after that, she passed away.

taking her away from him,

and that's why she got sick
and she passed.

And that was my last, like,
interaction with my dad.

Like, that was my last,
like, conversation with him.

That's the first time
that I'm hearing

that, like, your dad blamed you.

I think that after,
you know, my mom passed,

my dad, like,
had some substance abuse issues,

and, you know,
some mental health issues.

And so I don't know if that
was related to his passing.

If he, like--
if it was self-inflicted.

I don't know.

Like, I don't have
any of the answers.

I'm trying really hard not
to make that part of my story,

because I don't, like, need you

going into, like,
the future of our relationship

viewing me as a life partner

or even, you know,
the father of our children,

thinking there's a history
of substance abuse

or mental health issues
in my family.

I think what
you have to understand

is, like, we're, like,
in it together,

and stuff like that affects you.

It's just hard,

I've been conditioned to, like--

I can always depend on myself.

so fiercely independent anymore,
