The Moon Brightens for You

Episode 10

Even though I was forced,

I did work with an Xi Yan assassin,

and we had a complicated history,

I'm willing to apologize with my death,

However, director,

please rescue my wife!

Patriarch Lu

your wife's safety

is on my conscience.

now,

let's ask the most senior person of Wulin

Lord Gu

to decide your fate.

Lord Gu,

kill the bastard!

Kill him, kill him, kill him.

Lord Gu,

what's the hesitation?

Do you have something you're not telling us?

Is that why you can't sentence someone

who worked with enemy to kill the director?

Such a disgrace for Wulin,

he deserves to die.

Don't move,

Fang Gu,

Give in.

Gu Yue,

you betrayed us,

you want to kill Lu Ming to bury the evidence!

Where did you come from, you crazy woman?

I don't even know you!

What?

You saw that Xi Yan is going down,

now you don't want anything to do with us?

Rubbish!

Working with Xi Yan,

that's treason!

If you have

no evidence,

don't you dare

trying to drag me down!

What, Lord Gu?

You colluded with white tiger clan,

do you want me

to show everybody here

all the things you have done?

Your identity as an Xi Yan person

has been exposed,

and you just want me down with you.

Ask around,

am I that kind of person?!

Yeah.

Not possible.

Yeah.

Lord Gu has mercy and integrity,

I don't believe that

he can do such a thing.

Mercy and integrity.

Lord Gu,

do you insist that

Fang Gu is framing you.

Right?

Lin Fang,

I've lived Wulin for decades,

and I've never done anything shameful,

Really?

Everyone,

do not be fooled

by this Xi Yan assassin,

Without evidence,

if you can't prove it,

I will do anything I can

to condemn you!

You want evidence?

Look

I testify that

I was kidnapped by Fang Gu,

and her ally

is Gu Yue.

You!

Really?

It's true.

You three colluded,

did such a shameful deed,

you're ganging up on me!

What?

Is Xi Yan

trying to sabotage Wulin?

Gu Yue,

not only did you try to deny it,

you also try to guilt me.

Stop arguing,

I can testify my father's crimes.

You.

What.

Seems true.

Really.

It's true.

Li Xu were almost rescued by Wulin,

fortunately I got her back.

Now what should we do?

Simple,

you just need to force Lu Ming

to kill the director.

Then,

he will become the enemy of Wulin,

and,

he will be hunted by the entire Wulin,

he will have no choice

but run away with you,

living in some hideout.

Ok.

I got it.

At this moment,

the priority is to find Lady Lu,

the killer kidnapped Lady Lu,

she must want to use it against Lu Ming,

force him to do something.

Wen Xuan,

The wishful gate case

is a Wulin matter,

plus no one notified the court,

the court can't get involved.

But I'll try my best to find Li Xu,

Director,

someone is here to see you.

Gu Yan,

Wen Xuan.

This is Lady Lu,

Lady Lu,

this is director Lin,

Lady Lu,

sorry for the suffering.

Thank you for rescuing me,

director and Sir Gu

is the reason I'm standing here.

Lady Lu,

do you know who captured

you and your people?

Her name is Fang Gu,

she and my husband

had a history.

Fang Gu,

Wen Xuan,

you have to be careful,

my father is working with Fang Gu,

they sent Lu Ming to kill you.

Lady Lu,

please tell us

what exactly happened.

Please take a seat.

I've escorted her here safely,

I should go.

Gu Yan,

did you take Lady Lu

from fort Gu?

Yes.

Sorry, Wen Xuan,

I didn't know that father

could do such a thing,

You handed me Lady Lu,

what's going to happen to you?

Don't worry,

father is not going to do anything to me,

I know father is at fault this time,

but please consider our brotherhood,

give him a lighter sentence,

If it's not treason,

I will.

I just don't want you to be hurt.

The one who hurt me

is not you.

Wen Xuan,

you're now the director,

do as a director should do.

How dare you colluding with outsiders

trying to destroy your own father?

Father,

you have to stop this.

Rubbish!

He's sick,

he's mentally ill,

he ran away from home.

This is the golden flower Fang Gu left at our house,

if I was lying,

where did I get this?

Yan,

Yan,

It's true.

Lin Fang, you bastard,

the student has become the master.

you even get my own son

to obey to you.

You're ruining your own father!

Your own father!

Gu Yue,

I knew that you're ambitious,

but who would've thought

you could do such an ugly thing!

At the Wulin competition,

you forced me to kill director Lin

to help your son to take the title,

you have no morals!

Ji Xiaoran,

you scum!

Director,

I am willing to testify

to prove Gu's hypocrisy.

You are just like him,

stop attacking each other,

Lord Gu,

do you have anything to say?

Gu Yue,

you conspired with Xi Yan,

tried to kill the director,

sabotaged Wulin,

do you plead guilty?

Pretext is useless when conviction is already made.

accepting the law?

You are the ones who should be sentenced!

It should be you!

Gu Yue, let her go.

It's already at this point,

you're still worried about her.

Li Xu,

don't move,

I won't go easy

on anybody who made a move.

Fang Gu,

I'm begging you,

help Li Xu,

it's all my fault,

she's innocent,

I'm begging you.

Right from the start,

you never cared about me.

I,

fine,

if that's what you want.

Fang Gu,

Fang Gu,

Lu,

you were always

in my heart.

Take care.

Fang Gu,

Fang Gu,

Lord Gu,

now,

do you have anything else to say?

Lin Fang,

you ungrateful scum,

you destroyed me,

you ruined my reputation.

This is not over!

Take Gu Yue to the jail,

investigate

the facts about his collusion with Xi Yan.

Then we'll make a decision.

We'll let you decide.

Jade has hidden meanings,

how much sentiments can it be?

jade fades without words,

red flowers represent my heart.

What does it the poem mean?

how can it test

how Sir Wen feel about princess?

Look,

jade fades without words.

Jade is green,

If Sir Wen

chose the green cake,

that means

he has no feelings for princess.

What about the other sentence?

The next sentence is

Red flowers represent my heart.

If

Sir Wen chose the red

that would mean

Princess and Sir Wen feel the same about each other,

they're in sync.

That's what it meant.

You,

send these to house Wen right now.

Yes, princess.

Lady Wen,

princess has taken on baking,

she made these cakes,

and she wants you and Sir Wen to

be the judge.

Ok.

Princess knows that you have different preferences,

so she made two boxes.

the black one is for you,

the red one is for Sir Wen.

Lady Wen,

remember,

the red one is for Sir Wen,

do not mix it up.

Wen You,

I've been waiting for this day,

today,

I am putting an end to this.

Are you sure you want to end it?

what if I don't want an end with you?

What then?

Be serious,

I'm talking about kungfu.

So Qinghong

doesn't want an end with me either,

Fine,

bring it on.

Wen You,

today,

I must win.

I won.

Light sword techniques with a heavy sword.

Which master taught you this?

No need to chat,

you lost,

remember,

you're forever my servant.

You,

Wen You,

have to follow my orders.

Fine, fine.

I'm forever your servant,

what do you want?

Hold on,

I want to have the cloud cake from the ceremony

within two hours.

That's a tricky task,

at this time of the hour,

where am I supposed to get the cake?

I don't care,

if you couldn't get them,

you won't be a servant,

you will be a puppy.

Woof.

You have to get the cake even as a puppy,

don't come back without it.

Xiao Rou,

do you know how to make cloud cake?

That's an imperial specialty,

how would I know?

What are these?

Cakes sent by the princess.

This is fate.

I'm taking one.

Great.

Cang Wu sent back the message,

the rumors are true,

the two houses from the region,

house green-dragon and house Yixuan,

one is play monopoly,

one took the mountains for mines,

two houses have been fighting,

and it has brought many complaints from the public.

The culprit Cang Wu

cannot even be handled by the court.

They were invited to the competition,

but they didn't show up.

Looks like

it's time to do something.

Wen Xuan,

What's wrong?

Please don't sentence father to death.

Gu Yan,

Lord Gu has made a huge mistake,

the whole Wulin knows it.

It's not just my decision.

I know,

if you want him dead,

you would've done it when you arrested him.

You put him under house arrest,

is it because

you want to find out the truth about your father?

That is my intention.

But...

I can try to convince him,

I'll convince him to tell the truth.

Father,

Don't call me that,

I don't have a son

that would destroy his own family.

Go tell Lin Fang,

don't think that

that I can be trapped

with a dose of weaken infusion.

Kill me if he can!

Father,

if you're willing to change...

you betrayed me,

betrayed our family.

Now,

you're lobbying his politics?

Father,

you're just confused.

He's the one who's confused.

What if

he is the director now?

He is still a loser!

All these years

the five-stone infusion I've given him,

it's not going to be a waste.

What are you saying?

Why did Lin Fang send you here?

He wants to find out why his father died, right?

Father,

what happened that year?

Gu Yan, Gu Yan,

your family name is Gu,

not Lin.

What perks did he give you?

Why are you so loyal to him?

Father,

I'm trying to save you.

Wen Xuan promised me,

if you told the truth

he won't give you a hard time.

You believe whatever he says,

but not a word I say.

All these years,

in order for you to become the director,

how much effort have I put into it?

Now you're helping an outsider,

I spent so much time on you,

why are you like this?

In order for me to become the director,

you've given Lin Fang five-stone infusion for years.

What about uncle Lin Xiaotian?

Did you kill him?

Lin Fang,

I know you're listening,

you want to know

how did your father die, right?

I'm not telling you.

Father,

I'm begging you,

just tell the truth.

Get out.

Father.

Father,

Get out.

Father.

Get out.

Get out.

Father,

Get out.

Get out.

I don't want to see you again.

Get out.

Get out.

Yan,

don't.

Yan,

Yan.

Qinghong.

Be gentle,

are you a servant

or a puppy today?

I think it's better to be a servant,

not easy to be a puppy.

Here,

look.

Are these upgraded cloud cakes?

These are called Jade-rainbow cakes.

Seven flavors.

Go ahead.

So delicious,

I almost bit my tongue.

Didn't know you're this serious,

this is a lot of notes.

Yep,

otherwise how can I beat you?

This is so yum,

I'm saving this for mum and dad,

this for senior apprentice,

this for second senior,

this is for the junior,

this is for uncle Xiahou,

this one is blue,

that's Xiao Lan,

Lin Fang,

he seems to be above everything,

naturally,

nothing for him.

This peach flavored is so good.

Wen You

where did you get such amazing deserts?

You didn't steal them, did you?

Stealing from the palace?

that's a huge crime!

What are you talking about?

This is from the princess.

I don't want it anymore,

you can't eat it either.

We grew up together,

we're like brother and sister,

you don't have to be mad.

I'm not mad,

fine,

I'll eat it.

Do you want some?

No?

I'll eat it then.

You,

how dare you!

Peach flavored cake,

so good.

This peach-flavored is mine.

Fine,

look at your poor face,

I'll give you half.

Give me.

Director,

Gu Yue,

did he confess?

Gu Yue doesn't want to bring up the past,

he must be hiding something.

Seems like he's covering for someone.

Considering what happened,

Gu Yue must have allies,

the most possible

is Zhan Podi.

They have both fought that battle

alongside with former director.

Plus,

Plus Zhan Podi fled the battle,

and he's been hiding ever since.

There must be something.

Sir,

I have something,

I'm not sure if I should say it.

You mean Qinghong?

Yes.

Even though Hand Zhan is passionate,

Zhan Podi

is still a suspect.

You should stay away from her,

furthermore,

Hand Zhan and deputy director are together,

what's the point of you getting close to her?

I am trying to avoid her already.

Lin Fang,

Lin Fang,

Sister Yanzhi,

you are here.

Hand Zhan,

what's the matter?

I'm here to bring you cakes,

Where is it?

I ate them all...

Are you trying to be funny?

No, no,

Wen You brought some cakes earlier,

I was going to share with everybody,

but they're too yummy, so....

Director, bad news.

Lost smoke.

Wen Xuan,

I let my father go,

you can blame me.

All these years,

my father has hidden things from me,

I didn't know you were suffering,

I'm sorry, Wen Xuan,

It's too late for saying this.

I know my father is unforgivable.

He's evil.

but he is still my father,

I can't just watch him die.

My father's crime,

I will take the responsibility.

Your father's crime

is your father's responsibility.

It has nothing to do with you.

Plus,

we're brothers,

how can I blame you.

Wen Xuan,

you know when was

the happiest time of my life?

It was when we were kids,

goofing around,

not a care in the world.

plus you were younger,

and you were always sick,

so I took extra care for you,

I cherished you,

I wanted you to think of family Gu

as your own family.

little did I know

that family Gu

actually means agony for you.

I,

Gu Yan,

Yanzhi,

no need,

it's too late.

Wen Xuan,

I've always considered you my baby brother.

Uncle,

Fang,

hang out with Gu Yan,

I

have to go.

Lin Fang,

we're brothers now,

let's go play.

I remember,

I will always remember,

you gave me your hand,

you called me brother.

Me too,

but I don't think

you have ever called me brother.

Brother.

you will always be my brother.

Brother.

Brother.

Brother,

Brother,

Brother,

Brother,

Brother,

Sir,

Sir,

the blood line is getting longer,

What?

Is it serious?

Sir,

it's my mistake,

I thought the blood spots

are just a reaction to the detoxing,

but now I think

it's a sign of poisoning.

Poison?

How come

there's no symptoms?

Judging from the pulses,

the toxins were hidden in the veins,

maybe the shock you had today

has triggered it.

Is it something Gu Yue did?

Find out what's the cause.

I'll go back to double flower to investigate,

Sir,

you take care of yourself.

Ok,

try to be discreet,

do not alert other people.

Ma'am,

you've taken 68 laps,

if you're really worried,

just go take a look.

You are right,

uncle Xiahou,

the death of Gu Yan

is not on you.

We tracked down Gu Yue,

he ran to Cang Wu,

Then let's go to Cang Wu,

Sure,

the Cang Wu matter

has been a pain of the court.

if we could stabilize Cang Wu this time,

and capture Gu Yue,

then it is good new to the court,

to Wulin,

and to you.

It will be very beneficial.

Three birds with one stone.

You should rest and take care of your body.

Lin Fang.

What are you doing here?

You should be practicing.

I can't just keep practicing,

I'm here to help you.

Who says I need help?

Stop pretending,

you have something on your mind,

I've been there,

I know that you're having a tough time,

here,

I brought you something.

Vases did nothing wrong,

I'm not going to

take it out on them.

Then, then use it to....

I'm not crying into it either.

You're so high-maintenance.

Seems like

I have to use my ultimate weapon.

Eat this,

you'll be guaranteed to cry your eyes out,

crying is

the best medicine.

Why do you care about me?

I am your hand,

who else is going to care about you?

Plus,

I know how you feel,

I have nautical-brothers,

if they died in front of me,

I will want to die with them.

Brother,

where are you going?

I'm following the director

to Cang Wu,

father and mother,

please take care of them.

Ok, I will.

Take care of yourself.

I'm leaving,

you're not even saying goodbye?

I have some new medicine books to read.

Are the books more important than me?

Books.

Wait,

is General Xiahou going as well?

Xiao Rou,

do you care about your brother at all?

Why are you asking about the general?

Brother Zisu,

Princess.

We didn't know you're coming,

please forgive us.

None sense,

brother Zisu,

I just found out that you're going to Cang Wu,

why didn't you tell me earlier?

Brother,

princess Huayao,

I'm going to read.

Brother Zisu,

what about the jade-rainbow cakes from me?

Are they good?

They are very good.

Which color did you like?

Do you want some?

No?

Then I'll eat it.

You,

how dare you!

the red peach-flavored one is good.

Gu Yue escaped to Cang Wu,

he has many tricks,

even though our task is to capture him,

the priority is still our own safety.

Thank you for the concern, general Xiahou,

I've sent assassins

to set up in Cang Wu already.

Yes,

take this as an opportunity

to show our stance.

Cang Wu will be the first step of reorganizing Wulin.

So that's director's plan,

then let's get rid of the evil.

Qinghong,

don't try to be a hero,

take care of yourself.

Uncle Xiahou, don't worry.

I will not only take care of myself,

I will take care of the director as well.

Without Yanzhi,

Zisu, Qinghong,

take good care of the director.

And if you got the time,

try to practice,

improve your kungfu.

Yes.

Wen Xuan,

Yixuan and green-dragon has taken Cang Wu for years,

they have a very complicated relationship,

and they can do evil things.

This task

comes with all kinds of danger,

please take extra care.

I know.

Housemaster Li,

it's been a long time.

I heard that green-dragon

made another huge deal recently.

Congratulation.

Thank you, housemaster Cao,

recently,

house Yixuan is getting ahead,

you're even doing business at my port.

I don't want your congratulation.

Don't say that,

my people don't know the rules,

when I get back,

I'll tell them off.

If men's word are believable,

then pigs can probably fly.

Housemaster Cao,

Housemaster Li,

neighbors who can't agree

a third-party win.

Lord Gu,

I got here as soon as I can.

after I received your letter.

Lin Fang is already on the way with a large crew,

if you don't stop fighting,

it's obvious that Lin Fang

will slaughter you like chickens

to warn the entire Wulin.

That wimp from family Lin?

He can't even carry a bucket a water,

Why should I be afraid?

What do you think, Lord Gu?

We form an alliance,

and you'll get not only Cang Wu,

in the future,

the entire Wulin

will be yours too.

Lord Gu,

you're not the acting director anymore,

plus your fort

doesn't exist anymore.

Now,

you're like a stray dog,

chased by Lin Fang,

do you really think

that we don't know anything?

Don't be mad, Lord Gu,

housemaster Li is just blunt,

if you really want to work with us,

it is not impossible.

But we have to see your capital,

what do you have up your sleeves?

give us something,

we need to have an idea.

the power of Xi Yan,

the plan of theirs,

are something

you can't imagine.

If you two

can assist me this time,

the entire Wulin

can be carved up by you.

What about you?

What do you want?

I want Lin Fang,

I want to kill him,

I want to avenge my son Gu Yan.
