Stop it!

Ok Ryeon.

You came all the way here and you're still fighting?

I said, is fighting the only thing you can do here?

Aish... Aigoo!

Hey! Ah! It's hot!

Ah, it's hot. Really hot.

Ai, why are you doing this? Hey. Hey!

Look here. Are you crazy?

Hey! Hey.

Are you trying to boil them and eat them?

Their skin is going to come off.

I told you, never to fight in front of my store.

I got it. That's why I came. And put down the ladle.

Just treat him well. Tomorrow, I'll be here to take him.

I'm going.

Hyungnim, why are we leaving him like this? It's not good for our reputation.

Your reputation is like a wet rat, you punk.

Chi Gi! - Yes, hyungnim.

Is that old man, Hwa Ri still picking up corpses?

Of course. Busily picking up the frozen ones and the starved ones.

Tell that old man that I want to see him.

Right now?

Should I say it in English?

Right now.

Jung Tae.

Shin Jung Tae...

Can you hear me?

Jung Tae, try waking up.

Shin Jung Tae!

Soo Won unni.

It was just a momentary loss of consciousness. So, don't worry.

Is that true?

Hmm.

After this IV and a good nights sleep, he'll be okay.

Thank you.

I really thank you.

Thankful for what? I was going to chase him away because he was pestering me.

I almost got scolded big time by you.

What?

Isn't he the one who you longed and waited for, for the last 5 years?

Who was waiting?

Bad jerk.

Leader Bang Joo.

What?

Are you going to move the body?

Yes.

If we want to get back before the Chirinbang elders arrive,

I think we should leave now.

What about Shin Jung Tae?

To get him to Bamsantong,

others are on their way.

No.

You go and get him.

He will continue his father's legacy and do important things.

Just as moving the body is important,

being able to move his heart is also important.

I understand.

I will go then.

The future of Club Shanghai

is in your son's hands.

I'm relying on you.

Dr. Jung, did you sleep well?

Aw!

If you mess with your hands and get a shot without liquid, what did I say will happen?

The air will enter the blood stream and can result in death.

You realize that and you are still doing this? Not going to move your hands?

I will, if you remove the needle first.

Argh. Air! The air is going in!

You are afraid of needles but you are trying be a gangster?

Ouch!

Get out.

Whew! I don't think the air went in.

Huh! The air didn't go in.

Are you awake?

Who... ?

We met before in Bamsantong with Baang Baang's Seul Doo Sung.

I am Jung Jae Ha.

That's right.

Those are the guys who attacked you.

As our nephew/our member, please be understanding.

As soon as Young Chool Hyungnim passed away,

Whangbang, Ill Goo Hwae, outsiders, Vietnamese and even the Thais,

all of them were out to swallow Bamsantong.

So, my guys were a bit nervous.

What are you guys doing? He is Young Chool Hyungnim's son.

How are you, Hyungnim?!

Let's go.

To where?

What do you mean where?

We have to bring your father's body so we can have the funeral.

I don't have any interest in that.

You have no interest?

Even if your father's body becomes unidentifiable and food for wild dogs?

Even if he is dumped into a river and becomes food for fish, you don't care?

Yes.

To me, my father died a long time ago.

Hey, you sh*it mannered bastard!

Even when a fox dies, it looks toward its hometown.

But your father who moved Shanghai up and down,

is lying there all ripped apart by some son of a bit**.

A son is saying that he doesn't care?

Aren't you a bit curious as to what son of a bit** did this to your father?!

Yes.

I am not curious at all.

So do as you fit.

I'm sorry.

Huh?

Hey, Shin Jung Tae!

Go.

Ok Ryeon.

Can't you hear me?

Go and bring your father.

Ok Ryeon...

I know...

who your father was to you.

I also know how much you hated him.

But you right now...

Do you know that you are just screaming because you are comfortable?

What?

Do you remember the house I lived in at Shineuijoo?

That Myeonghwalgwan was destroyed by the Japanese.

With Mal Sook and the lady from Mokpo,

when we were crossing Yalu river to run away,

the hunter ahjusshi and my mom,

we had to leave them in the river.

My mother,

if I can find her body,

I wanted to say goodbye to her.

There is one who can't like me.

Even if I want to hold her and cry,

I can't shed a tear on anything.

There are ones who can't even cry with comfort, like me.

Do you know?

I'm sorry.

No one told me what happened at Shineuijoo.

About your mother and

the hunter ahujusshi,

I didn't know what had happened to them.

Since I didn't know what had happened to you, I guess we can call this even.

I'm sorry, Ok Ryeon.

Forget it.

Just go get your father's body.

Funeral for Shin Young Chool will be held at Hwangbang.

It isn't just that.

Hwangbang also asked Chirimbang who controls the public affairs.

Chirimbang?

Yes. They are the security forces that oversee public affairs.

They are composed of top leaders in all aspects of commerce, including banking, farming and just about everything.

To the public, Chirimbang's decisions are laws.

What if we refuse their decision?

Then, whoever and whenever will be attacked,

We can't protest and have to die like a dog.

That's the public's understanding.

By using Chirimbang, Hwangbang wants to push me out and take over Club Shanghai.

With one dead body, he wants to resolve three issues, I see.

Where is Sasaki?

Next time, it will be your heart.

Who is it?

The one who told you to provoke a fight between the Hwangbang leader.

Sasaki,

you're not going to open your mouth, are you?

The one who ordered you probably promised to protect your family in Osaka.

Then I should make a promise.

I will send your head with the ears cut and eyes gouged to your family.

In front of your severed head,

I will kill your wife and your children in the same way.

I'll tell you!

I'll tell you everything, so please spare my family!

The one who order me start the fight was...

that person...

Yamamoto-san...

Yes, Princess Gaya.

Because of a mere soldier's word,

I didn't want to be suspicious of any one of us. That's why I killed him.

Do you understand...

what I mean?

Upholding your graciousness, Princess Gaya,

I will serve you, Princess Gaya, with my life.

Then today, you, Yamamoto show me your loyalty.

Your order...

I will wait for it.

We have arrived at Shin Jung Tae's place.

Jung Jae Hwa and Shin Jung Tae went to the morgue to get the body.

Why would Jung Jae Hwa do that?

You immediately tell this to the Leader and we will go to the morgue.

Yes!

Hyungnim, if we really get Young Chool's body,

are you sure we will win against Hwangbang?

Of course.

Whatever that Hwangbang old man does, if I bring Young Chool Hyungnim...

and have a grand funeral, I'll show that I,

Jung Jae Hwa, is still continuing to hold on to Shanghai after him.

When everyone sees that,

even that old man has to back down, too. That's what I'm saying.

Then we don't lose Club Shanghai and will be able to keep Bamsantong safe.

Understand?

Yes, Hyungnim.

Jung Jae Hwa?

Yes.

He was overseeing Bamsantong while Shin Young Chool was gone.

He is quick to fight and he is like a snake in deals.

Hwangbantong's old mole and Bamsantong's snake...

It's becoming more interesting.

I am really curious to see who will take the body.

What about Yamamoto?

He will guard the returning road.

He is going to guard the road, huh?

Yes.

Then I should slowly prepare, too.

It will be a better spectacle than I expected.

Thank you.

Yes.

Then I'll finish up with the paper work and prepare to move the body.

Follow me.

We'll take care of this, so go.

Yes.

Is this okay?

Wait a moment.

It's the deceased belongings.

You already got here, I see.

We'll arrange the body to be moved. Why don't you leave?

This guy will escort you.

It's fine.

I also have people I came with.

That's why I am saying you need an escort.

Since there are enough people to move the body, go early and prepare.

The Leader's worrying a lot about you.

So, lets go.

Hey, come on you punks. Hurry it up.

Line it up straight.

Oh, you scared me.

Wan Baek San.

From now on,

Hwangbang will take over moving the body.

What nonsense is that?

Why would you take our Hyung's corpse?

Since the highest ranking members has entered,

isn't it proper for you to follow through the public affair's decision?

Through the public affair's decision?

Did our Hyungnim ever live leeching off you guys?

Not even once.

Seul Bang Joo and

It's been decided by the elders of Chirinbang.

Chirinbang or whatever, I know nothing about that.

What I know is that we will serve our Hyungnim according to our methods.

Understood?

Right now,

you are refusing Chirinbang's decision?

Chirinbang?

It must be what Hwangbang wants.

If this was what Chirinbang wanted to do,

should't it be stamped here?

It's not here.

Like your Seul Bang Joo old man,

I'll take my Hyungnim to Bamsantong and get the tributes,

get Chirin's compliments and

continue to operate Club Shanghai.

Right now,

You who is nothing but a dog in Bamsantong,

you dare to

provoke Hwangbang?

Do you know what this dog son of a bit** hates the most?

The one who touches its food when its eating.

Right.

Then, try biting me.

Stop it!

You fu**. You pretend having so much decorum.

Should you be doing this kind of thins in front of the dead?

Let's go out.

Without the kids,

just you and me.

Let's do that.

It time to end it.

Come at me.

Are you crazy? You come at me, bastard.

-Hyungnim! -Hyungnim! Hyungnim!

Are you okay?

Hyungnim! Hyungnim!

Hyungnim!

Move it!

Hyungnim! Hyungnim!

Hyungnim!

-Hyungnim! -Hyungnim, are you okay?

-Hyungnim. -Hyungnim...

Hyungnim! Hyungnim!

Hyungnim!

You did well.

Tell Wan Baek San not to be late.

You let Chirinbang know about

that the body will be arriving.

Yes.

And also,

let the people in Bamsangtong know that

his body will be at Hwangbang.

Yes, Sir.

Hwangbang's Wang Baek San is transporting Shin Young Chool's body?

Jung Jae Ha got beaten in a fight with him.

Which road is Yamamoto guarding?

To go to French controlled Hwangbang,

there is one road that they have to take.

Yamamoto is guarding that road.

Is that so?

Send a flower wreath under Ill Gook Hwae's name and

tell Seul Bang Joo that I'll be going there to pay my respect.

You are going to pay respect?

Its an opportunity to meet all the Chrinbang elders all at once.

Of course I should go.

When you come out after you washed up, I'll escort you again then.

Ok Ryeon.

I got hot water,so

Wash up.

What?

When ahjussi's body comes, you're probably going to hold a funeral.

Aren't you going to wash?

Right.

Thank you.

Letter to dad

Dad, this is Jung Tae.

Its getting cold and I'm wondering how you are doing.

When you told me when you were here last time,

I am still doing what you told me to.

That when you are not here,

I should be protecting mom and Chung Ah.

I will surely protect them.

So, dad please come to see us again.

Mom and Chung Ah misses you very much.

I miss father too.

From father's son, Shin Jung Tae.

Who told you to do this?

I said who told you to do this?

Who told you to carry these pictures?

If you had time to look at this picture,

while you had time to save this money,

Once again,

you should've tried to find me one more time.

Huh?

When my Chung Ah left,

when my mother left,

You should have come to find me.

My father,

my father always,

how much I hate you,

you should hear that before you go.

I thought you'd forgotten me.

I thought you'd forgotten a bastard like me.

But what is this?

What is this?

Il Gook Hawe sent a wreath?

Yes. And that's not all.

Representative Gaya sent a messenger asking for permission to pay her respects.

What a bold wench.

She wouldn't know who Chiinbang is.

The reason why she is so confident..

Open up the map.

Yes.

The cafe near the railroad.

To come to where we are, they have to take this road.

Here.

This area is where former Ill Gook Hwae's leader Yamamoto men exists.

Soon Po: each territory's police

Ask the men who is at this area to see if

they made it thru the French controlled area. Hurry!

Yes.

What's going on?

They are Soon Po (territory police).

I will take care of them.

What is with you guys?

We are checking. Show us the documents.

What is this?

This si document for French controlled area.

Hand over the passing permit.

Hey,

do you know who the person in this car is?

He is the second in command for Hwangbang.

Understood?

That's why we waited.

Keep the body protected!

What about Wang Baek San? He passed thru So Ji Ah but did not arrive at Seo Jang Ryo.

I think they may have been attacked.

Then, what are doing here?

Get all the men and send them.

We cannot lose his body to them.

Hurry up!

Yes.

Gaya.

Is this really your doing?

Yamamoto says he succeed in taking Young Chool's body.

I wonder what kind of expression Seul Bang Joo has.

Goichi.

Yes, princess.

Relay this to Yamamoto.

Tell him not to touch a hair on his body and

to take the body to the safest place in Shanghai.

I understand.

I will go to Hwang Bang.

Yes. I will prepare.

I can go only this far.

Since that place is French, I can't go there.

I f I don't have someone to escort me like you.

Come back well.

Escort ahjusshi well.

Yes.

Go then.

Ok Ryeon,

I've never forgotten you.

So, when I return,

Whatever happened in Shin Eui Joo,

Will you tell me?

I'll be going.

Goichi.

Tell Gaya Princess,

I will escort you to the most peaceful place in Shanghai.

Take the coffin inside.

Yes!

Wang Baek San.

Yamamoto.

I thought it was you who did this.

He cannot leave here alive!

You are putting down your sword sheath?

Did you admitting defeat?

No.

I will use your body as the sheath.

Shin Jung Tae?

What brings you here?

Why did you come here?

Isn't that so? You chew out a person you never heard of-our Shanghai ahjusshi.

Why do you keep following the funeral sites for him?

Perhaps, are you a gangster that steals money at funerals?

He's my father.

Who is?

Shanghai's "owner".

is my father.

You do exaggerate a lot.

How is that man...

The family member seating is inside.

Please go in this way.

Shangjoo?

Then he was telling the truth?

Him?

Why?

You're here.

I thank you in place of my family.

Not at all.

Your father, has done a lot.

Give him clothes.

Bang Joo Leader.

The elders of Chininbang has arrived.

Prepare the coffin.

What?

Until they enter for ceremony, we still have time.

Make sure you fine the real coffin with the body.

What if we can't find it?

Never mind the operation of Club Shanghai,

overnight Hwangbang will be decimated.

Get ready.

I have to go meet the elders.

Yes.

We're ready!

Move the casket!

We can't be late a second!

Yes.

Why?

What are you doing?

You stink.

What?

You. You stink.

I don't have time to talk nonsense with you, go.

I didn't come in here to talk nonsense either.

You are fake, right?

You are not his son, right?

Why do you think that way?

If you are his true son, you wouldn't be here like this now.

Are you an idiot?

I thought you were just a fake but your head is empty too.

Where your father lived is Bamsantong.

Bamsantong was your father and vice versa.

If you are going to have his funeral, it should be in Bamsantong.

Why are you having it at Hwangbang?

If you are his true son,

You wouldn't be here like this, right?

Wherever we have the funeral, why is that important?

Of course, its important.

All those people who wanted to pay their respect couldn't come here.

Why?

Because almost nobody has passes to enter the French controlled area.

What?

Your father looked after people in Shanghai all his life. Even after death, you want him to take care of those people again?

And not make it to his hometown?

Are you sure you are his real son?

You fake bastard!

Hey.

Ill Gook Hwae's Leader Deguchi has a sent the Shanghai's representative to pay respects.

Please come in.

Thank you for letting me pay our respects.

Not at all.

I am just thankful that you came.

Elders, this is Ill Gook Hwae's representative.

I'm Deguchi Gaya.

It's a privilege for me to meet all of the grand elders of Shanghai.

As you probably heard,

Shin Young Chool was...

Because

I haven't lived too long in Shanghai,

I am rather unfamiliar with Chirinbang elders' rules and etiquettes.

The elders' guidance and opinion...

No.

I ask of affectionate guidances from you, Elders.

She has a way of masking poison with her fragrance

Your Chinese traditional dress suits you well.

Since they say "When in Rome, do as the Romans," so

without knowing too much, I tried it on.

What do you mean not knowing too much?

You look great in it.

Isn't that so?

Then, I will formally greet you after I pay my respects to the deceased.

Ill Gook Hwae Deguchi Gaya

wishes you to rest in peace.

May I ask you, Bang Joo Leader one more thing?

Anything.

In Chinese funeral tradition, don't they look at the deceased one's face directly

and say their last farewell? Isn't that so?

isn't it?

No, it's right.

Ill Gook Hwae representative has studied our custom very well.

Then, if I say farewell to the deceased directly

would I be out of line?

May I say my farewell to the deceased.

Hurry! -Yes!

Bang Joo Leader.

May I say my farewell to the deceased?

Of course.

Then,

The coffin is made of quality material, I see.

I can see what you thought of the deceased just by looking at the coffin.

But a weakly woman like me can't open the casket by myself.

Will someone help me?

I'll help.

I will, too.

The coffin is empty!

There isn't a corpse.

Seol Ban Joo. Just what is going on here?

That...

How could you?!

How could you try to have a fake funeral without the deceased?!

Explain yourself.

There must be a reason.

Can I speak?

No, I'll tell them.

Bang Joo Leader.

Since the elders of Chirinbang are here now,

may I remove the fake casket and replace it with the real casket?

The fake casket?

Of course we should.

See to it that its moved.

Move the casket!

Yes!

See what is going on with Yamamoto and report back to me.

I understand.

First of all, surprising you elders with the fake casket.

I sincerely apologize.

Look here representative.

I think the representative's knowledge about our culture has some shortcomings.

In China, there is tradition when it comes to funeral. Its called Gaak Gwan.

Gak Gwan?

Gak Gwan is

Before picking out a good day for the funeral,

its customary to keep the deceased in your house.

Sometimes when picking a good day is delayed,

and worries about the body decomposing,

they make a fake coffin and keep the body separate.

But today, there is another reason.

The one who took the deceased life away.

I am worried that they may desecrate the deceased again.

Even to extent of making a fake casket,

I was protecting the deceased in another coffin.

Why the coffin was empty,

do you now understand, representative?

Of course.

Then, in that real coffin, you're saying the dedeased is in there?

Do you want to take a look?

Episode 12 Preview

What is this?

These bruises seem to have been caused before his death.

Bamsantong's legacy land on Jung Jae Ha's shoulder.

Ill Gook Hwae has not pull out its sword yet.

Go now. I don't hate you anymore, father. Go in peace.

Are you going to leave?

I am going to find the one who killed my father.

If there is anybody who saw a glimpse of you

Erase it.

You can kill me.

All of them think that they are the center of the world.

Put the China's invasion plan to work.

Jung Jae Ha, your end is here.

You know who killed our Hyungnim, don't you?
