[Episode 24]

Have you been reading?

Yes, what can I do for you?

There is an intruder.

I came because I was worried.

Is everything okay here?

I have Gon here with me.

Gon.

Yes, Elder Dae Mok.

Protect the chief of the Pyeonsoo-hwe well.

Yes.

Rest up then.

How dare he hide in my home?

The boss of the pack carriers.

I suppose I should compliment his boldness.

Why...

are you here?

I urgently need...

a deadly flower pill.

This is what you gave me earlier.

I will explain it all later.

You should escape now.

He will show you the way out.

He works for me, so you can trust him.

You need to hurry.

I am letting you go because Young Miss Hwa Goon ordered me to.

If you do something like this again, I will not forgive you.

I...

cannot accept your feelings, Your Majesty.

By any chance... is there someone you do love?

Is that man the boss of the pack carriers?

How?

Why is it not the King of a nation, but the boss of the pack carriers?

You are the daughter of a high ranking official.

Isn't a King more suitable for you than a pack carrier?

That man and I...

share the same dream.

That is enough for me.

Share the same dream?

That is all?

Was that all you needed?

Even I...

had a dream.

"Lee" as in different.

"Seon" as in line.

Lee Seon means you can live a different life.

I wanted to live a different life.

I wanted to free myself from the shackles I was born into.

I wanted to throw them off.

If I had any courage...

I would have told someone about those dreams.

If I had...

so much of my life could have been different.

If I knew I was going to die like this...

I should have I confessed my feelings to you a bit earlier.

Your Highness...

Have you...

come to save me?

Your Majesty. Are you awake now?

Is that you, Hyun Seok?

Yes, Your Majesty.

The pill that you gave to the King...

By any chance...

is it connected to this in any way?

The Pyeonsoo-hwe sends this bamboo container to the King every mid-month.

This... bamboo container.

Father had this bamboo container.

Then Father, as well...

He was addicted to the deadly flower pills.

The Pyeonsoo-hwe gets Kings addicted to the pills and then controls the Kings.

Young Master, please tell me.

Does this bamboo container have a connection to that pill?

Why? What is it?

There was nothing inside.

There was nothing inside the container.

Then, this container...

was it you who took it?

There should have been a deadly flower pill inside of it.

But, it was empty when you opened it?

I nearly ended up killing the King.

Ga Eun, the palace is full of danger.

Someone put you in a trap.

Why in the world...

did you become a court lady?

My father.

I was promised his status would be restored.

I wanted to clear my father's name.

I became a court lady to destroy the Pyeonsoo-hwe.

Who promised that to you?

What are you doing there?

Have you already forgotten that you were nearly severely punished last time?

The real one saved the fake?

The fake has a long lifeline.

Were you planning on leaving him to die?

Why would I bother doing that?

They would just have replaced him with another fake.

You snuck into Dae Mok's home?

Are you out of your mind?

Lee Seon's life was on the line. What choice did I have?

Do you have 10 lives or 20?

Just sit down for now.

I need to discuss something with you.

Both Lee Seon and Yang...

they were poisoned by a drug made by the Pyeonsoo-hwe.

They developed an addiction to the deadly flower pill.

This is the secret location where they make the deadly flower pills.

I believe this is where Yang ran away from.

Do you remember what Yang said?

She said about a dozen children made hundreds of pills.

What do you think the Pyeonsoo-hwe are using those pills for?

- It can't be. - Yes, it is.

Lee Seon is not the only one.

The ministers of Joseon are all under Dae Mok's control. subtitles ripped and synced by riri13

It is all because of these deadly flower pills.

We need to save the children.

In order to stop Dae Mok from controlling the government

we must...

find this place.

The entire pack carrier organization is searching for it.

We should hear news soon.

Yes.

Also, I believe we will need an antidote for the deadly flower.

That is the only way to save those addicted to the pill, including Lee Seon.

An antidote to the deadly flower...

It is absolutely necessary.

It will take some time.

Please hurry.

It will...

take some time!

Listen up, Ministers.

A national matter has come up for the women of the palace to address.

I have come to make an announcement.

As the leader of the palace women, I proclaim a ban on marriages.

Let us organize the King's marriage at once.

For the process of marriage selection...

I appoint the Minister of Government Administration.

We accept your command, Your Majesty!

Just as you suggested...

I appointed the Minister of Government Administration.

You did very well.

He is on our side.

He will be a great help.

However, as for the three government officer positions...

the Pyeonsoo-hwe managed to get them.

In order to get the bones, you must give up the flesh.

Your Majesty, this is just the beginning.

What are you planning to do?

It is too much to walk around the palace with no position.

I would like to offer you a government position.

Then please assign me a position as an officer serving the King.

Officer?

Would a low position like that be all right?

I do not like to call attention to myself.

An officer is fine.

I understand.

This is magnolia fruit tea.

I committed a grave sin against you last time.

You did nothing wrong.

Even in the future, I will drink all of the tea you serve me.

Your Majesty.

The Dowager Queen is asking for Court Lady Han.

All right.

You should go.

Hello, Elder Dae Mok.

That is the Prime Minister's daughter, Ja Young, on the right.

The Minister of the Left's daughter, Eun Soo, is on your left.

One of you...

will become like my adopted daughter.

Which one do you like?

Both look beautiful and intelligent.

They both look like they could be Queens.

Then the Dowager Queen's candidate cannot become Queen.

Make sure to pass the selection process.

One of you should become Queen.

The other will become a top ranking royal consort.

Yes.

What are you saying?

Yeon Joo will not attend the marriage selection?

You know my daughter, Yeon Joo, is very fearful.

She says she does not have the courage to be part of the selection process.

All she does is cry at home.

Do you think this is only about being the father of the Queen?

If your child is not listening, you should whip her and make her go.

I apologize, Your Majesty.

She is my only daughter and has been sick since she was young.

She was always raised very gently.

What do you mean you are taking Court Lady Han?

Your marriage selection will be starting soon.

I am planning on entering Ga Eun in the marriage selection process.

Why are you so surprised?

You asked your mother to make her your royal concubine as soon as possible.

Did you not, King?

That is what I must do.

Isn't that how I will get you to do what I ask of you?

What is it that you want?

During this marriage selection process...

I want you to be on your mother's side.

Think about it carefully.

Will she become your royal concubine or get chased out of the palace?

It is in your hands.

You never know.

The government may have let her off in the past.

It is law for the family of a person charged with treason to become slaves.

If someone were to bring it up, she could become a slave.

From the Dowager Queen's household...

is there another candidate besides the Minister of the Right's daughter?

From what I know, there is not.

Yeon Joo, you must do a good job.

Father.

I am so afraid.

If I become Queen

the Pyeonsoo-hwe will never leave me alone.

The Dowager Queen said she will protect you.

Just worry about passing the marriage selection process.

Yes, Father.

Protect my daughter.

Yes, Minister.

That is correct.

They are the daughters of the Prime Minister

and the Minister of the Left.

Please enter.

The Pyeonsoo-hwe wants one to become the Queen.

I believe they want the other to become a royal concubine.

They will do whatever it takes to get those two to the final round.

I suppose so.

She is the daughter of the Minister of the Right.

That is who we must make Queen.

Choi So Yeon?

Please enter.

Ga Eun...

Why?

You are the last to go, Young Miss.

Everyone has been poisoned.

I need to alert the doctor.

Drink this.

What?

If you are the only one who is awake here

you will be labeled the culprit.

You need to make a choice.

Will you drink this?

Or will you become the culprit?

Something is very wrong!

Someone used poison.

Ga Eun... Ga Eun.

Ga Eun, Ga Eun.

Oh, Ga Eun!

Ga Eun.

Ga Eun, please wake up.

Ga Eun. Ga Eun!

[Ruler: Master of the Mask]

Save the Queen.

You are an officer. How did this happen?

There is nothing more you can do here.

I found out who was really behind the poisoning.

No matter where you hide in Joseon, you will not be able to live.

Please help me get Ga Eun out of the palace.

Why don't we make a deal?

You are very greedy.

You are under arrest for the poisoning incident.
