The Legend of Chusen

Episode 20

Look out!

Jing Yu!

Are you okay?

Look out!

Xue Qi!

-Zhang Xiao Fan!-Xue Qi!

Xiao Fan!

It's so cold...

-Xiao Fan!-Xiao Fan!

-Wake up!-Wake up!

Mom and Dad are here!

Dad is here!

-Xiao Fan!-Xiao Fan!

-Xiao Fan!-Xiao Fan!

-It's me!-Do you remember me?

Do you still remember me?

-I'm here Xiao Fan.-I'm here!

-Xiao Fan!-Xiao Fan!

Mother!

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Zhang Xiao Fan.

-Xiao Fan!-Xiao Fan!

Do you still remember me?

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Do you still remember me?

Senior Sister!

Zhang Xiao Fan!

Senior Sister!

Sword come to me!

Xiao Fan!

Xue Qi!

Zhang Xiao Fan!!

Stop calling.

Are you not afraid Qin Wu Yan will hear?

-It's done.-Thank you.

They came following the bat mother. They must have gone that way!

We cannot fly over there.

There's a road over there. Let's go take a look.

They might be inside.

These are vengeful ghosts. It's said that after someone dies,

they have no way of getting rid of their attachments. In the end,

they sunk below the ground and became ghosts under their vengeful feelings.

No wonder it could feel our spirit. This must be the Thousand Bat Ancient Cave!

Junior Brother. I saw your heart demons.

Vengeful ghosts focus on people's attachments to their past.

You must be clear of your responsibilities.

Don't think about sadness and revenge anymore.

Or else you'll be used by the vengeful ghosts!

Just now..

I did dream of Grass Temple Village.

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Come, Xiao Fan!

Come play with me Xiao Fan!

Xiao Fan!

I dreamed of my father!

My mother!

And my friends!

Xiao Fan! Come play with me!

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Xiao Fan, it's me!

Xiao Fan! Don't be manipulated by your heart demons and attachments.

Vengeful spirits live on life energy that is attached to the past! Think of happy things!

Don't despair.

Xiao Fan! Don't let your heart demons and attachments manipulate you!

Xiao Fan!

Zhang Xiao Fan!

Zhang Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan! Zhang Xiao Fan!

Xiao Fan! Zhang Xiao Fan!

That's right...

We can go out.

They're afraid of my magic treasure.

Your magic treasure looks like a regular object.

What kind of magic treasure is it?

It's a fire torch. At Da Zhu Palace,

I used it to cook food.

I didn't think that after working hard to cultivate for 12 years,

and I was blessed to be given the Tianya Magical Sword by my Teacher.

But I lost under your fire torch.

But in the end, you still won.

I was hit so hard I spat up blood.

I didn't end up much better. You hit me so hard I laid in bed for months.

I'm sorry, Senior Sister.

What is this place?

I don't know either.

When I woke up, we were already here.

Can you fly on your sword? Fly over to take a look.

You don't need to force yourself.

I can't fly on my sword now either. Let's take a look around.

There must be a way to get out.

Wait! There's ghosts in here. You must not step inside.

What ghosts can be within a pool of dead water?

The bats flew in this direction just now.

Xiao Fan might be inside!

Then you go in. Go on!

Enough enough, I have a way. Leave it to me.

Come, come with me.

Bi Yao!

My daughter.

Bi Yao!

Come!

Mother!

Come, Bi Yao!

Come, my daughter!

-Don't go over there!-Mother!

What was that just now?

Teacher once told me that there are avenging spirits that wreak havoc in this world

that buried and hidden underground.

With greed, anger, and infatuation as the three poisons, with dread, evil, apprehension, and fear as source.

They hang onto life and refuse to disappear and become vengeful ghosts.

It's okay, I have a way.

Take this. Take it!

One per person.

Let's stick this charm on our heads.

Then the spirits can't feel our human spirit!

Let's go!

-Let's go.-Let's go.

Timing & subitles brought to you by Gone with the Shirt Team@Viki

Xiao Fan, what's wrong?

I'm okay.

I didn't think

that you and I would die like this today!

It's not done yet! Don't give up!

Zhang Xiao Fan!

Zhang Xiao Fan!

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Are you okay?

-Xue Qi!-I'm okay.

Xue Qi, are you okay?

Are you okay?

We cannot stay here any longer. Let's find a safe place.

Come, I'll help you up.

They went down just like that?

The five of them, one by one,

It's like they're afraid I'd go steal treasures!

The Qing Yun disciples are their own group.

I didn't think that they'd collude with you evil sect people!

What did you say?

Big Brother Xiao Fan and the others are doing it for your own good! Based on your skills?

You're not even enough for the monsters down there to eat!

-What was that about me?-Stop arguing!

Big Sister, they're good at martial arts. It'll be okay.

Xiao Huan, you don't know how dangerous it is inside.

My He Hwan Sect focused on Yudu

in order to protect that underground palace.

Isn't Elder Blackheart's headquarters under Yudu?

What does that have to do with the He Hwan Sect?

In the past, my sect began to fight among themselves because of the Beast God.

Our Madam Jing Ling had no intention to continue her life,

and entered the underground palace to sleep with Elder Blackheart forever.

That place is where they died for love.

I've seen the ancient texts Madam Jing Ling left for our sect.

Elder Blackheart was a master in divination.

Madam Jing Ling is amazing at the art of hallucinations. That place is full of traps.

I also heard that the Ten Thousand Poison Sect has searched for the Thousand Bat Ancient Cave for over a hundred years.

Qin Wu Yan dared to go down there.

He must know the inside very well.

The enemy is in the light while we are in the dark. Xiao Fan and the others

might not make it out alive.

Nothing can happen to Xiao Fan! I must go help them!

I have to make sure our ancestors' body is not disturbed.

I also owe Xiao Fan and the others a favor.

Let's go together.

Wait!

If Qing Yun and Tianyin go down there, how can I stand by and do nothing?

Jing Yu.

Earlier, while we were at the Dead Spirits Abyss, I saw our dead loved ones.

Evil comes from ones heart. The world is full of pain and sufferings.

Those spirits all live because of their lingering attachments.

Don't think about it anymore.

Bi Yao, are you okay?

Me? Of course I'm okay.

It's already been many hours. Just stop dragging me down.

Thank you for saving me.

Xue Qi, your inner injury isn't light. Do you want to go back up first?

There's no need. We don't know which floor Qin Wu Yan is on.

We must move quickly.

Everyone be careful. The road ahead is difficult.

What is this? There's so many bubbles.

It might be a trap. Try not to touch them.

Be careful.

It looks like they already used magic to pass through this point.

They also put an enchantment to prevent the bats from escaping outside.

Can you destroy them fully so they can't go out and harm people?

Xiao Fan!

How many traps are down there?

I'm not sure. The ancient texts are in bad shape. I only know there are three levels here.

Just using martial arts and cultivation cannot get you through it.

Is the treasure hidden on the third floor?

Why are you asking that?

If based on what you said that Qin Wu Yan knows the structural details of the underground palace,

It's possible that he's already at the third level.

We have to hurry down to warn Xiao Fan.

What is this place?

An infatuated person only suffers for a heartless person.

This should be the most mysterious among the five oceans,

Heartless Ocean.

Heartless Ocean?

Stop worrying about your dear Senior Sister.

Worry about yourself first.

I didn't call her that.

That day at the Bi Huo Tian Ice River,

you threw your life out there to protect what's her name,

that Senior Sister Ling Er.

Today, you put your life on the line to protect that Senior Sister Lu.

How many dear little Senior Sisters do you have?

It's not like that.

They're just my Senior Sisters, don't call them that.

Do your eyes feel uncomfortable?

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

Qin Wu Yan, just what did you do?

It's poison my teacher put in.

The poison that was in your body for so long,

You can't blame me for this.

Qin Wu Yan, if you dare to touch me, my father won't spare you!

Your Father? After I get the Heaven Book,

your Father wouldn't be able to stop my sect anymore.

Go!

Your goal is the Heaven Book?

It is precisely the incomparably powerful Heaven Book.

Elder Blackheart failed to revive the Beast God

and the Heaven Book was buried along with him in Blood Drop Cave.

If my guesses aren't off,

it should be below this Heartless Ocean.

It's just...my sect's texts have recorded that

if anyone wants to pass before the beast that guards Blood Drop Cave,

they need a bit of...sacrifice.

Sorry, Bi Yao.

I didn't want to ally with your father,

neither did I want to be like those young Qing Yun heroes.

I don't have one bit of tender feelings towards you.

Then...

please become the sacrifice for me!

Bi Yao!

Are you okay?

What is that?

The Black Water Snake. It's an ancient monster.

Run, I'll draw him away!

Don't move! I have a way.

Let's go!

Let's go!

Timing & subitles brought to you by Gone with the Shirt Team@Viki

Bi Yao!

Bi Yao! Wake up! Wake up!

Where's that snake?

I don't know either.

He ate Qin Wu Yan.

Was it poisoned and got diarrhea?

Your martial arts is so poor. Why did you try to save me?

But...didn't you come to save me too?

Don't be so rash next time, it's too dangerous!

-You're the foolish one.-I-!

There's no road left.

This should be the lowest level of the underground palace.

There's no other exit.

What's behind this?

And I thought this was blood inside!

When water is dripped onto this rock, it's like dripping blood.

Dripping blood?

It's Blood Drop Cave!

So this was Blood Drop Cave!

Alright, Old Man Blackheart!

You hid your underground palace in this sort of place!

No wonder no one ever found it in so many years.

You helped us in order to find this place?

Nonsense!

As the daughter of the Ghost King, am I supposed to help you get rid of demons?

What is hidden inside this place?

You and Qin Wu Yan faced such great danger for it.

Do you know about Elder Blackheart?

Lie Xie Sect, Bi Huo Tian Ice River,

Boss Nian, do you remember?

The Lie Xie Sect used to be the number one sect among us.

It's because of the Elder Blackheart that created this underground palace.

But it's a shame, because of the later fight between good and evil,

his internal Qi (energy) was greatly damaged and afterwards, he disappeared without a trace.

This is where he was buried?

I don't know.

But our sects have always had a legend

that said that Elder Blackheart put countless secret treasures

into a place called Blood Drop Cave.

It looks like we won't be able to leave for now.

Let's find a place to rest up first.

I think Shu Shu and the others will think of a way to save us.

Junior Sister Lu, are you okay?

Why are you all here?

It's because of those bubbles! They're like beautiful dreams!

I understand. It's a trap that hypnotizes people.

If you make them burst, you'll be hypnotized.

Where is Xiao Fan and Bi Yao?

Oh no! Don't tell me they fell down there!

How about this? Let's not worry first.

Xiao Fan is so skilled, he must be okay!

Bi Yao is also the daughter of the Ghost King.

She should be knowledgeable about the Thousand Bat Ancient Cave.

Ah Xiang, please use the Reincarnation Pearl to open the way. Let's all go down first before any further discussion.

How long have we been down here?

About ten or so hours?

I wonder how Jing Yu and the others are doing.

It'll be hard for them to protect themselves. We should just hope for luck.

They will definitely come. Hang in there a bit longer.

Who knows we're trapped here?

They probably think the Black Water Snake swallowed us.

Or else, do they have the ability to think of a brilliant idea

and can dig down all the way to the Heartless Ocean?

If they follow the river, they can find our hiding place.

I believe they will definitely think of this method.

There's only water here. With only water, we can't live for too long.

Xiao Fan.

Do you still remember the three things you promised me when you wanted me to save Xiao Huan?

The last thing.

In a few days, if you see that I can't hang on,

then kill me first.

If you want to live on, then kill me.

Eat my meat. Then you can live for a few more days.

Have you gone crazy?

No way. I definitely cannot do something like that.

Don't overthink things. They'll definitely come save us.

Why do you keep talking about dying?

Don't you do that too?

You don't even want your life anymore, what right do you have to talk about me?

If giving up my life can protect my most important person,

I can. But to let me belittle life,

then I definitely cannot do it. Do you understand?

No.

I just know that the longer you live,

the greater the chance they'll find you.

When I was little,

you righteous people secretly attacked Huo Qi Mountain.

Lie Xie Tang ambushed us midway.

My parents were separated.

Mother took me and ran.

Later on, we ran to a cave.

That cave is very similar to this place.

Other than a few water dropping between the cracks of rocks,

the surroundings are all firm and cold rock boulders.

We escaped Boss Nian's assassins.

But I was seriously injured.

Mother told me not to be afraid.

"Father will definitely come save us."

Mother gave me the Broken Heart Flower.

And did everything she could to treat me.

I was too hungry. I couldn't do anything.

She sacrificed herself to save me.

We waited for a long time, but Father didn't come.

The Broken Heart Flower's light became dimmer.

It was dark all around me.

And I didn't even have the strength to cry.

I can only moan while lying beside my mother

Until one day, Mother suddenly found me some meat.

I was too hungry.

I...I didn't care about anything, and ate it.

Every now and then, Mother would give me some meat.

Just like that...I lived on.

Until one day...

I called "Mother!"

and she didn't respond anymore.

Just like that, I waited alone in the darkness.

I waited for a very long time.

Do you know the taste of waiting for death?

Do you know the feeling of having your mother's body slowly rot by your side?

Do you know, when a person waits forever in the darkness,

living forever in fear, what that is like?

Just like that, in that dark cave,

I don't know how many days passed.

Father didn't come.

Until one day,

light appeared above my head.

I didn't have any energy then, nor did I dare to make a sound.

I only hid in the darkest corner.

That light was very warm.

I saw a child carrying a lantern.

He gave me hope to live.

But I waited for a long time,

until I fainted,

and he didn't come back again.

When I woke up again,

Father had found us.

I was suddenly very afraid.

I was more afraid than when I was waiting for death alone in the darkness.

I called softly.

"Father!"

Father!

Big Brother Qing Ling stood behind Father.

But I didn't know where my mother was.

I asked softly.

"Father, where is Mother?"

Father didn't answer me.

He saved me.

He hugged me close.

And then we left that dark cave.

Before we left,

over his shoulder,

I secretly looked down.

And saw my mother lying in a pool of blood.
