How about we check up on Eun Ho?

Why? To see if he actually has amnesia?

No, I just want to see the kid.

Sang Ho.

- What? - Don't show interests...

in someone that isn't us three.

I don't think the feeling is mutual.

Still,

what you think isn't that important to me.

If you have to kill the boy,

will you be able to?

Sun Ah, don't you know me?

If push comes to shove,

I can even kill you three as well.

Don't forget...

that it was I who saved you three.

So don't you dare tell me what to do again.

There's something Baek Sang Ho is desperately looking for.

The Gospel of New Life?

This all happened because he believes you have a copy of it.

Once he finds out that your memory is back,

no one knows what he'll do to get to you.

It was taken from my locker.

We found it,

but no one should know.

The fact that the book was found...

and that your memory is back...

must stay between us.

What's wrong?

Did something happen?

I'll be back after I talk to Mr. Lee outside.

Just talk to him here.

- Eun Ho. - Do you think it'd be safer...

to keep things from me?

Or do you think it will hurt less?

None of this would've happened...

if I was honest with you from the start.

Eun Ho, why would you say that?

Why don't you think you're safe?

I remembered everything.

Even why you jumped?

I wanted to live.

I jumped because I wanted to live.

Mr. Lee.

What about the book?

I can't decipher anything.

Then bring it to me.

Are you going to take it to Jang Ki Ho?

That's our only choice.

Can you stay here while I go talk to the disciplinary committee?

I'm guessing it's not because you want me to keep him company.

Do you need me to protect him?

Is that what I need to do?

Can I really trust you, Mr. Lee?

Eun Ho, I want to protect you.

But...

that's not only because you're my student.

I know who you are.

And I don't want to hide that anymore.

But are you going to continue...

to keep it to yourself?

Is that what you really want?

What do you want me to do?

Should I stop here?

Or should I ask you the question?

I don't know.

I really don't know...

what I want.

Is my niece...

your little sister?

Yes.

(Essay Contest Award Ceremony)

Did you guys enjoy the food?

- Thank you. - No problem.

- Thank you. - Congratulations.

- Thank you. - Congratulations.

Go straight to your classes.

- Thank you. - Good work.

- Thank you. - You did great.

See you guys.

(DNA Genetic Testing Result)

(Test result)

(The two have a paternal blood relationship...)

(Yun Hee Seob, Lee Sun Kyung)

Hurry up, Uncle!

Be careful.

(The Adventure of the Baby Bird)

Eun Ho!

Eun Ho, what are you doing here?

I dropped by on my way home.

When are you going to visit our house again?

- Can I visit again? - Yes.

How would you feel...

if you had a big brother?

I don't want a big brother. I want a little sister.

Me too.

I also want a little sister.

I should go now.

Okay. Bye, Eun Ho.

Bye.

Eun Ho.

Does your mother also know?

She knows now.

If you know,

- does that mean he also... - I think...

he has a hunch.

I'm sorry.

It's not your fault. You don't need to be sorry.

I don't ever want Ji Won to find out.

Eun Ho.

I'm going to protect you no matter what.

I'm related to Ji Won by blood.

And so are you.

You're my niece's big brother.

And I'm your little sister's uncle.

So why don't you trust me?

Eun Ho.

You wrote in your book that you wanted help...

even though you can't talk about it.

Was it because of this?

Yes.

You're one more person who knows about this now.

No one can find out that we found the book...

and that Eun Ho got his memory back.

We all need to act like nothing ever changed.

Make sure they don't notice anything.

You know whom we're up against, right?

Baek Sang Ho.

I'll catch that crazy jerk.

Then we can finally go home together.

I told you...

that I'm going to find you.

And now,

I'm going to catch you.

(Detective Hwang In Bum)

- Hello? - Why aren't you here yet?

I wanted to talk before you went to the disciplinary committee.

Are you planning not to go there at all?

I'm on my way.

I also need to talk to you before I go to the disciplinary committee.

The best choice is to turn yourself in.

- Are you serious? - Yes.

You want me to do that now?

You didn't say this when Min Sung told you everything.

- I'm sorry. - I'll invest more money.

Tell me how much you need.

You can't cover this up with your money.

It's not possible, and I don't want that either.

I trusted you with my child and money, and this is what I get?

It was a reasonable investment.

And Min Sung is just another student...

He's not the same!

I invested way more money than other students' parents.

I heard Eun Ho grew up without a father.

What would he have learned as he grew up like that?

Min Sung was kind enough to pity him and be his friend.

But he dared to threaten my son?

- What kind of a kid does that? - Ma'am.

Eun Ho got hurt.

And your driver died.

What Min Sung did was...

That's right. He's still a kid.

So he can be forgiven if he reflects on himself and apologizes.

But you're different.

You'll need to repent, apologize,

and get punished for what you did in order to be forgiven.

You talk like you're so noble.

But you're sitting here thanks to your wife.

I can no longer trust you with my money...

or my son.

Today, we learned about synonyms, antonyms, and homonyms.

This is going to be on the exam.

So make sure you don't forget. Mark it with a star.

Pack your stuff.

Ma'am.

Min Sung is going to transfer to another school.

Hurry up and pack your stuff!

Min Sung.

What is a saprophyte?

Can you explain to me so I can understand?

It's an organism that gets energy...

from dead organic matter or wastes.

Why does it do that?

Because it has no chlorophyll.

I see.

Min Sung.

Then what does it mean to be parasitic?

To adhere to another organism and absorb its nutrients.

Like a parasite?

I feel like studying when you explain things to me.

You can help others by studying for yourself.

What ridiculous standards.

I told you not to even talk to such kids.

Mom. If I go to another school, I'll live like he did.

I'll go with you if that's okay.

But if you let me stay here,

I'll just study hard.

I apologize.

Sit down.

Let's continue.

This is important and will be in the exam.

Let's go over it again.

Synonyms, antonyms, homonyms.

These three...

You said that Jang Ki Ho knows a kid.

Yes. Ko Eun Ho in Year 2 Class 2.

Baek Sang Ho's looking for Ki Ho as well.

(Deacon Yoo Pan Sool)

The phone is turned off. You're transferred to voicemail.

(Chairman Baek Sang Ho)

- Hello. - Hi.

We must speak in person.

Must we?

No, no.

I'll come over.

Eun Ho...

regained his memory.

Including the day he fell?

- Yes. - Was it Baek Sang Ho?

Yes.

Kevin Jung, Lee Young Sik, and Choi Dae Hoon too.

We must investigate all those cases with Baek Sang Ho as a suspect.

And...

the stigmata serial murders too.

What connection is there?

In Baek Sang Ho's study,

Eun Ho saw Su Jung's photo and phone.

The actual phone and not a photo of it?

Yes.

That's why Eun Ho decided to jump.

He knew he couldn't get caught.

You were right to suspect that...

Seo Sang Won had an accomplice.

Homicide Team One...

will get hit by a storm.

If they lose their leader now,

they could get swept away and end up in the wrong place.

Until this morning,

I planned to reveal that I'd taken the killer's call...

and not you back then.

I was even going to repeat what the killer had said.

Why would you do that?

Because you felt guilty?

I just couldn't think of...

leaving such a huge flaw on your career.

I said that's okay.

My meager conscience...

is nothing compared to the huge weight...

and responsibility you felt for 20 years.

To me, they're both too huge.

But...

I'm sorry.

I'm really sorry, but...

Su Jung's killer.

I want to...

catch him myself.

You should.

That is what I wanted to hear.

(Special Crime Squad)

(Police Officer Disciplinary Committee)

Constable Lee Jae Hong.

Yes, sir.

(Officer under scrutiny)

(Witness)

You arrived on the scene at 6:13pm.

- Is that correct? - Yes.

Your written statement says that...

the suspect fell as soon as you arrived.

- That's true. - Then you didn't see if...

the suspect clung to Inspector Cha's hand...

or if she pushed him.

No. But if he were pushed, he'd have landed...

We already reviewed the expert's report.

After checking that the suspect was dead,

Inspector Cha handcuffed him. Correct?

Yes.

(Police Officer Disciplinary Committee)

We shall confirm the facts.

How do you think it'll go?

How would he know?

Did you mess up?

I answered the questions truthfully.

Good job.

- Thanks. - Don't worry.

The worst she'll get is a reduced pay.

It wasn't embezzlement or bribery.

They wouldn't risk hurting police morale...

over something like this.

What do you think?

You have an amazing touch.

I could be a regular.

If you don't mind,

I'd like to get a blow-dry tomorrow.

I'm sorry.

I'll be away for a while.

Oh, I see.

Okay then.

Go to the hospital and check on Eun Ho.

- Why? - His mom's up to something.

She won't be working from tomorrow.

She didn't stop working even after his accident.

Does Sang Ho know?

No, I called you first.

If the kid regained his memory,

I can't guess how Sang Ho will react when he finds out.

I get what you mean.

I'll check on the kid and call you.

Hello.

I'll leave then.

See you.

You're doing great. Let's try again.

You're doing so well. Stay strong for me.

Okay.

I'm heading back to school.

You didn't tell Eun Ho's mother that he regained his memory, did you?

I just left as soon as she came in.

How did the disciplinary committee rule?

I'm waiting for the result.

Call me when you hear about it.

I'll wait for you at the location with the book.

We'll take care of Ko Eun Ho from now on.

What?

After all this time?

We'll pay you back whatever you spent on...

his surgery and hospital bills.

Does the boy's guardian know?

I should tell her soon.

I'm really not interested in getting back chump change,

but...

what about 15 million dollars...

Im Hee Jung borrowed from me?

Well, I'm going to find Jang Ki Ho.

What does he have to do with anything?

As if you don't know.

I don't quite follow.

I'd tell you if you did,

but I guess there's no need to.

It's a confidentiality issue.

- I see. - Anyway,

why are you...

looking for Mr. Jang as well?

Sorry?

Here...

Lastly, you will be given a chance to explain yourself.

Inspector Cha...

Sir,

could you let me go first?

Go ahead.

19 years ago, the stigmata serial killer...

called the friend...

of his eighth victim from the victim's phone.

I was there at the time,

so I answered it instead.

That call put me in the nation's spotlight.

But all that attention...

revealed the lowest part of my humanity.

Catching the murderer should've been my duty,

but I considered it as a stepping stone in my career.

My desire for achievements was eating away at me...

when Young Jin showed up as a rookie cop.

So I shared all of the case materials with her...

and had her join the task force.

Not telling her colleagues...

about her relationship with the victim...

was my advice to her.

I don't understand.

She was an inexperienced rookie officer at the time...

who had a weakness of being the friend of a victim.

Why on earth did you go out of your way...

to have her join the task force?

Her being friends with the victim seemed like an advantage to me.

The anger and sadness...

of losing her only friend...

could make up for the lack of investigative methods.

Her desire to catch the killer...

would motivate her to the fullest.

What I didn't know is that it'd take this long.

Years went by,

and I was no longer obsessed about building my career with this case.

I was exhausted with all the work,

so I gave up.

But Young Jin never did.

If there's anyone who should take responsibility for this case,

it should be me.

I'm the one who lied and gave up.

I used Young Jin as a tool...

to build a fancy career.

That's all I have to say.

The disciplinary committee has made a decision.

Inspector Cha Young Jin...

is sentenced to one month of reduced salary.

Superintendent Hwang In Bum.

You have been dismissed.

What's the verdict?

A salary reduction.

That's a relief.

Are you off to meet Jang Ki Ho now?

I should talk to my team first.

Then I'll meet you at the location with the book.

Drive safely.

Sure.

(Team Leader Cha Young Jin)

She's been suspended for a month.

What about Chief Hwang?

He's been dismissed.

I'm sorry for what happened to Chief Hwang.

- Right. - Leave the rest to us now...

and get some rest.

You've never been on a proper vacation before.

Young Jin, are you just going to comply?

Request another hearing.

Ms. Cha,

don't you dare think about taking that break.

You may have been suspended, but you're still a cop.

He's right. It isn't fair to make us work this case by ourselves.

This again!

Don't do anything and leave it to us.

I only joined Homicide Team One because of Ms. Cha.

That reminds me.

I want Officer Yun back now.

Don't get all emotional on me.

This isn't just for my sake, you know.

I'm doing you a favor too.

Well, Ms. Cha,

I won't stop investigating this case.

Our team can be torn apart,

and the case can grow cold,

but I'll keep working on it.

Thank you, everyone.

- But... - No buts.

Just end it on that note.

I won't.

You see, I wasn't suspended.

All I received was a pay cut.

What? A pay cut?

Hold on.

I definitely remember hearing that you were suspended.

No wonder I misheard him.

I'm relieved to know that you weren't suspended. Well done.

See? Didn't I tell you that she'd just receive a pay cut?

Make time to always keep your ears clean.

The same goes for your nose.

Detectives should have a good sense of smell.

Clean them immediately. Go ahead.

I found Jang Ki Ho...

and the object both he and Baek Sang Ho were after.

Eun Ho.

Eun Ho?

Eun Ho.

Let's go. I bet you're tired.

Come on. Here we go.

Eun Ho's acting strangely.

Most people react instinctively when others call their names.

But...

he didn't look back even though I called him twice.

I think his memory is back.

Things are getting way too dangerous.

We need to find our own way to live...

before Sang Ho finds out.

So what's the market price according to this graph?

- 1.5 dollars. - 1.5 dollars.

Then...

Were you going to deal with this on your own again?

Yes, that's how I operated back then,

but I won't make the same mistake twice.

I found the prime suspect in the eighth stigmata murder...

who is either an accomplice or a copycat.

The owner of Millennium Hotel.

Baek Sang Ho.

(Nobody Knows)

Baek Sang Ho is linked to everyone in the case.

Seo Sang Won, Im Hee Jung, Jang Ki Ho, and Ko Eun Ho.

Getting the book to Jang Ki Ho will lead to Sang Ho's arrest, right?

I must get this to Detective Cha immediately.

Between Baek Sang Ho and Lee Sun Ho,

who would people believe?

Hi, Eun Ho.

What do you want with the kid?

You haven't been much of a homeroom teacher lately.

Baek Sang Ho!

Where's my book?

Don't tell me Baek Sang Ho has it.

Finding Jang Ki Ho will end it all.

All I need is Jang Ki Ho!

It doesn't matter if one figures out the numbers.

No one will be able to decipher them.

"Truly I tell you..."

"But of that day and hour, no one knows."

"But my Father only."
