The Legend of Xiao Chuo

Episode 32

The little prince seems to be all right.

It's just getting late,

let's go back and pray in the tent.

All right.

You should be tired, Hunian.

Just go back to the tent and have a rest

The sick child distressed the mother.

I feel really bad in my heart

to see Yanyan like this.

Now think of the baby in my body,

I just hope he will make me worry less in the future.

You are being paranoid.

Our baby

will be fine.

Sleep now.

Why are you still up?

I'll read for a little while

and then I will go to sleep.

Sleep now.

Hunian.

Hunian.

Imperial Uncle.

Why don't you just go and get some rest?

Yes.

The bronze warrior is the Idol.

Kokocu Bartle is my ancestor.

Believing in Mongke Tenggeri.

There are many blessings upon the earth.

The bronze warrior is the Idol.

Kokocu Bartle is my ancestor.

Believing in Mongke Tenggeri.

There are many blessings upon the earth.

Yansage.

Yansage.

The bronze warrior is the Idol.

Kokocu Bartle is my ancestor.

Believing in Mongke Tenggeri.

Puge, it's been a long time,

why is there nothing

happened to the little prince?

Imperial Uncle,

I did give the little prince

this whole bottle of medicine.

If it didn't work,

it must be the medicine.

Is the medicine you gave good or bad?

imperial Uncle.

The little prince's present condition

has proved that my medicine is effective.

But the little prince, after all,

is not an ordinary child,

who is blessed by Emperor and Queen.

But Imperial Uncle,

you have to believe me

that my medicine must be useful.

I don't care what the reasons are,

in short,

if it doesn't work out in three days,

you will die.

Who is there?

It's you.

What are you doing?

You're following me.

Why are you doing this?

Yansage.

If you want to fight for it,

you should fight openly and fiercely against His Majesty,

and you should fight for the support of the officials.

Why have you done

such shady schemes and tricks behind the back?

Are you a man?

And you...

Why are you doing this?

Is His Majesty not good enough for you?

You're already the Princess Dowager,

who can enjoy the high honor

and the riches.

Why did you repay kindness with complaint instead of kindness?

What else do you want?

We didn't have a choice.

Princess Dowager.

We're all in this together now,

are you going to turn in your husband?

Puge.

Hunian.

Let's go back.

Let's go back.

Just keep doing what you're doing.

If you hold up my...

Hunian.

What about now, Imperial uncle?

I'll take the princess back,

you just deal with it.

Yes.

Let me go.

Okay.

Your Highness.

Your Majesty.

The tent of Princess Dowager is on fire.

What's going on?

Send someone to check it.

Yes.

Just put out the fire.

Let's go.

Go after them.

Princess Dowager.

Help.

Don't cry, don't cry.

Don't cry.

Your Majesty.

Your Highness.

The two princess dowagers were praying in the small tent,

and somehow the altar fell down,

which made one of them is dead and the other one is wounded.

Go check it out.

Come on.

What happened, Mr. Han?

There seems to be some medicine in it.

Your Majesty,

I'll see what I can find out.

Go ahead.

Chu Bu.

Yes.

What was going on?

When I came in,

I just saw two men in black running out of here.

Did you catch them?

Not yet.

It was dark,

they've got backup

and they knew the palace very well.

I had captured one of them,

but he killed himself on the spot.

Where did these two come from?

We're trying to figure out.

By the way, how about Puge?

Her injuries are severe

and she is still unconscious.

When she wakes up,

just make sure you know what's going on.

Yes.

You could say what you want, Chu Bu.

Your Majesty,

I saw the fire then I came here,

and I realized that it was the candlestick that had set the tent alight.

But here is what's strange

that the men in black were nimble

and there's no way they could have knocked over a candlestick.

Do you mean

that someone was setting fires on purpose?

Yes.

But if they were going to kill somebody,

them had to be as quiet as possible

and there's no way they wanted to set that fire.

You are right, Your Highness.

So it wasn't the killer who started the fire.

The one who started fire was trying to send a message.

There's nobody here

that suggested that one may still be alive.

The murderer

was so ruthless and insane

that if there is any hint of discovery,

he would have killed people,

and he didn't

let the two Princess Dowager and Shaman go.

Why

did he keep the man who had done them great harm?

Yansage?

Hunian.

Your Majesty and Your Highness,

the Imperial Uncle said the Princess was restless

and they needed to go home to rest,

so they have left and gone home before midnight.

It's them.

Don't be mad.

Don't touch me.

Yansage.

I'm expecting your baby

and you have done such a thing.

Aren't you afraid to be punished by Tengri?

Hunian.

Even if you hate me,

you can't curse yourself and your child.

You can't even hear a word,

and you have still done such things to their family

and you're trying to control them.

Do you have any humanity?

I don't want to be with you anymore.

Come back. Where are you going?

Let me go.

Are you going to turn me in to your sister?

Then just go ahead.

Let them come for me.

Let them kill me.

Hunian.

Did it ever occur to you

who the hell I have been doing this for?

It's all about our child.

At the beginning,

my father banished the Imperial King of Men

but didn't put Shizong in a difficult situation,

however, Shizong took my brother's throne.

After my brother who raised Mingyi was murdered,

Mingyi took my throne.

If you think about all this,

will anyone think about our child?

There is no kinship in these people's hearts.

I don't want to hear any of this nonsense.

Now that you mention the kid,

do you want your child to come out

and see his own father

with blood of the loved ones on his hands?

You promised me

you would never hurt my family.

Look at what you've done.

Yansage.

You have not only betrayed me,

but also our Khitan tradition

of not harming our descendants.

Hunian.

I know you're disappointed in me for doing this,

but you have to understand my reasons.

If I don't get everything back,

our lives will never be peaceful.

When I'm in charge of Liao Dynasty,

you will be the Queen

and our child will be the heir,

isn't it wonderful?

If you don't support me,

do you want our child

to be born without a father

and live as the child of sinner

under the suspicion of those in power?

Even you don't want to think about me,

you have to think about the baby.

You can't just be so wayward.

I have nothing to say to you.

Hunian.

I want you to think about it,

you and I and the baby,

we're the three of us,

we are the dearest people in the world,

and we can't hurt each other for other people.

Hunian.

Yansage left Palace in a hurry with my sister this morning,

he must have something.

It was said that Hunian was taken by Yansage.

As to what really happened,

I have no idea.

My sister must know something.

I'll have Xiuge lead the troops

-to save her from Taiping Palace. -Yanyan.

Yansage holds a large number of troops,

you mustn't act rashly.

But what if my sister's life is in danger?

Your sister is pregnant,

and Yansage won't harm her.

The combination of the Household troop and the Pishi troop

is enough to deal with Yansage or Gao Xun and Nüli.

However,

if three of them unite,

that will be a real problem.

So the most important thing right now

is to get Yansage to let the guard down.

I do have an idea.

We can use the reason that our son is safe

to host a family dinner,

to confuse Yansage

and let him not to fight desperately.

I could always borrow some troops from Wuguli.

Your Highness, Anxi and Fuhui are here.

Your Highness.

Get up.

Thank you, Your Highness.

My eldest sister has been taken away by Yansage.

You two just sneak back into Taiping Palace

to keep my eldest sister safe

and send message,

I'll have someone meet you outside.

Yes.

Why did Imperial Uncle take the princess away?

They're married.

Would Imperial Uncle want to harm the princess?

Imperial Uncle may be the one

who killed dad.

I'm afraid he doesn't have much heart for eldest sister either.

Don't let eldest sister know about this.

She's pregnant

and I'm afraid she won't be able to handle this.

You just have to protect her and get her out of the Palace.

The other things

have been arranged by me and His Majesty.

Yes.

Now,

if Xiuge and Dalin combine the troops together

to fight with Imperial Uncle or me alone,

they will have some chances.

But if we work together,

they will be sure to lose.

That's right.

On that day, you and Gao Xun will take your men

to contain Xiuge and Dalin,

and I'll take my men into the Great Hall

to take down the rebellious Ning King and Princess.

At that time,

we'll meet all the relatives of clans

to honor Imperial Uncle as the new Emperor of Liao Dynasty.

At that time, what happens in the temple

will depend on Prime Minister Gao.

And when it's done,

Xiuge's troop will belong to you.

Thank you, Imperial Uncle. I would like to shrink from no sacrifice.

Gaoliu.

Yes.

Make sure you keep an eye on the Princess.

Yes.

And the two servants.

Maybe we could just...

No way.

The Princess needs their services.

The Princess is now pregnant

and cannot be traumatized.

Yes.

You all just go back and get ready.

The family dinner

will be the day of our success.

Yes.

Husi, summon my troops at once

and inform the people around my eldest sister

to get ready to rescue her at any moment.

Yes, Your Highness.

Your Highness, there's a message from Imperial Uncle.

What's up?

Imperial Uncle says...

Your Majesty, Princess Dowager Puge has woken up.

Here comes His Majesty.

Your Majesty.

It doesn't matter.

Mingyi.

Mingyi.

Thank God Tengri

for giving me the opportunity

to confess my sin in person before I die.

I'm here.

If there is something you'd like to say,

just say it.

I just

want to talk to you alone.

Just leave us.

All right.

Go ahead, I'm listening.

I know, I know.

I know you won't forgive me.

I'm insane

that I had done so many evil things

without conscience

in order to survive.

All these years,

every night, I couldn't...

I couldn't sleep well.

All those years?

You just tell me

what you've been doing

all these years.

I...

I'm...

I'm sorry to you and your son.

But I was blackmailed by Yansage.

And a decade ago,

I was also coerced by him

to secretly replace the drugs

you needed to use.

Are you saying

I've been taking pills

for years

but I'm not getting any better

because of you?

It was Yansage who told you to do this,

wasn't it?

I have been controlled by others

since I feared death.

Once I lost

and I lost forever.

Mingyi.

Mingyi, I...

I am sorry.

I dare not ask you to forgive me.

I only want to make up for my sin

as much as I can before I die.

I secretly kept a little of the medicine

he asked me to change

and put it in the bottle

behind my shrine.

Maybe it can...

help you out a little bit.

Princess Dowager Puge.

Princess Dowager Puge.

Yansage.

The guard told me that you didn't take a good rest

or eat something.

Hunian.

I'm worried about

that you're ruining your health like this.

Are you worried about me?

You're just worried about the baby.

When will you let me out of here?

Of course I'm worried about you.

If you're really worried about me,

then why have you been trying so hard

to deal with the Yanyan's family?

Let the two of them come in.

You two just take good care of the Princess.

Yes.

These are your favorite dishes,

please have some.

How are you, Your Highness?

I'm all right.

Please eat something, Your Highness.

I can't eat.

You won't have the strength to run until you're full, Your Highness.

Do you have any idea?

I heard from Gaoliu

that Imperial Uncle is going to Yongxing Palace

to gather the old troops.

I'm guessing

he will take action.

What?

So you have to get out of here

before he does anything.

Otherwise...

I'm afraid if he fails,

he will be so mad that he will...

He won't hurt me and the baby.

But I don't want to stay here.

I'll arrange it.

You need to be careful.

You two just come in here.

The Princess fell down and you guys just come in to help.

Come on, Your Highness.

Rest assured, Your Highness.

The carriage is at the gate.

As long as we get out of this door,

we will be good to leave.

Hunian.

Are you really going to leave me?

Did you two really think

that you could get away

by buying off a few of my men?

My people are not the ones you can buy.

Take the Princess back.

Your Highness, go, go.

Anxi.

Your Highness.

Hunian.

Your Highness.

Anxi.

Hunian, Hunian, Hunian.

-My baby. -The baby.

The baby.

Summon Imperial Doctor.

Don't worry.

It's all right.

Your Highness, Your Highness.

How's the princess?

The baby...

We lost the baby.

What?

If you can't save the baby and the Princess,

What do I need you for, you quack?

No, no, Your Highness.

I can save the Princess.

I can save the Princess.

Then what are you still doing here? Just go.

Yes, Your Highness.

Baby.

My baby.

Am I doomed to be childless?

Hunian.

Hunian.

I did this to you.

As long as you're all right,

it's fine that we lost the baby.

We're going to...

We're going to have kids

and we're going to have lots of kids.

It's fine to lose this one.

The baby had stayed in my body for so long

that I could feel him growing up.

Yansage, you are a bastard.

Go away.

I don't want to see you again.

I cared about the baby, too.

He's my baby, too.

Hunian.

Why did you do this?

Why did you leave me?

Why did you leave me

at the risk

of losing our baby?

You can do anything for the throne,

where is your heart?

I want to put the supreme phoenix crown on you

and I want you to stand on the top with me.

But your heart has never been with me.

I don't want to get the phoenix crown

by such dirty means.

Hunian.

Sometimes, I really want to kill you.

I don't want to force you to go to the Palace today.

His Majesty thinks highly of you,

which is the blessing that few can boast, but you don't want it.

All I'm asking is

whether you are going today or not.

Anzhi,

it's just a family dinner today.

I can just sent word to my brother that I don't feel well.

Why do you have to go?

I dare not think of anything else with you,

and all I want is to be honored in the presence of others.

But now,

many people are gossiping behind us,

and you are still like this.

Am I supposed to spend the rest of my life

being unable to hold up my head in front of others?

I owe you.

"I owe you."

That's all you can say.

If you really think you owe me,

you should go and make a contribution to the court

and trample gossips under your feet.

Is that what you married me for?

It's my destiny.

Since you've been married me,

let's live this simple and plain life together,

isn't that great?

Or are you unwilling to it

and having another way out of this?

What's that supposed to mean?

That day,

I gave my life to be with you.

But you...

You just spend all day reading scripture behind closed doors.

I'm just a vulgarity

in your eyes.

And you don't love me anymore.

If only I had known this,

I would have died

by the sword of the fatuous emperor.

Why should I have lived to suffer all this?

Your Highness,

as you have ordered,

the present for His Majesty is ready.

When did I...

It was clumsy of you

to be ready now.

Let me check about it,

we can't make any mistakes.

Yes.

The little kind things that add up will naturally be rewarded.

The little evil things that add up will eventually destroy you

Anzhi.

It's just a family dinner today,

so I don't think we need to bring the gift.

You're so enigmatical.

Your Highness, the carriage is ready

and it's time to enter the palace.

Fuhui,

what's going on out there?

Your Highness.

Why is there full of turmoil and chaos?

It seems something happened in the Palace.

You go and find Gaoliu,

and just tell him I want to talk to him.

Yes.

Yansage.

What are you doing?

Are you...

Are you going to...

I can't wait any longer.

Let's put an end to it today.

Do you think you will win?

Do you want me to win?

This country is mine,

and I've arranged everything.

I wouldn't have returned to Shangjing City

if I hadn't been confident enough.

Do you think

I've really come back to be the Imperial Uncle?

I do not believe that God is always on his side.

In that case,

you're here to kill me, aren't you?

How could I possibly kill you?

You're my wife, my princess

and my future queen.

I want you to stand with me forever

to share the kingdom of Liao Dynasty.

You might as well kill me.

Take her away.

What are you doing?

Let go of me.

Your Highness, Your Highness, please take care.

What are you doing?

I'm trying to protect you.
