has made it to round two.

In the wildcard round, black sheep mafia

knocked out axman/team virginia.

The score was 8 to 4.

That shows everybody that black sheep mafia

is not going to be no one to be playing around with.

After beating out team virginia,

black sheep mafia beat out south carolina in block.

I mean, punished them -- 8 to 1.

going to the next round.

To me, we're racing the fastest team here.

Axman, I thought, was the fastest team,

but axman come out here and he was new to this.

He's been new to the no prep kings thing.

Without a doubt, these guys here ain't new to it.

To me, this race right here

should have been the race that run in the final.

Tonight, they face off against texas.

That's going to be a completely horse of a different color.

Texas has clobbered everybody they faced off with this year.

So far, texas has been dominating.

They beat california and gotee 8 to 1.

We need a little momentum. We didn't get that last year.

Both of these teams can talk all the trash they want,

but they understand that both of them

are two real killers and they're fast.

And you can guarantee this, they got to figure out

what they got going on in all their past data

in order to beat the other one.

The one that messes up first,

the other team will take advantage and win the $20,000.

the street racing conditions extremely dangerous.

But there's no time to play around.

These teams has got to figure out

what they got going on with their cars

and the team leaders got to figure out his run order.

If he messes up and puts the wrong person in the wrong place,

and beat somebody or you don't belong here.

Jason: Soon as I let go of the transbrake,

I know the truck just failed.

It did not leave nowhere near what it's been leaving all week.

And basically, there's nothing I can do.

I tried to stay in on it and grenaded the motor,

and now half the side of the motor's missing on it.

It sucks, but this is racing.

It could have been a lot worse.

The oil could have gone underneath the tire.

I could have lost the whole truck tonight.

So I did lose a motor, but it could have been a lot worse.

The altitude's kinda got us, you know, out in left field.

We're used to running at sea level

and we're about 9,000 feet up here right now.

So gonna play it as conservative as we can.

If we can keep everything in one piece,

we'll be very happy. [ chuckles ]

this is the third race between northeast racers

and black sheep mafia racers.

Black sheep mafia won the first two,

and if northeast is planning on going very far

in this competition, they better get it together.

and then I pulled back away from him.

I don't know if he had issues or what.

When I spun again on the big end,

you know, I'm almost two and then it'll haze the tires.

So, I mean, that's why I tested tonight.

The car's doing great out of the hole.

If we could get it to quit spinning on the big end,

you know, we'd have a tenth or two faster.

But by the time I get to the big end,

I'm always by myself. I don't have anybody beside me.

So I mean, I don't know. It may be as fast I need to go.

But you never go fast enough as a race car driver.

he still got some tweaking to do on his tomb

Then he redeemed himself when he beat chucky davis,

detroit's team leader.

Him and northeast went on and beat detroit

and earned $20,000 and moved on to the next round.

because willow springs is a road course

this is a 1.8-mile road course with 6 turns.

That's like six more turns than we're used to.

farmtruck: We are at willow springs raceway in california.

Azn: This is the longest continually operated

racetrack in the country.

And we have invited everyone from the 405

to join us in this little racing adventure.

And when he says everyone, he means it.

Even reaper showed up.

Reaper's not on the list anymore,

but he's still 405 family.

Plus, big chief's girlfriend, jackie,

is here to compete, as well.

She's got just as good a chance as anyone

because none of us have really done anything like this before.

We'll be racing on a course

called the streets of willow springs,

a highly technical 1.8-mile road course

featuring 6 tight turns.

Drivers will start out on a straightaway

before confronting - a series of hairpin turns.

After turn 3, - they head to the back side,

where they'll navigate a wide 180-degree turn,

leading them - into a long straightaway.

After turn 5, drivers will negotiate a short,

mini slalom section before swinging around

through the skid pad and back to the finish line.

The key will be hitting these turns with speed and precision.

Today is for practice, but tomorrow is for the money.

So this is how it's gonna work.

Racers will be pairing up and competing in time trials.

Each driver will have to try and clock

the fastest lap time they can,

and their partner needs to do the same.

And then those two fastest lap times are added together.

The two teams with the fastest combined lap times

will compete - in the finals for $10,000.

But before all that, it's time to pick teams

and get some practice in.

Azn: Welcome to the world-famous willow springs.

Steve: They are toyota 86s.

They weigh about 2,600 pounds.

They make about 215 horsepower.

They have an excellent 6-speed transmission in 'em.

They have been lowered.

They have trd racing suspension in 'em.

Boxster engine, 4-cylinder, 205, 210 horsepower.

This one's tweaked a little bit.

You'll really like it when you drive it.

It is extremely responsive.

So not only are these cars new to us,

this is a completely different kind of race for us.

That's right. - It's gonna be a stagger start.

Racers aren't gonna be competing with each other

on the track for this round -- it's gonna be a time attack.

We need the best time and get the laps in.

This is gonna take a little bit of practice,

but first, we get to pick our cars.

The 16 racers will battle it out for a cash days prize

that could continue growing as the night progresses.
