The Legend of Xiao Chuo

Episode 10

Prime Minister Siwen married his two daughters

to the two people who are most likely

of getting the throne

among the three branches of Emperor Taizu.

Nonsense!

My father is not like that.

If he could really choose,

I don't think he would

marry his own daughters

to those two kings.

Exactly.

It's because

he was forced by that King Taiping.

We felt into Xiyin's plot.

My father had no other choices but to do so.

These gossips know nothing but to wag their tongues.

The wise will not listen to rumors.

These people are not a part of your life.

You don't have to care

about what they said.

You are quite reasonable.

You seem to be quite different

with those two.

You're a better fit for the throne than they are.

Would you care to tell me

why I'm a better fit?

I don't really know to be honest.

But I remember

what father taught me

when I was a kid.

The way of the Great Learning involves manifesting virtue,

loving the people, and abiding by the highest good.

It's the way of saints.

So what kind of emperor

do we want to have?

I think he should be

honest and virtuous,

nice to his people, aim to be good.

The more he's like this,

the better he will be loved by the people.

That's why

I think you're better fit

than those two for that seat.

Actually, ever since I was a kid,

I've been hearing all these talks.

Some said, you are the son of the late Emperor.

You're supposed to have that throne.

But then others were like,

he has not accomplished a thing.

How can he be a proper candidate?

This is the first time

for someone to say

that I can have the throne

just because who I am as a person.

So do you want that throne?

Do you want me

to be in that throne?

It's not like if I want you to,

then you can get it.

It's no joke to run a country.

Girls from Empress's family

are all well-educated and well-behaved.

But I think

you're smarter than all of them.

And more visionary.

Are you flattering me?

I'm not flattering anybody.

I'm just telling the truth.

If you're telling the truth,

then you're the first one

to call me smart

from the days I can remember.

All the other people,

they think I'm dumb.

They think I'm a troublemaker.

Actually,

to be honest,

I envy you.

At least you can be a trouble-maker.

The people around me

treat me like a glass.

Like I might break into pieces any minute.

I have to take medicine every single day.

Whenever I stay out for just a bit longer,

they'll come looking for me.

They would be like,

sit down and don't move!

I'll have to go home.

It's the same with me.

Really?

They always try to

keep me disciplined.

Except for my second sister.

she doesn't really try to control me.

I'm closest to her.

But

why she can't see.

that some approach her for a reason?

You want everything back to the beginning.

Like nothing

has ever happened, right?

Childe Coughing,

you coughing again?

Your Excellency, it's getting windy.

It's time to take the medicine.

OK.

You see?

That's my control.

So from now on

we are friends.

Sure.

But you should know,

I'm in a suspicious position.

I don't really have many friends.

So maybe our friendship

should stay as a secret.

Tell no one.

Tell no one.

Your Excellency.

Your Excellency said

you would just look at her and leave.

That's what I thought.

This consumed too much time

and energy of you.

You might have to stay in bed for a few days.

I thought

this would be the last time.

So I wanted to stay a little longer.

And now you changed your mind?

Maybe.

Your Excellency,

are you going to ask Miss Yanyan to marry you?

Even if I do,

this will not be the time.

Your Excellency.

Make it faster.

I don't want to keep His Excellency waiting.

We have to go see His Majesty today.

Yes, ma'am.

Don't know

if I can see Wuguli.

Who else will be there?

And

King Dilie and his family maybe.

Your Majesty.

We're now a family.

You don't have to do all these.

Come on up.

Way to go.

-Brother, stop it. -Come.

Princess Taiping!

Brother, seriously?

Brother!

Right, right.

You go hold her hand.

Come on.

Bring on the dance.

Get the party started!

Third brother, you arrived early.

Let me introduce.

My third brother Dilie.

My sister-in-law Yilan.

And their son Wage.

Childe Dilie.

Madame Yilan.

Nice to meet you.

Good boy,

I heard you like horses and archery.

I found you a great horse

as a gift.

All right.

Hunian, come here.

Come, come sit down and talk.

It's okay, I'm here with you.

Why did you stand up?

This toast is for Princess Taiping.

Well,

I wish you a happy marriage.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

I will take good care of King Taiping.

Take care of him?

He ain't got nothing to be taken care of.

He's strong as a bull.

But

there is one thing

you have to hurry up.

You have to have a son.

Our branch

has not yet

had a heir.

The sooner

you have a boy,

the sooner I can be relieved

from the menaces.

My brother,

this is way too soon.

We just got married yesterday.

So what?

I should have said it yesterday.

More kids, as soon as possible.

Give me a bunch of boys.

Like cattle and sheep on the grassland.

Second brother.

You don't have to be that stressed.

We have our Wage, right?

He is 12 now.

He'll be able to help in no time.

Dilie.

I heard

Wage

can now draw a 130-pound bow.

Yeah.

I'm not that sophisticated,

but I heard horsemanship and archery

take some real experiences.

He won't be getting anywhere

if he just stays in Shangjing all day.

You know what?

Nanjing is in need

of a Royal member.

Why don't you take your son there,

get a taste

of the real touch at battlefield.

Brother, Wage is too young.

Let me go to Nanjing instead.

Let him...

Didn't you say he can help in no time?

It's okay.

Are you lying to me?

I dare not.

It's settled then.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, Xiyin is here to see you.

They can wait.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Come, come on.

Princess and King Taiping.

Don't let them

disturb us.

My brother.

Cheers.

So,

feeling better now?

Thank you, brother Derang.

You better get up.

It's not a pretty scene

for a lady.

to be on a man.

You OK?

I don't think it matters.

It's not like

we have anything to hide.

Don't mess around.

Sure. I'll only mess around with you.

Yanyan?

What are you doing here?

It's a lovely day.

Let's go for a ride.

Don't touch me!

Let's go.

You son of a bitch.

Slave boy.

Don't get around

with our girls.

What are you talking about?

The Han family has just been made king.

You should salute him when you see him.

You better watch out you mouth.

I...

Childe Molugu.

I can see you're not in a great mood.

Now, if you excuse us.

Yanyan, let's go.

Stop.

Your family just love kissing asses, don't you?

You started with that tiny bit of med skills,

got your position from Empress Dowager Shulü.

Now His Majesty even made you king

for you fixed his problem.

Little snobs like you,

want to marry the girls from our Empress's family?

In your dreams!

Exactly!

What? Don't like what I said?

If you don't know

how to behave properly,

I don't mind reminding you

the definition of a family slave.

Don't get over your head.

You simply don't deserve her.

It's not your call.

Childe Molugu.

I treated you with courtesy.

But that doesn't mean I'm afraid of you.

Don't push me too hard.

Get him!

Why are you just standing there?

Go get him!

Get him!

Stop!

Stop it!

Brother Derang!

Stop! Let go of him!

Stop it!

Yanyan!

Let go.

-Enough!-What are you doing?

That's enough!

Yanyan, are you ok?

Uncle,

what are you doing?

Whose side you're on?

You clearly outnumber him.

And you even hit a girl.

You are a disgrace

to our clan.

He started it first!

I don't care!

Stop!

Yanyan, you OK?

Molugu,

what are you doing?

Xiuge.

Mind your own business.

Well, this is

my business now.

You...!

Let's go!

Come on.

Imperial Hall

Xiyin and Wuguli

have been waiting outside for a long time.

Why don't you ask His Majesty

to let them in.

OK, I'll do it.

Brother.

Xiyin and his wife

have been waiting outside for some time now.

I think they've learned their lesson.

Why don't we let them in now?

This is a family lunch

for you.

We are here today

to celebrate and have fun.

You want him to ruin this?

He is the son of a traitor.

He got lucky

for just staying alive.

If it wasn't

for him to have married princess's sister.

He would be still in custody.

You're right.

Let them stay there.

It's not gonna kill him.

Come on, let's drink.

Wuguli.

I'm sorry.

Your sister married Yansage.

Now she got to sit there and enjoy the feast.

You married me.

And you have to stand here at the gate.

Xiyin.

It's okay.

I know

this is just the beginning.

You and I are a whole now.

I will always be with you.

Some day,

we'll

make them pay for this.

Edict from His Majesty.

His Majesty said,

King Xiyin and his princess

can now leave.

Thank His Majesty for his grace.

Let's go, Wuguli.

Let's go home.

Be careful.

That bastard Molugu.

Next time I see him,

I'm going to knock his teeth out.

It's okay.

Yanyan.

I'm more concerned about you.

I couldn't even

protect a girl.

I felt

very sorry.

You know what?

It's getting late.

You should go home now.

Otherwise

Prime Minister Siwen

would worry about you.

I'm not leaving.

You got injured because of me.

I have to take my responsibility.

Don't try to throw me out.

These noble boys,

they do nothing

but pick on others.

I shouldn't have

gone that easy on them.

Molucu hated me when we were kids.

What happened today,

it would happen sooner or later anyway.

It's just that,

you're a girl,

I felt so sorry

that I couldn't protect you.

Yanyan, go home.

You stay here any longer,

others will really begin to talk.

Brother Derang,

what do you think we are?

Those gossips

are not going to ruin our relationship.

I meant the best for you.

I know.

You don't want them to think

you try to climb into my family.

That's why you wanted me to leave,

right?

But If I really leave,

will you regret it?

Won't you be down?

I...

Look at you.

Look how silly you are.

How can I leave you like that?

I won't let go.

Unless you promise me,

you will never leave me

because our different status.

OK.

I promise.

I won't force you to leave

for our different backgrounds.

I won't leave you either.

That's about right.

Then...

I have another question for you.

When will you

go to my family to propose me?

Yanyan...

I really don't want to get you

and Prime Minister Siwen involved.

Look at you.

You just said you won't leave me.

Now you talk like that.

We went after the confidential letter.

We broke into the palace.

We fought against Xiao Gu.

We even cursed on His Majesty.

Now you say you don't want to get me involved?

It's too late.

Since it is so,

then why don't we face it together?

Look at that silver tongue of yours.

You got it all.

Am I right or what?

Right, you're always right.

If you ask me,

the more people talk,

the more you should be with me.

Just show it to the whole world.

Let them know

what a lovely couple we are.

Piss them off.

Today

I got you hurt.

But don't worry.

You're now my responsibility.

I'll come take care of you every day.

You know how to take care of people?

Not getting people in trouble,

is the best you can do for others.

Didn't you say

I am nothing but good?

Come here.

What?

That's what happened.

Is that right?

Well,

probably,

about right.

Punk ass.

On your knees!

But I...

You are the descendant of Emperor Suzu.

To fight a slave,

you have to outnumber him?

I...

You are way beneath your class.

Xiuge was right.

Childe Xiuge.

Ever since Emperor Taizu founded this country,

we did

use some of the South people.

But after all, the South and us are different.

You need to remember that.

Today, even though Molugu

might not be completely right,

you shouldn't protect that South guy either.

Lord Hugu.

It's been three generations

since the Han family joined us.

Their merits

are recognized by His Majesty.

Maybe we should

stop focusing only on the ancestries.

Please forgive me for trying to be right.

Molugu

started this whole thing first...

Didn't that Han Derang strike back?

Lord Hugu...

Enough.

I can tell the right from wrong.

Xiuge, you may leave now.

Lord Hugu.

Now, if you excuse me.

Nosy ass.

Father.

This Xiuge

is the same like Dalin.

They are all tight with that southerner.

I have to

teach them a real lesson someday.

Don't you dare to do that!

Xiuge might be young,

but he's high in seniority.

He's the direct line of Zhongfu branch.

With his talents,

and the way he is with people,

he will have a great future.

Don't make him your enemy.

Besides,

we're with the same family name Yelü.

We should work together

to make our country great.

We can't fight with our own people.

By the way, where's Xieyou?

Is he OK?

Uncle's fine.

I had someone to escort him home.

That's good.

Father.

I don't want to

hang out with uncle anymore.

He is just outrageous.

He's too spontaneous.

Today,

if it wasn't for him,

I could have beaten the hell of...

Shut it!

Xiezhen

is the grandson of Premier Heru.

Though there are fewer people in his branch,

they are

of better background.

It'll be good for you

to be tight with him.

If I hear

these nonsenses again from you,

Imma break your leg!

Your Excellency, there're people following us.

Looks like

Yansage still has doubts about me.

Well,

let's pay a visit to Miss Yanyan.

Hope she's in the mansion right now.

Wait.

You can come out.

Wait, Xinning,

don't forget to change Derang's dressing.

Sure.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Back tomorrow?

What's that supposed to mean?

You don't want me to come?

No, no,

I mean tomorrow...

I can't wait to see you tomorrow.

I hear it.

I'll be back tomorrow.

Your Excellency.

I heard

Miss Yanyan was out early in the morning,

she didn't come back yet.

Never mind.

Don't know when she will be back.

I don't think we should keep waiting.

Let's go.

I guess it has to be

a futile trip to Mr. Gao Xun.

Your Excellency, look!

It's Miss Yanyan.

It's you.

Just got back?

Yeah.

Are you here for me?

Well,

there's a nice bistro over there.

You want to go there?

Sure. Let's go.

After you.

Let's go.

The Princess's sister?

How did he get to Princess's sister?

This way please.

Waiter.

Upstairs, please.

Lord Yixin, look!

Gao Xun?

Is that a coincidence or planed?

Go report this to His Excellency. Go.

Yes, sir.

What happened to your face?

Had a fight with someone. It's nothing.

You had a fight?

What? I can't do that?

Of course, you can.

I wish I can get into a fight.

But I'm afraid I won't win.

I have some meds here.

I'll get them for you.

You're not in good health.

You should stay.

Let him do it.

Sure, you go then.

Yes, Your Excellency.

A girl's face

should be better protected.

You can't leave a scar on it.

You said the same thing.

Who else said that?

Brother Derang.

I didn't expect

you would get hurt

with brother Han.

That's because that Molugu

outnumbered us.

Brother Derang was trying to protect me.

That's why we got hurt.

Molugu?

He's the son of Lord Hugu.

You know him?

No.

It's a good thing you don't know him.

These noble kids,

all they do is messing around

and bullying others.

We have

too many these people in our country.

That's why it's uneasy out there.

The Han's were made King

by His Majesty.

They hold it

against brother Derang.

What Molugu did

was outrageous.

Brother Han is a rare talent.

He

should not bear such insult.

You said brother Derang is a talent?

I've known him for years.

I know what he's capable of.

In five years,

he will gain his place

in our court.

Of course.

You have a good taste for men.

It's a pity I can't help him much.

Let him be insulted

by them like that.

I won't just sit and watch

him got bullied.

I'll

get back to them!

Brother Han is a man.

You think he needs your protection?

Of course.

It doesn't matter whether you're a man or woman.

Sometimes

one just needs to be protected.

Your Excellency. Miss Yanyan,

look.

Man.

Molugu

hands himself right to my hand.

You want me

to take the vengeance?

I don't think you should get into a fight.

You don't necessarily have to fight

when you try to get the bad guys.

I've got some urgent matters to deal with.

You go home first.

Wait for me for dinner.

OK, be careful on your way then.

Your Excellency, Yixin asked me to let you know

we got something at King Mingyi.

Hulishi.

How come a beautiful and smart girl

like Xiao Yanyan,

would fall

for that Han Derang?

Then why did you

fall for Xiao Yanyan?

I mean, let's put her family aside,

she's a beauty.

Put her family aside?

I think

you're all for her family.

I'll let her know sooner or later,

only a really

strong Khitan man like me,

can be her match.

Those slaves

are not even qualified

to touch her by her fingertips.

Well said. Come on.

Brother Derang?

Xiao Yanyan?

Talk about the devil.

Let's go.

Brother Derang?

Miss Yanyan.

Molugu.

Why are you here?

Is that low-rank slave

in there?

He asked

a woman to protect him?

Ridiculous.

Let's teach him a lesson.

Miss Yanyan, please get out of the way.

This is

between us men.

You can't come in.

Miss Yanyan, please move.

You filthy low-rank slave.

Come out!

You are not supposed to...

This...

Emissary Gao Shu, I...

Molugu, who do you think you are?

No, no.

How dare you to insult me?

Who gave you such courage?

No, no, no, Emissary Gao Shu.

It's just a misunderstanding.

It's a misunderstanding.

You hurt my men,

you call this a misunderstanding?

Come get him.

No.

Everything goes as your planned.

This is a misunderstanding!

Emissary Gao Shu.

Sub by WeTV & Ripped by skysoultan ♔ Follow @skysoultan on Instagram ♔

Come here!

Out, get out of the way.

Get out of the way.

Back off.

Stop!

King Taiping.

What happened?

What happened?

I would like to ask King Taiping

the same question.

I heard Molugu's father Hugu

has been

quite recognized lately by King Taiping.

He just broke into my room,

called me a slave.

I wonder it has anything to do with King Taiping.

If King Taiping doesn't like us.

you can kill us all if you want.

You don't have to send these scumbags

to insult me.

Brother-in-law.

So this Molugu

is one of your men?

He bullied me earlier.

You have to punish him

for me!

Stop it.

Mingyi, tell me,

what happened?

I don't know either.

I came here to drink

with Miss Yanyan.

We just got seated,

then we heard the noise outside.

So we came to see what happened.

King Taiping, forgive me.

This is a misunderstanding.

It's a mistake.

Misunderstanding?

You kicked my door

and called me a slave.

Now you say it's a misunderstanding?

King Taiping.

It's up to you then.

Take it easy, Mr. Gao.

I'm the same as Mingyi.

I heard the noise

when I was around.

I have nothing to do with this Molugu.

Molugu.

You cursed an important official.

You should be punished.

Now get out of here!

King Taiping, please forgive me.

I'll leave right now.

What a fool.

Thank you, King Taiping.

Mr. Gao

seemed to be in good spirit today.

You came to drink alone?

King Taiping.

I heard they got

a new group of foreign dancers.

All very beautiful.

So I came here to check them out.

What?

You want to join me?

No, you go enjoy yourself.

We can get together another day.

Sure.

Farewell then.

Brother-in-law.

We are going back to drink.

You continue.

Yanyan.

I didn't say I would go.

Don't talk rots to your sister.

Come on.

Your Excellency, anything wrong?

When Mingyi left the palace,

he went straight to Prime Minister's mansion?

Yes.

He waited at the door for quite some time.

I was wondering,

then I saw Miss Yanyan.

He was waiting for her.

He's like Xiyin.

Thought if he marry

Xiao Siwen's daughter,

he'll get the support from Xiao Siwen.

Silly rabbit.
