we've got a really really fun day today

our buddy John welborne is coming by

with his 67 c10 he's this gigantic dude

look at this cherry bomb oh yeah so this

is a my 67 c10 is clean looks pretty

solid we got it from this old farmer who

bought it brand-new really Wow yeah look

at this thing I'm John welborne and I

brought my 67 Chevy c10 to the Martin

brothers for a customization drove it to

town you like you never put anything in

the bed there's not a dent everything's

complete a Chevy c10 is an iconic truck

I think every red-blooded American

should have at least two of them okay

we're gonna put a passel o go on here

cheese John was an offensive tackle in

the NFL so he was a force to be reckoned

with just white he played for the Eagles

the Chiefs and most importantly the

Patriots

what motor you think now I'm in doing a

lot of cross so I want to do something

reliable fuel injection how are you

looking for I mean I think in today's

market anything less than 600 is kind of

like lotion yet or your interior wheels

maybe a seat that doesn't have you slide

to the other side everything under the

hood be ready look at that power house

oh man that's crazy man look at that

it's what a trip well it's so solid man

so you got any vision you got any

thoughts oh yeah yeah hey I think we

should you know do some sheet metal work

want something to stop this thing crunch

yeah I think it'd be cool - John if

you're gonna use on the track move that

motor back okay I think if we push that

firewall back and then probably what we

can do too is move us tote board's

forward for your height okay so you're

not knocking your knees under the - yeah

that's nice this is gonna be a really

big challenge for the guys appreciate it

man let's pull it inside sounds great

cool if you're gonna live here in Texas

and want a custom car you also got to

bring it - and I think they're gonna do

an amazing job with the c10 I think it's

gonna be kick-ass truck

then draw up John's a c10 truck and get

some ideas for what's gonna look like

everybody Texas loves trucks and this

generation of Chevy trucks is really on

fire right now the trucks gonna be

primarily prepared for auto cross racing

but he wants it comfortable too so I'll

do it nice interior in there ac modern

gauges modern lighting inside pretty

much everything on this truck is gonna

change main thing is frame so we use the

stock frame we've got a box down out of

bracing a lot of cross members a lot of

tubing work to tie it all together gonna

be able to get big wheels in there a lot

of meat on the ground gotta have the big

brakes and above all got that big power

cool most kind of high-tech inside

low-tech outside the fit him in that

legs or as long as I am talking of the

major things we foresee being a problem

is just literally a size of this guy six

to move the floorboards for so just get

his legs in there to be a lift once we

get it set up you know I have John come

over and check it out and fitting pork

as somebody when they put the brake on

we've got a lot of new guys to the shop

we just brought a great new fabricator

in can and he doesn't say anything's

quiet all day and he's just head down

and working stuff he turns out fantastic

Brandon's a fantastic fabricator he's a

potty man he's a painter great attention

to detail and he's just a stickler for

perfection justin is a fantastic

interior guy he does all the sewing he

does the stitching so he's a great

seamstress for the band we got DJ and

Nick DJ's a young guy that this knows a

bunch of stuff for his age and it's a

great parts guy we also got our buddy

Dave detective Dave retired police

officer from Dallas area open hand

there's a great addition to the teams we

have to disassemble this truck

completely down to bare bones we're

getting the frame blasted and so we got

to get get it ready for the blaster

the bid off the 67 c10 it's actually

looking really good everything's really

solid doesn't look like I've ever been

hit that's one of the key things you

know these old farm trucks and get

abused a lot and the frames get bent

really nice really it's original spare

we're gonna definitely reuse these I'll

probably do a little bit of modification

to them come in here and do a little

Martin brother touch to it

sure I think painters locate up there

not that that's clean man yeah that's in

good shape brother truck son really get

you the answer is nice man nice for the

most part I'm really pleased how there's

trucks looking as we're selling it down

next thing is we'll get the cab off and

then we'll start disassembling the frame

and get it ready for Colin the sand

blessed veto bills like the c10 we're

gonna be removing a lot which is

actually a lot of opportunity for us to

make some money you know this engine is

great they drove it in it's got a

straight six three on the tree there's

nothing wrong with it

somebody somewhere needs that engine and

when it comes to reselling some of these

older pieces there's one person that

comes to mind mister BAM the brown look

what the cat dragged in oh my lord look

at this nasty race I can't see you

were tearing down a c10 and had a

six-cylinder which actually Bama was

looking for it's not this junky motor

think it was this used in abuse oh

that's pretty used damn

hammer this'll mean buzzing half-dozen

right here we're trying to sell this old

c10 into our buddy Pamela and Steve and

these guys are always trying to give us

a hard time but there's an engines

actually in really good shape

what do you know about the motor just go

get it running it runs great man no

kiddin runs fantastic

they're good motors ain't no doubt about

that what kind of transitions that come

with it again you know I don't know how

to tell Bama you can take it home and

start this torque that direction we

think Bama 300 bucks 350 350 we doin up

go in the 300 it'd be if it's running

driving fair runs great 300m over we're

partners now so I'll make any decision

from there so like the upholstery work

it's something that's originally kind of

one of the things we start off with well

let's look at it like what do you have

in our minds I like to update it a

little bit on the upholstery uh-huh it's

nice interior but maybe give it a more

contemporary look and the other thing

was the exhaust tips yeah they're not

quite torque on that agent just keeps

making a vibration yeah are you wanting

to hide them up underneath there a

little bit you know I kinda want to

leave that to Joe and tell you how he

could make such a baby one-off type deal

yeah Joe he's got a tremendous vision

for taking an idea that's in his head

and then making it happen okay cool

his car is gorgeous so Lauren Joe has

two items on his to-do list yes hood and

exhaust yes

and what's cool about Lorenzo he wants

Joe to do his thing if you can't do your

thing

I know his creative hands he's gonna be

the front suspension off at the rear

suspension al motor and trans are gone

scuttled maybe two three more bullets

left and it'll be down to a bare frame

frame rails will be good to go

soon enough and little chunk hit me and

think we all dodged a bullet on that one

we got our 67 c10 frame all tore down so

now we just gotta get outside blasted

back to white back to white get it

looking as good as we can and add all of

our modern goodies to it just want to

get everything cleaned up once we do

that we get all these cross members out

of here and put it on our frame table

and start boxing it in

we've got a big day on the 6-3

split-window pit we're actually gonna

deal with the stance a little bit get

the car down in the front a little bit

we're gonna go with a updated wheel and

buy some redline tires but one of the

modifications were gonna get into is

this hood to lower it to bring this down

Brandon will probably do most of the

modifications on here it's gonna be a

big undertaking and then what do you

think I'm gonna put a tape line up here

so I can measure and make sure I have

that same rate cuz I'm gonna measure

this real quick and see what that

distance is and see what the drop is

yeah and then I'm gonna replicate that

on this and then cut once that's this is

we're gonna have like five hour just

laying the tape out measure many times

crossmembers put in like when they

needed to make this frame super strong

and you know he's got this big giant

motor he's putting in so we need to make

sure that the frame is able to handle it

got it takes care everything

we're cutting the firewall out of the

truck we're gonna build a firewall for

where we know the motors gonna move back

and this is probably six or eight inches

in the frame for weight transfer so

we're gonna cut it all out and that way

we know we're gonna plenty of room so

we're going to pre-cut it before we set

the motor in and then it'll give us an

idea where everything is gonna go there

he goes had a perfectly good firewall

well one thing about it brother it don't

matter if homeboys six foot or seven

foot

you got like a one-size-fits-all hole

here yeah cuz you know what I mean like

this and the motors gonna be back in

here beep you start moving the motor

back four to six inches it can affect a

lot of things he wants a way back just

for weight transfer mmm-hmm you change

one little thing and it may have

affected ten things down the road and

what we'll see we'll see what are you

thinking about this is the 3/4 inch chop

when I start work on the interior that

cutting that bad boy off will mold it in

we get ready start on Lorenzo 63 bit

exhaust system we're gonna drop this car

down and get the stand set right and

then we had some exhaust tips that were

poking out there are crooked just just

kind of weird looking so we're gonna go

back me and Mike good tune everything up

make all new pieces out of stainless

we're just gonna get everything where

it's tucked up you know see it hanging

down and just get everything kind of

streamlined little bit Lorenzo's

definitely not gonna one drive is from

the church driving a bit Church with

these mufflers on it a sin they saying

not to get sin not to receive nothing

but you see we've got our structure for

the frame in which gives it just

superior strength you know and so

basically what we'll do is we'll come in

here and we'll make cross members

basically just to tie the two rails

together and also we'll put a drive

shaft safety loop it just gives the

frame all that you know takes that

torsional flex away and just makes it

very strong all right let's cut those

and then let's get the bed over here man

we got a big car show coming up it's

called the Corvette invasion and learns

oh called us and said he wants to bring

the 63 Vette to this event which is

gonna be cool but it's like a week and a

half away

oh there's definitely a lot to do on the

car oh yeah I miss I miss old reg we've

been keeping her protected in here

hopefully you guys will thrash and we'll

get this thing knocked out nice so I got

your seat kind of cut down mocked up I

like what you did there with you know

make it a little shorter back oh yeah

that looks a lot better already

we know that with that saying it fits

like a glove that's common with it's not

like that that's been my more support so

it feels like it's ready to go to the

Corvette invasion it's coming up and

real quick so I'd love to be able to get

this thing there possible the immediate

this is an indication of what its gonna

look like when it's done I'm pretty

excited so then it ain't the prettiest

thing on there but it'll know I but I

can tell it's gonna be nice he says like

the big improvement I can feel it

already so awesome I really like what

they've done there because it's more of

a modern look

they've contoured it giving me a lot

more support so I feel like I'm sitting

in the car I'm where I'm supposed to be

right there you know it feels like it

right now so I can only imagine what its

gonna look like when they've got

upholstery on it so it's gonna be pretty

exciting for the car it's gonna be I

think it's a view spectacular where

they've done with the interior on it

danced bad to the bone

look at that getting down to the last

few details of this vet we've got the

exhaust we got to finish up we're doing

a little upgrade on the interior there

it is man

that's cooler looking that and lastly

we're gonna change the wheels and get

the stance right

ifs on the front move the motor back

about seven inches check out all the

tubing under there to check it out

breakfast made he want you to sit in it

you just kind of see where every mean

the insert area on your seat where your

rest on your foot on a frame is a

problem put a little bit of a kick back
