The Moon Brightens for You

Episode 23

It's time,

Untie them.

Come on, come on.

Hurry up.

Untie them.

Hurry up.

Come on

Slowly, slowly.

Are you alright?

Are you ok?

Slowly, slowly.

Are you ok?

Is it ok?

You alright?

Chief coach, are you ok?

Calm down,

don't make too much noises,

people are going to think that we're celebrating,

General Lin would punish up if he found out.

Right, right, right.

Judging from your happy faces,

instead of be ashamed of it,

you are proud of it.

General,

the reason you punished us

is that we were fighting with one another,

now we are united,

isn't it

your intention?

The war is around the corner,

we're definitely going through it together,

no matter what the obstacles are.

Yeah,

together.

Together, together, together.

You're loyal,

I am definitely

making a friend in you.

Don't let it happen again.

repetitive offender will be executed.

Why did you voluntarily get punishment?

Are you happy now?

Luo Wu was punished because of me,

I am the chief coach,

he's my brother,

of course we're taking the same blame.

Ma'am,

you are wearing man's clothes,

but that doesn't make you a man.

Don't do it again.

We were so worried.

Do you have to scold me every day?

I don't get the director,

look at your sunburn,

and he didn't even intervene.

This is a military camp,

of course we have to follow the code.

The order is not from someone else,

it's from the director,

he must have an ulterior motive.

What is it?

I'm still thinking about it.

Director.

Ma'am,

I'll go do the laundry.

Director, director.

Let me, let me.

Director, sit.

Director,

I know that

taking the punishment with Luo Wu

is contradictory to your order.

I know I'm at fault.

Don't be mad anymore.

So you knew but you still did it?

And you badmouthed me in front of them?

No, no,

you heard it wrong.

You just said I had an ulterior motive.

Did I hear it wrong?

I meant that

you're strategic

and insightful.

I didn't expect that

you'd actually exposed to sunlight

for two whole days.

Are you feeling alright?

Do you feel anything uncomfortable?

No, I'm great.

Great?!

No problem at all,

I just need to drink more water.

I made green bean soup,

it helps with heatstroke,

they already have theirs,

this is yours.

I happened to be thirsty,

thank you, director.

Delicious.

I knew you'd like it.

Bring more green bean soup.

Looks like

ma'am only listens to director,

Ma'am

get this from her father.

I listen to you.

Go get your clothes over here,

I'll wash them together.

Ok.

Xiao Lan,

you're doing laundry again?

I'll pump water for you.

Here.

I'll do it, I'll do it.

Thank you.

I'll do it.

I got it.

Xiao Lan,

how old are you?

Eighteen.

Are your parents still out and about?

Do you have siblings?

Where are you from?

You're asking for a lot of details,

are you trying to set up a marriage for me?

Do you have marriage arrangement?

Yeah,

Xiao Lan,

what do you think about our camp?

We are all from untainted backgrounds.

Yeah.

Huo Yang.

Lame.

Let go of my hand,

Huo Yang,

Huo Yang, you're hurting me.

I'm sorry.

Someone else likes me,

who are you to reject it?

Who are you to me?

In my opinion,

you just don't want me to be happy.

What's your mood now?

What...

You should try to...

In House Zhan,

I've said I will protect you,

I asked you if you want to be protected by me.

You said depends on your mood.

So I'm asking what's your mood now.

Xiao Lan,

I'm serious about you.

I said I'll protect you forever,

I meant it.

I am a man of my word,

I will keep my word.

This is hardly the place for it.

People are watching.

I want people to see that

you're my woman,

you belong to me.

Give me an answer today,

if you're not interested,

I won't say another word,

I will leave you alone.

You have to take responsibility

for the things you've said and done.

Idiot.

But,

you always bite a piece of grass,

you do look silly.

Why do you always bite on the grass?

When I was young,

my whole family was murdered,

and I was frightened,

and I had to be a drifter.

I was just like this grass,

I had nothing to depend on.

You don't have to bite on it anymore,

you're not like it anymore.

You have me now.

Director,

can you just be straightforward?

I have an ulterior motive.

Still?

I can't drink anymore,

this is the sixth bowl.

Alright, I'll stop teasing you.

I'm not that petty,

I was just worried that you're dehydrated,

so I tricked you into drinking more.

You should've told me earlier,

I was full

after the third one.

Fine, let's get to business.

Go on.

How do you see

Luo Wu and Gu Qing and the other five captains?

Good kungfu,

loyal,

hard workers.

They're from decent families,

and they have integrity,

they can be a little rebellious,

but that actually suits you.

You've investigated their backgrounds?

You are the general now,

you need to have some confidants.

I don't know battle strategies,

I am just the chief coach at most.

That's what I'm talking about.

Since we arrived in Mian Yang,

I have been discussing with General Gao,

but we're outnumbered,

and Xi Yan may send back-up any time.

if we want to defeat our enemies,

the most efficient solution

is to attack Du Zeng directly.

But Du Zeng is a fan of Kungfu,

and rumors says he's a master.

An ordinary soldier

will not be his competition.

You want to

send me, Luo Wu and the lot

to kill Du Zeng?

Luo Wu was punished because of you,

and you wouldn't have just sat it out.

You did have some tough time,

but the people who were there with you

are already convinced about you,

they're your confidants now.

Next,

you should train this crew,

including Huo Yang,

even though you only have 9 people,

but you're experts.

This crew

is different than other crews,

maybe,

it will the raider of the war.

Director,

you are....

thoughtful.

I will train them.

Where is teacher?

Hold on.

Teacher is here.

What?

You got in trouble again?

You want me to ask for a favor from the general?

Chief coach,

please be our teacher.

Please be our teacher.

We're willing to be in your house.

We want to follow you

and practice Kungfu

and help the underprivileged.

Er...

How can I take such a big responsibility?

Patriarch Zhan,

we admire your character,

and we want to be in your house.

Please take us.

Yeah,

please take us in.

Sir,

they're sincere,

why don't you consider it?

I thought they were our kind of people,

just like Zhan's nautical brothers.

Ok.

Starting now,

you're apprentices of house Zhan.

We are family now.

This is great,

from now on,

we're not just comrades,

we belong to the same house now.

Yeah.

Alright, let's do it together.

Teacher,

please accept this bow.

Accept this bow.

Get up,

get up.

Thank you, teacher.

Teacher.

Teacher.

Teacher,

please accept this bow.

Luo Wu,

don't you want General Lin be your teacher?

That was before,

now I want chief coach.

I don't want anybody

who doesn't want to be here.

No.

I swear, I'm house Zhan forever,

and I'll be a ghost in house Zhan after I die.

Alright,

if you want to be the junior,

I have no problem with that.

what do you guys think?

No problem, no problem.

We definitely have no problem.

Having a junior,

it's going to be great.

Yeah.

Isn't it inappropriate?

I think it's appropriate.

If you don't want to,

then forget about it.

Fine.

Then call us senior brothers.

Yeah.

Senior brothers.

Do it.

Senior brothers.

Senior brothers.

What?

We didn't hear it.

Yeah, louder.

Louder.

Senior brothers.

Ok,

get up, good student of mine.

I'm taking you in today.

Brother Luo,

only the junior gets his cheeks pinched.

Let's.

Pinch his face.

Junior.

Junior,

Junior,

a junior with a beard.

Let's take a look.

A beard.

Go, Luo Wu.

Go.

Yeah.

Why are you afraid of everything?

Come on.

Go.

Don't be afraid, come on.

Come on.

I'll help you.

Go.

Come on.

Go ahead.

Go.

Go on.

Don't look back.

Go, go.

It's fine, go.

Go.

Go.

Ok.

Come on.

you can do it.

Ok.

Steady.

Ok, ok, ok.

You can do it.

Are you ok, Luo Wu?

I'm fine.

Come on.

Ok.

To the right.

Stab him.

Good, good.

Good, good.

Good, good.

Still won.

Yeah.

So,

the training of Mian Yang military is competed.

Report.

General,

we're arriving Mian Yang.

Report says there are military in the city,

and they have taken over Mian Yang,

seems like they're prepared.

A bunch of nobody,

they're over-confident.

Yes.

Princess.

Consort.

General Xiahou, please get up.

General Xiahou,

consort hasn't been feeling well lately.

He said he hasn't seen you in a while

and he misses you.

That's why we invited you over.

Thank you.

you don't have to worry now.

Then I'll leave you alone.

I will send servants

to bring in desserts and tea.

I disturbed you.

Princess.

General Xiahou.

Zisu,

you don't look depressed anymore.

Life must go on.

Uncle Xiahou looks better now too.

Your sister once told me

cherish today,

avoid regrets in the future.

This saying

has influenced me a great deal.

We can both learn from it.

That does sound like Xiao Rou.

Sometimes we don't take her as seriously

because of her age.

Actually,

she is a lot mature

than we give her credit for.

Uncle Xiahou seems to

like Xiao Rou more now?

Zisu, you invited me here.

Is there anything you want to tell me?

Yes.

Uncle Xiahou,

As the advisor,

I sometimes assist the emperor.

And I happened to hear

some officials talking about

a fellow official died suddenly,

or maybe it's sudden resign,

or sudden disease?

Is it true?

Indeed.

Then in your opinion,

all these incidents,

are they normal?

No, the opposite.

When there are too many accidents,

it might just mean that

someone is making some moves.

That's what I thought.

I always thought that

something big is going to happen to the court.

Zisu,

You're finally back,

the situation of the court is not clear at the moment.

We should see as we go along,

do not be impulsive.

The big picture is always the priority.

Uncle Xiahou,

Mian Yang...

Zisu, you've said that

there is no turning back.

Some things,

are better left unasked.

I understand, uncle Xiahou.

General Xiahou,

are you here for the cure for director?

I'm almost...

No.

Are you sick?

I told you not to drink so much.

I have something on my chest,

and I want to ask Lady Wen about it.

Maybe you can help me out.

Please, this way.

Something on your chest?

it should be caused by fatigue.

You have been practicing for years,

you have a strong body.

Your pulse is strong as well,

you were drinking two days ago

because of some annoyance.

but it wasn't a big deal.

These few days,

remember not to drink,

you'll recover after some rest.

Anything else?

Even though you said it's not a big deal,

I think it's better if I took some medicine.

Medicines are always somewhat toxic,

I invented a new Shihu tea,

how about take some home with you?

Just take one dose a day.

Thank you, lady Wen.

Lady Wen,

thank you for your effort in director's cure.

Sure.

Map of military in Mian Yang

General.

General.

The army led by Du Zeng

is less than 80 miles away from here.

They're still moving,

and they will arrive after noon.

Give the order,

act according to the strategy.

Yes.

Go notify official Xuan Kai.

Yes.

Ma'am, be careful.

You too.

Let's go.

We're ready.

General Lin.

Official Xuan Kai wouldn't come,

he ordered us to guard the city,

and ordered you to assassinate Du Zeng

to save Mian Yang.

We have to force the army to back off,

then we can send the assassins out of the city.

Looks like,

it is going to be a tough battle.

I already discussed with general Gao,

he has set up troops in three gates.

You just need to take your troops

to guard the three gates.

During a battle

where powers are balanced,

it becomes a matter of courage.

I just hope that because of you,

our army will be inspired.

Yes.

You two,

take your trained results

to guard the city.

Once the enemy came in the gates,

it won't be something General Gao and I can control.

I hope that

you can assist with the troops,

guard the city,

defeat the enemies.

Yes.

This is Golden armor, a family heirloom.

Wear this these days.

This hole...

was it because of Huo Yang last time?

No,

his kungfu

is not enough to break this.

I burnt this when I was young.

You should wear it,

you have to be on the tower fighting enemies,

and you may have to go out of the gate

when it's necessary.

You need it more.

I have a new one.

I'm only giving it to you because it has a hole.

Don't believe me? look.

Naughty.

You thought I'd actually show you?

I'm off.

Du

General.

Rebellions are coming from east, west and south.

General Lin was right,

they are coming from three directions at the same time.

It might be a cover-up.

We're prepared,

we just need to adapt.

Left line, get ready.

Left line, get ready.

Attack.

Yes.

Right line, get ready.

Right line, get ready.

Attack.

Yes.

Order received.

Charge.

We're not good at arrows,

nor hidden weapons.

This is a great distance,

we can't use our fists or swords.

Teacher,

battle fields are different than Wulin.

I'll show you.

General,

the rebellion hasn't broken the gate.

Increase the power.

Cover the front line, take over the tower.

Find an opportunity,

get rid of Gao Jianhua first.

Yes.

General Gao,

watch out.

That's not Wulin kungfu,

you're from Yan.

These three are from Weiwu clan.

They are all kungfu masters.

They're from Yan,

be careful, everybody.

They're here for general Gao,

they want to catch the head first.

Watch out.

Director, director.

Lin Fang.

Lin Fang, are you ok?

Don't worry,

thanks for your golden armor.

You saved me again.

And you're laughing?

You have to wear this at all times.

You must wear it.

This Golden Arrow is powerful.

Such a heavy arrow,

with such a distance,

I didn't expect that

there's such a great archer in the rebellion.

It didn't kill him.

Didn't expect there's such an all-round talent

in Gao's army.

It's not a good day for battle,

beat the drum and retreat.

Yes.

Retreat.

General,

Du Zeng retreated.

Generals,

we guarded the city this time.

We did it, we did it.

Thank you, everybody.

Thank you.

We did it, we did it.

Thank you.

We did it.

We did it, we did it.

Thank you, everybody.

Thank you.

We did it, we did it.

Thank you.

We did it, we did it.

Thank you.

Don't look.

We did it, we did it.

Stop looking.

Let's go.

We did it, we did it.

Don't look.

We did it, we did it.

It's so embarrassing.

Too embarrassing.

Ma'am, bad news.

Director is coming this way.

He's mad.

I can't save you,

you're on your own.

Where is Huo Yang?

Huo Yang can't help you either.

Director.

Qinghong,

you lied to me.

Director,

it was so close,

we almost lost you forever.

I know I'm wrong, director,

I shouldn't have lied to you.

Now,

my identity has been exposed.

Please help me.

You know you're wrong now?

where is your armor?

Show me.

Armor?

How can I fit in anymore?

Director,

do you think Luo Wu and the lot

would accept that I'm a girl?

What to do now?

Help me finding a solution,

I swear,

I will listen to you from now on.

You swear you'll listen to me?

I said so many things,

and you only heard that...

Fine, fine.

I'll listen to the director from now on.

To Lin Fang.

I'll listen to Lin Fang.

You won't try to be a hero.

I won't try to be a hero.

I forgive you this time,

but don't do it again.

Here's your armor.

Take a look at this.

What is it?

mental cultivation methods

Fire phoenix,

jumping dragons.

Sounds impressive.

Is it seven-star swordsmanship?

Of course not.

This is Lin's swordsmanship.

Traditionally you have to be an apprentice in house Lin

to get access to this.

Then I can't accept this.

I am a patriarch,

I can't be an apprentice to another house.

The rebellion is powerful,

this swordsmanship may not make you compete with100 people,

but 10 people at a time is not a problem.

Go practice,

along with the armor,

maybe you won't be invincible,

but you'll at least be safe.

Fine.

I'll take the swordsmanship,

you take the armor.

In case they want to capture the head again.

What are you going to do then?

Then I'll keep the armor for now,

but the swordsmanship,

you have to memorize it now.

Why do I have to memorize it?

You can't memorize it, can you?

I can recite it right now.

Ask away.

Why did you tear it apart?

Because this swordsmanship

can only be known by you.

You're not worried that I didn't memorize it?

I did.

If you can't recall,

come find me.

When you're ready,

come with me to House Supervisor.

Ok.

Ma'am,

director didn't do anything to you, did he?

Now you care about me?

You were faster than rabbit earlier.

I was creating an opportunity for you,

so that the director can care about you.

What a load of rubbish.

But,

I realized that even though director looks serious,

but he's like dad,

as long as you behave and be apologetic,

he will forgive you.

Ma'am,

he'd be furious if he found out that

you think of him as a dad.

As long as you don't tell anybody.

Watching the stars comfortably.

Report, we defeated the enemy

The battle today,

Du Zeng brought 50 thousand of soldiers,

General Astute and I took 30 thousand

and defeated the rebellion.

There were over 30 attacks,

and caused over 10 thousand casualties in the rebellion.

We lost less than 4 thousand.

We had a big win.

General Astute,

what do you think the report

written as this?

It all depends on your advice,

written as this

is the most suitable.

I saw bragging,

but not bragging like this.

But I didn't know that

General Zhan is a female soldier.

We came to assist,

General Zhan pretended to be a man

is for convenience.

Please forgive us

for not notifying you.

No to worry,

General Zhan is an important soldier,

I couldn't praise her enough,

why would I blame her?

The supper today

is to celebrate our win.

Please don't be shy.

Come on.

Chief coach Zhan,

thank you for saving my life.

General Gao, please don't mention it.

We're in the same boat,

it's my duty to do so.

Next time,

maybe you have to save me.

Chief coach Zhan,

your swordsmanship is excellent,

and you are so beautiful.

Do you have marriage arrangement?

I have someone in my heart.

His kungfu is better than mine.

You'll find out when you see Wen You.

General Zhan, do you mean

the son of Wen Qiao,

the assistant of prince, Wen You?

Exactly.

That's weird.

What's weird?

He married princess Huayao a while ago,

he's the consort now,

don't you know, general Zhan?

Qinghong.

What did he say?

Wen You married the princess.

he's the consort now?

Qinghong,

be calm.

Qinghong.
