The Moon Brightens for You

Episode 9

Practice, practice,

everyone else is searching the mountains,

and I'm still practicing here.

Ma'am,

when can you stop tripping yourself?

Never going to happen,

but maybe someone will catch me

Keep dreaming.

Qinghong,

Uncle Xiahou,

Qinghong,

what you did to catch the bowl was impressive.

Uncle Xiahou,

Have some tea.

This is quite a unique way

to offer somebody tea.

It's empty.

Xiao Lan, what's going on?

Good thing it's empty,

otherwise you'd be soaked.

Well, General Xiahou, Sir Wen,

I'll get you some tea.

Naughty.

Uncle Xiahou,

how's the investigation going?

When can I join you?

You'll get an opportunity soon,

that's why you should focus on practicing.

Improve your kungfu,

improve your swordsmanship.

Why the long face?

The day only started.

Because of the practice obviously.

Uncle Xiahou,

why are you giving us such a hard time?

We've suffered enough.

I want my sword back.

No rush,

first of all,

tell me how you feel about the sword.

The heavy sword is not as sharp,

maybe you can't hack someone to death with it,

but you can smash them to death.

The light sword is very flexible,

many attacking techniques are available,

even though it's not my perfect fit,

I can feel

the power of this sword

is no less than the heavy one.

Very good.

The advantages of the swords

are exactly the disadvantages of you.

The heavy sword

hefty and sharpened,

it's easier to be strong and sturdy,

but Zisu,

if you keep going like this,

you'll become stubborn,

you'll lose your flexibility.

Your weakness will be exposed,

then you'll lose.

Qinghong,

you use light swords,

you rely too much on your steps,

if you met with someone

with simple but masterful skills,

you will be defeated.

From now on,

Wen You,

you'll practice with the light sword,

taking advantage of the sword,

until you can display the spirit of the sword,

majestic like a dragon.

What about me?

Qinghong,

try the light sword techniques on the heavy sword,

when you can perfect those techniques

on a heavy sword,

touching a flower without damaging it,

then you're there.

Thank you for the advice, Uncle Xiahou.

This is Bolting Swordsmanship,

my senior apprentice Jian Lin invented it,

one and only.

He is traveling around Wulin,

nowhere to be found.

From now on,

you can practice

with this swordsmanship.

Uncle Xiahou,

you're favoring me,

you're giving me the only copy,

I'm flattered.

Don't worry,

I'll give it to you once I'm done.

Zisu is helping Wenxuan these days,

he's very busy,

Qinghong,

if you got the time,

why don't you make a copy for him?

I'll go search the mountains,

thanks for the efforts,

please, Qinghong,

make it fast,

so that I can have a reference when I practice.

I can do that,

but the speed

depends on my mood.

Qinghong,

Don't do that.

Why are you here?

Nothing really.

Director, tea.

Being nice without a motive?

don't try to be coy,

go ahead.

I don't even know Kungfu,

why are you giving me a swordsmanship?

Director,

you're smart,

you must know that

I'm asking you to make a copy for me.

I make the copy?

then what's your job?

I'll improve my kungfu,

after my improvement,

I can protect you even better.

So,

I should thank you, Hand Zhan?

Don't mention it.

As a gift in return,

how about I'll give you

a nickname?

I knew you're smart,

I happen to need a nickname.

At the ceremony,

your swordsmanship is so handsome,

you looked like a fairy,

and you showed the cloud swordsmanship,

impressed the entire audience,

how about....

Cloud fairy?

cloud fairy,

fairy,

great name,

I am Cloud fairy from now on.

Thank you for the name.

Wenxuan,

Uncle Xiahou,

Uncle Xiahou,

I really can't investigate with you?

Director,

let's chat.

I just told you,

your priority is to improve your kungfu.

I just told you,

and you already forgot?

Alright.

The swordsmanship.

I'll leave you to it.

Wen Xuan,

what happened to wishful gate

is not that simple.

We have to find

seven-star swordsmanship fast.

Ok,

that's what I wanted to do.

How about today?

Housemaster Su,

let's get going.

Deputy director, please.

Sir Wen.

What's the matter?

The princess sent a message,

please follow me right now

to meet the princess at the palace.

But I have to search the mountains.

Princess has said,

she has some leads about golden flower,

and she wants to discuss with you.

How come she knows about this?

Why does Huayao have any leads

on golden flower?

Go ahead and follow her,

see what princess has to say.

But we have the task to search the mountains.

I'll take my men,

you can join us when you got back.

Ok.

Go.

Guys, you ready to go?

Yes, we are.

Senior Su,

why are you here?

Where is Wen You going?

Deputy director was summoned by someone,

I was going to notify the director,

and ask him to send me someone else.

Senior Su,

we're just walking around like this?

Kiddo,

you should go back.

Why?

You just decided to join us,

what if the director found out?

What if I got scolded?

What if....

Don't worry,

if the director found out,

I'll take the blame,

you'll be fine.

But what if something happened?

Look at your tiny body....

Can't you think of something better?

The guards are searching other mountains,

you can't handle this by yourself,

one more person, one more helper.

No.

You're really not sharing?!

So you have more?!

Senior Su,

we're just walking around like this?

Aimlessly?

When is the end?

This is too stupid.

Too stupid.

Not the best way.

This is how it's done,

not walking around?

Do you know how to fly or something?

Senior Su,

you're so smart.

I can't fly,

but they can.

Look!

What are they doing?

Harvesting honey.

Exactly!

If there's flower, there's honey,

that's just a fact, right?

Hand Zhan, you mean....

More flower, more honey.

More honey?

You mean....

The murderer uses golden flower as a sign,

golden flowers are her weapon,

but the golden flower

is not from here.

So she must have planted

plenty of golden flowers around here.

If we found the flowers,

we are very likely to find the murderer.

The bees

will lead to golden flowers!

Correct!

Kiddo,

you are smart,

smart as a whip!

I am impressed.

Here, you can have all of them.

Come on,

you two team up,

follow the bees,

look for golden flowers.

Yes.

Senior Su,

let's team up.

Ok, I'll protect you.

Let's go, Senior Su.

Princess.

Brother Zisu.

you want to talk about

golden flowers?

Yes.

How do you know about golden flowers?

Even though I'm at the palace,

I get news from all over,

nothing can slip away from me.

So,

you have leads about golden flower?

Follow me.

Brother Zisu,

do you like it?

Princess,

what is this?

I prepared this for you,

Golden flower chimes,

doesn't it look beautiful

and sound beautiful as well?

This is what you meant by

leads on golden flower?

If I didn't say that

you wouldn't be here.

Princess....

Brother Zisu,

the affairs of Wulin

will be handled by Wulin people.

If there's death,

Sagacity Temple will get involved.

Isn't it nice to be here with me

enjoying the flowers and tea?

I have work to tend to,

pardon me.

Goodbye.

Brother Zisu,

how much don't you want to hang out with me?

Please pardon me,

but right now,

I'm in no mood

for entertainment.

You have interrupted me,

you have hold up something very important.

I know you're busy with work,

that's why I prepared all these,

I just wanted to make you happy.

You're telling me off instead of thanking me.

Princess,

the golden flower case is in crucial state,

I'm trying to save lives.

It's not my intention

to disappoint you.

If I have offended you,

Please forgive me.

It's exactly because it's a murder case,

I didn't want you to be in danger,

I worry that

if something happened to you

what then?

Princess,

Director and the hand,

alliances of Wulin,

they are all trying to investigate,

we are trying to bring back justice,

make the murderer pay.

They aren't worried about their lives,

I am a man,

how can I be scared?

How can I be hiding from it?

All you have said

is that you want to be with her.

Princess!

I don't know what you mean,

it's an urgent matter,

excuse me.

Brother Zisu,

everybody stop!

Amitābha.

Please come this way.

General Xiahou, please wait here.

Director,

Master Yuanhui is waiting for you inside.

Wen Xuan,

I'll wait outside,

don't worry.

Please.

This is swordsmanship.

Master,

Director Lin,

Seven-star swordsmanship

can only be viewed by directors,

I have never taken a look at it.

Is it possible that someone got hold of it?

No.

the last person who touched it

is your father,

Lin Xiaotian.

All the causes,

the truths,

I'm afraid,

can only be found by you.

This,

this is it.

These houses look new,

the people from wishful gate

must be in there.

Kiddo,

we should wait for back-up,

it'd be less risky.

I'll take a look,

it's right in front of us,

we're not expected,

it's a good opportunity.

Kiddo, let me.

Are you from wishful gate?

We're here to rescue you.

Rescue?

Thank you for helping us,

my husband will be very grateful.

You are Lady Lu?

Yes.

This is not a place for chatting,

let's get out of here.

Let's go.

You're the one who snatched the wishful gate people?

That's me.

Lady,

I have nothing against you,

and I don't want to hurt innocent people,

leave the people I want,

and you,

should go back where you come from.

So confident,

take this!

Mister,

watch out for her hidden weapons.

Ok.

Kiddo, I'll help.

Senior Su,

Damn.

You killed him.

How about I do you a favor

and send you with him?

Su Batian,

Su Batian,

Senior Su,

Kiddo,

I can't keep my words anymore,

I can't protect you anymore.

You're a good kid,

do a good job protecting director.

Senior Su,

you kept your word,

you've been protecting me.

I saved the cake for you.

Su Batian,

Senior Su,

Senior Su,

don't fall asleep, wake up.

Senior Su,

Senior Su,

Qinghong,

Wen You.

Senior Su,

Senior Su,

Senior Su,

That is exactly

what had happened.

Patriarch Su

lost his life rescuing the people

from wishful gate.

All the hostages that were hidden

in Red valley

were all rescued.

What about Lady Lu?

the devil woman took Lady Lu,

we don't know what happened to her.

Yanzhi,

take care of Patriarch Su's funeral.

Yes, Sir.

Qinghong,

go home and have a rest.

Where is Su Batian?

His body

was brought back by his people.

Qinghong,

don't blame yourself,

Wen You, you should go,

I'm fine.

Ok,

sleep well.

We'll talk about it tomorrow.

Ma'am, you're back.

Lady Zhan,

before this,

I've thought of you as a kid,

I didn't know you're brave and smart,

if you didn't sacrifice yourself,

I wouldn't have made it through the game.

I owe you

a big favor

Don't mention it.

I am a redneck,

but I know hatred and gratitude,

I looked down on you before,

but starting now,

I promise

after the competition,

no matter what the result is,

as long as I'm alive,

I will be protecting you.

I won't let anyone to hurt you.

I am a redneck too,

the past is in the past,

it never happened.

we're friends now.

Ok.

I saved the cake for you.

We've prepared your favorite,

teriyaki pork leg,

eat it while it's warm.

Ma'am, what's wrong?

You haven't eaten anything all day.

Ma'am,

Ma'am,

Xiao Lan,

Sir Wen,

Ma'am hasn't eaten anything all day,

and she's not talking to me.

What should I do?

Don't worry,

let me talk to her.

Please, Sir Wen,

Leave us.

Qinghong.

Leave me alone.

Ok,

I'll just sit here,

you can pretend I don't exist.

You don't have to accompany me.

You can be by yourself,

but when is the end?

So I can be mentally prepared

for how long I should be worried.

But,

but Su Batian

can't prepare anymore.

It's not your fault.

It is my fault.

It's my fault,

if I didn't take him

to find golden flowers,

he wouldn't die.

I know you're sad,

but don't turn down

my care for you.

Wen You,

I'm so sad.

Let's go take a walk.

Qinghong,

Idiot.

Qinghong,

Fallen flowers carry meanings,

flowing water is cold blooded.

Wulin is cold-blooded.

you're the hand beside Lin Fang,

you have to face a lot of challenges,

you have to learn

to accept the cruelty.

You have to learn to be strong,

learn to accept,

learn to accept deaths.

That way you can be born again,

then you can walk the Wulin with ease.

Sir, what's wrong?

Sir,

this blood spot has moved up half an inch,

your accelerated heart-ache

must be related to this.

Why are you here?

Those bastards are here again.

Patriarch Lu is here too.

I'll get rid of them,

you take some rest.

Patriarch Lu is here too?

Yes,

Lady Lu is not rescued,

the killer is not found,

Su Batian is dead from it,

Yeah,

now people are all paranoid.

Young people are not accountable.

Director,

I heard you saved my family,

I know that

my wife was not rescued,

but you are trying everything

to save my house,

I'm forever grateful.

I will serve you

to pay you back.

Please accept this.

You don't have to do this,

bring justice to Wulin,

it is my duty as the director.

Patriarch Lu.

director is trying his best to investigate,

why are you trying to kill him?

I am sorry, director,

but Fang Gu said

she'll only let Lu Xu go

if I killed the director.

I..

The wishful gate case is very complicated,

since that's the case,

deputy director,

go notify the eight houses,

in three days,

I will have an answer for everyone.

Husband,

It is great news

that you're safe now.

Husband,

Director Lin sent people to rescue me.

Thank you for saving her life.

Please rise.

Husband,

why did you do such a silly thing for me?

It's my fault.

No,

I'm to blame,

it's my fault for all of this.

Three years ago,

Fang Gu and I

met at lake Qinhuai,

it was love at first sight,

we committed to each other.

If you lost it,

there's no reason for us to live.

I will cherish it.

But fate has a different idea,

me and Li Xu,

we were arranged to marry when we're kids,

the wedding is around the corner,

it cannot be canceled.

After Fang Gu found out about this,

she left me.

Shortly after that,

I married Li Xu,

but later

I found out

by accident

that Fang Gu is an assassin from Xi yan,

we had a fight,

You're from Xi yan?

Yes,

I am indeed an assassin from Xi Yan,

now that you found out,

you can kill me if you want.

Plus white tiger clan has been exposed,

there's no place for me in the east,

are you willing to come with me?

to Xi Yan?

Go to Xi yan with you?

give up everything?

You don't want to give up wishful gate

or your wife?

I get it,

Patriarch Lu,

you and Fang Gu are just pawns,

there must be someone

behind Fang Gu.

But this person is really sneaky,

blamed everything on other people,

What?

This person forces Fang Gu to kidnap your wife,

forced you to kill the director,

even if you told the truth,

the public will still believe that

Fang Gu is the culprit.

If we want to catch this guy,

we need Lady Lu's help,

lure Fang Gu out,

make the real killer

show himself.

They say women are bad news,

who knows men

can cause all these dramas too.

Everything happens for a reason.

We make our own decisions.

Can't blame other people.

You three are all trap in the sentiments,

if it was me,

I would never done something like this.

If Qinghong had such a problem,

what would you do?

If it was me..

If my love cheated on me,

I'll find him,

beat his ass,

then shave his head,

lastly take his clothes off

tattoo two words on his chest,

cheating bastard.

then leave like a bad-ass.

Never see him again.

Why are you pointing at me?

I'm not the cheating kind,

If you were Lu Ming,

patents' orders on one hand,

true love on the other,

what would you do?

You're just stirring the pot.

Come on, do tell.

Just focus on your swordsmanship,

otherwise you'll going to lose again

when we compete next time.

You'll going to cry.

I am a kungfu genius,

I have already gained insights on Bolting swordsmanship.

I will beat you to pieces,

and when you lose,

you have to be my servant,

you,

we'll talk if you win.

Director,

help, director.

Help.

Help?

in need for kungfu?

you should find Wen You.

In need for medical advice?

you should find Wen Rou,

I can't even fight a chicken,

why do you need my help?

Because you have more ideas.

Whatever you say.

Director,

you know that

the match between me and Wen You is around the corner,

I know.

But I'm not his match.

I thought you said that

you're going to beat him into pieces.

Fine,

I did brag,

but my dad told me,

when you're out in the world,

you have to have the confidence.

Director,

I don't know kungfu,

but I have the knowledge.

Wen You used a heavy sword,

that requires strength,

now he uses a light sword,

it requires flexibility,

but people don't change their habits.

You are smart.

I still don't understand.

You want to defeat Wen You, right?

Of course!

Then use the light sword techniques

with a heavy sword.

Thank you, director.

Hey,

did I get in the way

of brother Zisu's work?

is he going to ignore me now?

Princess is royal,

it's Sir Wen's fault for not appreciating you.

How dare you insulting him!

Princess,

Princess,

I heard the news,

Sir Wen impressed everyone yesterday,

he caught the guy that killed all those people,

now the public

cannot think more highly of him.

Really?

Fortunately I didn't mess things up yesterday.

Ok,

you can get up now,

I forgive you.

Thank you.

Brother Zisu,

still the best

even walking among Wulin people.

Wherever he goes,

he's the brightest star.

However,

the one who's always next to him- Zhan Qinghong,

I hate her.

Princess and Sir Wen are childhood sweethearts,

she's just some country woman,

Sir Wen is not going to like her,

you're over-thinking.

What do you know,

at the ceremony,

the way he looked at her,

it was not appropriate.

How about

asking Sir Wen directly?

Ask him how you feel about you,

you'll get an answer.

I am the princess,

asking how a man feel about me?

That's not proper.

Don't worry,

I..

I have an idea,

we can probe around.

Princess,

we can use bakery as an excuse,

send two cakes to family Wen,

but use different packaging,

the one for Sir Wen,

we can do something about it.

What do you mean?

We just need to

put a note in it.

Ok,

let's do that.

Patriarch Lu

did not do something like this!

It must be

a misunderstanding.

I saw it with my own eyes.

how can it be a misunderstanding.

Everyone,

let's wait,

let's see what director is going to do about it.

Don't be agitated.

We'll talk about it

when the director gets here.

Director.

Please.

Bring out Lu Ming.

Three days ago,

because of what happened to wishful gate,

Lu Ming was here for his missing people.

he came to the director for help.

but truth is,

he tried to kill the director.

Lu Ming,

what do you plead?

I plead guilty.

Patriarch Lu,

have you done you wrong?

why did you do that?

I was forced into it.

Who forced you?

Fang Gu.

The assassin from Xi Yan.

What?

Xi Yan assassin?

Xi Yan people?

Yeah.

An assassin?

Is it a Wulin affair?

Related to Xi Yan?

Lu Ming,

you worked with the enemy!

Patriarch Lu,

you are aware of what you said

can be seen as treason?

Yes.

but the truth is

I had no choice.

She kidnapped Li Xu,

she forced me to kill you,

I...

I just wanted to protect my wife.

I had no other options.

Please forgive me.

Lu Ming.

You're a disgrace!

Xi Yan people are so despicable,

how dare they coming to our land!

Kill this bastard!

Kill the traitor.

Kill him, kill him.

People,

Kill him, kill him.

Everyone,

please,

the director

will decide.

Director,

there's nothing to say

to this traitor.

Everyone will be happy if he's dead.

How about

I'll do it.

Housemaster Ji,

why are you trying to bury the evidence by killing him?

Director,

what do you mean burying evidence?

I am getting rid of a degenerate

for Wulin.

Even if that's the conviction,

it's not your place to sentence him.

What is this?

Director, what is this?

The imperial court should not

engage in Wulin affairs.

Indeed, the imperial court shouldn't intervene,

Fang Gu is an Xi Yan assassin,

that means someone is spying on Jun'an,

I'm the guard for Jun'an,

is it a problem

that I am here?

Not a problem,

you guys work perfectly together.

Director,

Even though I was forced,

I did work with an Xi Yan assassin,

and we had a complicated history,

that's the reason for the wishful gate tragedy,

I dragged everybody down,

I'm willing to apologize with my death,

However,

please rescue my wife!

Patriarch Lu,

your wife's safety

is on my conscience.

now,

let's ask the most senior person of Wulin

Lord Gu

to decide your fate.
