It's for young people who are in need of something to do.

So, I was over the Arts and Music Department.

I met so many amazing teenagers.

I was able to pour into their life.

If I can help someone else to live a better life,

than that's what I feel like I'm here for.

Thank you for the work that you, you know,

helped me with and helped my kids.

Absolutely. And to encourage them is really important.

I think I was season 6.

It feel weird to come back? It's fun.

Gwen: Usher actually won "The Voice."

And he is the kind of artist that we all wish we could be.

He's been through a lot in his life,

to be able to share the way he does,

and I just was really inspired by him.

We got Payge and we got Ryan.

Payge is really interesting.

She's more like rock. No!

Ryan is a singer‐songwriter,

and he has a little bit of soul.

They both have these strong identities.

He's a triple threat,

He's a singer, a dancer, a producer,

She knows how to work the stage,

and I always just kind of feel lanky

I connect with the lyrics of the song

because moving to the U. S.,

leaving my mom, and then coming into a different country

and learning the different cultures,

I was the jock, but I was also the theater geek.

I've always been the person that never fits in, in school.

Gwen: I definitely see myself in Payge.

Like, we would be in a band together.

We have kind of similar vibes.

It seems like you're focusing on the singing

as opposed to the message for me.

Okay. I think you can act that out even more.

The more awkward and odd you can be,

even in the way that you're telling the story,

like, "I'm a creep." Yes.

So now you're down here because you're gonna cry.

It's like, it needs to be drama.

Okay. The rock elements that make this alternative

and allow you to come in to the experience

to what you're physically doing

is just as important as what you're singing.

But that's the emotion that you have to capture.

so I've grown into accepting that part of me,

but sometimes it does get to me.

If she were able to connect to that emotion

in the beginning,

I think she'd have an amazing performance.

I think that the song is about finding a home in a girl.

When I perform this song,

I'm thinking about my girlfriend, Kathy.

Kathy and I met at a burger restaurant in Dallas

that we used to work at,

and we've been together for about seven years now.

So the burger did the trick, for sure.

Musicianship is a very painful, long journey.

It takes a specific support system,

and I feel like I've found that in Kathy.

I want to hear more of the definition

of the different parts of your voice.

Okay. You got me early because of the tone of your voice,

and then halfway through it,

I felt like you really gave it even more than was necessary.

I think that it starts to take away from the emotion

if you're pushing too hard on the gas.

I didn't even know that you had the gift of a falsetto

Laura has been there for me through thick and thin.

To be able to win the knockout would be a blessing.

Blake: It's a great song choice, I think, for Ben

because this proves that he can do current country music

also and really nail it.

I'm probably not the expert on country music.

That's not true.

I had a song called "Neon Light,"

and Usher covered the song and he killed it.

You should hear his rendition of "Yeah!"

it didn't go over like I thought it would.

What it comes down to, just a little bit more finesse

because you're giving me about 50% more of that,

I think that country music in general is honest,

is they have that family harmony

and they're in their 80s. Uh‐huh.

So it's rocked us just a little bit.
