=Episode 7=

Get out of the way.

Your Majesty.

Just stand up as you were.

Taiping King,

how’s the murder investigation going?

Your Majesty,

I’ve arrested all the people

involved in the case.

Please check the roster, Your Majesty.

I know

there are a lot of conspirators

who were relying on luck,

and not to mention

the parents and relatives of these traitors,

even their usual acquaintance

must have known their plot.

Those who failed to report the facts

should be convicted for the same charge.

Your Majesty,

there is wisdom from the ancestors

that the crime of treason is just to charge against oneself,

not against one’s children.

I didn’t want to charge

their children.

Listen,

all those who have taken part in the assassinations,

no matter how deeply involved,

must be sentenced to death.

Your Majesty!

If they were all condemned to death,

I’m afraid every Khitan family in Shangjing City

would lose friends or relatives.

Please have some mercy!

Mercy?

Do you think

I should be merciful

to the crime of conspiring?

Or do you think

the life of the conspirator

is more valuable than mine?

I dare not think like that.

As you wish, Your Majesty.

Come on, move.

-Let go of me. -Come on, move.

Behave. Come on

-Let go of me. -Go

Just move.

Let me go.

-Let me go. I’m wronged. -Move.

What are you crying? Just go!

Let me go.

Come on, go.

-Let go of me. -Just be quick.

-Come on, keep up. -Let me go.

I didn’t do it. I’m wronged.

Why did you arrest me?

I was wronged.

-Behave. -I was wronged

Father,

what’s going on here?

Let me go.

The fatuous ruler must have lost the battle.

I know that guy

if he couldn’t beat people outside

he would come back and vent his anger on the internal murder.

In this cell,

maybe few people could survive.

Wuguli, your father is back

and he will figure out a way

to get you out of here.

I just hope

you and Xiyin can get out of prison

and regain your life

to leave a trace of blood for our Lihu.

I can’t thank you enough for that.

Imperial uncle, don’t worry.

If I can get out of here,

I wouldn’t give Xiyin up to live alone.

With your words,

I have nothing to worry about.

Xiyin,

remember what you said

and be sure

to take up the power

for our family.

Father, don’t worry.

As long as

I could get out of here alive,

that must be

what I’ll live for.

My good girl,

I know this road is not easy

and I could die at any time.

You come from the queen family,

and no matter who you marry, you will have a peaceful life.

If you don’t want to...

Stop.

Since I have decided to marry you,

I will always be with you

and accompany you

to do all the things you want to do.

Move.

Get down on your knees.

Get down on your knees.

Father.

Imperial uncle,

I’m here to see you off.

Yansage, you bastard!

You’ll hurt my father over my dead body!

It’s too noisy. Keep them quiet.

What are you doing?

What are you doing?

Imperial uncle.

Do you drink the wine yourself,

or let me help you?

Yansage,

we made a deal

that you would not hurt my son Xiyin.

All right.

I’ll drink the wine myself.

But Yansage,

after all you’ve done

for the fatuous emperor,

do you really think

he’ll give you the crown?

Stop dreaming!

Today,

I will drink this poisonous wine

and die,

but you will be the next one.

Imperial uncle,

don’t worry about

what happens after you die.

Xiyin,

don’t forget the promise for me.

Just keep it in mind.

Give a lavish burial to Imperial Uncle.

Father, father.

Father!

Father!

Father!

Father!

Why do all these beasts

have to fight against us?

Father!

I will fulfill your last wish.

Xiyin, Xiyin.

Xiyin.

My girl,

now

you’re my only one,

only one.

I’m here. I’m here.

-Only you. -I have been there all the time.

I’m here. I’m here.

Xiyin,

What your father didn’t make,

we will do it.

What we can’t make,

our children and grandchildren can do it.

It’s all right, Xiyin.

It’s all right.

Your Highness,

are you going to

let go of Xiyin?

Don’t let the misfortune hit the posterity, right?

But you killed Imperial Uncle,

Xiyin must harbor a grudge in the heart,

which could be a future trouble.

How should he turn against me?

As a callow youth

who has never even gone to battlefield,

he’s nothing

without Lihu’s protection,

But it looks like

the second daughter of Prime Minister Siwen

has a crush on him.

If he really could

marry Wuguli,

I’m afraid

Prime Minister Siwen

will be on his side.

I really want him to propose.

If I suddenly propose a marriage,

Prime Minister Siwen must prevaricate.

But if his second daughter

marries Xiyin,

he could not refuse

my marriage with Hunian.

It’s genius, Your Highness.

Congratulation, Your Highness.

You are going to have a big wedding.

Master, master.

Master,

Taiping King sent the letter

saying that we should send someone to pick up Miss Wuguli

in prison.

He actually did it.

Hunian. Hunian.

Go and get your little sister back as soon as possible.

-I’ll go, too. -Okay.

I haven’t seen her

for couple of days.

Please let me go, dad.

Come on, let’s go.

Your Highness,

words came from the prison

that Xiyin and Wuguli have escaped from death.

I get it.

Just step down.

Taiping King,

why did you

let Xiyin and Wuguli off so easily?

Is it because

that you have a crush on

Prime Minister Siwen’s daughter?

-Wuguli. -Wuguli.

Hunian, Yanyan.

Wuguli,

I thought

I would never see you again.

Thank God, you’re fine.

Come on, let’s go home.

Dad is still waiting for you at home.

Xiyin.

Xiyin.

Why are you with him?

Do you know

you were in serious trouble?

Just come back with us.

I’m not going home, Hunian.

I’m not going home.

I’m going with Xiyin.

Xiyin and I

are engaged in the prison.

Do you know

what you are talking about?

You are engaged with this traitor?

Are you trying to

piss me and dad off?

Please don’t say that about him.

Xiyin is the one I love

and I’m going back with him.

Come back with me.

I’m not going home.

Come back with me.

No.

All right, all right, Hunian,

Wuguli just came out

and she must have had a hard time in there.

Let’s go.

I’m not going back.

My good girl,

please go back with your sister.

I can’t go back.

When I go back,

I will never come out again.

Silly girl,

since I want to marry you,

I will come and propose by myself

and I’ll marry you with dignity.

You go back first,

and wait till I pick you up.

Wuguli and I are in real love

and I will never leave her.

Hunian,

please take good care of Wuguli.

Don’t call me name!

I have nothing to do with you.

Wuguli has nothing to do with you, either.

Come back with me.

Xiyin.

Let’s go.

Xiyin.

Wuguli,

do you regret it

after having suffered so much?

I do not regret.

Were you scared?

I...

I was scared.

Dad, I was scared.

During the days I was in there,

I thought about

someone was going to arrest me

and going to pull me out and kill me

every time when I closed eyes.

Dad,

I was scared to death, Dad.

All right, all right.

Stop crying.

Get up, kid.

You...

All right.

Now that you’re back,

you don’t need to be scared.

Whatever you want to do,

you could just tell dad,

and dad will say yes,

except for Xiyin.

Dad!

Why don’t you say yes

to the thing about Xiyin?

Because he’s the one

who made my daughter like this.

How can I tolerate him?

Dad.

These are not Xiyin’s fault.

He’s having a hard time and he’s in pain.

My girl,

do you really want to marry Xiyin?

His father just died,

and even His Majesty didn’t kill him now,

He will have a hard time.

Don’t you understand it?

I know all this.

But that’s because

Xiyin

is left alone now

and he is so lonely,

so I want to be with him

and help him.

Please fulfill my dream, dad.

Dad.

Dad.

Please let me marry Xiyin.

I really want to marry Xiyin.

-Dad. -Wuguli.

Listen,

you are my daughter

and I’m responsible for your life.

That’s the deal.

Go back to your room and have a good rest.

Dad.

Dad.

If you don’t agree,

I won’t get up.

Hunian,

just take your sister back

and take good care of her.

Don’t let her make any trouble again.

Dad.

Dad.

Get up.

Get up.

Let’s go back first.

Let’s go.

Dad, I’m begging you.

Dad.

Dad, don’t be so angry.

Wuguli was just confused.

Since she is back

and she’s fine,

please don’t hurt yourself

just because of her.

It’s my fault, I have spoiled her too much.

Dad,

how do you

feel about Derang?

What do you mean?

It’s...

All your three

will have to be married to

the three branches descendants of the Emperor Taizu.

It’s the responsibility of our queen family,

and it’s also the differentiation of power.

No one could change it.

In the future,

if your elder sister and second sister

are both married to the royal family,

you might have chance

to choose the one you like.

Just a little bit harder.

(The King of Yan Palace)

The red one is more suitable for festive occasions.

So let’s use the red one.

Just change this as well.

Yes.

And this one has to be changed.

-Okay. -Derang.

I didn’t expect that

I had the day of being crowned king.

I had intended to

devote all my talents to Liao Dynasty,

and relied on my political ability

to gain grant tittle to the wife and children,

but I didn’t want to be crowned king

because of my medical skills due to the fatuous emperor’s favor.

It’s pathetic and ridiculous.

Father,

you don’t have to be upset about it.

Although this time because of Xiao Gu,

you are crowned king by His Majesty,

but I think

this is not a bad thing.

You know

His Majesty is fatuous,

but he still

controls everything in Liao Dynasty,

and we still need to gain a foothold

for another day.

But I really feel

that whether the state affairs

or people’s livelihood

are very frustrating.

Father,

to be a king could be in charge of more power,

so that

we can have more influence over the court

in the future.

You’re right.

The only advantage of being a king

is that we would enlarge

our private area

and build a city under our name,

and we can

shelter more people.

What are you still talking about there?

Just come and help me.

It is a big deal to be crowned king,

and by then,

a lot of people will come to congratulate us,

we can’t be rude.

Got it, mom.

It’s said that the second daughter of Prime Minister Siwen,

Wuguli,

has just released from prison,

and as soon as she’s released,

she was clamoring to marry Xiyin.

So,

the last piece

has been matched.

Yansage

is really a great rascal.

In the secret letter from Youzhou to His Majesty,

it was not mentioned

the thing about Wuguli and Xiyin.

It seems

he has been aiming at Hunian

for a long time.

Lihu has died in prison for his crime,

after the ordeal in prison,

Wuguli has been completely determined

to Xiyin.

Xiyin wants to marry Wuguli,

and meanwhile,

Yansage would ask Prime Minister Siwen

to marry Hunian,

as thus,

he’ll have a better chance.

His wishful thinking

was perfect.

But he never thought

we would give him some trouble.

His Majesty is suspicious,

sometimes he’s sober,

but most of time,

he has been acting absurdly after dinking.

Thanks to his brother Yansage’s help,

he was able to hold the situation stable.

If

we can turn the two brothers against each other,

I think the situation will be in our favor.

You really hit the nail on the head.

The one who has achieved great success is in danger.

What’s more,

His Majesty is so unfathomable.

I wonder

if Nüli tell this matter

to His Majesty,

whether it would have aroused suspicion between the two brothers.

If we can disrupt the steps of Yansage,

maybe

it will be a new turning point

for our overall situation.

It would depend on

whether the trust between their brothers

would stand up to the arrow from Nüli.

One more.

I thought

I’m getting better.

I didn’t expect

that the arrow would not even hit the target.

Your arm is not strong enough,

it’s better to borrow a little elbow strength.

Lift it up,

and use some skills.

Great.

Go back and have a rest.

Your wounds are not yet healed

and just take your time.

I remember that day on the prairie,

you and I were chased away,

I

can’t even control a startling horse,

and was almost

caught by Yansage.

Fortunately, there was a girl

who brought me back safely.

After a while, I thought to myself

that I won’t be so lucky every time,

therefore,

I still need to

practice riding.

It’s a good thing

that you met that girl.

Do you mean

that you know that girl?

She is the youngest daughter of Prime Minister Siwen.

Oh, I see.

I remember you said

that the Xiaos have three daughters,

and two of them

have already been taken.

As for the rest of the girl,

many of the royal family

must be watching her.

Yeah.

The girls from the queen family

have to be married to the royal family.

It is not clear

whether they will have the right

to choose.

The freedom to choose.

It’s really admirable

one should have the freedom to choose.

Since the Mount Xianggu Rebellion,

I don’t have any more chance

to choose for myself.

For that matter,

I really envy you.

Bro Han.

By the way,

I’ve always wanted to ask you a question

that if you had to choose

between the great cause and the relationship,

what you would choose.

In my heart,

we should attach great importance to the great cause.

How could you fall in love

when the great cause has not been accomplished?

Yeah.

The great cause has not been accomplished,

how could we build our home?

It’s really fun.

Come on, come on.

Nüli,

is there anything interesting

in Shangjing City recently?

There is one

which is hilarious.

But I don’t know

if I should tell you right in front of you.

There’s nothing you couldn’t tell

between you and me.

Come on.

This matter

has something to do with Taiping King.

Yansage?

Your Majesty. Your Majesty.

Your... Your Majesty.

Let me tell you

if you lie a little bit,

I will not spare it.

Say it.

Your Majesty, I get it.

It’s about the rebellion of Lihu,

and Xiyin must have known it,

but Taiping King concealed it for him.

Yansage is my brother,

why did he conceal it for Xiyin?

I didn’t believe it at first,

however,

when we went there to arrest people

in Lihu’s Mansion,

we seized the second daughter of Prime Minister Siwen.

At that time,

She’s having a secret tryst

with Xiyin.

This matter

has not been reported

in the memorial of Taiping King, hasn’t it?

Do you mean

Xiao Siwen’s daughter?

Yes.

Taiping King

falls in love

with the eldest daughter of Prime Minister Siwen,

that’s why he kept it secret for her family.

It is

really a funny thing happened

in Shangjing City.

Taiping King falls in love

with Prime Minister Siwen’s daughter.

It seems that he is really driven by passion.

He does need to be punished

to be bold to bend the law.

Anyone?

What is the command, Your Majesty?

Taiping King handled affairs improperly,

just have him flogged for 20 times

and deprive of

his duty of Commander of Household Troops.

And after that, you just go to Yongxing Palace,

and the Prince Xian

is appointed as Commander of Household Troops.

Just go.

Come on.

Come on, tell me

what else is interesting.

The Prince Xian is virtuous, loyal, brave, filial,

calm and restrained,

now he is appointed as Commander of Household Troops.

Hope he will do his duty and share the Emperor’s sorrow.

Thank you for your kindness, Your Majesty.

Thank you, lord Niangu.

Chu Bu.

Yes, Your Highness.

Just see lord Niangu off.

Yes, Your Highness.

Thank you very much, Your Highness.

Please.

Your Highness.

Congratulations on your appointment, Your Highness.

Now you can go out of the palace to build a mansion

and you won’t have to

live under the roof

and be held hostage anymore.

Bro Han,

what do you think of it?

Your Highness,

we should not be lightly involved

in the affairs of the Household Troops.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

If we have military power,

it will benefit our great course.

Your Highness,

don’t you think

there’s something a little strange about it?

It is because the opportunity is too good,

so I think

you should be more careful.

Your Highness,

I suggest you write a letter to decline it.

Isn’t that right, Mr. Han?

If we miss this opportunity,

we’ll be further and further away

from military power.

What about it after I write the letter to decline it?

If His Majesty really trusts you

and wants to grand you an official position,

he will not withdraw his appointment

because of a rebuff from you.

If he’s just testing you...

His Majesty is always suspicious,

and I really can’t take the risk.

Po,

prepare the pen and ink.

I want to write the declining letter.

Your Highness!

Don’t try to persuade me anymore.

Brother Han is right.

I’m too inconsiderate

and almost make it fail.

Just go ahead.

Yes, Your Highness.

Your performance

is much better than I expected, Your Highness.

But think about your age,

maybe

Your Highness,

you should deal with your mistakes by yourself,

and I will make up for you.

I can’t always count on you

to fix it for me.

I have to learn to be independent.

Was Taiping King

beaten by His Majesty?

It was said that His Majesty got the news

that Taiping King was favoritism,

and he hid some information

in the secret letter sent to Youzhou.

So His Majesty had him be flogged for 20 times,

and deprived of

his duty of Commander of Household Troops.

Get the carriage ready for me.

Yes, madam.

Hunian,

Today is the day

that Uncle Han is crowned King,

let’s go and celebrate him.

I have something to do, you just go yourself.

What’s up with you?

If you don’t go

and Wuguli has been grounded,

then I’ll be left alone.

Then you should go for us.

Go ahead.

Then I’m leaving.

It’s really weird.

Usually, Hunian doesn’t miss

these important occasions.

Liangge,

do you think what Hunian could have?

I don’t know that, either.

Everyone in the family

has been so strange lately.

Wuguli is strange

and Hunian is also strange.

To Taiping Palace.

(The King of Yan Palace)

(The King of Yan Palace) Congratulations!

(The King of Yan Palace) Mr. Wang, welcome to our house.

Come in, please.

Okay.

-Okay. -What a young talent!

Congratulations, Mr. Han.

Welcome to our humble home.

Come in, please. Come in, please.

-What a pillar of our country! -Yeah.

Come in, please.

Congratulations!

Congratulations, Mr. Han.

-Xiuge. -Derang.

Come on, my father’s in there.

Congratulations!

Come on in.

Xinning, take care of him.

Derang.

Why are you avoiding me?

You scared me to death.

You are always in trouble

when there are many people around.

Today,

you’d better behave a little bit.

Why are you saying this to me?

Stop it. Just get in.

I’ll be back in a minute.

Easy.

Dilie King is here, Your Highness.

I heard that you are not well, Yansage.

I’m so worried

then I come to see you.

You come here to have a good laugh at me, right?

I was beaten by big brother.

Have you had enough?

Just leave since you’ve had enough.

Yansage, what are you talking about?

We are brothers.

I come to see you in good faith.

This medicine is a tribute from the Bohai Sea.

I got this here especially for you.

Okay, I know you mean it.

I found your little servants around here

are too clumsy.

That’s why I brought you two very excellent slave girls

to serve you daily life.

Yansage, please see if you are satisfied.

Come in.

Your Highness.

Both of them are good at singing and dancing

and very smart.

They are slaves in my private area,

and they are virgin.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Miss Hunian is here, Your Highness.

What?

Gaoliu,

just go to welcome her.

-Get up. -Yansage.

What’s going on?

I knew you little bastard

has done nothing good since childhood.

You’ve come to ruin my business, haven’t you?

Get out of here! Get out of here!

Okay, okay, Yansage.

I’ll get out of here.

I’m getting out of here.

Get him out from the back door.

Bring all the things with him

and take both of these girls out. Come on.

-Dilie King. -I’m leaving.

Let’s go.

Go.

Move, go, go.

Put this place in order.

Yes, Your Highness.

Miss Hunian.

It’s very kind of you to come.

You know what?

Our king was punished by His Majesty

and he is not happy at all.

Our King and His Majesty

have been good brothers since childhood.

It was the first time that our King had been beaten.

Were his injuries serious?

Serious, very serious.

He refused to take his medicine

and recuperate well.

And we are just servants

and couldn’t soothe him.

Fortunately, you are here

and you could comfort our king.

Just wipe this place.

The two girls just sat here.

And there.

Wipe this place clean.

Just wipe places where two girls stood

and wipe it clean, too.

Wait.

You two just get out.

Keep applying ointment.

Okay.

Easy.

Easy.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Go away and leave me alone.

Here comes Miss Hunian.

Hunian.

Gaoliu.

Gaoliu.

Why didn’t you tell me earlier,

but let me be so disrespectful

in the presence of Hunian?

It’s all my fault.

I guess you were in too much pain

and my voice was too low.

That’s my fault, my fault.

Leave.

Hunian.

Sorry,

I’m a little rude.

It’s the best medicine in my house.

Try it on, please.

And if it works,

I’ll have it sent to you again.
