[Legend of Awakening]

[Episode 3]

Since we're tracking someone down,

we'll need specific experts in that field.

Miss, Young Lord Wei said he has posted wanted posters

from the east to the west of the city.

Perhaps, offering a reward might really work?

Who is it?

Please spare me, heroine!

I am Mo Lin.

I came here because of the poster.

The wanted poster is truly exceptional.

They are posted from the east to the west of the city.

The words written are even bigger than my head.

Reading it makes me stressed out.

It took me a good half of the day to tear all the posters down. [Mo Lin - An Assassin]

I couldn't let anyone else benefit...

No. I couldn't let anyone take the reward.

Heroine.

You possess no Pneuma of Strength at all.

Just do what you're capable of.

No need to take this poster seriously, you also don't have the ability.

You can't question my talent, just because I'm imperfect.

My poor situation and poverty are temporary.

But I'm excellent at finding people, one among ten thousand people.

- Ling Ziyan, take him hostage and send him to the officials. - Yes.

Get up!

You woke up and refreshed yourself at dawn.

You didn't use willow to brush your mouth like everyone does; instead, you used peach blossom stem.

You went out in the morning; besides being accompanied by this lady, four other men were with you.

First, you went to an iron forge, then traveled across half of Chan State from south to north.

Senses! You excel in the Pneuma of Pivot.

During lunch time, you were at the north of the city at Pinxian Restaurant.

The dishes were sea bass sashimi, glazed crab, wicked chicken, black rice, almond panna cotta, and shredded pickles.

But it seems like you had a bad appetite, you gave each dish less than three bites.

But you did have a bowl of cold noodles with pagoda leaves.

You went out of town in the afternoon.

About two miles away, you passed by a flower field of common peonies.

You stood in front of a white common peony for around 15 minutes.

Then you passed by a purple one, and you went... east!

You only come back to Chan State in the evening.

- What else? - There's something in your waistband that doesn't belong to you.

I'm looking for the best of the best.

Even if you smelled something, but had yourself killed,

what does that benefit me?

You get to keep her alive.

- When did you poison her? - When I came to the residence at midnight.

I told you, I truly am an assassin.

If you hire me now, I'll be at your command.

So, I will have to save your servant; how's that?

Am I qualified now?

- It hurts! - Do you know who I am?

Ling Ziyan is the maid who guards my sword and is not just someone anybody can touch.

I have the antidote! As for the money... You can pay me less.

I'll hire you.

But next time, watch your attitude.

Ziyan.

Wake up!

How can she take such a big pill?

Sir, he indeed is one of us. [Wei Ming - Security Guard/Butler of Wei Household]

We couldn't tell because his Mountain and Sea Badge was taken.

Why did Miss Qin say

the one who tried to harm her is an undercover of Mountain and Sea Gang?

Could it be that His Lord set another undercover in Chan State?

Sir, you've been in Chan State for years under our Lord's orders,

collecting information in the name of doing business.

Even if he sent other men from our gang,

I'm certain they would've informed you.

Besides, if he really is a part of the gang,

why would he kill one of us?

This is too suspicious! We have to report to His Lord immediately.

The Wei family will cease to exist if His Lord gets angered.

Wei Ming, send men to keep an eye on Miss Qin.

No matter who she runs into,

no matter friend or enemy, bring them back to me.

We can never let the Qin family have them!

Yes, sir.

[Mountain and Sea Tower (TN: Mountain and Sea Gang's place)]

Chief! An emergency message from Chan State. [Lin Tianyi - Mountain and Sea Gang, Mountain Division Leader]

Situ Chong was murdered in Chenqiao.

And his Mountain and Sea Badge is stolen!

Impossible! Situ Chong has mastered three Pneumas. [Zhou Youlong - Mountain and Sea Gang, Fire Division Leader]

No one in Chenqiao could rival him!

Chief!

Forgive me, Chief! I will send Xing Luo, the best man

in the Fire Division down there right away.

How dare he touch what belongs to Mountain and Sea Gang. [Yan Jin - Mountain and Sea Gang Chief Leader]

Just send him to the underworld, then.

[Wind Taker Institute]

I think this is the place and the smell here is the strongest.

[Closed]

Closed?

It's early in the morning but the door is locked.

Something is not right.

Forget it!

The unparalleled martial artist live in such a shabby place?

Dear God, grant me some luck!

Young Lord Zhao, is Master Guo really not here?

Don't you lie to me!

Madam Jin, please!

Master is really not here.

I almost died and your master doesn't care at all?

He sent you guys to save me, but he didn't even leave me a message?

He did!

But Master said relationships cost a lot of money,

- so please pay the commission at once. - Okay.

I admire talented men like him.

Come on, kid!

You have such a handsome appearance but why can't you be sweeter?

If you keep calling me Madam in the future,

then I will get upset.

- Madam Jin. - Fine!

I... just wanted you to praise me in front of your master.

In fact, from the very beginning, I knew you're a good kid.

Unlike that... God of Bandits.

He always appears and disappears unpredictably.

I knew he's a cunning man the minute I saw him.

That's true! It is rather odd.

Even though the God of Bandits isn't a man with good morals

but he is always willing to help the Wind Takers.

Because of that, he has my gratitude.

What a funny guy you are!

This is the first time I hear someone praising a bad man!

All right! I'll stop teasing you now.

I'm leaving.

By the way, don't forget to bring your master later

over to Ruyu House when he is free.

God of Bandits?

Ruyu House?

Ms. Qin, I have found the culprit's hiding place.

All you need to do is send me 20 strong men.

I have my own way to capture him.

Please wait for my good news at Ruyu House of Chenqiao Town.

He's asking you for 20 strong men?

Is Mo Lin going to break in forcefully?

Brother once told me, "Don't hire doubtful men and don't doubt your men."

If he wants 20 men, we'll give him 20 men.

But we're not in Kaifeng, where can we find that many men?

- You see, aren't they here? - Sangsang!

I heard you're in need of something.

I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help you.

Brother, it hasn't been half a month since you beat that man of Mountain and Sea Gang.

Your Pneuma of Strength has yet to recover and now you're going to see Miss Qin, are you looking for a beating?

I missed her once already, if I wait longer, I'll miss this second chance.

But you don't even know where she is, what if she is gone?

Then who else made a scene and posted the reward all over town?

Only the Wei Family has the money and the manpower to do that.

My guess is Miss Qin is giving out orders in the Wei Residence right now.

Fortunately, Master is not around these few days; I'll sweet-talk or force her, if necessary, into coming back with me,

and I'll ask her to bring us to see Wen Gecheng.

Brother.

Brother!

Lu Ping, where are you going?

I admit I was too strict with you, I promise I'll teach you well.

Even if afterward, you don't get the Pneuma of Strength, it's still good for strengthening your body.

Then will you let me eat something first?

- I'll eat with you. - I should go to the restroom first then.

That's good!

I can join you, too.

Eldest Senior, it's better if you keep ignoring me like you always do.

A loser like me isn't worth your time.

Master asked me to take care of you before he left.

He wants me to start a step by step beginning with your life first,

to help you cultivate good habits.

That might help improve your martial art skills as well.

Your place is too shabby.

How about I move over and stay with you for the night?

All right! Okay!

- Then, allow me to introduce the surroundings to you, Senior Brother. - Sure.

- Lu Ping! - I'll stop him.

- Senior Brother, you can't pass! - Lu Ping!

- Lu Ping! - Senior Brother! Senior Brother, something happened!

Jin Ruyu is really in trouble this time; those bandits went back for revenge and took her away.

[Wei Residence]

Sir, miss.

The young miss from the Qin Family has hired someone to look for that mysterious man.

[Situ Xing - Mountain and Sea Gang Traveler] They should be at Ruyu House of Chenqiao Town by now.

I was afraid my identity would be exposed.

Please handle the matter from here.

[Situ Luo - Mountain and Sea Gang Traveler]

Forget it! Your neck is too thick.

I'm not interested.

Let's go.

Sir.

[Wei Residence]

Why was I so greedy back in those days?

I took shelter with the Mountain and Sea Gang.

Now my business is thriving but I can never escape them!

However, it's no problem.

I can endure it as long as Tianqi is safe and sound.

I would sacrifice my life's work to the gang if necessary.

Master!

Master, Young Master hasn't returned for the past two days.

I'm afraid he's at Chenqiao Town with Miss Qin again.

I want everyone out there to find him!

Bring him back no matter what!

Here they come!

Stop!

Did you hit me for real?

Get lost!

Young Lord Zhao!

I'm right here.

I knew you would come and save me.

Brother, what's happening?

Let's remain here for now.

Let's see who he really is.

Wait!

God of Bandits, I respect you for being a good man.

You were being chivalrous to help the weak but you also robbed people.

You do good deeds but you never show who you are.

Is there a reason why you are hiding?

Who are you exactly?

It doesn't matter.

We both are like-minded, why can't you show yourself?

How did you get hurt?

It's nothing serious! The bandits did it.

I have no idea whom I had offended to become wanted.

Then why did you show up to help?

If she was taken away because of me, wouldn't I be a laughing stock?

Eldest Senior, It's true that someone in Chenqiao is giving out

a reward for people who capture the God of Bandits.

Eldest Senior, his brave deeds got him injured.

If we leave him like this, it's injustice.

It's my first time meeting the actual God of Bandits.

What a delicate young man!

Let me see! He's beautiful as well.

By the way, Young Lord Zhao, didn't you tell me last time that

you respect the God of Bandits a lot?

That you wouldn't mind even if he drew a turtle on your face?

Now that he's right in front of us.

He really is a young man!

What a hero!

How about this?

Since you're all here for the purpose of rescuing me,

come to Ruyu House to have a drink.

It's on me! Let's go.

Madam Jin, his injury can't wait.

If you don't mind, come to the Wind Taker Institute with me to get it treated.

This way!

I'll head back first then.

It turns out it's you.

This must be a trap.

A trap is aiming right at me.

Could that fraud be someone from Mountain and Sea Gang?

He doesn't seem to be one.

People from Mountain and Sea Gang are brutal.

They won't waste their time on setting a trap.

Brother, who exactly did you offend?

I don't know, either.

I can't do anything else but accept it.

Tonight.

[Ruyu House]

It hurts! Easy, easy!

Endure it please, Young Master.

Those guys at Wind Taker Institute should be careful.

If my act today hadn't been for Sangsang,

they would've got a taste of my fists!

Miss, the disciples of Wind Takers have taken Mo Lin back to the Wind Taker Institute.

Mo Lin is really as good as he said he is.

Sangsang, are you waiting for him for good news here?

Why don't I stay with you?

Why don't I get you a better room?

This one doesn't even have windows!

You deserve way better.

No need!

Ziyan, go get the door.

Young Master, Master instructed us to bring you home to Chan State after you're done playing around.

Sangsang and I are just catching up, I'm not done yet.

Young Master Wei, you are from the upper class, this place is too risky for you to stay.

Ziyan, you go with them, too.

Make sure Young Master Wei gets home safely.

Yes, miss.

Fine! I'll leave.

Sangsang, come back sooner.

I'll wait for you.

God of Bandits... I want you to have nowhere to go.

[Wind Taker Institute]

There's no one here.

Why should I roll around?

So you are here.

[The money I owe you...]

Master, I'm afraid I can't pay you back the money I owe you in the short run.

I'll definitely pay you back if we ever meet again.

Congratulations!

Sleep well! It'll be over once you wake up.

Don't run!

You run again?

You're really highly skilled.

You actually escaped my first attempt.

In the end, you still can't escape my backup plan, will you?

I knew it!

I never miss a target.

- How did you do it? - Isn't it magical?

I planted these worm grass here especially for you.

Its root can alternate the dirt.

As long as you fall into this kind of quicksand,

no matter how good your Pneuma of Strength is,

you can't escape easily.

You study these stuff because you don't have the Pneuma of Strength.

Don't you look down on me!

Even though I lack one Pneuma, it doesn't mean I can't make up for it.

I'm telling you! One day, I will become the world's number one assassin.

But, congratulations! I don't kill normal, unarmed people.

Consider your life saved today.

I'll tie you up and send you over to see Miss Qin at Ruyu House.

What are you laughing about?

Congratulations to you, too!

Consider your life saved today as well.

Your power... You're not just a skilled martial artist.

Who are you exactly?

I'm just a normal guy.

As for now, I'm going to bed.

Isn't that my money? Give it back! Give it back!

Think of it as my payment for spending the night with you.

As you know already, I'm short on money.

You must have some sort of secrets to make you hide over here.

Aren't you afraid I'll tell on you for doing this to me?

You can try.

Tell them! Lu Ping is the greatest martial artist

and see who'd believe you.

Besides, who knows when you can escape?

Brat! Come back!

Free me!

Ms. Qin, the mission has gone on to a wrong path.

I never thought Lu Ping is actually a tough rival.

Difficult situations are hard to describe in few words,

but I believe mankind can control his own destiny.

With my perseverance, I'm sure I can conquer the difficulties and accomplish the mission.

[Surpass Big Dippers']

The valiance of Wind Takers surpasses that of the Big Dippers!

The valiance of Wind Takers—

This man hides among the Wind Takers with a fake name.

He must be keeping some secrets.

I wrote him a letter, threatening him to meet me at the pavilion.

I plan on setting a mechanism with all I've got

and I'll brush the swords with a poison that seals your throat as soon as it touches blood.

He'll be a sitting duck and I surely will succeed; I shall give you the goods at Ruyu House tomorrow.

Even if I can't bring him to you alive, I'll still bring you his body.

Half the price will suffice! This is the end game of my dignity.

Either him or me!

Nonsense!

I asked for him, his dead body has no use.

If I go, it will just alert him.

If this man really is an expert of Mountain and Sea Gang,

Mo Lin might not be able to kill him.

But he is patiently going around in circles with Mo Lin.

Is there anything else he wants?

[I know who you really are. If you don't want to be exposed, meet me at Wind Taker Institute's pavilion today afternoon.]

Since we know he's up to no good, why don't you expose him?

Why are you allowing him to stay in our Wind Takers Institute?

It's fun to have him around.

I don't have the heart to expose him and I'm going to meet him now.

Brother, even if he's not a man from Mountain and Sea Gang, he can't be a good person.

Who else can he be?

I found this on the night I trapped him in the quicksand.

I haven't found Miss Qin yet but she already found me.

I think she is scheduled to meet with Mo Lin at Ruyu House.

Why is Miss Qin so determined to find you?

No idea! Perhaps, that night I impressed her with my outstanding elegance.

Either way, I just don't think it's safe.

What if she plotted against you with Mountain and Sea Gang?

The Qin family has always been the Generals of the Emperors.

Mountain and Sea Gang and they can never be related.

To find Wen Gecheng,

the easiest way is through the Qin Family.

So... You shouldn't keep going against her.

Why don't you just go sweet-talk her out and ask her to take you to Wen Gecheng?

With the mark of Mountain and Sea Gang, if I tell them our background,

how many will believe me?

And there's also a Zhao Xifan! He's guarding the gates all the time.

Then what should we do?

- So this guy, Mo Lin, is extremely useful. - How so?

Can we make use of the treasures we found before?

It has been so long... Why hasn't he shown up?

What if he's too much of a coward?

That's weird!

He is not Lu Ping.

[I know who you are. If you don't want to be exposed,]

[meet me at Wind Takers Institute's pavilion today afternoon.]

It's you?

Who are you? Say it! Why would you know who I am?

It hurts! Misunderstanding! It's all a misunderstanding.

How could I know who you are?

- Say it! - I'll say it.

I'll say it!

Who did this? Why is this happening?

This is the pavilion of the back hillside.

The reason why Mo Lin chose this spot, is probably because he'd use the terrain there.

He doesn't possess the Pneuma of Strength; thus, he will not fight me head-on.

If I were him, I would set traps in the pavilion.

With such a generous gift of his, I surely have to give him something in return.

And get rid of Zhao Xifan along the way.

Let's go, Brother! It'll be too late if we don't go to Ruyu House now.

Su Tang, you stay!

This is a matter of the imperial court and the officials.

It's too dangerous! You shouldn't be involved.

I'll come back for you once I discover the whereabouts of Wen Gecheng.

- Brother! - Don't worry!

I'll remember to buy some osmanthus candy for you.

You're not the God of Bandits, who on earth are you?

I'm not God of Bandits but I'm an assassin.

Quit acting! You don't possess the Pneuma of Strength.

Yet your bag is full of murderous mechanism.

From now on, I'll take you to the officials

if you lie to me one more time.

Don't! You can take me anywhere; just don't take me to the officials.

No assassin goes to jail.

Assassin? Who is your target exactly?

Forget it! I just want to survive.

I shouldn't have to sacrifice for this.

I really am an assassin.

[Money Reward]

- "God of Bandits"? Is he your target? - I'm here to kill Lu Ping.

What? Say that one more time!

[Ruyu House]

- Sir, this way, please! - This way, Sir.

Sir, the room on the second floor is taken today.

Please don't mind! Come.

- Take care, Young Lord! - Okay.

So you're the man from Mountain and Sea Gang!

Who knew that assassin's powder actually works?

Cui Hua, serve tea! Come and greet the guests.

Come in, my dear guests.

Ruyu House has the best wine in Chenqiao Town.

You won't be disappointed. Come!

Serve them well!

Right here, my dear guests.

Her neck is whiter than mine. I like it!

Chief said business comes first.

What's the rush? Let's have a drink first.

Young Lord Wei, weren't we heading to Chan State? Why did we come back?

I'm fine with Wei Ming messing around with authority, but Wei Hu and others even tried to imitate him.

I will not be at their mercy.

Miss Qin specifically said not to disturb her, please don't make this difficult for me.

Kid, you don't want to help me? Fine! But don't ruin my fun.

Otherwise, I'll tell on you to Sangsang.

Let's see if she'll protect you or go along with it on my behalf.

Young Lord, what exactly are you up to?

You'll see when the time comes.

I've been planning this for so long, I will definitely impress her.

Let me go!

I heard the Qins have outstanding achievements in wars.

His Majesty even gave your family three golden tokens.

You can do anything with it.

Of course, only you, Miss Qin, can possess such a token.

Your guy is good! The powder works like magic.

What a shame!

You killed Mo Lin?

Mo Lin was going to kill me with it.

I heard one drop can kill the entire Wind Taker Institute.

Tell me! And the antidote is yours.

What do you want to know?

Tell me where Wen Gecheng lives.

- Is Mountain and Sea Gang going for Sir Wei as well? - So you do know him.

Where can I find him?

I'd never make deals with the Mountain and Sea Gang.

I'd rather die than embarrass my family.

Leader, do you think our prey is here yet?

We'll find out upstairs.

If I say I'm not from Mountain and Sea Gang and that I just need your help,

do you believe it?

Then why are you torturing me?

Didn't you try to kill me, too?

Besides, torture is the only way I know.

Hand me the antidote first to show your sincerity.

You hit me! Don't go!

You hit me!

This is bad! What is Xing Luo doing here?

Not good! My Pneuma of Strength can't be used now.

I can't handle them! I have to leave.

If I leave now, she will die for sure.

I'm taking you with me, they're here.

It's Xing Luo, an assassin of Mountain and Sea Gang.

You don't need to play nice, I'm poisoned anyways.

I can fight until the end with them.

I gave you the water I used to wash my face, you would have diarrhea, but there's no need for an antidote.

Su Tang? Let's go!

You... Are you two with those bandits?

A man and a woman threatened me to hide them.

They looked like bandits to me, I wouldn't budge, so they left.

How much money do you want? I'll give it all to you.

Please don't hurt me.

Little sister, if you dare lie to us,

you'll lose your life.
