Dear Herbal Lord Season 2

Episode 10

Look.

She said it can keep me safe.

Then you must always carry it with you.

It's embroidered by my beloved daughter.

I must keep it well.

I can't take it with me.

Do you mean

the pouch embroidered by her

is even more important than your life?

Yes.

It's more important than my life.

She gave you a part of her true form

but still failed to keep you alive.

Lord Jiang,

trust me.

I'm determined

to win this battle.

You're awake.

You're injured.

Don't move around.

Where is it?

It's my home.

Don't worry.

It's safe here.

Luckily, Long Bai arrived in time when things happened.

You couldn't have escaped from that formation

by yourself without any help.

Alright.

Take the medicine.

Thank you.

You're welcome.

If you and Herbal Lord

hadn't saved us that day,

Long Bai and I

couldn't come this far today.

What's wrong?

What happened to you guys?

Nothing.

How did you find me?

It's Long Bai.

He heard from some people in town

about Lord Jiang going over to the enemy.

He's worried that you may get in trouble,

so he went to Jiang Residence to check out

and then saved you.

Xiaoyan,

thank you.

But

I still have something important to do.

I have to go to the Herbal Lord Valley.

I'm afraid

you can't do that.

You're back.

You're seriously injured.

You need a good rest.

Just stay here for now.

But…

Nowadays, a defensive formation has been set up there.

How could you go back?

How are things going in town?

The Jiang family's property has been confiscated.

All servants have been taken into custody.

And you're being wanted by the government.

Besides,

the one who put a talisman against you is still…

Herbal Lord doesn't want me.

I can't go back home.

And my dad…

But I gave him an amulet.

How could he…

Miss Jiang,

don't do that.

I beg you.

Take me to see Herbal Lord.

I want to see my dad for the last time.

Please!

Please help me.

Herbal Lord,

since the war started,

we've won many times,

but we suffered a lot during the last battle.

Considering that Red Fire and Daxing end in a deadlock,

I'm afraid

it'll be to our disadvantage

if it goes on like this.

Exactly.

It's getting colder and colder.

The climate in Red Fire is quite different from that in Daxing.

If we fail to fight a quick battle,

we'll be knocked down by the bad weather

before Red Fire army attacks us.

Xuhuai.

Here.

How many provisions and fodder do we still have?

They're enough to support us for one more month.

But if it's longer…

Where is Herbal Lord?

Who are you?

How dare you eavesdrop on us?

I'm here for Herbal Lord.

How dare you?

Put your swords back.

Long Bai is one of us.

Herbal Lord, if you're tied up,

I can wait here for you.

Herbal Lord,

what we're talking about is confidential. How can an outsider…

It's okay.

You must be talking about how to defeat Red Fire.

It's not worth eavesdropping.

You've got a good idea, right?

Yes,

but it's dangerous,

especially for you.

Please go ahead.

In the final analysis, the war broke out because of Yuwen Ling.

The chieftain of Red Fire Tribe had a son at his old age.

Once Yuwen Ling was born,

he's been considered the hope of the tribe.

However,

he was badly injured by you

when he paid a visit to Daxing with gifts.

The chieftain was so angry

that he started the war.

What you said is known to us.

Say something we don't know.

Okay.

As you wish.

It seems that

Yuwen Ling was injured by Herbal Lord,

but actually, it's not as simple as you think.

He had been cultivating

by sucking humans' vital essence.

Gradually, he got possessed by the Devil

and began to suffer from backfire.

If you cure him,

the chieftain of Red Fire is sure to withdraw troops.

Then you don't need to rack your brains

in front of the military sand table.

The idea sucks.

If Herbal Lord goes to treat Yuwen Ling,

it's like we throw him to the wolves.

He'll be killed.

What can we do

if Red Fire Tribe turns their back?

Lord Jiang has sacrificed.

If anything happens to Herbal Lord,

we won't have any leader.

By then, we're bound to lose.

Is that what you want?

No problem.

Herbal Lord,

please think twice.

If I can prevent the common people of

Daxing City and Red Fire Tribe

from flames of war

so that they can live in peace,

I'll have no regret

even if I have to die.

Herbal Lord, you're worthy of your name.

I admire you.

This time,

I'll stay with you and protect you.

What brings you here?

The thing you want to know.

How…

How's everything going with her?

I'm wondering who you mean by “her”.

Jiang Qingyun.

It turns out it's not her wishful thinking.

She cried and said that you don't want her anymore.

I planned

not to mention her

if you really don't care about her.

She…

She cried?

She cried bitterly.

Has she been having a rough time lately?

As soon as the news spread to Daxing City

that Lord Jiang passed away,

he was considered a traitor.

The Jiang family's property has been confiscated

and Jiang Qingyun is being wanted.

Xiao Rui.

But don't worry.

She's safe.

Xiaoyan is looking after her.

Thank you. I really appreciate it.

Just think I returned the favor.

So,

you regret it?

Why would you leave

if you knew she'd suffer so much?

I never regret it.

I'm not the right one for her.

If she stayed with me,

she wouldn't live a happy life, either.

If you really think so,

why are you looking so sad?

I just feel sorry for her.

People always have

so-called misgivings and worries.

It seems

you're no exception.

If you love her,

just tell her how you feel.

You think you did that to protect her,

but actually, you just pushed her away.

You said you don't want her to get hurt,

but in my opinion,

you just made her get hurt.

I have only one question.

Will you abandon Miss Jiang

if she is short-lived?

Of course not.

I'll stay with her till the end.

Then why don't you believe

your beloved loves you the same?

Even if you don't want to marry me,

please take it.

Okay?

It was the same case for me and Xiaoyan.

Under the control of Yuwen Ling,

I thought she wouldn't get hurt if I drove her away.

But unexpectedly,

Xiaoyan had to suffer more

because of what I had done.

Forget about it.

I said those words just to tell you

not to repeat the same mistake as I made.

Cherish her.

Ling, what's wrong?

Get away.

Ling.

Ling.

Medicine.

The medicine prepared by High Priest!

Give it to me.

Hurry.

Get the medicine here.

Got it.

Ling.

Dad, I want the medicine.

Don't be afraid.

Son.

Herbal Lord,

the reinforcements have been arranged.

They're lying in ambush near the hall.

They'll take clarion calls as the signal.

This is a dangerous task.

Be careful.

Got it.

Chieftain.

Chieftain.

Herbal Lord of Daxing wants to see you.

He said he'll treat Prince Ling.

Chu Zhimo came here at this moment?

He's crying crocodile tears.

Ask him to get lost!

Got it.

Wait!

How many guys is Chu Zhimo here with?

Only two guards.

Only two?

Are you sure?

Yes.

He's waiting outside the hall.

Let him in.

Got it.

Herbal Lord,

shouldn't you be training your troops in barracks?

Why are you here

in our territory?

It's true I'm a military general of Daxing,

but I'm also Herbal Lord.

It's my duty to cure the sick and save the dying.

Don't try to fool me!

If you were really kind-hearted,

you couldn't have injured

my son so seriously.

I did that back then

just to save my beloved.

In my opinion,

you look down upon Red Fire Tribe

and is taking the chance to provoke troubles.

That day,

it's Prince Yuwen Ling that proposed a fight.

If you don't believe,

you can ask Helian Yong about it.

Besides,

Prince Yuwen Ling is seriously injured

not because of me.

Nonsense!

Prince Ling.

Prince Ling.

Here is the medicine.

Here is the medicine.

Medicine.

Medicine.

Medicine.

Medicine.

Medicine.

Be careful, Prince Ling.

If you want Yuwen Ling to die sooner,

just let him take that.

Chieftain,

the medicine can't cure him,

but I can.

How is he doing?

He has abdominal angina, right?

Each time it happens,

his chest and stomach are swollen

and the whole body is cold

expect the soles of his feet.

How…

How did you know that?

Every night, the symptoms are especially obvious.

It itches all over the body,

but if he scratches,

black and blue spots will show up.

That's right.

Over the days,

it happened to Prince Ling every night.

Do you know about the disease?

It sounds like he's poisoned with caterpillar fungus.

Right.

Prince Ling is poisoned with caterpillar fungus,

so he needs others' vital essence

to nourish it.

That day when I fought with Prince Ling,

the one under his control was pushed out of his body

and the caterpillar fungus lost the origin of nutrients.

That's why Prince Ling's appearance changed

and it itched and hurt all over the body

when the poison attacked him.

When the caterpillar fungus absorbs all the essence of the host,

Prince Ling will die at once.

The medicine he took

can just numb his senses

for the time being

to relieve the pain.

That's why he relied on it so much.

So, you're just deceiving yourselves

and he'll die anyway.

Herbal Lord,

please save my son!

I'll give it a try.

What are the conditions?

As Herbal Lord,

it's my duty to practice medicine and save patients.

But

I need your trust and cooperation.

I trust you.

To get rid of the poison,

the best guiding drug is…

Herbal Lord,

what's going on?

Don't worry.

It's normal to see it when the caterpillar fungus leaves his body.

Get a wet blanket

and cover Prince Ling with it.

Then get some live charcoal to warm him.

Make the fire burn up.

The hotter it is in the room, the better.

Okay. Hurry.

Do as he said.

Got it.

Do you have a pen and paper?

Yes. On the table.

Here.

Fill this prescription.

Let him take medicine every four hours.

He may throw up after three times.

After that, cut the dosage by half

and let him take it three more times.

Then he'll be alright.

Chieftain, his pulse is even.

Herbal Lord, thank you for saving my son.

Please rise.

Now that I'm known as Herbal Lord,

I have to perform my duty.

Herbal Lord,

you have a benevolent mind.

I'm sincerely convinced.

I can save Prince Ling,

but with a benevolent mind,

you can save all the common people.

I've ordered to withdraw troops.

I promise you

Red Fire will never rival against Daxing.

Thank you, Chieftain.

Herbal Lord, you've saved Red Fire Tribe

by saving my son.

To be honest,

I have something to discuss with you.

Herbal Lord,

please go ahead.

I hope you can hand over

the accounts between Red Fire and Daxing in recent years

and a list of persons-in-charge to me.

Daxing has some internal affairs

to deal with.

That's easy.

I'll send someone to get it for you.

Let's say goodbye here.

Xuhuai,

take the ceasefire agreement back.

After Red Fire Tribe withdraws troops,

you lead the army back the same way you came.

Got it.

Where are you going?

Now that the war has come to an end,

I'll go deal with something important.

It seems you'll go to see someone important.

I'm glad you made this decision.

But to go to Daxing City from here,

even at top speed, it'll take…

So,

every minute counts.

No.

Don't kill my dad.

No. Don't.

Don't. Don't kill my dad!

Don't touch me!

Don't be afraid.

It's me.

Chu Zhimo.

Is it you?

I'm back.

Chu Zhimo.

Why are you crying?

See? I'm back.

For you plants,

what matters most is water content, right?

Stop crying, okay?

I thought I'd never have a chance to see you again.

I thought…

I thought you've abandoned me.

Silly girl.

You're my medicine.

How could I abandon you?

If you leave me,

I'll get heartbroken.

You deserve it,

because you tried to forget me.

It's all my fault.

I shouldn't have said those harsh words.

I shouldn't have pushed you away.

I promise you.

I'll never leave you again.

I'll always stay with you.

Please forgive me, Woad.

No. I won't.

I won't forgive you.

All you do is to bully me.

Alright.

I agree to whatever you say.

Stop crying.

You're back.

So,

how about my dad?

It's not a nightmare.

My dad is really dead.

It's my fault.

I should've taken better care of him.

I promise you.

I'll stay with you forever

in his stead.

Even death

can't separate us.
