I forget you every day,

I’ll remember you again.

From now on,

I’ll show you I love you every day.

You changed the lines,

so I went on accordingly.

Do you like that?

I’ve never watched it before.

I don’t know the lines,

so I made them up.

If so,

what are the odds

that they happen to match the storyline?

As if they were written especially for us.

You’re Zhaolu and Yue

and I’m Xi in that story.

Just like you said,

life is like a play

and vice versa.

Coincidences do happen.

Is it also another coincidence

that both of us have been to hell and back?

I mean

everything I’ve said.

There must be more

to our story.

Just because you’re a minister

doesn’t mean you can be disrespectful.

You’ve crossed the line more than once.

We’d better not see each other again.

Are you avoiding me

because of the Third Prince?

We can use Fu Yuanshan

as a bait.

Feng Xi will come to rescue him.

But he’s too cunning

to rise to that.

I have an idea.

Feng Xi trusts no one

but Dongyue.

We can use her to get Feng Xi

and drive an edge between them.

That’s probably the best way now.

But I’m warning you.

Do not hurt Dongyue.

I’ll go get prepared.

Off you go.

Your Highness.

Did I interrupt you?

No.

Please take your time.

I’ll leave you alone.

What brings you here?

Your Highness.

The troupe has been rehearsing

a new shadow play.

Would you like to watch it?

Of course.

When is it?

I’ll let you know

when the time and date are settled.

Alright.

I’m here to see Fu Yuanshan under the Third Prince’s order.

Clearly, you care about me.

Why are you hiding your identity from me?

The Third Prince and I are going to watch a play tomorrow.

This will be the last time I can help you.

Miss Zhaolu,

I want Fu Yuanshan back,

but not just him.

Not everything will go the way you hoped.
