in texas

but noah's about to make a big statement

and gathering data can be the difference

between winning i think she's back

and losing forty thousand dollars

grudge racing is where no prep champions

are truly born ryan fireball

so buckle up

this is no prep kings grudge night

in the first two seasons of no prep

kings

ryan martin came close but just couldn't

win the points championship

and both times he lost it all to texas

ouch

in season one birdman took the

championship

away from him in the very last race in

tulsa

then in season two he had another strong

year

only to lose his points lead and the

championship at the very last race

again this time to mike murillo

but in season three he finally got it

done

and brought the championship home to the

405.05

and one of the biggest reasons for his

success grudge racing

as a team oh man

this is farm truck and asian and it all

began

here in maryland that's right maryland

international race

no there's no more words after me dude

i'm in the mode

i got some serious questions here how's

everybody's car how's your car jeff

don't feel like we worked as a group

obviously we got out played we were

racing each other

and we were not a team everyone those

guys out teamed us yeah just like grudge

racing

they grudge races then they all wouldn't

share data do not grudge race

anybody out of this circle if the nobody

don't let them size us up cause here's

what they're doing they're they're

working on us and they go hey can we

graduate you

and then they go over there and share

the data don't let them use your data

so friday night grudge race time the 405

guys are going to use

all of our data to our advantage and we

plan on kicking

already set up a bunch of grudge races

most of them

are with people outside their circle oh

yeah

and as they probably already realized

racing against other competitors

risks giving away information about how

their cars are running

and about how much power this track can

take that's risky business

there ain't nothing that's gonna slide

any of you need anything

all you got to do is that no matter what

man we got to stick together you got to

man

help each other out and stick together

so first up we've got rich brooder

driving the super fast challenger the

vix ooh catchy name

going up against texas very own birdman

the champion of season one

hell yeah baby one of the deadliest

racers on a no prep track

forty thousand plus forty thousand is

eighty thousand dollars

that's in less than 24 hours

this is definitely a tuner's race

and a driver's race because man i'm

gonna tell you when the sun go

gets on this racetrack it gets greasy

and it gets bad but when the clouds come

over and it cools down in the evening

it's tight boy it is a racetrack you

could be here you could be there you

better be on your game today

i think texas is really making a

statement by putting one of their

heaviest hitters in first

they mean business

vixx has stalled out on the line and

lost his chance to see how he stacks up

against birdman

and birdman gets to make a free pass

down the track

while birdman puts down a lick and sends

a message to

everyone don't mess with texas

i mean sometimes mess with texas not

with birdman

dixon is a fast car i really thought he

was gonna

be a contender something happened to him

ain't nobody here doing that

a couple of seasons back marilla showed

everyone he was one of the best when he

won the no prep

kings points championship the second

texas racer to win

yep it's a bad bad car right here

i am proud to introduce to you

the 15-time world champion mike morillo

and now he's the second texas racer down

the track

and i'd guess he's hoping to show

everyone

that his championship wasn't a fluke and

that his

car lafonda is the real deal that's not

the name of his car bro

it really is wow okay and he's raising

ohio's disco dean

in stinky pinky another ridiculous name

disco dean spent the off season

overhauling his hot pink chevelle

including a new engine new transmission

and upgrading the suspension

sounds like he's gonna sell it clean one

owner

and now he'll get a chance to gain some

intel on one time

champ mike morillo and see how his car

compares

and mike murillo ain't just making

pillows

yeah a disappointing start for both of

these guys

stinky pinky dead hook the tires

and that threw him into the wheelie bars

and ended that run for him

that could be one or two things too much

power or too

little power on a very sticky track

happens to the best of us

in the other lane meru also hooked

instantly and went dead right

he sure didn't scare anyone with that

past but at least he got a little data

and maybe he can come back later with a

better tune

grudge night is for trying new things

after all

i think they're probably trying a little

too much at the moment

kayla morton is showing up tonight with

a lot of confidence her car

may be the hot mess express but she is

not feeling like a mess tonight

that may be true but once again this is

a texas racer going up against someone

who isn't on their team

it's the axe man in his 63 twin turbo

nova these two raced once in julia and

axe man chopped down kayla in round one

i remember that

and now she's looking for some

redemption

how do you want to do that we're racing

feel kind of unstoppable

everybody that's where it's got to be

team okc puts their team-only racing

strategy

their own grudge night plan

wow i never saw him

i know we were both super skaty but i

was not gonna let him come around me i

knew on the last pedal he wasn't

catching me

so i feel really good right now hey i

was not going to let him come around me

driving your hands off jump

so that's three passes for team texas

and three chances to find out what kind

of tune

works on this track kayla just pushed

the limit on how much power

the track can hold and that'll be

valuable info for her and her team

especially for mike marilla who made a

very poor pass

but you also got to remember each of

those passes

also give away some info to another

racer

and in a world where data is king

letting other racers see your cards

is always dangerous

when chuck brought up the grudge racing

and i totally agree with the guy about

not grudging anybody out of the 405

because there are teams and teams use

each other's

data their numbers all the information

they can gather from your car

they're going to share it with everybody

else so they may piss a lot of people

off

but in the end it's the smartest move

finally it's time for our people to make

some passes

it's 405 versus 405.

okc is using a simple strategy only

racing teammates so no one else can keep

track of how fast their cars are going

plus

they're all sharing data with each other

because knowledge

is power and for an added bonus they let

texas make the first passes of the night

and you know they were watching and

taking notes on what the cars were

doing and how much power they could put

down the more you know

the faster you can go

and that's how you do it those look like

the fastest passes of the night so far

which sends a clear message to texas

we're not messing around plus they

didn't even give anything away

only dave and monza and jesus know

exactly how fast those passes were

keeping it in the 405 family and heaven

you've been up there you've been

watching everybody

you think everybody's following like the

meeting that we had like everybody's

helping each other i feel like we

think so i think so i feel like it i

mean

you know those guys just i mean really

dave made a good hit too mozar just

edged him out yeah

so both of those cars look good so i

mean those are two like big-time

contenders yeah

there was some strategy in the last

couple of seasons with guys trying to

size other guys up

figure out what they needed to do to

outrun another guy or whatever the case

is we're gonna try to put a stop to that

it's going to be 405 tesla's 405 and

we're going to use each other's data to

try to make each other better

to get top of this game

all right another pair of our guys

headed down the track

two very heavy hitters jeff lutz and

ryan martin

and you know ryan is out here ready to

make a statement

he and the rest of the 405 need to stay

competitive and really test

their cars tonight and all eyes are on

ryan martin for his first trip down the

track

most of those eyes are ladies i'll tell

you that

yeah he's a ladies man yeah i guess so

lutz got all out of shape and had to

lift but ryan martin

doing what ryan martin does best turns

on the win

it was a great great starting point i'll

dude looks like our plan is working to a

it's all oklahoma 405 405 everybody

that's all we got to do don't let those

guys size you up don't let them

let them get in your head

two races down and the 405 versus 405

strategy looks like it's working well

they're keeping all of their data to

themselves and showing off some very

strong passes

so the team texas team oklahoma thing

has gotten really intense

we kicked their ass in the street we're

here to kick their ass at no prep

they can claim all the work crying

excuse bolt they want

let's just look and see who wins more

races throughout the season

and up next it's dock in the street

beast up against

dominator in his pro-charge dart doc has

had issues in the past

trying to figure out the right gear

combinations to run with his giant 959

cubic inch motor

all right struggling

or dominator i struggled

well a lot

but with the 405 behind them these guys

are hoping to show

that they're turning things around

he tried to put too much power down and

almost went into the wall

yeah and anyone who's paying attention

might be thinking that he's still

figuring out his new setup

and may be a driver to go after now he's

gonna have to decide whether or not

to find another grudge race and just how

much he wants the competition to see

if we can all stick together as a team

we're gonna knock more team texas cars

out of this

the day that they get their ass kicked

but listen texas and okc aren't the only

teams out there

there's still plenty of other

competitive drivers to watch out for

like jerry bird from new orleans and his

ford probe

last year we fought uh new car blues uh

we kept going out first round trying to

get the car figured out

it's not like last year going out first

round we're gonna make a statement this

year

while we've seen other racers team up

nola hasn't started working together yet

so while jerry bird and kelly blue ball

are still fast

they don't have a group of racers

standing behind them and helping them

out

they're looking to show off what they

can do on their own

this year is totally different because

everybody's working as teams

i get it you're trying to make it to the

next round but me as a racer i want to

out run the best and beat the best to be

the best

it's a strong pass from jerry bird in

his probe he clicks it off early and

takes the win

well it's dark it won't start now i

never started it when i put the two

numbers in i should have started after i

put the junior

and i never did it won't start

it's it's a learning curve and so ryan's

been looking over my shoulder

making sure i do everything right all

one of us is going to win one of us is

going to win the championship so ryan's

the major advantages of having a team

is that you can ask for help when you

saved chuck's bacon he was lucky to have

ryan as a friend to help out with his

tune and now he's ready to put it to the

test against another okc

racer chuck 55. that'll help ryan too

because you know after this pass chuck

is going to give him another look at his

computer

so they can both learn about the depth

trap and what it did on the track

our new 55 car is not quite finished yet

so we brought a flatliner car 1968

camaro

pro charge we can't skip a race so we

brought in to see what we can do

with a little help from his friend ryan

chuck ran a tune that he used on the

street but it didn't go so well for him

on the track

that was definitely one of the weaker

passes we've seen from the 405.

and with chuck 55 not even making it off

the line these guys probably have

targets on their backs moving forward

i guess two chucks may not make a right

on grudge night every single racer is

out here looking for data

but some are also looking to settle

grudges for big money

nola racer kai kelly is back on the no

prep track in his shocker camaro and

he's looking to show off his recent

upgrades

he changed out the 903 him against motor

for a 959

in it got five kits on it got a

three-speed transmission from mark

mickey

everything that we could possibly do to

make a nitrous car the best of the best

we did it we've come a long way

we want to make it safe

tonight he's lining up against justin

swanstrom also known

as little country he's well-known racer

from florida

and he actually runs an identical setup

to kaikeli

a 959 cubic inch pat mucy motor

on nitrous there's been a lot of talk

between kai kelly and little country

online and then kai kelly told him

straight up

put your money where your mouth is five

thousand dollars to be exact

little country goes around kai kelly for

the win light in the 5

000 i'd be dancing too

so we've been doing a lot of testing the

car has been making hit after hit after

hit consecutive like a bracket car

i like in a grudge race a little country

we line up in the beans i'm leaving

i'm gapping

all of a sudden something electrical

happens fills the hole inside the car

with smoke

a little country comes around me it's

hard to accept a loss like that but the

end of the day

he won the race i got to try to fix my

car oh

poor kai kelly gives away that five

grand and he's got some work to do

fixing up the shocker

but at least he's got some data from the

track which is sometimes more valuable

than money

but not in this case my name is uh

giuseppe gentile i'm from southern

california and i drive a

twin turbo 2004 mustang

we got all the best pieces we can gather

up to come out here and

run on the east coast and do what we got

to do

giuseppe is one of the only racers in

maryland who came

all the way from the west coast but he's

got himself a fast twin-turbo mustang

and he's definitely a competitor he's

lining up with carmen damiani

from philly east versus west

that's a solid pass from giuseppe and

after that he knows that this track can

take a lot of power

having made a good pass is especially

important for a racer without a team

he's far from home but should be feeling

pretty good by now

mike murillo is back on the track for

the second time tonight

and earlier tonight he raced disco dean

his car went right and he had to lift

now he's looking to set things straight

with a fast pass against dwayne mills

who drives

golden kong that dwayne mills is another

racer who's been talking a big game

on the internet and mike murillo is

hoping to shut him

up and for an undisclosed amount give a

guess asian

uh probably three dollars that's big

money to you to me

and me but not to these guys okay four

dollars

they said they had the better bitch here

they showed it the one time

champ is looking a bit rusty and i know

a thing or two about rust

maybe he's just working out the kinks

it's definitely too early to rest on a

driver who surprised everyone in the

past

did not go as planned but very very

tight track

we're not used to this type of track but

uh we know what to do with the with the

chassis and the shocks and so we'll be

all right

and now we have two more okc drivers doc

love and our very own

jeff lutz team 405 is still sticking to

their plan

to keep racing each other and so far so

good

but neither of these racers have made

very good passes tonight so they're

looking to show off some adjustments

chuck said no more graduation texas

we don't want those guys to size us up

we need to stick within

keep it in the group and you know what

if one of us is hurt

we need to help each other out you know

what i'm so damn pumped that happened

chuck said it all and it's perfect

his cool and staying in it to get the

wind light

that's a nice driving out of lutz

this is farm truck and asia we're always

rooting for dominator

and tonight he's aiming to make a fresh

start

and now he's hoping to keep that

momentum in his race against check 5.

chuck 55 has hoped to make his first

pass of the night

after he couldn't get off the line

against the other chuck

a lot of chucks around if he cannot make

a pass now

he's going to be an easy target

oh

it was a little better news for chuck 55

who managed to make a pass

that he could build off of dominar

didn't do quite as well as earlier

tonight but he does have data from two

passes

and now he can get with the rest of the

405 to talk about what they've learned

about the track and make improvements

no prep is really a tuners game and

every pass can

every track is different the atmosphere

conditions is different at every

every place we go to so um getting a

tune and getting it right

um you know is it is tricky as much as

we're traveling all across the u.s so um

doing a couple grudge races uh tells us

what we need to do

so team texas have seen the 405 line up

against each other

all night and finally they seem to be

catching on

eric bain is out here with a brand new

car most of us racers have never seen it

run

and now no one outside of team texas

will be able to find out exactly what it

can do

right whether it makes a blistering fast

pass

or has some issues texas isn't giving

any data away

here we are maryland built a new car you

know everyone knows me from the small

town mustang uh boosted ego

finally came into class on big tires

built a 72 camaro

it's got a real tire under it and we

came to you know give these guys a run

for the money for once and all you know

you saw eric bane leave way too early

right there

good pass the team's shaking bank

guess what i made a full pass

i was just a little early on the lot

the bottom was fast better 60 30 good

we'll get one more round of data and

hopefully y'all can sort through that

i think we are

so the plan for the 405 is to only race

each other

but our guys have opened up the circle

to include some racers they may trust

mr cali chris poncia is obviously from

california but he's been working with

ryan martin from the 405 and his team

for years

and we all trust him the whole team

strategy it works

team texas last year they bonded

together came in at the last minute help

merulo

with this new whole team strategy going

on it goes beyond that

i have extended my teammates my crew

chief everybody in my pits

is welcome to help anybody from the and

it needs to be like that we all need to

work together our crews

the drivers everything needs to come

together

daddy dave made a nice clean pass

earlier against monza

even though he didn't take the win

he's never one to settle i'm sure he's

looking for a little more on this packs

every grudge race comes with a risk and

since dave was leaking something down

the track

he couldn't make a hit cali chris gets

solo pass

not a great race for anyone really

poncia is going to have to go back and

see if he can figure out why he got so

loose

while dave is gonna have to see if he

can get his car fixed in time to make

another pass or if he's done for the

night

we got a brand new car this year brand

new mistress 66 chevy two

it's a bad bitch earlier tonight

texas sean wilfeld went up against

kentucky racer

b-rad in his car luma nasty

and even though that went well shawn is

back for another grudge race this time

against the vixen

once again it's a texas racer going up

against someone

who is not on their team possibly

letting the competition

find out what it's gonna take to beat

them

texas is coming again we have one more

grudge race set up was one of the

fastest cars on the property

we got vixen they're no slouch

we're gonna go we're gonna go read our

data we're gonna put more power in the

car

we're gonna see what's gonna take

mr vixen is also coming to the line for

the second time tonight but last time he

wasn't able to make a pass against

birdman

this is his second chance to find out

what texas can do on this track

ah

turn the car up we got to make a good

pass on him right at 660 feet

big pop and uh knocked three rods out of

the motor

hey if you want to make a pass you can

you're already up here

that's a disappointing race for rich

brooder who didn't get off the line

cleanly again

that's two four passes tonight and other

racers have to be wondering if he's a

duck

it wasn't much better for sean wilhoit

who put on a bit of a fireworks show at

the end of the track

and probably has some repairs to do

he kept dripping center and i couldn't

get it back over

no that's when i lost it next in grudge

race we decided to line up against cody

gonna try to grudge race each other

instead of the opposing teams

i thought i was i was trying to pull it

back over

i feel like wasting our grudge passes

against

people from the opposing teams shows all

of our cards

they know if we uh beat them by a car

leak

that that's how much faster they're

going to need to go in eliminations

it's not necessary to show your whole

hand so early

so we need to wait till eliminations and

not let them know how fast we are

that hot mess express lived up to the

express part of its name

and kayla should be feeling better than

ever

hell yeah that's a good pass that's a

good pass right there that pass showed

that kayla

has a handle on this track and as an

added bonus

only her teammates knows exactly what

her car can do

my pass felt super super fast

and i'm super excited about it

made two solid licks today

right down broadway

we're almost at the end of the night but

daddy dave manages to bring his car back

to the line

for the third time he had a close race

against monza but then couldn't even get

off the line against chris poncia

because of a leak

and now he got that fixed up and he's

ready to make one final run to get some

data for himself in the rest of the 405.

whatever dave did worked and he made a

solid pass

he's gonna be feeling pretty good right

now but

he's not the last 405 driver making a

hit tonight

in the final race of the night our boy

ryan martin

is looking for a little more information

about what the fireball can do

on this track he's racing another okc

confidant

mr robin roberts and hoping to end the

night

on a high streak

oh

only thing i could say is that i've got

some good data on the track

i know where to start but at least i got

a hot rod and

we're going to be racing so that's a

good thing about it how did you do i i i

see you didn't win but how'd the car do

fine until that last 60 feet yeah but

it's working yeah

until there i think it's chopping the

tires

and it's in tall gear yeah we're gonna

keep testing with you buddy

yep that's all we can do we'll get it

grudge night is over and the decision to

work together as a team

pays off for the 405 in the main event

all right marilyn are y'all ready to get

this party started

three okc drivers made it to the

semifinals

this whole teamwork thing i mean it

actually works out that's how you make a

statement boys

proving that together they can go

further

number one giuseppe gentile racing robin

so that means daddy dave is racing ryan

martin

ryan martin did especially well he

learned how much power the track could

take

and use that information to beat murillo

and then beat dave to get to the finals

it's gonna start raining should i put

the awning out but rain came and

ended the night pushing the final race

to be

at the next event in new hampshire which

means those grudge races will even be

more important

adjusts their grudge racing strategy to

stay competitive

making a couple garage races tells us

what to do for the main event well maybe

i can 60 foot and be in front when all

the hell breaks loose on yours

while the 405 continues to only race

each other

after their success in maryland ryan

martin

all the way up against the wall you've

got to win this deal so

yeah there's a funny thing i can do and

the nola drivers see the writing on the

wall and have to decide if they can work

together as a team

he was even slick once i let off the gas

it was slick

because on grudge night every pass

matters we're struggling today
