The Legend of Chusen

Episode 2

Xiao Fan, it's hard to live in the mountains. You're still young, so you might feel lonely.

In the future, there will be a lot of things where you have to depend on yourself.

But don't worry. If you need any help, just tell us.

Thank you Eldest Senior Brother!

Eldest Senior Brother, does Teacher not want me?

How could he not?

That's right. What are you good at?

Please don't say gambling. We're already scared of that because of Old Six.

Does cooking count?

This is great!

From now on, we don't have to eat Old Six's cooking.

That's right. When you have time, cook something delicious for Teacher.

He'll definitely like it.

I think we should put Lin Jing Yu under Junior Brother Cang Song's sect.

But this Zhang Xiao Fan...

Junior Brother Tian, why don't we put him under your sect?

Why don't I see a new junior brother?

It looks like my Ling Er really has grown up!

You can take students and be a teacher now?

I'm giving this pearl to you.

Find an empty place and destroy it.

You must not let anyone see you.

Cang Song is so sure that this is the evil sect's actions.

I don't think it is like that.

Why do they have to run to Qing Yun Mountain

and kill so many people below it for no reason?

The even stranger thing is...

those two children were the ones who survived.

Perhaps someone wants to use human blood to learn demonic magic.

That's possible.

There's a sect among the demon sect called Lie Xie Sect.

What does Sect Leader Senior Brother intend to do?

Sect Leader Senior Brother has already dispatched Xiao Yi Cai.

But I can feel that the evil sect members

will come back again very soon.

Xiao Fan! Xiao Fan!

-Why did you come?-I shouldn't have left you alone in Yu Qing Palace earlier.

Teacher said that Junior Master Tian already took you away.

I was worried, so I wanted to secretly run out here

and sneak into Da Zhu Palace. But you came out too! Did you remember something?

No, no! I didn't think of anything!

-Jing Yu!-Run, don't bother with me!

Jing Yu!

Jing Yu!

Teacher!

Teacher, be careful!

Don't hurt my Teacher!

Xiao Fan!

Teacher...

Jing Yu! Jing Yu! Wake up, Jing Yu!

Jing Yu!

It's alright, he just fainted.

Who is the one who tried to kill you?

-It's a long story.-Teacher!

Enough! Who told you to come down the mountain? Do you want to die?

I-I'm sorry, I-I thought that the evil sect would return,

so I wanted to go into the village to check things out.

I say, your disciple is quite good.

He...!

Xiao Fan, run! Don't come here!

Teacher!

The black clothed person you met yesterday was a spy from the evil sect.

Thankfully your Junior Master Tian pierced him with a sword.

He ran down the mountain. I don't think he'll come again.

Don't focus on this matter anymore.

Or else others will be scared.

Could that person be the one who killed my parents?

I have come to ask you,

if it really is him, based on your current ability,

could you get revenge?

You hate him, right?

But even if you hate him more, what can you do?

There is a type of hate that can control you.

But there is a type of hate that can strengthen you,

and sharpen your ability.

You have to think over my words well.

Come, drink this medicine.

Thank you Teacher.

Father, your book is upside down!

Also, can't you hurry up and pick up your chopsticks?

If you don't, we can't eat!

I'm in such a rush to eat!

Did Old Six make the food today?

The sun must have risen from the west!

Mistress, you really did guess wrong!

Old Six, pay up to your bet!

I'll do it myself. Go and eat.

Go and sit next to Ling Er.

Hurry and give it a try.

Everyone eat!

It's delicious!

-It's too delicious!-Senior Brother, this is yummy!

That's right! Sixth Junior Brother's skills can't even compare!

-Isn't that right?-I say, we finally got a treasure!

A great chef has finally come!

Eat some more of what you made! We'll leave cooking to you from now on.

I won't eat Sixth Senior Brother's cooking ever again!

Eat!

Bu Yi, slow down!

Bu Yi!

Zhang Xiao Fan, why do you want to enter my sect?

I want to learn skills!

Learn skills? Why?

To get revenge for my parents, for my people!

A good man will not rest on his laurels.

Foolish and obstinate, yet you don't change your ways.

Look at you, filled with hate and rage right now!

What difference is there between you and the one who destroyed your village?

In this world, righteousness lasts forever.

If you want to join my sect, you must have a heart for the world

and live for the living, to think on behalf of the world, to create peace for everyone!

A person who doesn't know how to protect the living

and only knows to get revenge.

I won't accept that sort of person as my disciple.

Zhang Xiao Fan, you should just go down the mountain.

Teacher! Teacher! Teacher!

I know I was wrong! I won't act like the way you described!

Like how?

I...when I learn skills, I will protect the righteous side

and I will definitely guard the world!

-Xiao Fan, go chop down bamboo.-Cut bamboo?

Xiao Fan, when you enter Da Zhu Palace, you have to chop down bamboo for three years first!

Chop well. We have to go practice flying on our swords. Be good.

Go!

Chop bamboo?

Teacher! Teacher?

Teacher, are you troubled?

Can I share your burdens?

Jing Yu. How long have you been in my sect?

It's been exactly six months.

Exactly six months...

To use such a short time to master the first level of our sect's martial arts,

ever since the sect has been created,

there have only been two people who improved so quickly.

Who is the other person?

What is it? You want to know who he is so you can compete with him?

Could it be...that it is you, Teacher?

Jing Yu. You are a rare talent.

But sometimes, you must stop and think.

If you rush forward too quickly, it's not necessarily a good thing.

You are still thinking about getting revenge?

Under Sect Leader's command, Xiao Yi Cai

has gone to observe the evil sect's movements and investigate what happened in your village.

I believe that things will become clear very soon.

But when that happens, when you get revenge, you must not lose the motivation to move forward.

When that happens, what should you do?

I understand, Teacher.

When you have time, you have to help me deal with some matters within our sect.

In any case, you do not live to get revenge.

I hope you can be like your fellow disciples,

and live life like you want to.

Yes.

I succeeded! I finally succeeded!

Congratulations, Junior Brother!

You finally cut one down after six months!

This black bamboo is stronger than others, regular people cannot cut it down!

Senior Sister, am I really stupid?

Father wants us to chop bamboo to strengthen our wrist and our body's fundamental abilities.

But...to take six months to chop one down,

I think I'm the only one, right?

So what? Learning is endless; diligence is the path to success.

Father once said that cultivation is hard.

Even if it's harder, you must keep going.

If you have poor natural ability, then work harder, so your efforts will make up for it.

I got it!

Let me teach you some things now.

Okay!

Come, Junior Brother!

Even though his magic hasn't improved a lot,

but Xiao Fan's fighting ability isn't too bad.

Eldest Senior Brother, what are you doing?

It's okay, it's okay! Are you two hungry?

We'll go chop some wood for you. Xiao Fan, come back early to cook!

Come on!

Xiao Fan, it's okay! Your effort will make up to it. Just practice slowly!

Come on! Let's go cook!

Xiao Fan, let's go!

Come on!

Senior Brother, why can't Xiao Fan master magic?

How can he compare to us?

He practiced the first level for three years, and has only practiced the second level for two.

It's natural that he hasn't improved much.

Sixth Senior Brother!

-Were you interfering earlier?-Okay, okay1

We were just doing it to support Xiao Fan!

Thank you Sixth Senior Brother.

Just keep acting. You're just making bets on Xiao Fan again, right?

I just helped you now, right?

Yes.

Lend me some money.

Money?

I say, Old Six!

Xiao Fan hasn't even gone down the mountain before. How could he have money?

Junior Sister, why don't you lend me some?

Thank you Junior Sister!

Why do you want to borrow money?

You know so much magic. Does the sect know about this?

You know this. According to Qing Yun rules,

when disciples learn the fourth type of magic,

then they have to go down the mountain and wander around for a while

looking for a concentration of spiritual energy

and create our own magical treasure.

But things are different below the mountain!

Eating, sleeping, a place to stay! It takes money to do anything!

I can't just get on my sword and fly away when I'm finished eating!

Eldest Senior Brother! Why don't you-?

I don't have money!

My money...is all left in Wen Ming's care!

-You're not loyal at all!-Cut the crap.

Go chop wood!

Chop the wood!

Come on!

Hurry up!

Senior Sister!

Teacher won't let us go down the mountain. This isn't a very good idea.

We already came! Didn't we agree to earn some money for Sixth Senior Brother's travel money?

Be brave! I'm here, don't worry!

You dug up half of Teacher's field of magical grass!

-We're done for when we go back!-Don't worry!

If my father asks, we'll say the wild pigs dug them out.

Come on!

He Yang Market

Let's go here.

Come on.

Senior Sister, will this work?

Look, the disciples of all sorts of sects are selling stuff here!

So, no one will focus on us!

Begin!

Yell something!

Oh...

Buy magical grass!

Buy magical grass!

Who can hear you if you're so quiet? Yell louder!

Louder!

Yell, yell!

Buy magical grass!

Buy magical grass! Take a look!

Take a look! Buy magical grass!

Be good, I'm going to take a walk. I'll be back soon!

I'll be back soon!

Buy magical grass!

Buy magical grass!

Take a look!

How much is it?

Hey! It's too much!

-Where is she?-Up front!

Stop! Stop!

Don't run!

Stop! Don't run!

Come down here!

Stop right there!

Don't run!

Come down here!

Xiao Fan!

Stop running!

Stop!

Stop right there!

Stop running!

You are from the Qing Yun Sect?

Who are you? Why did you use a rock to trick me?

Money should be looked at carefully when it's taken. There's no responsibility for it after it's been given.

Who are you to blame when you didn't look at it clearly?

Give it back to me!

You want it?

Come get it yourself!

Xiao Fan!

Senior Sister! I'm here! Senior Sister, I'm here!

Senior Sister!

Senior Brother, are you also looking for a girl wearing a hood?

A girl? What girl?

Junior Brother, you've come just in time! Come with me!

I'm looking for a girl!

Looking for a girl? You're pursuing a girl?

I'll teach you!

Just do me this favor and I'll teach you how to pursue the girl. You'll definitely succeed.

What do you mean by that?

My words have always held a lot of weight!

Okay, come with me for a moment.

Come!

Yan Ru Yu?

There is Yan Ru Yu within the books!

Who is Yan Ru Yu?

It's not a person!

It's good stuff!

-I'll go find that person.-Where are you going?

-Stop dragging your feet, come on!-Senior Brother!

Hurry up!

-I'll go find that person.-Why are you pursuing her?

I already said to leave it to me! You'll definitely get her!

I have to look for a book. Wait for me here.

You're still going to look?

What book are you looking for? I'll help.

I'm looking for Yan Ru Yu.

Yan Ru Yu?

Yan Ru Yu is...

No, I can't help you look for that!

You can't leave!

Xiao Fan!

Xiao Fan?

Where did Xiao Fan go?

Discipline Court inspection?

It can't be that big of a coincidence!

Senior Brother Qi,

it looks like there aren't any problems with the other sect's medicine that they are selling.

I'll go take a look at the wine shop. Junior Brother Lin, go to Yan Ru Yu.

Yan Ru Yu?

What does that place do?

An old bookstore opened a few years ago.

It specializes in collecting martial arts manuals.

It's half true and half false.

There are also some sex books.

This...our sect's disciples

probably won't buy books like that.

They might. Go take a look.

That beautiful maiden must be Xiao Zhu Palace's

most beautiful maiden in all of Qing Yun, Lu Xue Qi.

Oh.

-I'll go chase after that girl.-What for?

Don't you want to pursue girls?

Watch me.

Watch me teach you to pursue girls.

Come on!

Watch me!

Junior Sister Lu. I am Feng Hui Palace's Zheng Shu Shu. What book are you looking for?

Philosophy books? Medicine or swordplay manuals?

You can tell me. I'll help you look.

Boss, have you seen any Qing Yun sect disciples come here?

No. I didn't notice.

Crap. Discipline Court inspectors. Don't tell them I was here.

I don't want them to know either!

Junior Sister Lu, there's a secret passageway in the back. You should leave first.

Stop!
