Marry Me

Episode 27

They haven't been gone long.

Send men to keep tabs on Tian Xia Association.

Things aren't as simple as it seems.

Don't worry.

I've had someone trail that Zhao guy since he left Jinlong Inn.

I had an inkling he'd betray us.

This lead is a dead end

What should we do now, Young Master?

This is Mu'er's hairpin.

Li Ke, get your men to look around.

Leave no stone unturned.

We need to pay extra attention on the road.

Mu'er must have left behind clues.

We have to keep our eyes peeled for anything.

Understood.

-Split up and search! -Yes, sir!

I have an idea.

Come closer to me.

Your head.

What...

We're trapped in a sealed cage.

There's no way to drop any clues.

You...

You actually...

Mu'er!

Mu'er!

Young Master,

it's blood.

Li Ke.

-Go get backup. -Okay.

What about you?

Just go.

A big hole has been dug over there.

Are they going to bury us alive?

-Shut up. -Move it!

Do it.

Get down there!

-What are you doing? -Hey!

-Don't touch her! -Let go!

Let go!

Ju Mu'er, save me!

Hold on!

Ju Mu'er?

You! Let me go.

Your name is Ju Mu'er?

You're not the person we're after.

Guys,

the other girl is the one we want.

This one's a fake.

Sir,

since we're not the ones you're after,

why not let us go?

You have our word that we won't tell anyone about this.

Sheng.

Bring me the girl from the ditch.

The promised you made before. Does it still count?

Of course.

I'll keep my promise as long as you divulge your real identity.

I'm the daughter of the Imperial Preceptor Ding Yan Shan.

-The Imperial Preceptor's daughter? -She's the daughter?

I told you,

you have the wrong person.

Brother, what should we do now then?

Since it has come to this,

we have no choice but to see it through.

Neither gets to live.

Sheng!

What are you doing?

Are you rebelling?

I gave her my word.

If she revealed her true identity, I'd let her live.

If you must kill her today,

you'll have to kill me first.

What do you mean by that?

Don't you know what would happen if we let them live?

-Who are you? -Identify yourself!

You're surrounded by the Wujin Imperial Guards.

Best you let the women go.

Otherwise, you're in for pain.

Who the heck are you?

This is none of your business!

She is the daughter-in-law of the Longs.

So who do you think I am?

Young Master Yue, save us!

If you let them go...

and change your evil ways,

I'm willing to bury the hatchet.

If not, the Wujin Imperial Guards are here.

I won't let you off so easily.

Long Yue, get out of here.

We're no longer related.

You don't have to concern yourself with me.

Whether I'm concerned or not...

is up to me.

Brother,

the Longs' power is manifold.

Be it in the imperial court or the jianghu,

the Longs are not to be trifled with.

If we mess with them,

we'll be tempting fate.

You two-timing traitor.

Letting them live is tempting fate.

I'll settle with you later.

You, Young Master Yue.

Where are the Wujin Imperial Guards you speak of?

Guys, get him!

Young Master!

-Keep still! -No!

No!

Young Master!

Brothers,

kill the two ladies too.

-What? -Who's there?

Are you okay?

Young Master...

Why are you so foolish?

I've made up my mind.

No matter what happens,

I won't leave you behind.

This is Imperial Physician Wang's house.

Doctor Wang!

Doctor Wang!

Do you think something happened?

Doctor Wang?

Doctor Wang.

He's dead.

What does it say?

We must inform big brother about this.

There are no obvious wounds on his body.

No sign of a struggle taking place either.

Could it be...

He might have committed suicide by drinking poison.

Oh, Lord Shu.

did you think I didn't know what you secretly did...

to the World's Best Inn's case.

But that doesn't matter now.

Because I found the whereabouts of the ledger.

You can't threaten me anymore.

Tell me, Lord Shu.

Do you have any last words?

Unfortunately, we may not have the chance to meet again.

Take him.

Yes, sir!

What are you doing?

You've got the wrong man.

Yesterday, bandits were seen at a hill near the temple in the outskirts.

Two persons were kidnapped.

You had colluded with the crook, Mr Zhao,

to capture Young Lady Shu Ruo Chen.

It was a planned kidnapping.

-Is that true? -That's...

You are framing me!

But I suppose you hadn't expected...

the bandits not to recognise Shu Ruo Chen's face.

By mistake,

they had captured Young Lady Shan instead.

What?

Shan'er? Where is she?

Thankfully, she's unharmed.

Young Lady Shan only suffered a shock.

As for the ledger you mentioned,

Hai Gui had submitted it to the court.

What?

His Majesty has already seen it.

The proof is irrefutable.

His Majesty has ordered this.

Ding Sheng is guilty of misconduct in public office...

and colluding with bandits.

His crimes are numerous and must be apprehended immediately.

Shu Bo, you devil.

You stabbed me from the back!

Lord Ding, things have a way of working itself out.

Don't piss off the wrong person. Guess we won't be seeing each other again.

You...

I want to see His Majesty.

Take him away.

Yes, sir.

I want to see His Majesty!

I want to see His Majesty!

I want to see His Majesty!

Thank you for upholding justice.

Speak.

You wanted to speak to me in private.

What is it you wish to say?

Your Majesty.

Doctor Wang had been tending to Consort Li for many years.

He was the one who conducted the post-mortem after she died.

However, he kept her pregnancy a secret till the end.

Subsequently,

I conducted a search at Doctor Wang's house.

I was shocked to find him dead from ingesting poison.

But he finally revealed the truth before he died.

Your Majesty.

Consort Li was not carrying a royal baby.

It was...

a love child she had with Doctor Wang.

This is a matter tied to the sovereignty.

Are you sure about it?

I vouch that everything I said is true.

Doctor Wang knew he was doomed...

and so he tried to burn the evidence before committing suicide.

I found the poison and letter in his room.

Who else knows about this?

Your Majesty.

I'm the one personally investigating Doctor Wang.

Nobody else knows.

Thank goodness you found out the truth.

Otherwise, His Majesty would've still been kept in the dark.

It was my own fault.

I wasn't able to expose Consort Li's true colours.

But I haven't yet told you what happened.

How did you know it was Consort Li's doing?

During the investigation, I already suspected...

that Consort Li and Doctor Wang were having an illicit relationship.

But for the sake of royal reputation,

I did not bring up the matter.

But your life was on the line.

Why did you not reveal the truth when you knew?

Why did you choose to suffer in prison?

I only had my suspicions,

I didn't have proof.

This time, I had wanted to use Ya Li Li...

to scare Consort Li and force Doctor Wang to confess.

I was hoping to catch them red-handed.

But unexpectedly, Consort Li was already dead when I got there.

Meanwhile, Ya Li Li was nowhere to be found.

This matter concerns the royalty.

It shouldn't be made public.

To alleviate the unease and fear within the palace,

I had to quickly find a palace maid to become the scapegoat.

Ya Li Li ran away on her own.

Her whereabouts is unknown.

Could she really be the culprit?

But then,

what would her motive be?

I've let His Majesty down.

I wasn't able to catch the real culprit.

I was going to pay with my life...

and bring the secret with me to the grave.

Who knew...

Receive the royal decree. Lord Shu.

These are His Majesty's words.

Shu Bo is a loyal servant.

His position will be reinstated effective immediately.

He will also be awarded 10,000 silver.

I thank His Majesty's grace.

Zhaoyu Palace

Greetings, my lady Noble Consort.

How do you do, Lord Shu.

Congratulations for being reinstated.

It was definitely a close call.

How did you manage to turn everything around and tricked everyone?

You flatter me.

I didn't do anything extraordinary.

Blood...

You have a bag of tricks, Lord Yun.

That old, befuddled Ding Sheng isn't your match.

You're too kind.

I dare not take credit.

I just want to take the chance to make known my intention,

to prove my loyalty to the Noble Consort.

There's something I'd like to ask you though.

Using my daughter, Ruo Chen, as bait,

was that also part of your plan?

You're dismissed.

I take my leave.

He is ruthless and does whatever to get what he wants.

We have to be careful of him.

Please be prudent, my lady.

There's something you don't know.

Chen'er and Long Teng have long since been secretly dating.

That's why she's been delaying her entering the palace.

If Yun Qing Xian hadn't turned the tide,

you would've been dead by now.

Using Chen'er was my idea.

It was a feint.

Spreading news of the ledger...

would trick Ding Sheng into thinking Chen'er had the ledger.

He would've targetted Chen'er either way.

Once he made the move,

he would've fallen into my trap.

It was her good luck that Chen'er came out of it unscathed.

Are you going to put the blame on me?

I wouldn't dare.

You are meticulous.

I'm sure you did that for the sake of the bigger picture.

If Chen'er can't benefit the Shu family, there's no need for her anyway.

Long Yue and Mu'er sure love to make things difficult.

Why go through with it when they knew beforehand?

We persuaded them not to separate.

If things had gone wrong today,

they would've really been tragic lovers.

I, for one, is envious of their relationship.

They always have each other in mind,

always together.

I can promise you,

no matter what, when, where,

I'll believe you unconditionally.

So you can be honest with me if you're troubled.

Why would I be troubled?

The most important task right now is to take good care of those two.

Please go and fetch more water for me.

I was shot a few times for you,

but it was worth it because you came back to me.

You're heavy, Young Master.

You pretended to be asleep?

So what if I did? It's not a crime.

Don't forget I almost died.

I'm not as thick-skinned as you,

taking advantage of me at such a moment.

By the way, lest you forget,

we're no longer married.

I can sue you for misbehaving.

You...

You're still as snide as ever.

It hurts!

You...

Is your hand okay?

Not okay.

Young Master, Young Mistress, time to take medicine.

Stop right there.

Where are you running off to?

A man should be brave. Are you scared of drinking medicine?

Who said I'm running? I'm...

I was just finding a more comfortable position.

Let's talk about you.

You poured away the medicine the last time.

The one who doesn't drink it today is a dog.

Fine, I'll drink it.

Open your mouth.

Open up.

One more sip.

Hurry up, a bit left.

Open up.

Thank goodness nothing bad happened to Ms Ju.

If not, I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night.

Silly girl.

What happened wasn't your fault.

You're always worrying about this and that.

Next time, you should start thinking for yourself.

In the past, I lived my life the way my father wanted me to.

But that isn't what I want.

I guess the only way to live the life I want...

is to listen to my heart.

From now on,

I'll go about my life following my own opinions.

You won't be doing it alone.

You have me.

But,

if I follow this path,

what do you think awaits us?

There will be thorns.

There will be more trouble and obstacles.

The road will not be an easy one.

But if we can stay true to each other,

I'm sure...

we'll be able to make it till the end.

Wait for me!

Young Master Fei?

He's acting weird. What's he up to now?

What are you doing?

No... nothing.

You're acting weird. What do you have there?

Come with me.

What's the matter?

It's nothing.

But if Long Yue finds out about this, it'd be a problem.

I was hoping to surprise you.

But you caught me.

It's not something to hide.

What is this?

Long Yue and Mu'er are getting remarried, right?

He's busy with work,

so he asked me to buy the wedding gift.

This bangle caught my eye when I was at the gold shop.

The boss said it was the best piece in the shop.

I wanted to buy it for you.

You used Long Yue's money without asking?

No.

Long Yue's money is the Long family's money.

The Long family includes me.

There's no need to be calculative.

Besides,

it's only right for me to gift you jewellery.

But Long Yue is avaricious.

Best not to let him know about this.

You obviously knew you'd get into trouble.

What if Long Yue kicked your butt later?

Well, I'd prefer that he doesn't find out.

But even if he did, it's fine.

I'm thick-skinned. I can handle a beating.

Why did you suddenly want to give me this?

I...

You're my son's mother, aren't you?

I don't need a reason to give you a present.

Besides, you've had to look after Xiao Bao alone...

and it must have been tough the past years.

Even though we're past the formalities,

in my heart, you're as important as Mu'er.

I'm going to give you an official wedding...

and let the whole world know...

that you're Mrs Long Fei.

Is that really how you feel?

Of course.

I want to give you and Xiao Bao the best in the world.

It's time to eat.

Wait for me!

Leaving without a word...

How many more times are you going to do that?

This time...

I'm not letting you off so easily.

You're mistaken.

I just came outside to air the clothes.

Guess I was right.

You wanted a divorce because you were threatened.

That's why you purposely misled me.

I know.

You're a smart girl.

You would've known how I feel.

Apart from purposely misleading me,

you wouldn't have the heart to hurt me like this.

Young Master,

I'm sorry.

Regarding Yun Qing Xian,

I'd make sure he pays.

But that would be...

I came here today...

to give you a present.

Soon, I'll be meeting the emperor.

I'm going to ask him to betroth you to me.

This time,

I'm going to marry you into the Long family with great fanfare.

I will let everyone know...

that you're the Longs' Second Young Mistress.

You can't do that.

I know you have your concerns.

But this time, I'll sort out the Long household...

as well as your father.

Nobody will be able to threaten us again.

Through ups and downs,

we've even survived death together.

Is that not enough?

I'm taking your silence...

as your agreeing.

Thank you for saving me, Lord Yun.

The revenge was a success...

all thanks to your perfect plan.

I didn't expect to take Ding Sheng down so easily...

with a ruse targetting his compassion.

Now, all we have to do is follow the plan...

and get him settled in prison.

We'd be able to wrap things up then.

You've done a good job.

But to be on the safe side,

there's one more thing required of you.

Just tell me what I have to do, Lord Yun.

Go to the netherworld...

and pave the way for Lord Ding.

A methodical man you are, Lord Yun.

Your setups are sound and you leave no trace behind.

The power struggle between Ding Sheng and Shu Bo...

has bought me more time.

Thanks to the inner turmoil,

your stand in the imperial court has been strengthened.

Only the last step remains.

His Majesty frequently summoned my father recently.

It was to discuss the matter of the heir to the throne.

What I lack right now...

is a chance.

Rest assured.

Without doubt,

your chance is will come very soon.

What's going on with Ximin Kingdom?

Territory of Ximin

Bo Yin?

Is it really you?

Bo Yin!

Bo Yin!

Bo Yin!

Bo Yin!

Fuxi Score

I may have been Shi Bo Yin's rival,

but his death was a loss to everyone.

If master in heaven knew that...

so many people remember him,

I'm sure he'd feel blessed.

By the way, Lord Hua,

Ya Li Li mentioned this to me before.

If I had any questions about the score,

I could ask you for help.

She was able to safely leave the capital...

thanks to your help.

So don't worry.

I'll do my best to help you.

We'll solve the score's mystery.

Thank you, Lord Hua.

Anyway, I heard that Long Yue...

has asked His Majesty for his blessing on your marriage.

It's clear that Long Yue...

is willing to do anything for you, Ms Ju.

I previously had some misunderstanding...

with Young Master Yue.

Would it be too much to ask to be invited...

to your wedding celebration?

Of course not.

But, as for the music score...

That's easy.

Come.

This time...

is the second marriage.

-Still, we have to take it seriously. -Yes.

Every detail...

-must be taken care of. -Young Master Yue!

-Young Master Yue! -Ms Ding.

Please help me find a way to see my sister.

Since my father's incident,

Yun Qing Xian has grounded my sister in the residence.

I haven't seen her in a long time.

I wonder if she's okay.

Yun Residence

Young Master.

What's the situation?

The guards at Yun Residence have all been changed.

Security inside is tight.

But luckily, Young Lady Xiang's handmaiden is still the same one.

I've gotten in touch with her and she agreed to help.

The Ding sisters will have a chance to meet.

Yun Qing Xian is being extra cautious.

Looks like Ding Sheng's downfall wasn't a coincidence.

Li Ke, follow through with this matter.

I will.

How is it going, Lord Hua?

This is...

Some guy called himself my master's confidant...

and claimed to be the only one who could match his skills.

But after so long,

he's still struggling to solve the score's secret.

I knew your skills were lacking.

I shouldn't have expected much.

Looks like I should've asked Ya Li Li instead.

She knows every one of my master's tunes.

Moreover, she's the person who knows master the best.

Whose skills are lacking?

There's nothing Ya Li Li knows that I don't.

It's just a music score.

Five days.

No...

Not more than three days,

I'll crack your master's cheap trick.

Okay.

That's a deal.

Three days is the limit.

I knew it. Ya Li Li is the best way to get to you.

Speaking of Ya Li Li...

I wonder where she is and how she's doing.

I couldn't believe it...

when the emperor spared Shu Bo.

That's not all.

He actually trusted the words of a liar,

assumed Ya Li Li to be the killer...

and ordered for her prosecution.

Ya Li Li had no qualms with Consort Li.

She hardly knew anyone in the palace harem.

How could she be the killer?

Thankfully, Ya Li Li managed to leave the capital.

Otherwise, she would've been in a whole lot of trouble.

Ya Li Li and I were forced apart.

We can't meet even if we wanted to.

Sir, someone is here to see you.

Who is it?

You.

Sorry for the sudden visit.

I came to see someone.

Who do you mean?

I want to see Ju Mu'er.

That's weird.

You came to the Music Bureau to look for her?

Could it be that Mrs Long has come for a visit...

and I wasn't informed?

Lord Hua, about you and Ya Li Li...

I don't think I have to say more.

The person responsible for Consort Li's murder has been arrested.

Meanwhile, Ya Li Li is now a wanted criminal.

Aren't you curious,

considering your two's relationship,

why is it that you were spared and safe from implications?

Are you trying to say that...

the reason why I've been spared...

is thanks to your doing?

And if I don't present Ju Mu'er to you,

I'd have to face the consequences?

Lord Yun.

Did you come here...

to threaten me?

A wise man submits to fate.

Lord Shu has now been reinstated.

The whole country is on the lookout for Ya Li Li.

I do not want the Music Bureau to be dragged into the matter.

Lord Hua,

I suggest you take caution.

No need to pressure the Music Bureau.

This matter doesn't concern bystanders.

I heard every word you said just now, Lord Yun.

At first,

I had thought you were a dedicated and honest man.

But you're actually despicable.

You even threatened the Music Bureau.

Did you threaten Mu'er the same way, I wonder?

How I go about my business...

doesn't concern you.

In regards to Mu'er,

I have only ever treated her sincerely.

What is the threat you speak of?

I don't suppose you should address her as Mu'er.

This time,

I've asked for His Majesty's betrothal.

If you refuse to back off, you're going against royal decree.

I hope you do what's right.

I'm here today on official business.

Even if you bring this up to His Majesty,

I have nothing to hide.

Whether or not you're hiding something,

only you yourself would know.

I'm just giving your fair warning.

If you keep pestering Mu'er,

I, Long Yue, would risk everything to make you pay.

What a surprise.

Young Master Yue, who cares more about benefits than sentiments,

is actually serious about Mu'er.

No benefits could be more important than Mu'er.

I'm going to safeguard her at all costs.

I doubt you'd understand the sentiment.

You went through a lot of trouble...

in order to marry Imperial Preceptor Ding's daughter.

Yet, here you are, claiming to treat Mu'er with nothing but sincerity.

I wonder how Mrs Yun must be feeling,

left all by herself in the residence.

That's my personal matter.

You may think you govern everything,

but you have no business with what happens in my household.

I'm glad you realise.

As with Mu'er and I,

that's a personal matter of the Longs.

So I hope you stay out of it.

And I hope you'd be able to protect who you want to protect.
