Episode 24

Summon Li Qingliu!

Greetings to Father.

You may rise.

Thank you, Father.

Qingliu is my son

But he drifted among the folks for many years.

Now he has returned.

I grant him the title of Prince Jun.

He will enjoy the same rights and status

as other princes.

I also grant him a mansion at Chang’an.

Thank you, Father.

As for the post of Prince Jun,

councilors, you can speak out.

Ministry of Personnel.

What do you think?

Your Majesty, I thought

Prince Jun has just returned to the Palace.

The affairs in the court are complicated and rigorous.

It is difficult to manage in a short time.

Now all departments are fully staffed.

It’s hard to insert a new position.

I think it’s better...

Go on.

Condescend to the Ministry of Rites

and take charge of concierge services and foreign affairs.

Prime Minister, you’ve done a good job

in finding my son in Silver City.

Tell me your opinion.

I think

Ministry of Personnel has a point.

Get familiar with the procedure,

system and etiquette of the court,

then transfer His Highness to another post.

All right.

Then make Prince Jun

a fifth rank official of the Ministry of Rites.

Award five boxes of silver

to Prime Minister, Lyu Chenyun.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Thank you, Father.

Your Majesty.

I have one more thing to report.

Since Prince Jun has come of age,

by the clan custom,

he should get married to be listed in the royal genealogy book.

Concubine De

mentioned it to me yesterday.

The daughter of Du Changfeng, Du Xiaoxian,

is of marriageable age.

She has a good grasp of piano, chess, calligraphy and painting.

Besides, she and Prince Jun grew up together.

Prince Jun, what do you think?

Father.

The daughter of the Du family is indeed brilliant.

But

I have no intention of marriage.

I’m about to enter the Palace and take the post,

I have a lot to do and to study.

There is no time to think about my personal matters.

Besides,

I already have someone in my mind.

Your marriage is at my disposal.

It’s not something you can play with.

Pass my order.

Summon Du Xiaoxian to the Palace

and make her the Concubine of Prince Jun.

Your Majesty.

I’m afraid the daughter of a commissioner

will not match with

Prince Jun right now.

Your Majesty.

Mr. Pang has a point.

My daughter is of no high status.

Prince Jun deserves better.

Mr. Du has been guarding Jiannan Dao for many years,

you not only protect the place and pacify the people,

but also made some progress in taxation.

Today I make you

a third rank assistant minister of the Ministry of War.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Father, I...

Prince Jun, you must obey His Majesty’s order.

That’s great!

Why don’t you tell Second Master

When my father took me to the western regions,

I heard you are from Jia’ermu.

Let’s play the classic game in your hometown.

The five fingers in the left hand correspond to the strings.

When the luthier plucks the string,

the needle needs to be inserted between the fingers corresponded.

After the music No Tears,

there will be someone with broken fingers.

Master, you’re not good at melody. Let’s not gamble.

I’m the best player in my hometown.

People don’t play like this in Jia’ermu.

But I don’t know about Silver City.

If you lose, tell me first

why you are so interested in my heirloom.

Let’s start.

You call such a thick stick needle?

Hone it with human bone a few more times, it will be thin.

Master, it’s too dangerous. Don’t...

All right.

Why do you cover your face?

Look at your delicate skin,

I guess you never lost.

Miss Long.

Why don’t you chat with me now?

The music is good. I am entranced.

The second half of the song is exquisite.

You cover up your face,

only showing a pair of eyes.

It’s not thorough enough.

Why don’t we play something exciting?

How about we cover our eyes?

I grew up making a life by myself,

my hands were cut many times.

A few more wounds mean nothing to me.

Come on.

It’ll heal in a couple of months at the most.

But I’m not sure about broken fingers.

Your jade koi is very rare.

The breed of koi of its decoration

is the imperial sakura koi.

Only the Palace has it.

It is impossible for ordinary people to have it.

You said it is your heirloom.

It’s a lie.

It’s from the Palace.

You are amazing.

We killed two birds with one stone this time.

We finally have a clue.

You spent the evening fighting a battle of wits,

you must be hungry now.

Let me buy you something to eat

at that corner.

All right.

I’ll wait for you at the intersection ahead.

Okay.

Wait for me!

Be a good loser.
