of Sich Riflemen was created.

mostly students of Kyiv universities.

They and four hundred cadets

School defended Kyiv on January
29 in the battle of Kruty.

Against three thousand Bolsheviks.

Defenders suffered
significant losses,

but still repulsed the first
attacks of the enemy.

When the scattered units of
defenders were assembled,

it turned out that there
was no single detachment.

Approximately 30 fighters
got lost and were captured.

In the same year, Muravyov was killed in
a shootout, which he initiated himself.
