about a derelict barn which

is supposedly one of
the sites of malkin tower.

get on to HQ in the morning
and try and sort that out.

Ok guys we are approaching
our first location now this was

the cottage and it's said to
sit on the site of malkin tower.

This is 1 of the key
areas guys lets do this.

It's like weird frequency noises.

Right thats the 2nd time we've heard a
noise and then somethings come through.

But I'd really like to
hit this barn tomorrow

and get this journey
started properly.

The day had finally arrived for
our first full investigation into pendle

hill and with the Esthes method providing
strange results the previous night

our preparations began for a
very testing investigation ahead.

Our location, a barn that
sits on one of the possible

sites of malkin tower, the
home of old demdike herself.

and although this
barn dates back to the

1800's,200 years after
the pendle witch trials.

Archeologists believe it is possible
that malkin tower once lay on this site.

Malkin tower is key to our
investigation, this was demdikes

home and it is believed hat
strange things went on there.

Rituals, animal sacrifice and it is the
location of the good Friday meeting,

which is the biggest and best
known witches coven in english history.

It is even documented that
an infant was sacrificed there.

As Becki, Emma and I make our
way to Barley where we will head

to the abandoned barn for our
pre investigation walk around.

Charlie & Rox set off to
retrieve the game cameras

that Charlie had set
up on the very first day

before heading back
to the hotel to review the

footage, unfortunetley
nothing was captured.

but the forest of pendle
would play a huge

part in our investigation
later in the week.

Ok guys here we are,
I'm not gonna lie it does

feel like there is some
kind of weird atmosphere

in this place, I don't know whether
its just because of where we are or...

it's just a very, very weird
building now this place dates

back to the 1800's so it post
dates the actual pendle witches.

but it's believed that this was one
of the possible sites of malkin tower.

And the fact that
modern day occultists and

witches still come here
and perform stuff here is

is very freaky, you know we've
all heard the stories of pendle

about the spirits here tend to
follow you around, they can move

they're not just tied to 1 location so
it is very possible that a barn like this,

could play host to some
type of paranormal activity but

we are here to obviously
put truth to those rumours.

Research have done sort of an
extensive investigation into this

place and the stories that they
have told us are very strange.

It is believed that there is
poltergeist activity taking place

here and sort of the overwhelming
sense of not being alone.

What creeps me out is if
you've got modern day occultists

satanists, people dabbling in
one what they think is witchcraft.

You know, could they have
conjured something here?

What are the actual reports
of paranormal activity?

Just again, all research
said to me was that there

were reports of poltergeist
activity happening here

and the overwhelming sense, people
are getting affected in this location.

As in things are being
thrown, poltergeist activity?

Yeah things are moving inside.

Now this place is
completely run down, you can

see why it is so accessible
for people to get to.

Theres nothing stopping
anybody from coming here and

messing around with stuff
they shouldn't mess around with.

tell people have been
here so that already,

would make the rumours sound

The one thing with the whole pendle story
that gets me is the stories of temptation

the stories of animals
appearing and speaking,

you know as the devil
or possible demons

posing as different types of animals and
it really does hit home being here now.

That we are in a really, really
strange and atmospheric place.

And we feel like that now in daylight and
all I can keep thinking is when we come and

investigate here it's going to be pitch black
because we're literally in the middle nowhere.

happened inside a building

the building almost comes
alive and reacts to us.

Whats creeping me out is
right above my head there are

holes up to the upstairs and I
can see through to a doorway.

We're gonna have to take a real tactical
approach here tonight, we're gonna

have to use all types of different
equipment but for the first time ever,

I'm considering putting protection
on the group for the first time ever.

Well I mean we've dealt with some
pretty freaky stuff but I think it's the

fact that we don't know, this is the
unknown we don't know who's been here

we don't know what they've been
doing we don't know what they've

done, we don't know what
they've brought through if anything.

Pendle hill attracts these types of

people, you heard what
Simon said yesterday

it really does attract
these people he said

at halloween it's like
Wembley stadium.

we'll get some shots of the building

and then lets head back to the

With our pre investigation walk
around over, we make our way

out of the barn. The atmosphere
surrounding this location

had made us realise
exactly what we were about to

take on. The thudding noise
we had jut heard upstairs

could have easily been wildlife
but there was no mistaking

the eerie feeling that this
decaying building was generating

and with the hill looming in the
background we knew that coming

back here for our investigation
would certainly test our bravery.

Moments before heading back
to the car I receive a call from HQ

who are convinced they have
found the exact site of malkin tower.

Alright that was HQ
apparently they have found

what they believe to be
the site of malkin tower.

Now I know this was supposedly 1 of
the sites and then the other 1 in Blacko.

But apparently
they're convinced it's at

this place called Saddlers
farm in newchurch.

I think I've heard of that.

Yeah and a couple there
have given us permission

to investigate, they
moved in in January

and they've been
experiencing paranormal activity.

Thats interesting.

Yeah and they wanna
know the history as well so...

It's worth a shout isn't it?

Definitely we've gotta go there.

Ok guys this is where the journey
really begins tonight we are about to

head out to the barn thankfully HQ
got us permission to investigate it.

It is on someones
land but it is right in the

middle nowhere now
this is supposedly a site

that malkin tower once stood which is
obviously what the locals told you Rox.

me with this place is

the modern day occultists
that are going there.

performing rituals in

there, people performing
silly stuff as well

going there I'm talking on a weekly basis.

on in that place I think it makes
sense, particularly the black candles.

that we would almost try and
reenact some of the things that

are going on there and see
if it does trigger something.

It's dangerous, it's risky and I
think you're right that we do maybe

look at doing some type of protection
ritual that isn't our normal thing

So tonight we get to investigate the
barn now following interviews with locals,

and what our research team have come back
without should be an interesting night.

Erm... I mean the stories of
what happen still to this day

in that barn of people conducting
all sorts of demonic stuff

you just don't know whats gonna happen, I
mean tonight we're gonna use methods that

are probably old school and not stuff that
we usually do, things like seances and

the black candles and I
know when we've used

black candles previously
they've never failed us.

So you'd think in a location
like this with such a history and

still to this day the modern
stuff that still happens there

should be interesting, I'm hoping
that we have a really good night.

I'm a bit nervous if I'm
honest, it's a bit erm...

a location that we've only kind of had
dropped upon us and theres an awful lot of

dark rumours about
what its being used for.

And consequently I'm a little bit
nervous about what we may meet erm both

potentially spiritually
as well as human people.

Erm... if we are gonna
run into these satanists,

these occultists, these
modern day witches

there then I'm not looking forward to that
being a potential thing we might face.

Dan has mentioned about
doing protection and I think that

might be a good idea it's
not something we usually do.

But in this circumstance
because we don't know what're

facing and we could end up
meeting something quite dark.

I think for all our sakes
it might be a good idea.

As the sun sets on our third day
in pendle, we set out for our first full

investigation. We are about to take
on one of pendle hill's famous barns.

These run down old barns
that are dotted all-around

pendle are believed to be
beacons for paranormal activity.

Does this historic building truly lie on
the site once occupied by the famous

malkin tower or is it simply a location
used for modern day witchcraft and satanism?

We were about to find out.

Ok guys, we are about to
hit our first proper location,

this is the barn that we've
been told so much about

and incredibly freaky
place, this is our first proper

investigation guys so lets
hit this head on ok lets do this.

Our approach for this
investigation would see

us conduct 2 different
investigation styles,

We would begin with an
old school protection ritual

and group seance to see
what affect this would have

and whether any spiritual presence
in the area would be attracted to this.

Charlie armed 2 game cameras which
would activate if anything crossed their

motion sensors. He placed 1 outside the
location and the other on the upper floor

where earlier that day Becki,
Emma and I heard a thudding noise.

Should these opening sessions
produce no activity then we would use

a range of equipment in an attempt
to document any possible entities.

With our cameras set up,
we began the investigation.

Ok we have just entered the
old barn, the old farm house

that has stood on this site
since the 1800's I believe .

This is one of the possible sites of
malkin tower, how true thats I don't know.

There are 4 possible sites, this is
1 of them, this is obviously an area

you guys have heard this first hand,

lots of stories about here.

lots and lots of stories it is said to
have modern day occultists and modern

day witches come here and perform
rituals and I know coming here today was

really weird wasn't it Beck?

Yeah it's a really
weird vibe in this place.

We did hear banging upstairs today erm...

Right ok.

I dunno what it was, it could
have easily been a bird but it just

seemed to come alive as soon as
we entered the atmosphere here.

We are right at the foot of
the hill itself, the idea is that we

try and attract whatever is here
into this, we are gonna conduct

something that we hardly ever
do here at the haunted hunts which

is a seance using a black
candle which I'm gonna light now.

paranormaly active
locations in the UK with

very powerful entities to say
the least, I thought this would

be the ideal situation to do
this for the week ahead as well.

and see if we can remain
protected, especially in a

location like this where
dark deeds have been done.

People are still coming
here and doing them

as well so it's best
to do it just incase.

feet until we are glowing as one.

not infiltrate this light, we are protected

we have ever taken on with the haunted hunts.

hear whispering coming from above,

we very faintly capture this
on our locked off cameras audio

that detects something
again, this is a mind

blowing capture that we
have no explanation for.

For the next 30 minutes nothing further
occurs so we decide to split into 2 teams.

With Emma, Becki & Rox
remaining inside the barn

where they would conduct
a ouija board session.

Charlie and I headed outside with a
full spectrum camera and SLS camera

in an attempt to capture visual
evidence of anything around the location.

We must state very clearly that
none of the haunted hunts team are

true believers in ouija boards
as they can easily be manipulated

but as we are at
pendle hill we felt it only

right that we conduct
one as an experiment.

a bird of prey circling outside.

It's certainly an animal
of some kind definitely.

headed outside of the barn.

the girls are inside doing a ouija board
session and we are gonna take some

full spectrum pictures
right now of this barn

here to see if we can
capture anything at all.

I've gotta say that
coming outside the barn

is even freakier than
being inside because

It is yeah.

We are right at the
foot of the hill which is

over there, you can see
a very distant farmhouse.

Very, very distant but
you can just make out the

outline of the hill sort of
just in this section here.

and it is just wild out here
and you can hear sheep.

But it's very eerie, it's very dark.

and it almost feels like

anything could happen at any minute.

Think obviously we just
need to be careful while we

are out here like i said,
people use this to this day

so we just need to have our
whits about us as well I think.

If there is a nobody here that
can hear us, that can see us.

dwelling on this site, many people believe
there was a dwelling on this site and that

you never know, could have
been malkin tower, could have been.

There were many meeting
places like this building back

then though that many locals
in the area would have met

you now, it's very
possible that whatever lay

on this site, the accused
could have met here

plotted things here...

You've gotta think as well these building
are out the way in the middle of nowhere

do you know what I mean? These
would have been ideal places as well for

them to meet in secret do you know
what I mean? Without anybody knowing

these would have been the ideal
buildings where a family member would

have lived and they could come and
plot whatever they needed to do and...

And you know, we
say it as well but these

could have been completely
innocent meetings.

They could have been and
you know they could have been

wrongly accused and it
could be all innocent but then

you've also gotta look at it that

would there really be a trial
that big with that many involved

There would have had to be

some malicious thought if
they were wrongly accused

Something would have had to
go on for it to go as far as that.

So... I don't know but all we
can do is investigate and try

and get answered, that's
what we're here for isn't it so...

This week is gonna be a
hell of a journey to try and

find out but not only about
the pendle witches but about

any other possible entities that
roam this area you know it's not just

the spirits of the pendle witches
that are believed to haunt here.

We're going into this due
to the pendle witches but

as you said any entity, we
could pick up on anything

Modern entities.

the truth of the witches

that we get would be

great in any location
that we go to this week.

Ok so we have armed the
SLS camera and we are gonna

make our way around to
the back of the building now

and see if we can map anything
in, at this point I will be calling

out and seeing if I can attract
anything to come towards us.

It's so dark.

As Charlie and I continue
to explore outside of the

barn, we map absolutely
nothing on the SLS camera

and the girls witness
nothing inside the barn.

After 45 minutes we are starting to
doubt that we will witness anything

and so we decide to conduct
another session inside but this time

we would be using a number of
devices to aid our investigation.

Ok so at this current point in time

I'm starting to think that this
is not an active location at all.

No.

Charlie and I have just been
outside, it does feel really

eerie outside but it's because
we're in a big open space.

Yeah we're in the middle
of nowhere aren't we?

Obviously we do have to
check the full spectrum pictures

we've done, I captured
nothing at all on the SLS camera.

You guys have just said off camera that
you've had nothing upon the ouija board?

Nothing at all.

No surprise there.

So I've brought out more equipment
now, I'm armed with the ovilus 5.

Gonna put it in instrumental trans
communication mode, shouldn't

really interfere with anything
in a rural location like this.

We have got 2 locked off cameras filming,
we've gotta temperature pod on the stairs.

Let's just see if anything happens I
wanna try and drum this a little bit more

now, get a little bit more, not provocative
as such but give it a bit of umph.

Yeah, like if we're not getting anything
and we begin to feel like this isn't

a haunted place, then we'll know by
doing this, if we get no response to this

It could just rumours,
people are egging it up.

It could just be people hoping as well because
it's famous for the gathering of the witches,

people are just hoping that anywhere in the
middle of nowhere could be a place that might be

where they resided so...

But equally by stirring it up a bit more
because we know that there is talk that things

will come down off the hill or follow you
round it might attract it to the place.

just tried to summon them

outside but let's see what
we can get here now ok?

has set off it's motion

sensor, we have no idea
why this suddenly happens

but are these footsteps being
picked up on the cameras audio?

I've just had 2 words
through the ovilus, cast it.

Are people casting stuff here?

Watch closely as seconds after
the words cast it come through the

ovilus, a strange light anomaly
that we don't believe is dust or a bug

shoots towards the ovilus device.

triggered our game camera.

And then possibly manifested
into a light anomaly at the same time

the words cast it, manifest and
music all come through the ovilus.

And finally, as the word listen comes through,
we decide to arm the IntraVox device which

we believe would give any entities the
platform needed to communicate with us directly

using their voice and we are about
to capture clear evidence of this.

we used it at Codnor
Farmhouse and it was

absolutely incredible
what was coming though,

this is by far my favourite
piece of equipment.

we reflect on what had just happened.

I don't know if I'd use the word
debunk but I am still ready to say

I am not convinced that this
particular building has any...

Has actually got anything attached to it.

Has anything in it but...

We've just had undeniable evidence
that there is something in this area.

and I am definitely leaning
towards what people are

saying and this idea that
these spirits roam the land.

I personally think that you could
stand in the middle of a field and

turn that on and whatever is here
would be drawn to where you are.

the energy itself where its all moving.

Whole area.

Part of the UK, it is an
incredibly mysterious area that the

hauntings here are very rare and
when I came here backing January

I said that, that the hauntings
here are rare and they move around.

i think you've gotta see it for yourself though
this is the thing, when you're told things,

for us to come now and see what people mean,
it's backing everything up it's not just stories.

It's like when you listen to the
other paranormal groups who I must

admit, I was always really skeptical
of them where they were saying

we were on pendle hill and we had this
happen and that happen and I was like

why would you have this happen on pendle
hill? Like theres no dwellings there

Theres north witches didn't die there
like but now I get it, it's not about the

location, the exact location, its about
drumming up the energies in the area.

And it attracts them in.

It's like a couple of nights
ago when we all looked

at the map and said these
are the key points here

and it is, its all the areas
surrounding the hill itself

It's like hotspot of it.

It's the epicentre.

Guys lets give it another hour
here and then we head back

to the hotel and then we move
on to somewhere else tomorrow.

We need to listen to that
back, that is gonna be amazing.

figure out what that says.

Our investigation at Barley
hill on one of the possible

sites of malkin tower
was extremely interesting.

and with our first taste
of true paranormal activity

at pendle hill, our journey
was well underway.

What other locations would HQ
have in store for us over the next few

days? As we made our way back to
the hotel we were competley unaware

that the remainder of the week
would test more than ever before

and we would experience the full
force of pendle and its hauntings.

Erm... we've just got back, I
have no idea what time it is.

The birds are coming out thats allI
know and it's getting light outside.

Erm... we've just got back from the barn.

Erm... and it's been a really
interesting night and I don't

mind saying that I've been
proved a little bit wrong because

for the beginning part of that
investigation we got sweet FA.

and I genuinely though that it was
massively overhyped location that erm...

It was just an abandoned building
but because it was at pendle

the people that like to
go to abandoned buildings

and do rituals and
mess with stuff like that

had wanted it so badly to be haunted
that they had you know made **** up.

and I am massively
skeptical of a lot of people.

and we got nothing much
happening at the beginning

and it was backing up
what i was thinking and

you know, we tried the ouija
board which I also don't really believe

in and nothing came through so
that backed up my theory on them.

Erm... and I think we
were about ready to give up.

And then Dan suggested that
we just go at it again and just be

a bit more forceful, a bit more
provocative, oooh provocative.

Erm...

and if that then didn't
work we could categorically

say that no it isn't
haunted and it's erm...

just overhyped and

people reading into stuff.

but we were wrong.

Or were we I don't
know? I still don't believe

necessarily that what we did
communicate with was the barn

erm... or belonging to the barn.

I'm beginning to think that
the stories about the spirits

in pendle might actually
be true in this idea that they

can be summoned, that they
can move, that they can follow.

Erm... cos that's what I
think we dealt with tonight.

It was one of those investigations
where you have to remain so patient.

And I think we were pretty
close to calling it a day.

and then all of a sudden...

we were getting hits
on the temperature pod,

the ovilus was coming
out with some crazy stuff.

and then as soon as
we put the IntraVox on we

were getting those
words and I can't wait to

find out what was said, I known
Charlie's just going through it now.

I dunno, I don't know what
to think at this point really its...

It's definitely opening my eyes to
that possibility of things following

you to different locations
and moving around the area.

I do remember seeing a black mass tonight
out the window just down the field.

Ok so... we have just got
back from doing the barn.

Erm...

Apart from the fact that it was absolutely
freezing and I've got so many layers on.

It was erm... a strange one really.

When we first got there it
felt quite peaceful, quite quiet.

And we was almost
starting to question whether

It was all just stories and rumours
and maybe people feared the barn.

Purely because it's derelict
and it's in the middle of nowhere

and it's a bit spooky cos
there's no people around and...

cos it's so quiet outside theres
quite a lot of animal noises.

And then when we started getting
stuff through we were a bit like.

Hang on a minute, thats a bit strange.

So when we put the
IntraVox on and we caught the

ladies voice, everything
started to make sense.

You know the rumours that people
say about there's not spirits in a certain

place, that spirits follow you and
they make their way around pendle.

I understand what they mean
now and it makes sense, I'm looking

forward to the rest of the week
to see if we can prove that further.

What happened was we
were hearing like, I would

say it was like man
muttering really wasn't it?

A grunts noise yeah.

so then we started calling out and we
got as Roxanne said manifest and listen

so we asked whatever was there if
we put on a device that plays white noise

the IntraVox would
they be able to talk to us.

And then it just come through listen.

Yeah and then we've got what we
captured then obviously we need to review

I personally think it says curse.

But we need to review
the footage first, back

In my opinion thats what it said.

I think this is a good,
even though it wasn't

much and it could
be residual but then...

you say residual but whatever's
there intelligent to ask us to listen

So I think for the start of the week
it's good and it gives us hope for

the rest of the week basically.

Hopefully things go up
and we get a lot more but

you're gonna get really so

But like it's half 4 in the
morning and I think we need to get

some sleep because we've gotta
be back up early in the morning
