[Episode 8]

[Minghua University]

[Dean's Office] [School of Journalism]

Come in.

Dean.

Bian Cheng. Come, sit.

A few days ago, we discussed going to LUU and doing an observation project. What are your thoughts?

I came to report back to you about this as well.

Last year, LUU introduced a new model for a school-run enterprise collaboration.

With support from society, they created a new ice hockey club.

They also competed in the National University Hockey Tournament.

In the nation, they are second to none and became a forerunner.

In addition, they've created quite a sensation in the educational circles.

I've already contacted LUU. Tomorrow, I'll go watch the XDragons game

so I can understand the situation better. I plan to do a series of reports after that.

Very good. Bian Cheng, as the top student in the journalism department,

you can't let down the professors' expectations of you.

I trust you to do this report well.

It will help MU develop it's thinking. (MU: Minghua University)

It is very meaningful and important.

I can do it.

Dean, if you have time tomorrow, we can go watch the game together.

Sounds good.

Gather around!

Come on. Huddle together.

Tomorrow is our game with the Lightning team.

Today, we'll end practice early so everyone can rest up.

Tomorrow's game is crucial.

It will determine whether our team will be in the top four.

The Lightning team's strength is very apparent.

Their strength is that all their players are tall and strong.

But their skill is not better than ours.

So if you guys want to win,

you have to look even stronger on the rink.

Beat them in an imposing manner first.

- Understand? - Understood!

Don't be afraid, okay? Just play at your usual level.

- Okay, is everyone confident? - Yes.

- Say it louder. Are you confident? - Yes!

Okay, great.

- This snack is really good. Anyone want to try? - I do.

Am I your delivery person?

That's it for today. You're dismissed.

Hey, Yubing.

Yes?

Imposing manner.

Think about that bravest person.

You say this before every game. Aren't you tired of it?

But every time I say it, it works.

Imposing manner.

Xia, this is the brown sugar, ginger tea I brewed for you. I even added tremella (a type of fungus).

Thank you, Big Xu.

This is what I should do.

Xiao Xia,

I heard that you are under the weather these days.

I made you a birds' nest soup and added extra red dates in it.

You'll surely get better.

- You're... - You're...

Well, since we're all coaches,

don't we also act as fathers and mothers? Yu Yan has to train so hard.

I brewed him some tonics; build up his health.

Look. We thought of the same thing.

As coaches, we just have the life of caring for others.

My hockey team works so hard, so I turned on the stove and made them something.

That's what I admire about your personality. All this comes so naturally to you.

You have such a large hockey team. And you only made this much? Is the stove in your house that small?

Coach Jin, you have to ruin everything, don't you?

Don't think I don't know what you have in there. Soup for Yu Yan? You have such a glib tongue.

I have a glib tongue. Aren't you talking the same nonsense?

I'm telling you. Let go of your illusions. What was between you and Xiao Xia is in the past.

Even so, it's more than you. Do you even have a past with her? Where is your past?

If it weren't for my oversight, would I be letting you get in quicker than me?

Further, you two are divorced. What does this show? It shows that I have a second chance from fate.

In addition, Xiao Xia doesn't like your style anymore.

Do you know what Xiao Xia likes? Xiao Xia likes the scholarly and refined but not lacking intensity; a little wildness that also has some gentleness.

This type. Someone involved in figure skating is not merely an athlete.

He is also an artist.

Come on. Faster, faster, faster.

What!

Coach Jin, if I didn't blow the whistle, you'd have flown off.

You're the one flying off.

Coaches, which scene are you two acting out?

Xiao Xia, this is some soup I stewed for you.

Xiao Xia, you work too hard.

Coach, Li Hongshuang has hypoglycemia and fainted again. (hypoglycemia = low blood sugar)

Low blood sugar again?

Coach Xu and Coach Jin just happened to make some health supplements. I'll bring these to her.

Oh, okay.

Thank you, Coaches.

When we're done with classes, come with me to go shopping. I'll buy you a skirt.

Can you buy me a skirt that is XXXXXS in size so it'll squeeze me to death and then it'll just bust open,

and then a guy will appear to wrap a jacket around me.

Can you be serious for a second?

Actually, I don't know what was wrong with Li Yubing that day. I thought he came over to make fun of me.

When he wrapped his jacket around me,

if it was anyone else, they'd definitely be moved.

Master Tang, do you know? Your life is at its peak, you know?

At that time, that view was so dreamy, so stunning, so dazzling, you know?

It was like you were the female lead in an idol drama, like a goddess that descended to the human world.

The male lead's here.

I want to talk to you privately.

Got it! I'll head out first. Bye-bye.

What's this?

This is a contract dissolvement agreement.

After you sign, you'll officially have resigned from the club.

You'll no longer be my assistant.

This card has ¥50,000 on it. I forgive you for violating my privacy.

You don't need to pay the penalty. Just sign and you'll be free.

Are you going to sign it or not? My hands are tired from holding it up.

There are two copies. You have to sign both.

After you sign,

we will no longer be an athlete and assistant.

Now, we have no reason to see each other anymore.

What is it now, bro?

This is a ticket for tomorrow's hockey game. It's a home game; the last game in the tournament.

I hope you can come and cheer us on.

I'll see how I feel.

[National University Hockey Tournament]

Completely canceled? Really?

That's not like him at all.

Master Tang, I think you need to be careful.

Does he have something up his sleeve again?

But he already gave me the money. What other schemes can he have?

Using philosophy, cool relations, in the beginning, can make the later stages

be even more passionate.

"Love... is a gentle blossom. But it can also prick your hands like thorns.

Love is an adorable tyranny. Some sweethearts are willing to suffer its torment.

Love doesn't need a go-between for needless words. It completely relies on tacit understandings.

In love and war, naturally, you gain the initiative by striking first."

A wise philosopher once said this.

"Only a cough and love can't be covered up."

Say it so we can understand.

I guess you guys are still college students.

Tagore [Indian poet and writer] once said,

"The furthest distance in the world is not between life and death,

but when I stand in front of you, yet you don't know that I love you."

To put it simply, he likes you.

That's impossible.

The wise Socrates said so.

[The 5th National University Hockey Tournament]

Dean Wang, look. This is the new ice rink for the XDragons Team.

All of our equipment, including our on-ice technology, are the most advanced ones in the world.

Including all our equipment technology on the second floor.

[XDragons: 0; Lightning: 1]

He's fierce.

I can handle it.

Li Yubing! Li Yubing! Li Yubing!

Not bad, pretty good.

Be cautious and very careful.

Professors, the one with No. 19 uniform in the rink,

this is our XDragon Team hockey star, Li Yubing.

Let's go, Li Yubing! Let's go, Li Yubing!

Let's go, Li Yubing! Let's go, Li Yubing!

She still didn't come.

[XDragons: 2; Lightning: 3]

These people are crazy.

Don't be a coward.

Come on everyone, cheer up!

It's only half-time. Here.

Let me add some energy for you guys.

Old Xu, why are we eating at this time? You eat them, we won't eat.

What are you thinking? I won't even give them to you if you want to eat.

Let me tell you guys.

For the first half, our problem was mainly passing the puck at the wrong place.

The defense wasn't done well. That's why it's easy for you to fall into the opponent's traps. Here.

When the forward sees that our team has the puck, you have to be careful and not be offside.

Once you're in the offensive zone, be prepared to pass at any time.

If you can't score on the first try, be sure to follow up immediately.

Defense, pay attention to the center forward of the opposite team.

Other team members, watch out for the corresponding players' locations.

When you go on the offense, you need to place the puck behind the blue line.

The wingman can then find an opportunity to pass it backward.

Shoot at the first opportunity; don't hesitate.

Do these right, we can definitely win this game.

Do you all have confidence?

- Yes! - Okay.

- I'm already hungry by talking so much. - Let's go!

Yubing.

Imposing manner.

Think of the one who is the bravest.

Okay.

The third period begins now. We can see all the athletes returning to the rink to warm up.

The momentum of both teams has already sparked a fierce flame.

Li Yubing, your performance in the first half of the game was just so-so.

LUU Ice God.

Not talking? Talking doesn't require energy.

This is a hockey game, not doing a stand-up comedy show.

Fine. Friendly reminder, we'll be even more fierce.

Be careful not to get hurt.

Imposing manner. Think of the one who is the bravest.

You can try.

You can try.

Okay, the teams are preparing for the face-off. In the first two periods, XDragons is behind with a score of 2 to 3.

Let's see how the XDragons will be in this last period.

Okay, it begins!

XDragons gets the puck first.

Number 19, Li Yubing passed the blue line.

He passed the puck!

Jiang Shijia hits the puck behind the goal.

Li Yubing quickly follows up, Lightning's defense is in danger.

Li Yubing makes a quick turn to avoid the opponent and brings the puck into the goal!

That was a beautiful move!

It looks like XDragons made a few adjustments after the first two periods.

The so-called Ice God, Li Yubing, is also starting to work hard.

Let's see if XDragons can continue this condition until the very end.

Okay, we're back on the ice with the two teams facing off.

The face-off players are XDragon's #19 Li Yubing

and Lightning's #55 Liu Mingwei.

Lightning gets the puck, good! Passes the puck, Wang Xiaodi is on the offense.

Jiang Shijia intercepts and knocks the player outside the wall.

Jiang Shijia was also knocked out. The referee has not blown the whistle so the game continues.

This is way too intense. Lightning continues their offense.

Shoot!

Such as pity.

Li Yubing gets the puck and prepares for a rebound.

He passed the blue line and passed the puck.

His teammates assist and continue the offense.

Jiang Shijia gets the puck. It's Jiang Shijia!

Li Yubing.

Turning around!

Far-away shot!

[XDragons: 4; Lightning: 3]

Beautiful! Goal!

At such a crucial moment for the offense,

XDragons Li Yubing has eliminated the opponent.

They are the winners of this game!

Li Yubing has indeed lived up to our expectations. Right when the game was about to end,

a beautiful turn broke through the opponent's defense

and scored a goal. It was amazing!

Thank you, everyone.

Thank you to the XDragons for an entire season of hard work.

This year's National University Hockey Tournament ends here.

We'll see you again next year.

- Dean, why don't we have an exclusive interview with Li Yubing later? - Sure.

He played so well in this game, right?

Right? Our XDragons hockey star.

Everyone, this is today's hero that led our team from defeat into a victory,

our top star in the team, Li Yubing.

- Hello. - Hello.

Everyone, sit.

Just now, we saw the game with your superb skills.

You're also a man with a striking appearance.

Ah, thank you.

Li Yubing?

What's his relationship with Tang Xue?

Yubing, they are professors from MU

and their observation group. They specially came to observe our club this time.

If anyone has any questions, you can ask Li Yubing.

Leadership values this observation very much, so you have to say good things.

You can emphasize the general manager's outstanding contributions or something like that.

Okay.

Hello, Li Yubing, I'm Bian Cheng.

What's his relationship with Tang Xue?

Why did he try to get Tang Xue's cap?

Hello.

I heard LUU and XDragons Club worked together for more than two years.

In regards to the European and American new model of selecting new players from the campus,

for your hockey team, what's your greatest advantage and difficulty?

Ah, right.

What right? He's asking you a question.

Sorry, I didn't hear it clearly.

It's okay then I'll change the question.

They say that apart from your ice hockey studies, you are also minoring in astronomy.

He must have a story with Tang Xue.

Then as a hockey player, before the competition, you must need a lot of time to train.

Under these circumstances, how do you have time to study?

You said before the competition, right?

We don't study before the competition.

No, he meant doing study simultaneously. Studying simultaneously.

Ah, studying simultaneously.

I think being an outstanding athlete,

you need very strong reflection skills and studying skills. At the same time, being able to handle both studying and practicing.

We really encourage younger athletes to learn more.

Then, even if they retire from the sport, it can help them in the real world.

Of course, all of this is done under the careful supervision of our general manager.

Why did you come here?

I heard Liao Zhenyu say that you met your first love and then...

Blabber mouth.

Why did you sit here? Be careful not to get sick.

It's none of your business.

Can you not rub everything on your clothes? Good thing you're washing it yourself this time.

You washed it last time?

You took me to the hotel?

Last time, I was afraid everyone would say the hockey team's assistant slept on the streets.

So, your first love is...

Bian Cheng?

Is it your business?

I won't mention it.

But if you want to say, I can help by listening to you.

It's not called "first love."

At most, it was an unrequited love.

Why would you secretly like him?

I also don't know.

Perhaps everyone will have someone like that during that time. You didn't have one?

I didn't. I'm very busy.

Then, do you still like him right now?

Some feelings cannot be generalized by like or dislike.

Because that was my entire youth.

Such a coincidence.

Such a coincidence.

♫ Snowflakes are falling, ♫

♫ do you see them? ♫

♫ Holding your hand so tightly, it’s warm that I’m melting ♫

♫ Snowflakes are falling, ♫

♫ I want to become them ♫

♫ Year after year, they stay by your side as a sweet fairy tale ♫

Such a coincidence.

I'm leaving now.

In that period of my youth, there was Liao Zhenyu,

Bian Cheng, Zhou Ran, and many others...

But no me.

How much do you like him?

Liking him to the point when I dreamed of getting into the same university as him every day.

Back then when you wanted to go to the same middle school as me, did you also feel like that?

So you gave up skating for him?

Tang Xue?

You came?

Are you going to the competition?

I'm going soon. Do you have time to watch?

I'm very sorry.

At the lunch break, I need to do mock exam questions, so I can't go.

Did you want to ask me something?

Oh, I wanted to give you this.

Open it when you get back.

Tang Xue! What are you doing? We're leaving.

I'm coming!

I'm leaving now. Let's talk after I come back.

This is Tang Xue. Her competition scores in the past are very steady.

She has potential. We can observe her for this year's National Youth Team.

I saw her previous scores.

She broke the record in Hucheng's Youth Short Track Team.

She has good potential.

Tang Xue, I received your feelings,

but my priority is to get into university. I don't have time to date.

I'm sorry.

Tang Xue, what are you doing? Hurry and change your shoes. It's time to get on the rink now.

It seems like her starting reflex is a bit slow.

- Tang Xue! - Tang Xue! - Are you okay?

Can I still compete in

the national championships in two months?

Xue'er, you should focus on getting better first.

Your injury this time was pretty serious. Many of your soft tissues were injured.

The doctors said it'll take at least half a year for your leg to fully heal.

Okay, I'll wait until my leg heals. After my leg heals, I'll start training again.

There's no way I can't get back to the same skill level as before.

I just need physical therapy, right? I'll start right now.

How can you get out of bed right now?

In your current state, even if you fully recover,

you can't go back to your former skill level anyway.

And your injury might flare up again in future tournaments.

- Impossible! - That's what the doctor said.

Am I unable to skate anymore?

The reason Dad had you go to high school

was so that you would have a backup plan,

so that in the future you would always have another option.

When school starts, you'll be a second year. With your injury, you can't train anymore. (high school in China is 3 years)

Let's just focus on the college entrance exam.

I want to ice skate!

Xue'er.

Mom and Dad only have you.

Our biggest wish

is for you to be safe and healthy your whole life.

That's all.

Can you think about it from our perspective?

She missed it just by a little. If she had nicked an artery, her life would be in danger.

- Tang Xue, we'll get going. - Bye-bye.

Gifted Scholar, I heard you got early admission to MU. Is it true?

Good for you!

Bian Cheng rejected you and influenced your selection opportunity.

So you gave up short track speed skating.

Do you hate him?

I only hate myself. Why was I so weak-hearted?

Why didn't I get back on the ice after recovering?

Why did I let go of my dream so easily?

Don't be so careless from now on.

You've changed.

How so?

The younger Li Yubing, who was scared of bugs

and thugs is all grown up.

[Childhood story]

[Exhibition Hall of Character Brick]

For today's activity, our students will be young commentators.

After you finish an explanation, you can ask for a ticket stub from the visitors.

You can exchange three ticket stubs for a red flower.

Red flowers can be exchanged for different rewards.

There's stationery, toys, backpacks. Does everyone understand?

- Yes! - Good.

- Sister, Uncle, Auntie, can I explain this to you? - Sure.

It's free.

- Thank you for listening. - Pretty good.

- Here you go. - Thank you.

- Thank you. Thank you. - Good job today.

Excuse me, Sir. How was that little girl's explanation?

That child said this place used to be where Madam White Snake and Xiaoqing used to cultivate. (characters in Legend of the White Snake)

- She said it was a secret that no one else knew. - This is complete nonsense.

Then, how come you still gave her the ticket stubs?

Because she's so cute!

Auntie, let me explain it to you.

Auntie, I explained it better.

Auntie, I memorized the explanation. Pick me.

Pick me. I'm so cute.

Pick me.

- These kids are so cute. - Auntie.

Pick me. Choose me.

Hi, Sister.

How come you're calling me "Sister"?

You're so young, should I call you Auntie instead?

Move over! Move over!

Sister, this is Li Yubing. We're the commentators here.

It's free. He hasn't explained to anyone yet today.

Can you let him explain to you? Please! Please!

- Call me "Sister." - Sister.

Then today, you'll explain to me.
