=Episode 24=

Qiuqiu,

what is it?

You're back.

That Daoyin and his gang

are too shortsighted to work with.

What's up?

Mingyi just ordered

the conferring of the kings.

Those guys with Daoyin

were moved in tears.

They hurried their asses

right to their lands.

Silly ass.

So what do we do?

We're leaving Shangjing

to the fiefdom?

Of course we can't leave Shangjing.

With Mingyi's condition,

he might pass away in no time.

We've had it twice.

We were not around

when both Emperors died.

We can't let it happen for the third time.

Why are you in such a good mood?

I'm thinking,

after returning to Shangjing,

I'll be able to entitle you as my queen.

Things are on the right track.

In fact, at the beginning,

I've made up my mind,

I would make you my queen.

Just then

the Board of Astronomy said the timing was wrong.

So I granted you as imperial concubine.

Yanyan.

I have decided

to share with you

this country.

I want to let the whole world know

you are my queen.

Only after I have you,

I know

finally in this world

I can now have someone to talk to.

It's also because of you,

I now found

the peace

in my heart.

(Kaihuang Palace)

(Kaihuang Gate)

Open the fan.

Your Majesty.

Her Highness shall receive her title.

When human society started,

we established relations.

All noble and ordinary

should follow the will of god.

Respect parents and the master.

Set up education and emphasize the rules.

Xiao Yanyan is of kindness.

She is gentle and nice.

Honest and upright.

Respectful and practice thrift.

Beautiful with talents.

Therefore, I now announce her as the Queen.

Hope she will show the world with good example.

Win the hearts of the people.

Be worthy at her place.

Bear heirs for the Emperor.

Her name is now on the jade book to show the world.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

My queen, please rise.

All men to congratulate Her Highness.

On your knees.

Congratulations to the new Queen.

Long live our Queen.

You may all rise.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Did you hear that?

Shangjing has just finished with crowning ceremony.

That was a real scene.

It's said

they gave out nearly 100 taels of gold alone.

She was just entitled as the imperial concubine.

Now she's the queen.

She's really Emperor's favorite.

She is.

His Majesty

loves her so much.

After all, the Queen

is the daughter of Prime Minister.

She's different.

Don't know what she likes，

or you and me

can transport some special goods there,

then we will be rich.

Man, you're right.

Let's drink to that.

Help yourself to the food.

Come on, come on.

Miss, we have a letter from home.

What is it?

You told them

we will pass Datong?

Miss.

I'm afraid Madam would be worried.

So when Childe Han

said we would go to Datong,

I told the guards

to pass the message.

You won't blame me, right?

Forget it. Let's not talk about this.

Are they all good back home?

Don't worry, miss.

Master and Madam are all good.

His Majesty has entitled the Queen.

Yeah.

Miss Yanyan

made it as Queen.

It's a good thing, miss.

Miss Yanyan is now the Queen.

Childe Han

will have to get rid of his thoughts.

Shut up.

No matter she is the imperial concubine

or the Queen,

such palace affairs

are not something we can talk about.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Your Highness, are you pregnant?

You didn't have

your period yet.

I'm going to get Diligu.

Your Highness, Concubine Xige is here to see you.

I know

I can't compete with the Queen.

I dare not ask for more.

It's just that

there are times when you can't serve His Majesty.

Your Highness,

you can't be so overbearing,

taking His Majesty for your own.

Xige.

You should go to His Majesty.

Not me.

With you as the Queen,

I can't even see His Majesty.

I have no right to interfere His Majesty.

If you're not happy,

I can let you leave the palace.

You can marry whoever you want.

Leave the palace?

You are still young.

You still have time.

There's no need

to satisfy for your family's ambition,

and waste your good years in the palace.

If you want to,

I'll arrange for you to leave the palace at once.

You can marry

someone you really like.

You don't have to

beg other woman

to share the husband with you.

No, I'm not leaving the palace!

-Mind your behavior! -I'll never leave the palace!

You're trying to harm the Queen

and the little Prince?

Little Prince?

Diligu is here.

Let him in.

Yes.

Little Prince?

She is pregnant. She's pregnant!

Concubine Xige.

Please leave.

His Majesty has arrived.

What's wrong, Diligu?

Congratulations, Your Majesty.

Her Highness is now pregnant.

It's been two months.

She's pregnant?

Po.

Yes.

Tell the world the good news.

I want to celebrate with the whole world.

Yes, Your Majesty.

I'm going to be a father!

The Queen is now pregnant.

We have a lot of things to pay attention to.

Her diet is now particularly important.

Diligu.

Your Majesty.

I'll give you an assignment.

You must guarantee the Queen

to give birth to the Prince in good health.

Your Majesty, don't worry.

Also,

the people who serve the Queen,

you should strictly screen them.

There must be no deviants.

Po, I'll leave it to you.

If anything goes south,

I will hold you responsible.

I'll guard Your Majesty,

Her Highness and little Prince

with my life.

By the way,

did Prime Minister Siwen

know about this?

Not yet, probably.

Send someone to tell him right now!

I'm telling you,

I will go all-in

for this joyful event.

Alright.

Prime Minister, please.

After the Queen gives birth to the Prince,

our country will be stable.

Yeah, yes.

We all look forward

to seeing the little Prince.

Yeah.

Little Prince

will be just like His Majesty,

brilliant and divine.

Yeah, he must be.

We hope Prime Minister can take care of us.

These fickle bastards.

It's because your Xige

couldn't get pregnant.

Yanyan is pregnant?

Great!

Liulishou,

you're about to have

a little cousin to play with you.

Are you happy?

Xiyin.

You're not happy?

The edict came from the palace,

His Majesty will invite

all kings and ministers to celebrate in Kaihuang Palace.

She's just pregnant.

Look at this big show.

You gave birth to my son.

But I couldn't

celebrate it for you like this.

Xiyin.

I know you're good to me.

But we

don't have to win every time.

His Majesty is not in good health.

His place will be yours sooner or later.

My good girl.

I'm so lucky to have you.

Every time I see you, I...

Shut it.

Fortunately, Yanyan is pregnant.

Or someone

will be always thinking about

giving my Liulishou away.

Still remember that?

I was just saying.

Who knows

what do you mean?

Liulishou,

don't cry, don't cry.

Don't cry.

Here you are, look at this.

Your Majesty, Your Highness.

King Wuzhi is about to die.

Thank you for coming.

Please.

Quick, come on.

Move fast!

Please.

Father,

it seems all clans from the queen's family

have sent people here.

Let's go.

Your Excellency.

How is King Wuzhi?

His Majesty and Her Highness are with him.

Your Majesty now has an heir,

I can rest assured.

I remember

the battle in Hengdu.

If you didn't

persuad Empress Dowager Shulü,

our country would have been torn apart for a long time.

And

the rebel in Mount Xianggu.

Without you,

I could have been a ghost for a long time.

The most important,

is the incident at Black Mountain.

If

you weren't there to turn the game,

our country would not be like this today.

The three unrest subsided

all because of you.

I really don't know

who should take charge of the overall situation

when you are not around.

His Majesty.

Don't say that.

I'm just

trying to stabilize Liao.

I didn't stop

or avoid the civil strives

in recent decades.

Now Your Majesty are brilliant.

The reform is ongoing.

The Queen is pregnant.

I can finally rest assured.

The road is full of obstacles.

When I leave,

fortunately,

you still have Siwen to help you.

Our Queen

has both ability and political integrity.

She can be a great help to you.

Please rest assured,

I know what to do.

Father and I will help His Majesty

to guard this country.

Let them all come in.

Po.

Gentlemen, please.

Let's go.

Go, go.

Let's go. Let's go.

Your Highness.

Yanyan.

From now on,

you must work together.

We have Your Majesty,

our future Prince,

and

such excellent Queen.

We have no more worries.

When I'm gone,

you all have to

do your best to assist His Majesty.

Revitalize our country.

Yes, Your Excellency.

Premier!

Prime Minister Siwen!

I want to see Prime Minister Siwen!

Prime Minister Siwen!

What's going on?

Prime Minister Siwen.

I'm going to report Nüli and Gao Xun.

I have proof here!

You see, I have evidence here!

Let me see it.

What?

We were reported by someone to Xiao Siwen?

I have someone inside the Prime Minister's mansion.

The source is reliable.

It's no big deal.

It's nothing more than accusing us of taking bribes or breaking the laws.

Wait until we find a chance

to catch the snitch.

Who said it's about corruption?

We've been accused of rebellion!

Who said that?

It's because you're too careless!

Now Xiao Siwen

has the documents.

If it's not handled properly,

there will be real trouble for us.

What about now?

Xiao Siwen had been trying

to cut our power.

He's not going to let go

of this great opportunity.

He has sent someone

to check this out.

If we want to be ahead of him,

we have to move in a advance.

We

can't just sit and wait to die.

What's your opinion, brother Gao?

Let the people around Xiao Siwen

to take his life.

In a few days, His Majesty will go hunting in Mount Lüshan.

Xiao Siwen must be with him.

The guards of His Majesty

are all in your hands.

This is the best chance.

You open up a breach,

and let

the assassins in.

It's so late.

Why do you come here?

Come on, slow down.

It must be hard for you these days.

It's just a pregnancy.

When our ancestors were pregnant,

they went on to hunt on horseback,

they even led the troops to war.

Now you

won't even allow me to ride.

I'm like a porcelain now.

This is your first child.

Of course, we have to be careful.

You know what,

when the baby is born,

I promise you,

I will accompany you on a hunt.

OK?

By the way,

how is our little Prince

doing today?

He's fine, but you're not.

What's wrong with me?

Diligu said

your pulse has been disordered these days.

You need to have more rest.

Take your medicine on time.

Did you do it?

These days,

I have been busy.

Look at all these memorials.

I have to go through them one by one.

But I promise you,

from tomorrow,

I will take the medicine on time,

Okay?

I've been thinking about it recently.

After the birth of our Prince,

I won't let him be like me,

repeat my past.

I will do my best

and give him a promising country.

That's what you really think?

That's what I think, of course.

Then you have to listen to me.

Nüli and Gao Xun

supported you to ascend the throne

back in Black Mountain.

So you granted them a lot of power.

Now you're cutting down

on their power.

It's very dangerous.

They are bound to react to this.

Once they get out of control,

the consequences will be unimaginable.

What you are doing now,

even as someone who doesn't understand politics,

I can tell that you are not on the right path.

What I'm doing

is for one reason only,

the balance.

Over the past decade,

every turbulence in our country

was caused by the clan.

Father,

in order to win over the imperial clan,

he used Chage.

And Yelü Jing

had been too suspicious.

Although he valued the royal clan,

but

he also killed on the clan.

I learned from them.

Courtiers and clans

must be kept in balance with each other.

Too much care will lead to chaos.

You worry too much.

Think about it, ever since you're entitled,

everything

is going in the right direction.

Now the only thing left is the birth of our little boy.

But I still have

one more concern.

My father is in too much power right now.

He's bound to be envied by others.

It's going to put him in danger.

What you said,

I understand all that.

But I can't place the power with the wrong person.

If I give power to the wrong person,

it's going to get us killed.

But...

All right, all right.

Don't think too much.

I promise you.

I'll take your advice.

But about this,

we can't rush it.

With the power,

I have to divide it slowly.

As for the candidates,

I have to take my time with them.

You know what?

In a few days,

I will be with your father

to go hunting in Lüshan.

By that time,

I will consult with him,

to see what we can do about it.

You stay in the palace with our baby.

-Your Majesty... -By the way.

I remember one thing.

The two princesses, didn't they

upset you?

A few days ago, they made a scene.

Well.

If they

can't serve you well,

I will tell them not to come.

Thank you very much.

Come on.

Drink, master.

(Xiao Haizhi) Please drink.

You drink it, too.

(Xiao Haili)

Don't move!

Help, help!

These two bastards

forced on us sisters.

We couldn't fight them.

We can't live now we have been tainted

What are you talking about?

Now Queen is pregnant.

It's a great thing for the country.

I should know better

than to bother you

at this time.

I'm not that well-educated,

forgive me if my words are not nice enough.

Prime Minister Siwen.

You let your nephews

rage through the town,

insult my servants.

Why would you do such a thing?

Mr. Gao.

I don't understand.

Two days ago,

two of my maids were raped.

Normally when such a thing happens,

we would take the perpetrators

to the court.

But they said...

They claimed

to be your nephews.

One is Xiao Haizhi.

One is Xiao Haili.

I heard one of them

would be your adopted heir.

Normally,

I won't get into

other people's business.

But you are not

from an ordinary family.

The family of the queen

matters to the country.

Prime Minister Siwen.

Mr. Gao.

I now know about it.

I'll look into it later.

If it was like you said,

I will make sure to punish them.

You may leave now.

Somebody go see Mr. Gao off.

Uncle!

We know we did wrong.

Forgive us.

Uncle, spare us please.

Uncle.

Uncle!

You did a wrong thing,

instead of making up to it,

you think about the adoption?

Listen, both of you.

Even if I die,

you won't be the ones to be in charge of our family.

Uncle.

We know we did it wrong.

Uncle, forgive us.

Uncle.

Go back to your house and repent on what you did.

I'll get to you

when I come back from Lüshan.

Get lost!

Uncle, we know we're wrong.

Uncle,

we know it's wrong.

I heard father would accompany His Majesty

to the hunting in Lüshan.

Second sister will go with you.

It's a pity that I can't go with you.

His Majesty cares about you.

He wants you to stay safe in a palace with the baby.

After the little Prince is born,

the situation will be more stable.

Your eldest sister

talks about you a lot these days.

You can let her come into the palace to accompany you.

What do you think?

Sure.

I would love

to have my sister with me.

These days,

I'm stuck in the palace.

It's getting very boring.

All these people

are onto me all day long.

So father, you don't have to worry about me.

Father,

normally you don't sleep well

during summer.

So I

made you

this little sachet.

There are citronella,

mugwort and wrinkled hyssop in it.

When you go to bed at night,

put it by the pillow,

it can get rid of mosquitoes and flies as well.

It smells nice.

My daughter has grown up.

You now know to take care of me.

This is the first time I made this.

You can't say you don't want it.

I won't.

I love it so much.

I remember

when you were young,

you were the one who bothered me the most.

You were the one who I cared for

the most.

Now

the one I feel most in debt

is still you.

Yanyan.

I...

Father,

I don't blame you anymore.

It's just fate.

Don't blame yourself for it, father,

OK?

OK.

Alright.

By the way, father.

Why don't you give a name

to your little grandson?

This should be done by His Majesty.

Father, you have to be fair.

You named second sister's

Liulishou.

My child

has to be named by you.

You promised me you would do it.

Look at you,

still daddy's little girl.

I will always be your little girl.

OK, alright.

During this trip to Lüshan,

I will really think about it.

I will come back with a beautiful name

for my little grandson.

Once uncle comes back from Lüshan,

he will hold the assembly

to expel us from the family.

We will never inherit his position.

Uncle is so heartless.

It seems that we have to find our own way out.

Yeah, no more hesitation.

After all, we two

are closest in bloodline to uncle.

If he has an accident,

then we will automatically

be adopted to him.

Then

what happened with Gao Xun will be nothing.

Let's make it clear.

We are going to do this together.

We will split up the benefits.

OK, it is settled.

Uncle will accompany His Majesty to hunt in Lüshan.

This is the defense map of the hunting.

I paid a lot of money

to get it from the guard of Nüli.

From the guard of Nüli?

Nüli knew about our plan?

Of course not.

The guard was in need of money,

that's why he pledged it to me.

This is a deadly crime.

There can be no mistakes.

You should be very careful.

Do you understand?

I got it. I got it.

Where is this place you are talking about?

We don't have much time left.

OK, I'll take you there tomorrow.

Gentlemen.

Do you come for the dye or the cloth?

How can we get dye and the cloth?

Follow me.

You're here

for the cloth?

Come in, please.

Please.

Cheers, now eat!

Cheers!

How should I address you?

Goodbye.

I have money.

Do you have the right merchandise for me?

(Royal hunting ground in Lüshan)

It has just rained.

It's a good time to hunt.

I haven't gone hunting for a long time.

I do want to give it a try.

But I'm not as good as Prime Minister Siwen

with archery.

I'm flattered.

To see Your Majesty

in better condition,

I am very relieved.

It's all because of Yanyan.

She untied

the heaviest knot from me.

No one can understand,

what this baby

means to me.

For me,

for this country,

it's very important to have an heir.

But what I really care about

is that after so many years of hard work,

I finally have some achievements.

Ever since I took the place,

I walked on thin ice.

I wouldn't allow myself

to have the slightest mistake.

I think about it every day,

what will be the future

for our country.

I know my time is running out.

I want Yanyan

to achieve

everything we've pictured.

Now

Yanyan has my child.

I finally see hope.

Your Majesty.

Would you like to hear

about what I really think?

Please.

The pass of King Wuzhi

has cost us support in the course.

The court will be unstable.

Yanyan is the Queen.

She should share your worries.

But

she just got pregnant.

I don't want her to think too much.

The top priority is to let Yanyan

give birth to Prince.

Then I

can rest assured as her father.

Prime Minister Siwen, please rest assured.

I will remember what you said.
