the police were down there.

They were treating it
as just a missing person,

and they weren't sure
what happened to Allison.

Chris cooperated with the police
from the very start

when they took him back to
the police station to question

and that he answered
their questions.

and never left unless she told

Russellville -- it's one of
the oldest towns in Kentucky.

Well, there's a lot
of civil war history there.

Not very big, pretty much
everybody does know everybody.

It's easy to get labeled
as kind of an outsider,

weren't born and raised there.

There is quite a bit
of farmland --

like tobacco farms, pig farms,
and stuff like that.

No malls, no -- nothing else.
There's a Walmart.

Growing up,
we were home-schooled.

Kristen and Allison
will come to my house,

and my granny would teach,

and we'd all, you know,
learn together.

We were like
the three musketeers.

You didn't se one
without the other.

Allison loved to smile.

She was always happy,
always smiling.

You know, even the people
she didn't know.

You know, you make eye
contact with her,

and she immediately
would smile at you.

She loved braiding hair.

She wanted to go
to cosmetology school.

Allison's dad was a pastor.
He was very strict.

type dad.

Growing up, our family
met together every holiday --

Memorial Day, labor day,
fourth of July --

whatever it was,
easter, mother's day --

all of them, we were together.

We had, you know, cookouts.

If it wasn't a cookout,

cooking roast, cooking meatloaf.

Every holiday, we were together.

my mom's fiancien has a bunch

of nieces and nephews,

Allison was very excited
when they first got together.

Chris was very sweet
in the beginning to Allison.

He would buy her flowers.
He would take her out to eat.

just little things.

The relationship progressed
pretty quickly.

It went from dating
to, a few months later,

they were talking
about getting married.

got married in Russellville.

It was just kind of
out of the blue.

I feel like that they did
get married kind of too quickly.

But Allison loved Chris
with everything.

I feel like that there was,

like, a negative presence
around Allison,

which was basically
all of Chris' family,

you know,
it was all negative people.

didn't have any idea

what the people
she was living with

out of that farmhouse
were capable of.

Adairville is about 10,
15 minutes from Russellville.

It's really not a big area
at all.

You blink, and you'll miss it.

There may be one or two houses
within a 10-mile radius.

It worried me when
she moved out there,

but she seemed excited
about having their own place.

After Allison
and Chris moved to adairville,

I wouldn't see her as much.

It would be like weeks at a time
before I would ever see her.

Allison just kind of changed.

She gave up
on cosmetology school.

She didn't talk about
any more of her goals.

She didn't talk about
any more of her dreams.

Everything was about Chris
and what he wanted to do.

Her car ended up getting
tore up about that time,

so she had no vehicle
to go anywhere.

Chris, instead of fixing
her car,

he decided
to go buy himself a truck,

so Allison didn't have

any transportation whatsoever
of her own.

So, while Chris was at work,

she really had no choice
but to just stay there.

There were times
when I'd ask her

to go places with US,
but she just wouldn't.

I'm off on Thursday.

The farm was dark.

There's no lights.

You know,
there's no street lights.

When it's dark out in
the country where this farm was,

it's pitch black.

You can't see your hand
in front your face.

At times, you could tell that
something was bothering her,

but she would
never say anything.

You could just kind of tell
something was off about Allison.

Allison seemed like a prisoner
in her own home.

Well, we already talked

Chris seemed very controlling.

It was pretty clear
that it wasn't a happy marriage.

shared a phone.

Every time, you know,
I would kind of, you know,

try to reach out
and talk to her or something,

Chris would always say
that she wasn't there.

I felt like that
he didn't want her talking

to any of her friends
or any of her family at all.

She was left alone a lot
in the house.

She had a journal.
She journaled a lot.

It was almost like she was
using that journal

as someone to talk to.

There was something
inside of her

that was making her
be afraid to call out for help.

If she got out more,
or if Allison was,

you know, able to communicate,
you know,

without having
to share a phone or something,

then maybe she would have
maybe cried out for help.

I just would have grabbed her
and took off with her.

Sunday, I felt like
something was wrong,

and I couldn't
put my finger on it.

And then Monday, I got a call,
and it was Chris.

He was calling and asking
have I seen Allison,

and I told him,
"no, I haven't seen her."

Hey, Chris.

After when he called me,
he called Kayla.

You haven't heard
from Allison?

I had a missed call from her.

I called back, and it was Chris.
I thought it was her.

He was like,
"I was just checking

to see if Ali was with you,"
and I was like, "no."

Okay. All right.

Then after when he called
Kayla, he called our parents.

Then he called our aunt.

He knows that
she doesn't go over there

unless we have get-togethers.

So, I knew something was wrong
then, when he did that.

Kayla had texted me
and asked me if I'd seen her.

I was like, "no, why?"

And that's when she told me
that she was missing.

It made my heart sink
into my stomach,

knowing that Allison was missing

because Allison
never went anywhere

without someone
knowing where she was at.

I asked my mom if she'd
seen her. She said, "no."

My grandparents -- "no."

She wasn't with any of US,
so, you know,

I'm calling him back like,
"something's not right."

But as the day went on,

he still didn't sound like
he was concerned to me.

I'm getting worried
and worried by, you know,

every second that goes by.

I was keeping communication
with Kayla and Chris.

I wouldn't hear nothing from
Chris for hours at a time.

I would ask him, you know,
"have you contacted the police

or have you, you know,
told him that she's missing?"

And he's just like, you know,

basically, "no," to every
question that I asked him.

It's like everybody's worried
except for Chris.

A couple hours later, I'm like,
"have you seen her yet?

Nobody's seen her, Chris.
You know, where is she?"

"I don't know, Kayla.
I'm trying to figure it out."

I'm like, "Chris, you need to
call the police.

This is not right.
Something's wrong.

You need to call the police."

And he was hesitant.
Chris was hesitant to do so.

He was like, "okay,
I'll call them.

He said they told him they
couldn't do anything
till after 24 hours.

He didn't really seem concerned.

He was kind of chill about it.

It's after midnight.
I'm still messaging him.

"Is she back?
Is she back? Is she back?

"No, she's not back yet."

And he was like,
"well, I got to go to bed.

I got to go to work tomorrow."

When Tuesday rolled
around, she didn't come home.

One of my cousins
called one of her friends

that works
with the police station,

and she was like, "hey,
my cousin's missing.

Is there anything you can do?"

She called back probably like
ten, fifteen minutes later.

She was like, "hey, I got
the police coming out there,

and I have a detective
coming out there."

They started searching
in the back of their house

and on the side of their house.

They put the yellow tape
around it.

You see it on the movie,
you see it on the t.V.,

but you don't see it
in real life,

so that's when it became real
to me

that something is really wrong.

Chris did seem to cooperate
with the police

and, you know,
didn't have any problem,

you know, going back
to the police station

and talking to them
and submitting to the interview.

Chris, you got to help me out
with something.

So, your wife stays at home
all day, every day,

and never left unless she told
you where she was going.

knows exactly
what happened to her.

My brother ain't got
nothing to do with this.

knows something.

When they first started to talk
to George, you know,

he just basically said he didn't
know what,

you know, had happened,
where she was or anything.

we came home

She was gone.

It started to sink in that
something wasn't right.

He didn't really want to,

and Chris was a person
of interest, of course.

It didn't really look like
the rest of the writing

in the notebook,
so they weren't sure

if this was something
that may have been written

to try to make it
look like maybe

Allison had ran off
or something.

strange about this handwriting?

Well, I don't know.

It really didn't come to much,
but it was just another

one of those little questions
that was just left hanging.

Just got a few
more questions for you.

What's up?

George seemed
almost disconnected

when he was talking to police.

I can remember seeing the body
cam footage of the interview,

and it was one of the weirdest
things of the whole case.

As the deputies continue
to talk to George,

at some point
in the conversation,

and I don't think it was even...

...you know, them trying to drag
it out of him or anything,

I think he just kind of
volunteered the information

that they might want to go
look in the river for Allison.

Why would you say that, George,
about the river?

It's just something
I heard in the wind.

And, you know,
they asked him what that meant,

and he really
didn't answer that.

But, you know, he heard it
and the wind was what he said,

and that was one of the things
that just kind of --

it kind of made the hairs
on the back of my neck

kind of go up a little bit.

It just seemed
kind of really weird

and odd and kind of out there.

Yeah. Yeah, sure.
I'll walk with you.

I got a knock on my door,

and it was the sheriff,

and he was like, "Kristen,
we found your sister."

And I remember asking him,
"is she okay? Where is she?"

You know, I was hoping she'd be
in the back of the car

and just let me see her --
you know, is she okay?

And he's like,
"no, honey, she's not okay.

We found her in the river."

I had a bunch of missed
calls, had a bunch of texts,

a bunch of voicemails,

and the one in particular was
my grandmother that called me.

And when I first start
to listen to it,

I immediately hear people
in the background

screaming and hollering.

It was Kristen
and Allison's mother.

A sound I've never heard
from either of them before.

My granny's trying to talk
in the voicemail calmly,

and she's like, "Kayla...
They found Ali."

I don't know
what else she said.

I hung up immediately
and just busted out into tears.

When I heard that it was George,
my first thought was, "why?

Why would he do that?"

Family's always first.

Family's always first --
always.

George showed them essentially
where she was in the river,

and that's where
George confessed

that he had killed Allison.

George said that when he had
taken his break

early on that morning
before Chris' break,

that he had went
back to the house.

And then he wound up strangling
her in the kitchen

and killing her

and tied her body up
and wrapped it in a tarp

and took her down to the river
and put her in the river.

They were asking George
shortly after he'd confessed,

"why did you do this?"

You know,
"why did you kill Allison?"

And the only thing that he ever
said was it was a wrong belief.

They asked George,
"what does that mean?

What kind of wrong belief?"
And he never answered that.

And we still don't know to this
day what wrong belief it was

that led to him to kill her...

If that's what really happened.

I've always had a gut feeling

that Chris had something
to do with it.

I just feel like that,
just by the way he was acting,

he wasn't really looking
for the person that,

you know,
he claimed to love so much.

He wasn't really
making any effort

to look for his wife
that was missing.

I feel like they both
had a hand in it -- absolutely.

What each of them did,
I have no idea.

But my gut tells me that they
both know what happened.

They both probably had a hand
in killing her,

and they both helped
each other tie her up.

They both threw her
in the river.

George, you know, admitted

that he had killed Allison,

but the defense attorney
spelled out that,

you know, Chris was abusive
to Allison,

that they, you know, had
a rocky relationship.

He was very controlling,
didn't let her leave the house,

kept her there, you know,
all that,

and basically said
that Chris did it

and that George only confessed

to kind of cover up
for his brother.

But Chris seemed, you know,
during his testimony

that he was really upset

that George had, you know,
allegedly killed his his wife.

They both lived there,

and Chris didn't say why George
would have done it,

just that, you know,
George did it.

There's just so many questions
left unanswered

that I think it just makes sense
that the family would wonder,

you know, was Chris involved,
and if so, how?

It's just another mystery.

Basically, four years
after the murder occurred,

Chris Walker's in jail.

He was indicted on charges
of sexual abuse against a minor.

I want everybody to know

that Allison
didn't deserve this.

She was a sweet soul.

She didn't deserve
to be tossed away like trash.

She was one of a kind.

And I just feel like that

anybody that got
to meet Allison,

it was a blessing.

I wish I would have paid
more attention.

Keep your family members
very close.

Pay attention, even if you think
it's something small.

Definitely reach out.
Always talk.

Make sure you know
how they're feeling.

I blame myself a lot
for not doing that,

but I do wish that I just would
have paid more attention.
