I felt so sure

that she wouldn't want to live
like she's been living,

but maybe I'm wrong, yeah?

Maybe she's happy in the world
her mind takes her to.

Now I'm questioning
every choice I made.

s-should I be doing more?

Am I just thinking about

instead of what's going on
with her -- inside of her mind?

I've been the one
who does everything,

who fights tooth and nail
against death at all costs.

But truthfully,
with my mom,

it didn't give me
more peace of mind in the end.

It might have done
the opposite.

I didn't think so at the time,
but it was the easier choice.

To fall back on
acting like a surgeon

and searching
for all the answers.

She's gotten to raise you

and watch you turn into
this incredible surgeon

and chief of a hospital.

fall in love.
