and when you're tired
you don't think as logically.

Again, I haven't witnessed
anything for myself.

I just think this place
is so easily debunked.

Yeah.

Our final few days in Chester had arrived and
the following morning after the George and

dragon investigation, we receive a call from hq
who inform US of a nearby village named rowton

which played host to one of the bloodiest
battles of the English civil war.

According to our research
team, sections of rowton moor

are believed to be amongst
the most haunted sites in the UK

and locals have even
witnessed ghostly apparitions

and the sound of battle
manifesting across the fields

as Emma, Charlie and rox review
the footage from the George & dragon

investigation, becki and I make the
short drive to the village of rowton.

So we are approaching the end
of our journey here in Chester.

Last nights investigation at
the George and dragon was

disappointing in terms of,
sort of paranormal activity.

But it's always very useful for US

investigators to debunk
a location such as that

and Charlie, rox and Emma are back
at the hotel going through the locked off

camera footage to see if we have actually
caught anything which I highly doubt.

I spoke to hq this morning, we are on route
now to rowton moor in the nearby village

of rowton which played host to one
of the bloodiest battles of the civil war.

September the 24th 1645,
hundreds and hundreds of

royalists lost their lives
on the battlefield here.

The parliamentarians
were laying siege to

Chester, they were camped
outside the city centre.

It's a really interesting case
now hq have sent US here

purposely to go and interview
some of the locals here who are

experiencing paranormal activity, sort
of when they're walking their dogs they're

seeing ghostly apparitions, the sound
of gun shots and possible Cannon fire.

It's a really interesting case this
one Beck what's your thoughts?

I'm really intrigued, it's erm... it's
outdoors, exterior location so it's quite

different to the majority the other
locations that we've been looking at so far.

Erm... and you know, if you think about
the history that went on there and the

potentially thousands of people who
could have lost their lives in that battle

you can certainly understand how
their could be paranormal activity there.

Yeah,

I mean if we thought the George & dragon was a
difficult investigation last night, this could prove

to be even more difficult, it kind of reminds me
of when we went to delamere forest, its a big open

space, very difficult
to try and pinpoint any

paranormal activity
that is going on there

but...

We'll go and interview the locals,
we'll report back to hq, discuss

it at the hotel and then possibly
come back and investigate tonight

but tonight

it will be just you and
me. Charlie, rox and Emma

are gonna head out into
the city centre and interview

all the locals they can
find, try and find out where

people consider to be the
most haunted location in Chester

and then tomorrow
night for our final

investigation we are
gonna head to the place that

the general public consider to be
the most haunted, it'll be a really

interesting one tomorrow night I
have no idea where we're gonna end up

and if we can get permission to
investigate it but for today and tonight

let's concentrate all our efforts
on this extremely interesting case.

Let's do this.

September the 23rd 1645, parliamentarian
forces had laid siege to Chester

king Charles's only remaining port.

In an attempt to relieve the defending
royalists in the city, Charles ordered

3000 cavalry to camp outside of the
city whilst he lead a force of 600 inside.

The intent was to
attack he parliamentarian

forces from both sides however,

Charles had made a vital
mistake and believed his forces had

moved into position undetected
by parliamentarian scouts.

In the early hours of September
the 24th the parliamentarians

launched a surprise
attack on the royalist cavalry

and although the royalists were able
to drive them back, parliamentarian

reinforcements forced the royalists to
retreat to the nearby village of rowton

believing that their own
reinforcements would be arriving.

Unfortunately for the royalists these
reinforcements were prevented from reaching the

village and the remaining cavalry would have
to face the full parliamentarian forces.

The battle was one of the bloodiest
of the civil war with the royalists

suffering huge losses with around 600
killed and 900 injured or taken prisoner.

After the defeat, Charles
who's still inside the city, fled

and Chester eventually surrendered
on the 3rd of February 1646.

Ok so we've just arrived in the village
of rowton,we are gonna walk around, find

the fields that the battle took place on
and try and speak to some locals and see

if they've witnessed any
paranormal activity here.

It's a really strange
little village isn't it?

Yeah it's more of a Hamlet really.

There's not much here at all really
but there are obviously fields all around

which we need to investigate and find
out which ones the battle took place on.

Alright let's go and find some locals.

There's a plaque here.

The English civil war,
battle of rowton moor.

24th of September 1645, it's incredible.

So up here are the fields where
the main battle took place and the, the

royalists fell back after being
attacked by the parliamentarian forces.

And the parliamentarians reinforced.

Chased them back to
this location here and it

can only be described
as, as a massacre really.

It's crazy to think that
what these roads would

have been during,
during the year of 1645.

The troops would have marched
across here and got into position.

And it would have just
been a massacre Beck.

Incredible.

The morning of September the 24th 1645 this very
field behind me played host to one of the bloodiest

battles of the civil war as hundreds of royalist
troops lost their lives on this very spot.

As becki and I continue to
explore the village we manage to

track down a number of locals
who do not wish to be filmed.

It quickly becomes clear
that we would need to

return that night and
investigate for ourselves.

Is this area truly one of the
most haunted locations in the

UK or can we debunk the
claims of paranormal activity here?

So we've just spoken to 6 locals

unfortunately none of
them want to be filmed.

Really interesting though
cos you know, 3 of them

said they'd never heard
of any hauntings at all.

Yeah.

2 of them said they'd heard the
rumours and 1 of them was saying that

they'd actually witnessed a... what
they would describe as a light anomaly

walking through one of the
fields when they were walking

their dog which is exactly
what hq told US erm...

Something very apparent
with this village though is

that there's not many
people walking around at all.

No, it's tiny. It's just a little
tiny Hamlet like out in the sticks.

Reminds me a bit of a ghost village.

Erm...

We'll head back to the hotel now.

See if the guys have caught anything
and then obviously explain to them

that they're gonna have to go out
tonight and interview loads of locals.

And then we'll come back
here tonight and something

I think that will be really
interesting tonight is to

conduct the esthes method again, it
was so popular at ye olde kings head.

Yeah.

So successful.

And actually...

You know we are solar out of the
city that there shouldn't really be much

conflict on the sb7 so if stuff comes
through it should be quite clear.

Yeah.

It will be also interesting to see if we get
any weird emf spikes in any of them fields

because there's no sources that would, that
would give off a high sort of emf field.

Yeah.

It could be quite creepy here tonight.

Especially if it is just
gonna be the 2 of US.

Because it is literally
out in the middle nowhere.

I know.

I am a little bit nervous that we've
been obviously talking to locals and

making it known to
locals that we're filming

about the supposed paranormal
activity out here and then we're

gonna come out here tonight
just the 2 of US, its quite...

Vulnerable.

With our research complete
we head back into the city and

inform the rest of the team
of our investigation ahead.

As becki and I prepare to head back to rowton.
Charlie, rox and Emma head out into the

city centre to interview locals on where they
believe to be Chester's most haunted location

and they would inform US of
their findings the following morning.

With our preparations
complete, becki and I set off,

our investigation of rowton
moor was about to begin

and although we were both
skeptical of the hauntings

there, it was certainly
a very interesting case.

Our approach for this
investigation would see US conduct

a number of different experiments
using various equipment

such as a Mel meter to
detect any unexplained

fluxations in the
electro magnetic field.

A full spectrum camera
which we had captured the

incredible picture on whilst
investigating Chester rows.

We would also attempt the esthes method
which proved to be so successful during

our investigation of ye olde kings head,
it was time to investigate rowton moor.

Ok some have just arrived on rowton moor.

It is pitch black out here,
Charlie, rox and Emma are

currently wandering around
Chester city centre trying to

find out where the most haunted location
in Chester is, they're interviewing locals

and Beck and I have been stuck with
the task of investigating rowton moor.

We've been here all today,

interviewed some locals and it seems as if

there are a lot of ghost
sightings here Beck?

Yeah.

Now obviously during the 1600's

fields like this played host to one of
the bloodiest battles of the civil war

when tons and tons of royalist soldiers
lost their lives on these very fields

and for the last couple of hundred years
there have been so many ghost sightings all

the way from the 1900's right through into
the 2000's. Ghost sightings, the sounds of

battles taking place, the
screams of dying men.

It's very eerie out here.

And our job now is to try
and find evidence that this is

one of the most haunted
battlefields in the UK.

Beck your thoughts?

Erm... I'm not gonna
lie it's pretty creepy out

here, especially when
it's just the 2 of US.

Erm... kind of wish the rest
of the team were with US.

Yeah.

It's

there's a very, very
low hum of traffic in the

far, far distance but
this is pretty isolated

where we are.

You know there is the odd
farm house dotted around

but we are pretty much

in the middle of nowhere in fields

where we know

that one of the bloodiest
battles of the civil war

took place and hundreds
if not thousands of people

lost their lives up here.

Yeah.

I tell you what, if it wasn't
for these camera lights.

It's pitch black out here

I'd have fallen in the mud by now

there's no street lights, there's
nothing, it's absolutely pitch black.

Ok, I am gonna shoot now

with an evp session.

I don't know how affective this will
be, we thought the George & dragon

was a difficult investigation last
night, tonight is gonna be even harder.

Are there men who lost their lives here?

Are there soldiers who
wander these fields?

I know that this location

was the scene of a great battle.

Are there any members of
the parliamentarian forces here?

Or the royalists?

Serving under king Charles?

That's even more creepy the
fact there's big trains going past.

Ghost train going past.

Now what we are going to do shortly is...

Take some pictures using
the full spectrum camera

which has proved to be
so successful so far Beck.

Yeah.

You know obviously capturing

that incredible apparition
on the rows in Chester.

I think its a great piece of
equipment for doing outside locations.

So we are gonna snap a few
pictures using that full spectrum

these fields and see if we
can capture anything and then

for the next few hours what we
need to do is move from field to field

you know the battle took
place all across these fields so

we just need to try and
gain any evidence if possible,

I am extremely skeptical
about this location.

I understand that locals
may consider this place to be

haunted, it's gonna take a lot
for me to believe that though.

Yeah,

we're outside as well, there's a lot of
wildlife noises going on around US which I

think could play on peoples imaginations and
thinking it's something more than wildlife

but you know, I can
hear frogs and birds and...

With them trains going
past as well you know...

If one hits something on the line or something
like that and it makes a loud noise could it

sound like a gun shot or a Cannon fire do you
know what I mean? Which would have been used in

the civil war.

As we battle the freezing
cold wind we continue to

conduct more evp sessions
which produce no results

and eventually make
our way across the moor.

What I think we'll do Beck is we'll head
up through the fields now and bring out the

Mel meter and see if we can get any
unexplained emf reading on the Mel meter yeah?

Yeah.

Ok so we have now
moved into erm... one of

the fields just up from
where we were earlier.

Erm...

On the way this Mel meter
seemed to be baseline reading

at about 0.5 to 0.7 which
is quite normal really Beck?

Yeah.

And what we've done here
in this field is arm a brand new

device from Andy Bailey from
infraready, fantastic technician.

It's over there in the
field, it's called the xpod.

Now what it does,

is it picks up on any movement
just like a motion sensor

would do but it can read huge
distances, it can also erm...

Read through walls and through ceilings
and stuff like that and obviously we've not

got any of them out here but it's great
device for monitoring any movement around it.

So that is placed over there.

The Mel meter as you can see here

is pretty stable at 0.5.

Now the further we move
on Beck do you think that...

It's just getting a little bit more eerie.

Yeah, cos we're just, I feel like
we're just you and I in the middle of

nowhere. We're literally stood in huge
big fields that lead on from each other.

There's not even any like any lights from houses
around US, there's a feint glow in the distance

that's something green, I've no idea what that
is, it could be a signal on the railway line.

Yeah I see it.

Because that's the
railway line that shoots

through the field
but other than that

there's just nothing like there's a few
fences and a few trees and some woods on

the edge of the field but other than
that it's just some great big open space.

And US in the dark with wet feet.

This is not how I imagined
my time in Chester right now.

Now another thing to note

is that

we are approaching one
of the main battlefields

which is just over
in the distance there.

Yeah.

Erm... once we get there,
that is when we're gonna

bring out the full spectrum
camera, take some pictures

and I think it would be
really useful considering the

success we had a few nights
ago at the old kings head

to do the esthes method what do you think?

Definitely worth while.

At this point we are both
feeling very silly as we move from

field to field, freezing cold
and up to our necks in mud.

Our belief in this investigation
is swiftly evaporating.

Just to explain to everybody at home
right now what we are dealing with.

That is severe bog.

retrieve the xpod as

well, back into the
swamp that is rowton moor.

readings on the Mel meter and conduct

more evp sessions. Absolutely
nothing out of the ordinary is occurring.

Eventually we enter the section of the
moor where the main battle took place.

Ok so we have now
headed into what was the

main battlefield of the
battle of rowton moor.

And I've gotta admit it is a
lot more creepy in here Beck.

Erm... it doesn't help that we
are surrounded by these trees.

Yeah, it's almost like erm...

Like a bit of a wood
running through the field.

It's dead creepy and there's all
kinds of sounds going on around US.

So as you can see we have
armed the full spectrum camera here.

I'm gonna take some shots.

And see if we can pick anything up.

God it's creepy in here.

I'm definitely more creeped out in
here than I was in the more open fields.

I don't know why all the trees and

everything are making
me feel really on edge.

I think very shortly, we'll
take a few more snaps

on this and keep snapping
throughout and then

maybe try the esthes method.

Obviously when we entered this field the
Mel meter again was reading no unexplained

readings erm...

Everything right now is pointing
towards a debunk investigation.

I just think it's creepy
because we are out

in the open in the
middle of nowhere but

I'm not experiencing anything,
seeing anything, feeling anything

that I would

class as paranormal.

It's just one of them I mean we
did it in season1 with delamere forest

a huge, huge area like this,
it's very, very difficult to sort of

pin point any activity.

I also just think that like

I'm more scared that
there might be some weirdo

human, real alive person out here.

Over the next 10 minutes we continue
to take pictures on the full spectrum

camera, we capture nothing and as we
prepare to conduct the esthes experiment

present on the moor to enter our space

This is completely bizarre as
I start to hear clear responses

through the white noise which
appear to be intelligent remember,

there is no way I can hear
or see anything and the

sb7 is so loud you can hear
it through my headphones.

Not only am I hearing
voices but echoing through the

white noise are loud bangs
almost like explosions.

Very soon things are
about to turn very creepy

and becki and I are in
for a terrifying moment.

There was just a really weird
noise to my right hand side.

almost like cannons firing on
here, I'm not joking, that is so weird.

I've heard it a couple of times now I
tried to debunk it in my head but that is

definite it's like, I thought it was
drums at first, it's not it's like boom!

There is the sound of

almost sounded a bit mechanical.

This was one of the most terrifying
moments we can remember as we made our way

through the trees suddenly I hear someone
or something walking though the wet mud

in the exact place becki had
heard a man laugh earlier..

This sends US into complete
panic as we are not sure at this

point if it is paranormal or
real people messing with US

and after reviewing this we
do not believe it is people.

My god it's so boggy.

Eventually we make
it back to the car and

begin to process what
we had just witnessed.

Had becki's invite to the
entities that may possibly haunt

rowton moor caused a huge
spike in paranormal activity?

And had this invite resulted
in US being surrounded by

multiple spirits that we could
hear through the sb7 spirit box

and via direct voice phenomena and finally,
were the noises we heard all around

US including the disembodied footsteps
a sign that we really had gained evidence

of multiple spirit entities in our space?

Can we hear your gunshots?

Boom.

somebody's foot squelch in the bog.

chasing you through fields.

Right we've done our investigation that's
