Episode 32

This...

Ming, you're coming.

Xie Beiming, how come you...

Ming,

get all of them...

Prince Yun,

I've been waiting for this moment.

I've been waiting for you to turn yourself in,

to send the evidence to the main hall on your own.

What?

Your rebel army has reached the West Gate indeed.

But all these,

is a trap for you.

You've been the Minister of Auxiliary for so many years now,

you should know that

the border troops of the capital are very well-trained,

let alone the security in the palace.

Have you ever thought about

how your army could easily get inside?

Retreat to the main gate.

Close the gate.

West Gate

West Gate Fire.

How did you find out my plan?

I knew about it

the moment you assigned me to

lead the birthday banquet for Her Highness.

And so we went with your flow,

and waited for the opportunity.

When you thought that you've won the battle,

that's the moment we'd fight back.

Father,

it's time to stop now.

He promised me to spare your life.

Shut up.

You are my son.

I trust you most.

Yet you've betrayed me.

No!

Brother Xie!

Father,

thank you for

raising me.

This is the only way

I can repay you.

Xie Beiming!

Father,

stop it, please.

Ming.

Brother Xie,

Xie Beiming,

hold on.

Xie Beiming.

Rushuang,

I'm afraid I can't keep my promise anymore.

I can't stay by your side

for the rest of your life.

I'll

miss you.

Please

forgive me.

I'm sorry.

No.

You won't die.

You won't die.

You promised me to be by my side for the rest of my life.

You can't go back on your word.

Long live the king!

Long live the king!

You may rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Brother,

I've been thinking about

something recently.

What is it?

I think we didn't handle

the Bai Liang case properly.

It's to give father the truth

if I can justify the innocence of Bai Liang Clan.

Your Majesty, why not make a public announcement

to clear the name of Bai Liang clan.

Brother,

I don't think you're doing this for Bai Liang clan.

You're doing this for Detective Su, right?

That's one of my concerns, of course.

The position of

the Lead Officer of Mingjing Office is vacant.

How about promoting Detective Su to be the Lead Officer.

What do you think?

No.

Detective Su is too young and inexperienced.

It's not fair.

I think Detective Luo Xin

is good at case-solving.

Besides, he's honest and righteous.

He'd be the perfect candidate to be the Lead Officer of Mingjing Office.

Brother,

are you being fair

or are you doing all this for your own good?

I've been all by myself all this while.

Now, it's time for me to think about my marriage, right?

Right.

I'm a fair king.

Su Ci and you saved our lives and our country.

So I decided to

grant you your wish to marry Su Ci.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Pei Mansion

Rushuang.

Sister Rushuang,

I've made some porridge.

Come and have some.

Do you think

he will recover again?

I'm sure he will.

Brother Pei,

what happened?

How come Xie Beiming

was related to the rebel Prince Yun?

Actually,

Prince Yun

was his adoptive father.

But Brother Xie didn't know the true identity of Prince Yun.

He told Prince Yun our whereabouts

through letters.

No wonder...

No wonder he told me that he had done something wrong.

He has got a pure heart.

He didn't know that

until we were being hunted by some assassins

during the investigation of Li Mu's case

in Qifu Town.

So that's why he was avoiding me

and talking strangely.

I'm leaving.

Rushuang,

If...

If...

If I accidentally made a blunder,

would you forgive me?

As long as you're faithful,

I can forgive you.

Well...

What if I'm not?

I'll forsake you then.

You, silly man.

How could you take all the burden alone?

Why did you not tell me the truth?

Brother Xie did confront Prince Yun after he found out

that he was being used by Prince Yun.

Prince Yun threatened to harm you.

In order to keep you safe,

he had no choice but to endure all the pain alone.

You knew about it?

I had a long talk with Brother Xie

after we got back from Nanxun Town.

After that, we secretly planned everything.

We went with Prince Yun's flow on purpose.

And then we set a trap for Prince Yun.

We led Prince Yun to believe that

the fireworks display was the best chance for rebellion.

No wonder...

You knew about all these all along.

I can't imagine

what would happen

without his help.

But

I never thought that

between the righteous and his father, he'd made such a choice.

He did it

because he felt guilty for what he had done.

He hoped that we'd forgive him.

I never regret

meeting Brother Xie.

And I never blame him for anything.

Xie Beiming,

do you hear that?

We don't blame you.

We've forgiven you.

Wake up.

If you continue to sleep,

I'll sprinkle some poison powder on you.

Case file

Your Highness,

I'll report my findings on Bai Liang case

to His Majesty

on court tomorrow.

All right.

Your Highness, don't you have anything to ask me?

The truth that you discovered

should be the same as I thought.

So

you just need to report everything to His Majesty.

Thank you.

Today,

His Majesty issued a decree in the main hall

stating that we, the Bai Liang clan was framed by Prince Yun

in the murder of the late emperor.

Bai Liang Clan Leader, Bai Sheng and His Wife His Majesty

has cleared our name.

Father,

mother,

I've made it.

Bai Liang Clan Leader Finally, I've cleared the name of Bai Liang clan.

Bai Sheng and His Wife I've cleared your name.

From now on,

I'm no longer a descendent of murderers.

I can stand up straight and tell everyone that

I'm from Bai Liang clan.
