[Ever Night 2]

[Episode 20]

Since Fu Zi has already passed away,

that also means your father can come back.

This can be counted as a good thing I suppose.

Junior Uncle, even though it has been many years, you still never told me why

my father was exiled to the South Sea.

At this stage, I'm supposing that this can now be said. Right?

Since you really want to know, I will just tell you.

That year, Tang Academy's Ke Haoran died from Heaven's wrath.

Fu Zi was so angry that he went up the Peach Mountain, entered the Xiling Shrine,

and used a measly wooden stick to chop down all the peach trees.

He passed through hundreds of gates with outstanding fighters waiting.

The Monastery Leader joined forces with the Expound Scriptures Leader of the Suspended Temple,

but still couldn't last long under that wooden stick.

He was defeated at once and was forced to wander in the South Sea.

He was never to step his foot on land again.

Fu Zi was so formidable.

Even a great cultivator like my father can't compare to him.

Pipi!

It's good that the Monastery Leader can come back now.

Junior Uncle!

Is it truly a good thing for Father to come back?

So many people...

died this year.

I had a dream just now.

I saw Emperor Father and my grandfather.

I also saw many people who left us.

Now, even Fu Zi is gone.

Fu Zi doesn't belong to the mortal realm in the first place.

He only went to the place where he's supposed to be.

Whoever it is,

has to face death one day.

I can't hold on any longer, Xiatian.

I'm going to seek Fu Zi.

Nonsense.

You will be fine.

I will always be with you.

You need to protect Tang for me.

Even so,

I don't feel any fear at all.

Because I believe that Tang will be the greatest.

I am the most powerful person in the world.

And I married the woman I love the most.

Now,

she is right next to me.

What's there to regret?

I have many regrets.

I haven't seen your aged face.

I couldn't let you see our son growing up.

The thing I regret the most

is that I shouldn't have gone south to the capital city.

Don't say that.

Without those things back then, we wouldn't have what we have now.

Xiatian, do you know that

the moment I saw you,

there is only summer (xiatian) in my four seasons?

The moment I met you,

I knew that

I belonged to you.

Little Six.

Come.

Take care of your mother and yourself.

In the future,

have Little Six learn from

the First Teacher of the Academy.

Regarding Yu'er and Hunyuan,

as long as they don't misbehave,

let them live.

Promise me.

I got it.

Old Ma.

Ma Shixiang.

I am here.

Ma Shixiang of Wei City,

I trust the people you trust.

May I have you pass the message to hundreds of miles away?

I am passing my throne to the Sixth Prince, Li Hupo.

And you will be the executor of my last command.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty, I will do my best,

even if it will cost my life.

Xiatian...

I'm leaving.

Emperor Father!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Emperor Father!

Emperor Father!

Emperor Father!

Emperor Father...

[South Faction of Heavenly Dao]

Go invite General Hua over.

I need to talk to State Preceptor about something important alone.

Emperor Father is gone.

His Majesty.

State Preceptor!

State Preceptor!

His Majesty has followed Fu Zi.

That is such a tragedy for Tang.

Don't be too sad.

We have more important things to do.

What is your plan?

Wait for the last command.

How did you know that the last command will arrive here in two days?

Because I understand my emperor father.

Why must I help you?

Because I'm a Tang.

The Six Prince is also a Tang.

But his mother is not. The future emperor of Tang shouldn't be impure.

Especially when he's from the Demon Sect.

Please don't forget that

you are the State Preceptor of Tang.

Where is Her Highness?

The princess is inside. Please wait.

Why is this happening? Why?

His Majesty has long decided on this.

This last command was written a year ago.

Can the last command be changed?

Usually not.

When is it unusual?

When our country is gone.

What do you want?

State Preceptor, I will do anything you want.

I want Tang to last as long as it can.

I want to bring the South Faction of Heavenly Dao to greater heights.

I want the people of Tang to live without worry.

Your Highness, can you promise me that?

[South Faction of Heavenly Dao]

Greetings, Your Highness.

How long have you waited?

Not long.

It's cold tonight. Don't get sick or I will feel bad.

Thank you, Your Highness. I don't deserve this much kindness.

You want to do something great, don't you?

Your Highness knows what I want.

I asked you here to tell you something important.

You have to be the one to do this. I don't trust other people.

I will not let you down. Please do tell, Your Highness.

There will be changes in the capital today.

Keep watch of Grand Prince closely.

Yes.

Teacher, it's time for your meds.

There have been so many funerals in the capital these past years.

The old governors that have been through three courts. Old generals.

They've all died one by one.

Now, His Majesty is gone, too.

Even Fu Zi is gone.

Tell me. Is it Heaven's will?

Teacher, since the capital is stirring greatly,

our sect should do better in guarding the last gate of the capital,

the God Startled Formation.

Hunyuan. Hunyuan.

Where is Third Prince?

He... He...

Find him now!

Yes.

Pass my order. Have Eunuch Li count the people inside the palace.

Find out if there have been people sneaking out.

Yes, Your Highness.

If I remember it right,

you were from Qinghe County. Right?

Yes.

My family is a branch of the He Clan of Qinghe County.

Is that the He Clan

where a past Grand Priest of Xiling was from?

Yes.

If I am right,

you work for the Shrine Leader.

No wonder you

have always been interested in the God Startled Formation.

You've been cultivating here

for so many years.

Your purpose must be to find the Formation Eye Pestle.

It's a shame that the Formation Eye Pestle

was handed to Ning Que.

Grand Prince, there's a piece of secret information from the palace.

What?

His Majesty is dead.

His Majesty is dead?

The princess went to the South Faction of Heavenly Dao in the middle of the night.

I'm afraid that the last command will be suddenly changed.

With Yu'er personally going there,

the result is obvious.

The new emperor that they are announcing tomorrow in court will surely be...

It doesn't matter whose name is on the last command.

First come first serve.

The throne of Tang should be mine.

I will always be loyal to you.

Since you always knew it,

why haven't you exposed me?

Because...

you are my favorite student.

I have always been internally struggling

to choose a relatively smooth road and keep walking.

So, I chose the princess.

Also, I didn't expose you.

People say that the capital city will never fall.

All the cultivators are praising

the power of the God Startled Formation.

But only a few know that

the invincible thing

is actually Fu Zi.

But Fu Zi died after all.

It proves that Light cannot be defeated.

And now, an Academy without Fu Zi

is not going to be able to resist the whole world

like it did in the past.

So Great Tang will fail.

It's all fate.

It's all fate.

If Tang is going to survive,

it has to go back to

the Light.

I know that you

had an agreement with Prince Hunyuan.

But don't forget,

the people of Tang

are also the believers of the Light.

And you are also a Tang.

I hope that you can

make it less bloody.

Less bloody.

I will use my life to strive for it.

From tonight on, you no longer have to

hide in the darkness of this capital city.

After tonight, your names will be remembered.

Tonight, I will use this Emperor's Sword

to kill those treacherous rebels and rectify the rightful leadership of my Great Tang!

We will always be loyal to you!

It's an urgent decree from the princess. Open up.

Yes!

Hurry.

[The inheritor of the throne is Li Hunyuan.]

- Have you found him? - Your Highness, we can't.

Where is he?

Keep looking! Right now!

Yes.

And you, you, go find him!

Yes, Your Highness.

Eunuch Wang.

Commander Xu.

You have a lot of people with you in the middle of the night.

Where are you going?

The princess urgently asked for me, so I am going there.

The princess urgently asked for you?

I have to go if there is nothing else.

Wait!

Your Highness, he is not in the Yizheng Palace.

Your Highness, he is not in the garden either.

Your Highness, he is not in the kitchen either.

The princess urgently asked for palace guards during the night.

I am the leader of the palace guards,

but I knew nothing of it.

Commander Xu, here's what happened. Listen to me.

I'm here to catch you.

It's okay. I got you!

Where are you?

Right here.

You think I won't be...

What are you doing here?

Take him!

Let go of me! Let go!

Let go of me!

Your Highness, someone intruded into the palace?

Who?

Eunuch Wang, I fought with his men earlier and they were very strong.

There were cultivators among them.

Cultivators?

- How many of them? - The imperial guards probably caught more than ten.

There were still a couple of them who escaped.

Also, the palace guards were murdered by them.

So, we don't know how many of them got in.

I've already ordered the Imperial Guard to be on duty.

They are searching for the intruders.

- Reporting! - Hunyuan...

- Have you found Hunyuan? - Reporting!

Your Highness, Third Prince...

was abducted by the intruders.

- Xu Chongshan. - I am here.

Pass my order.

Use every means to find Third Prince.

Yes, Your Highness.

Who are you? What do you want?

Do you know who I am?

Of course, I do.

Or else, why am I going to kill you, Third Prince?

If you kill me, my royal sister will not let you off easy.

You think she can survive?

Your Highness the Grand Prince.

What are you doing?

Hua Shanyue, you should know the circumstances for tonight.

I suggest that you make the right choice.

As you can see, I've made the right choice.

Kill them!

[Tavern]

This is ridiculous. Let Third Prince go.

If you want to save Third Prince,

have Li Yu come here alone.

I will say it again.

Have Li Yu come in alone.

He said to have Li Yu... let Royal Sister come in here alone!

Get back!

Have my sister to come in alone.

Why are you still standing there? Get out of here!

- Your Highness, it's dangerous. - It's fine. I will act according to the situation.

I'm here.

Let go of Hunyuan.

If you want me to let him go, hand me the last command.

Royal Sister, give it to him. Quickly give it to him.

I beg you! Give it to him.

Put it on the floor.

Move back.

- Move back out. - Quickly move back!

Grand Prince, if I make it, I will shoot red fireworks.

If I fail, I will shoot white.

Please act accordingly.

Retreat! Retreat!

Don't chase them!

What are you doing here, Royal Uncle?

Yu'er, I heard that someone tried to assassinate and rebel inside the palace,

so I brought people here for support. Are you okay?

Thanks to you, I'm fine.

Royal Uncle,

I shot the fireworks.

I've been close to you since I was little.

I know your preference.

Did I guess right?

White means failure.

Fine.

Fine.

Maybe this is fate.

I was only gambling.

I bet that my failure will end tonight.

I want to see if the Emperor's Sword that Emperor Father gave me

can truly make me the ruler of this world.

Since the ending is set,

why gave me hope?

You are gambling, and so am I.

It's just that my stake

involves our Li family's dignity and pride.

We both know that

I didn't make the choice.

And it's not you either.

It was Emperor Father's soul in Heaven.

Have you read His Majesty's last command?

Why ask, Royal Uncle?

Everything will be revealed in court tomorrow.

Looks like it must be Li Hunyuan who will inherit the throne.

Just rest in the palace tonight

and take care of the after events.

Once the mourning period is over, you may go back to your manor.

Grand Prince, please.

I know that

there are many dramas and rumors in the palace.

But what happened tonight,

if you dare tell any soul about it,

you will all die here.

Understood?

Yes, Your Highness.

Go.

Yes.
