Episode 18

You beggar!

There was a girl.

Do you know where she ran to?

Tell me. I will award you.

Haoming!

Xu Boyi just told me that

Ye Xiaotian's family doesn't live in Tongren for

more than 3 generations.

So he is not qualified to take the exam in Tongren.

His identity of Provincial Graduate should be canceled.

Xiangsheng.

You don't know.

An family recommends Ye Xiaotian to be an official.

What?

An family?

When did Ye Xiaotian

has relation with An family?

Xiangsheng.

You don't have to be like that.

I have to give An family a favor.

But

An family only recommends Ye Xiaotian to be an official.

But they didn't say which official position

and where the position was.

Haoming, you mean?

Hu County.

Hu County is set up 3 years ago. It is disordered.

The local magistrate is weak and powerless.

The social order there is extremely unstable.

I intend to let him to be a Judicial Clerk in Hu County.

Judicial Clerk is in charge of arrest.

Is Ye Xiaotian qualified to do it?

Ye Xiaotian is frivolous and deceitful.

With such personality,

if he becomes a Judicial Clerk,

he will likely get into trouble.

Until then,

how does An family protect him?

Good idea!

Adulation is also a means.

Besides, Xu Boyi also takes office in Hu County.

They two have conflicts.

By the time…

Xiaotian!

What should we do?

My dad knows you are the Sect Leader of the Voodo Sect.

He wants to separate us.

Will your dad take you away again?

Definitely.

He doesn't agree that we get together.

What should we do?

No! No matter who comes,

he can't take you away.

Then what should we do?

I have a cheap shot.

You have decided to be with me.

That might be a good idea.

What is it?

Never mind.

Tell me quickly!

Are you sure you are with me? Right?

We might as well

make the thing cannot be changed.

Would you?

I'd love to.

Really.

What should we do?

Taoyuan Inn?

Does this look better?

I think the Tongxin Inn

is much better.

That name sounds great.

Tongxin Inn is for carters.

Good and evil people mixed up there.

This is the first day we become husband and wife.

We must choose a

place with better environment.

Ok, you're the boss.

Let's go.

Wait a minute.

What's up?

That...

That...

That...

What's the matter?

Today is our

big day.

I want to buy some candles

and pasters of happiness.

You're right.

Let's buy some.

Let's go.

Where did you find the red cloth?

Didn't you say today is our big day?

Come on.

Let's bow to Heaven and Earth!

Bow to Heaven and Earth!

Bow to parents!

Husband and wife bow to each other!

Stupid girl.

Well.

Let's

have a cross-cupped wine.

Pour little for my wife.

Pour more for the husband.

May Ye Xiaotian and Xia Yingying

love each other for 100 years.

Darling.

Dear.

Darling.

Dear.

I am your wife from now on.

Except for one thing.

I know it.

I'll find my dad.

You dad? Why?

I want to tell him

we have already gotten married.

He can't do anything

to separate us.

But

we are

not true husband and wife.

But we have already performed the formal wedding ceremony.

Why aren't we?

We haven't slept together yet.

Sleep?

No.

Why?

My dad said

a girl will have a baby if a boy and a girl sleep together.

But we are married.

Isn't it normal to have a baby?

But I don't want to have a baby.

In fact, a baby is not necessary.

But if we have a baby,

you dad has no reason to separate us anymore.

We have performed the formal wedding ceremony.

We are legal couple.

Really?

Let's go to sleep!

Sleep.

What?

Sleep.

Sir, 2 hours is over.

I need another 2 hours.

Sir, transaction on credit is not allowed.

Please pay for it at the front desk.

Coming.

Wait a minute, I will be back soon.

Shopkeeper.

Continue 2 hours.

No, 4 hours.

Sir, you can rest assured.

Old patrons enjoy old price and old rules.

What are you saying?

I come here for the first time.

Congratulation to Ye Xiaotian from Tongren.

He is promoted to be Judicial Clerk in Hu County.

Wait a minute.

Bro.

You just said congratulation to whom?

Congratulation to Lord Ye Xiaotian.

You are promoted to be Judicial Clerk in Hu County.

I come to report this good news.

Sir, you haven't renewed your fee yet.

No need to renew it.

Yingying! Yingying!

I can defeat 400 people by myself.

Really?

I do not believe it.

It's true.

Big brother!

Big brother, I heard that you are a big official.

Is it true?

Maybe it is true.

I heard the official position is Judicial Clerk.

True Judicial Clerk.

True Judicial Clerk.

True Judicial Clerk.

Really!

True Judicial Clerk.

The Assistant Administrator of North Department of Criminal Investigation of the Imperial Guard in east Guizhou

only sounds great.

But it's an official who can't been known to public.

The Sect Leader of Voodo Sect

has to live in the mountains forever.

It's too constrained.

Only this Judicial Clerk

is a true official position.

It can uphold my family honor.

It sounds good.

Shall I

pride for a while?

Dad!

I warn you again for the last time.

Don't bother Yingying anymore.

Otherwise...

Dad, we have already married.

What?

Dad?

What are you doing?

You tell me honestly.

What did you do to my daughter?

Tell me.

Congratulation to you! Master.

Your son is promoted to be an official.

He can ride a fine horse

and become a high-ranking position.

He will bring glory to his ancestors.

It's you.

It's me.

You are Lord Ye?

Get out!

Okay.

Ye Xiaotian!

Tell me honestly!

What did you do to my daughter?

Tell me.

What's wrong? I am his wife.

Shut up.

Yingying.

Dad, why do you beat her?

Quickly say it.

Or I will tear you up.

Congratulation to Master Ye.

Get out!

Thanks!

Dad!

Let me tell you honestly.

I and Yingying

have already bowed to Heaven and Earth.

Now we are real man and wife.

So

don't think about breaking up us anymore.

You!

Hit! Hit!

Hit me!

You can't do it.

Get out of here!

Dad! You!

You damn it!

What about 20 years later?

20 years later

you have to go back to be the Sect Leader.

You want my daughter

to be a widow when you are alive?

I will not let Yingying

to be with me for only 20 years.

I like her. I love her.

Can you hurt her if you like her?

If you have a daughter?

If you are a father?

Will you do this?

Would you like to do it? Tell me?

Tell me would you like to do it?

I…

I am a responsible person.

I like Yingying.

I will not betray her.

Actually

I still have no sex with Yingying.

What did you say?

Have no sex?

Don't you lie to me?

You are Yingying's father.

How can I lie to you?

Sir.

I and Yingying

really

love each other.

We are ready to get together forever.

Forever?

After 20 years,

and then?

What do you do after that?

I will not allow you to harass Yingying.

Otherwise,

I will break your leg.

Yunfei.

Go to help big brother.

He is scolding by that old man.

This...

Others can only do a disservice.

Now you are an official.

Just be a good official.

When you become successful,

you will certainly have a good wife.

And…

Master! Master!

You monkey shower,

why don't you go to a busy place

but come here?

I think there are quite a lot of people.

I think you should get out.

Get out of the way.

Yingying, let's go.

What?

I can't go with you.

My daughter.

I can promise you everything

except this thing.

It is a great event in your life.

Because it is a lifelong event.

I won't leave with you.

My daughter.

This is good for you.

20 years.

How time flies!

At that time, he will get back to remote mountains.

Only you are left to raise your children.

How miserable you are!

There are so many outstanding men in the world.

You are addicted to love briefly.

When you calm down,

you'll change your mind.

I am very calm.

I have already thought about it.

I don't care about 20 years.

You!

Uncle! Uncle!

Uncle!

It's terrible.

Great-grandma is seriously ill.

What's wrong with her?

Our family sent a message that

Great-grandma is seriously ill.

She is calling your name in the coma.

When I left

isn't she still okay?

Something unexpected

may happen any time, sister.

Let's go back.

Hurry up.

I...

Xiaotian! I...

You don't have to say anything.

Go back to see your great-grandma with your dad.

I'm waiting for you.

Quickly!

Your great-grandma is dying.

Hurry up.

Yingying!

Quickly!

Be quick.

Let's go.

Does Provincial Graduate Ye live here?

I won't give you money.

You are the Provincial Graduate.

Please forgive me.

Two provincial governors

will call in all Provincial Graduates in this year

at the yamen of provincial governor at 7:45 am tomorrow.

Please don't be late

to attend it.

I got it. Thank you.

See you.

What happened?

It's so noisy.

-Duoni! What happened? -I am Daheng.

I am here.

-Thanks! -Congratulation.

Thank you, everyone.

Congratulation to you all.

Congratulation!

Congratulation!

Mr. Ye.

I am younger than you.

Just call me Ye Xiaotian.

Right.

You are younger than me.

Young is so good.

You are young and handsome.

No wonder

can you get the support of the Xia family in the Red Maple Lake.

Otherwise, you are

not qualified to

get an official position easily.

I am afraid that you forgot to take medicine this morning.

Or did your brain damage

in Hu County?

How can you talk nonsense?

I talk nonsense?

Don't you admit that

you claim ties of kinship with the mademoiselle Xia Yingying?

I and Yingying love each other.

None of your business.

The Xia family in the Red Maple Lake

is one of minority headmen among the Eight Guarding Warriors.

Miss Xia is the darling daughter of Xia family.

Without her,

how can you become an official?

You just said

the Xia family in the Red Maple Lake

is one of minority headmen among Eight Guarding Warriors?

Won't you tell us that

you don't know the identity of Xia Yingying?

Thank you.

Thank me?

Why?

Thank you for telling me these.

I just know

that Yingying does so good to me.

You…

Here come Lord Jiang and Lord Wang.

Good morning, Lord Jiang and Lord Wang.

You are welcome.

Xu Boyi who comes from Hu County

is appointed to be the County Magistrate Assistant in Hu County

and take office quickly.

Thanks, Lord Jiang.

Ye Xiaotian who comes from Tongren

is appointed to be the Judicial Clerk in Hu County

and take office quickly.

Thanks, Lord Jiang

Everyone,

there are three rules to be an official.

First, to be honest and upright.

Second, to be careful.

Third, to be hard-working.

I hope we can encourage each other by the rules.

I hope when you take office,

you' can be concerned about people in the whole country.

Make contributions to the Imperial Court

and pacify common people.

Always remember the teachings of the sages.

Be responsible to your position! Promote the beneficial and abolish the harmful.

Bring benefits to people.

Thanks for your teaching.

You are welcome.

Big brother!

Big brother!

You are coming.

Do you learn to read?

Only you learn to read!

A bunch of vulgar people.

Xu, you can repeat it again.

I am an eight-rank official as a freshman.

But you

are just an endmost minor official.

Eight-rank official? Is it powerful?

It's nothing great.

But I won the first place

with my own ability.

But with the support of Tian family in Tongren

So I can get this position.

But you, Ye Xiaotian

you

never have a chance to be this official.

You cherish this eight-rank official position so much?!

Be careful, I will be stronger than you one day.

Right!

I am going to take office.

Remember to visit me at that time.

I am your superior.

Big brother, don't stop me, let me hit him!

Go ahead, I won't stop you.

Yunfei, hit him.

Go ahead.

As the assistant of county magistrate,

you are the second boss in Hu County.

The county magistrate, Hua Qingfeng, is famous of inability.

You have great advantages.

My request is very simple.

You just control Hu County

firmly in your hand.

And expand the impact of Tian family.

This is also a test to you.

If you can make it,

I will provide you more resources for help.

If not,

I will not

give more vigorous supports to you an outsider.

I will do my best to make it.

I won't let you down.

There is a conflict

between you and Ye Xiaotian, right?

Mademoiselle.

I and Ye...

Don't have to explain it.

Your conflict

doesn't matter to me.

I only need you to control Hu County

in your hand.

If he gets in your way,

just kill him.

Remember.

There is only one road in the officialdom

and two kinds of people walking on the road.

One is stepping on other's back, the other is being stepped on.

Do you want to be which one?

It depends on yourself.

Remember, don't let me down.

Yes.

You can leave.

My mademoiselle, you finally bear the pressure from Uncle Three

and arrange him to be an official.

I hope he won't let you down.

No matter he is honest like a dog or fierce like a tiger,

if you want him to listen to you,

I have to give him some benefits.

Whether he will live up to my expectation or not,

Hu County is a test for him.

Big brother, let me make a toast to you.

Congratulation! Now you're a Provincial Graduate.

And get an official position.

May you have a great prospect! Bottom up.

When I walked out from the Capital City,

I just wanted to make some money

to repay my elder brother's debt.

I didn't expect that

I can make such achievements.

It seems

like a dream.

Big brother,

when I was studying in school,

I was dreaming every day.

Didn't you know that?

Life is like a dream.

Right, big brother.

That...

What about your girlfriend?

Big brother.

I

don't mean anything else.

I mean that

it's never too late to have a good meal.

Let's drink.

Let's have a drink.

Let's drink.

My dad

is a warden all his life.

He didn't save much money

although sometimes prisoners would bribe him.

But

But the official of Department of Prison all took them away.

The money that he save the rest of his life

is just enough for we two

to get married.

My brother was born earlier than me

30 minutes.

So

he gets married earlier than me.

But if not,

how can I meet with Yingying?

Big brother,

second brother is right.

It's never too late to have a good meal.

Yep.

Right, big brother.

That is what I mean.

Look.

Yingying is just like a fairy.

When the seventh fairy got married the cowboy,

the Heavenly Queen Mother also

obstructed in every possible way.

Big brother, the same to you.

Now what obstruct you is your father-in-law-to-be.

It's the same.

Big brother, let's drink.

That sounds great.

No matter how hard it is,

you can make it

as long as you're determined.

Come on.

Bottom up!

Come on.

Please.

Waiter!

Serve up your best wine

and best dishes

to us.

Please wait.

Come on.

Boyi!

Congratulation!

From today,

-You have a high official to be. -Shoo.

You can ride a fine horse.

I admire you so much.

I am overpraised.

Qiuchi!

Don't say that.

Qiuchi,

you are well-learned.

If you take part in the examination,

you'll pass it easily.

What

a pity!

You are just a lawyer.

As long as you are a lawyer,

you're not qualified to take the Imperial Examinations for a lifetime.

Boyi, you don't know that.

I am

born in a poor family.

My family need make a living.

How can I study in school at ease?

What I can do

is to be a little lawyer.

But that Ye Xiaotian

was a small jailer in the Capital City.

Such a person of a lower social status

becomes famous and gets an official position.

Qiuchi!

Compared with your experience,

This

is really unfair.

Boyi!

Ye Xiaotian?

Who is he on earth?

When I first met him,

he was an incoming Judicial Clerk in Hu County.

He called himself Ai Feng.

It's him.

I made contact with him

on the case of Qi Mu.

But

I heard that Ai Feng

was dead when the past road was building.

It's fake.

Later

I found out the truth through Tian family.

The real Ai Feng

was killed by bandits

on his way to take office.

The government officials in Hu County

were afraid of being punished by the Imperial Court.

So

asked him to replace.

Later they

pretended he was dead in an accident while on duty.

That is it.

I see.

This person's real name is Ye Xiaotian.

He is used to be a jailer in the Capital City.

Then

he took the place of Ai Feng, a Judicial Clerk.

Later

he got the help of a noble person,

passed the imperial examination at the county level

and becomes a successful candidate in the imperial examinations at the provincial level.

Now he becomes

a real Judicial Clerk.

There is no such a rule!

How dare he do this!

What he did commits the crime of fraud.

If the Imperial Court knows it,

he

will be sentenced to death.

I have thought about these.

But this Ye Xiaotian

has gotten the help of Xia family in the Red Maple Lake.

And I heard that

The Prefectural Magistrate Zhang,

helped him to pass the provincial civil service exam

in confidence.

Think about it.

We have no ability

to offend them.

If I impulsively

inform against him,

I will fall in evil days.

Official Zhang in Tongren

is a minority headman.

This position can be inherited generation by generation.

Unless

we don't want to stay in Guizhou.

Otherwise

we can't offend them.

But

we have nothing to be afraid of

the Xia family from the Red Maple Lake.

Why?

Boyi, you don't know it.

Yesterday a nobleman

asked me to deal with a lawsuit.

He told me that

the Xia family from the Red Maple Lake

is unwilling to marry the baby daughter

to Ye Xiaotian.

And lied to her that

her great-grandmother

is sick

in order to bring her back home

She is under house arrest.

Great!

I got it.

Ye Xiaotian

definitely craves for what he is not worthy of.

It seems

that I have nothing to fear, right?

Moreover,

there is Tian family behind me.

Right!

Come on.

Come on.

Yingying went back home because of a lie.

I'm fine!

It's alright.

I'm fine!

Look!

So happy.

So happy.

Where are you going?

Go for a drink there.

Okay! Let's go!

Yunfei.

Take him home quickly.

To where?

Go home. Big brother.

Go home?

Yingying is not there anymore.

Where is the home?

You two go back.

Big brother!

Leave me alone.

Big brother, look at yourself.

Daheng.

I just want to take a walk alone.

No.

Second brother.

It's okay.

Leave him alone.

Let's go.

Xia's house!

Open the door!

Open the door!

Open the door!

Who are you looking for?

Ask Xia Yingying to see me.

Our mademoiselle has returned to the Red Maple Lake.

She is not here.

You'd better go back.

Not here?

You lie to me!

You lie to me!

Good!

Today

if you don't ask Xia Yingying to see me,

or I am not leaving.

Go quickly.

Okay.

Master,

It's terrible.

Ye Xiaotian is looking for our mademoiselle

at the gate.

This bastard!

Do our family

owe him?!

Let's go!

Uncle.

Uncle.

Uncle.

Dad, what is going on?

What happened?

Why does he carry the sword out?

Ye Xiaotian comes to make troubles at our gate.

Make troubles?

Let's go.

Let's go.

Go! Go! Go!

He won't hit you.

Let me chop you.

Come on!

Dad! Dad! Dad!

Uncle.

Dad, no.

Uncle.

He is the Sect Leader of Voodo Sect.

Father-in-law,

how could you deceive Yingying?

Give back Yingying to me.

This…

His not dead.

He is fainted.

My kung Fu of killing people by one leg

need more practicing.

Get him out!

Lock the door.

Let's go.

It's Ye Xiaotian's loss since he doesn't know you're better.

No.

What are you talking about?

It's none of his business.

None of his business?

Why are you angry at your prey?

Ye Xiaotian!

Hey!

This is Ye Xiaotian?!

He is not as handsome as me.

You are such a loser.

Just because Xia family disagrees you marry Yingying,

you are drunk like a fish.

Stupid.

Father-in-law,

I beg you.

I'm wrong.

If you want me to become an official, I can do it.

I beg you to give Yingying back to me.

I really like Yingying.

I can't live without her.

Ning'er!

Let's go.

If you take care of him,

it will influence your reputation.

Let's go.

I.

How can I leave?

I.

What?

You.

Who are you?

I am the cousin of Ning'er.

An Nantian.

How long have you been here?

Since last night.

Did you...

I have no interest at all.

Where am I?

The bed you slept,

all of these, this is my house.

How can I be here?

Yesterday I went out with Ning'er,

we found you were drunk on the ground.

Ning'er asked me to take you back on my back.

Where is Zhan Ning'er?

Ning'er

has gone back Shiqian.

Don't spit here.

Don't spit here, don't spit here.

This is my bed.

No! No! No!

I am going to take office in Hu county today.

Thank you for your help.

I gotta go.

Is that okay?

He has gone.

Just chase him if you like.

Why are you full of remorse?

Ye Xiaotian!

He saved me in the Thunder God Forbidden Area.

It's not what you think.

We are just

buddies.

We can go through fire and water together.

The hero saved a beauty.

I am so touched.

But

your buddy cannot marry you.

Did I say it wrong?

Lord Xu.

What a coincidence!
