And today we're gonna get on an airplane and fly to this beautiful seaside town.

And ride my favorite roller coaster in the whole wide world,

the Super Duper Zuper.

Ooh, and don't forget the beach picnic under the stars.

She's away on a business trip. She'll meet us there.

It looks like our flight has been canceled.

Welp, I better get these bags back upstairs.

Oh, Doug, if it weren't for this rain,

we could be splashing in the hotel pool by now.

[giggles] Doug, of course we have a tub.

Everyone, take a suitcase.

and spare pairs of socks inside your suitcases at all times and hold on tight.

You know, I think the Super Robo Zuper

might be even more fun than the Super Duper Zuper.

It's definitely Zupier.

Plus, we did everything we were supposed to do on our Pine family vacation.

Well, we officially did all the things from our vacation

even if we aren't on a vacation.

So we're on a vacation even though we stayed home.

-We're on a [singsong] staycation! -[Mr. Pine laughs]

And I learned vacations aren't about going places.

They're about having a great time together.

There's just one problem. I can't find the blue shelves.

I see green, yellow, a color called burnt sienna, but not blue.

I could see why. Our warehouse is like a maze.

So use your robo map. It'll tell you the way to go.

It's like I always say,

"Get anywhere in a snap with your trusty robo map."

Oh, I see. And I'll be there in no time.

See? It's not so hard to find your way down here, son.

They're something humans use called hiking boots.

Hiking? Huh, I've never heard of that word.

Sounds like it's time for me to plug in and find out.

Oh, I see. A hike is a walk through the woods.

for some good old-fashioned robot-father robot-son robot bonding.

I hope we don't get lost.

Two words, one device: robo maps.

Let's get hiking.

Hey, listen, the trail is covered with fallen leaves.

Tiny acorns grow into these big trees? [chuckles] Talk about a reboot!

Ooh, this is called moss.

I had no idea it would be so soft.

These woods are amazing.

I can smell the wildflowers and hear the birds chirping,

a stream bubbling.

Oh, our trusty map's beeping.

[rustling]

That bush rustling.

-What do you think it is, Doug? -I'm not sure.

According to my data, it could be a rabbit or raccoon or a possum or--

-Ah! A big furry thing with horns? -It's called a moose.

It's enor-moose. That's what it is. Run, son. Run!

[grunts]

[rustling]

[squirrel chirrups]

-Whoa. -Whoa.

[both exhale]

Doug, I have good news and terrible news.

The good news, we've definitely lost that huge, scary animal

that was clearly chasing us through the woods.

The terrible news, I also lost the signal to my robo maps.

Mine's not working either.

Strange! That usually only happens in the deep woods

when there's nothing but trees for as far as the robot eye can see.

Um, Dad, I checked.

We must've gone further than I thought. No wonder our maps are out.

Oh, no! Without them, how will we know which way to go?

[gasps] How will we get back home?

It's okay, son. Don't set your processors to panic just yet.

We're not lost.

We'll just have to, um, uh...

retrace our steps.

Great idea, Dad.

Come on! I know we passed this rock and this leaf and this tree and this leaf.

-[squirrel chittering] -[Doug] And that rock.

-[Bob Bot] This tree. That rock. -[Doug] And that leaf. This tree.

And this leaf. And that rock. And this leaf. [warbling]

-Um, Dad? -Yes, son?

-I think we're lost. -Yes, son.

But maybe we can find another way to get around the woods.

I'm not sure how without our robo maps.

You mean we'll never get home?

Doug, my boy, my bot,

this is our home now.

What? We're going to live in the woods?

But how will we sleep? How will we reboot?

If only we could find our way.

Well, until we can get home, son, we have no choice.

And so, we will make a life for ourselves in the rough, wild, wild wilderness.

For we are now bots of the forest!

-[laughing] -Ah!

Well, I admit, while we robots may not be natural forest dwellers,

we sure can build some great houses.

The big leaf is even like a TV.

Too bad it only gets the bug channel.

Yep, yep, yep, this home is a beaut.

Nothing could ever possibly knock it--

[chittering]

So now what, Dad?

Not sure, Doug.

Our maps are out. We can't find our way home.

[both shout]

Oops! Sorry about that. I'm Kath, and this is my friend Barb.

We were just hitting our hiking groove when we heard a...

[imitates explosion]

-Followed by a sad... -No!

-So we thought, "Uh-oh, hikers in need." -Hikers in need.

[chuckles] That sounds like us. I'm Doug, and this is my dad.

We're bots of the forest! Eh, kinda.

You are? Huh, I always thought most robots lived at Rebots.

We used to, but then we went hiking and got lost.

Well, we can show you the way.

Really? Are your robo maps working?

We don't have a robo map.

But we can follow that yellow mark. That's called a trail blaze.

It's a sign that other hikers left to mark the way.

A blaze? Interesting.

But what way does it say to go?

Well, one blaze means go straight.

Two blazes with the right one on top means go right. See?

We're off and blazing now!

If the top blaze is on the left, it means...

-Turn left? -Correct.

Turn left, everyone!

We're off and blazing now.

But how do we know we're going in the right direction?

Well, you wanna get out of the forest, right?

-Yes, please. -That's, uh--

That's probably for the best.

Then we'll use this handy gadget called a compass.

It has four directions on it: north, east, south, and west.

North, east, um...

Oh, you know, I use a trick to help me remember the directions.

Never eat soggy waffles.

North, east, south, west.

I actually like soggy waffles, but it works.

[chuckles]

Now, to get outta the woods, we need to go west.

The compass points north, so we walk towards the west.

Try it.

[giggles] Which way are we walking?

[together] West. Waffles.

Yeesh, it might be hard to see the blazes.

It's getting kinda dark.

Oh, that's not such a bad thing, Bob Bot.

The sun can also tell us where we're going.

-Really? -Yep, it always sets in the west.

See, we're almost out of the woods.

-[maps beeping] -Whoa, Dad,

our robo maps just came back online.

Fantastic!

Ooh, so detailed.

[gasps] Even I'm on that map. Hi, me.

Wow, I was about to show you how the stars can guide you home,

but looks like you're all set.

Wait, the stars can be a map? I'd love to learn how.

Please show us.

Okay, let's get stargazing.

If it's too dark to see your compass...

And if you don't have cool [robot voice] light up robot maps...

You can find the North Star.

Is that it?

Yep, right at the tip of what's called the Little Dipper.

So if that's the North Star...

Never eat soggy waffles.

Then that way is west. Home is that way.

Lead the way, son.

We made it to the beginning of the trail!
