on the East Coast

of Florida in Wellington
to check out a new project.

I see the Steins' home.

It's just incredible.

I mean, all the greenery
and the palm trees

and the landscaping
bursts with colors.

Big, beautiful house
means big, beautiful pool.

for their backyard paradise.

the Steins' backyard,

I can see
why they need me.

They just have this big,
wide-open canvas.

They're obviously looking
for something to do back here,

and we're gonna
make that happen.

Tell me a little bit
about the family

and why you guys
want this backyard.

We first moved here
about four, five years ago.

So we sat around
making our list

of all the things
that we want to do --

our dream list
of all the changes

we want to do on the inside

and then, ultimately,
the backyard.

Jeremy and I, we usually do,
every year for our anniversary,

the resort vacations.
Yep.

That's like
our favorite thing to do,

is just to sit by the pool
and have a cocktail.

We just want to be able
to create that in our backyard

and not have to travel.

We're looking to have
that resort feel here

so that we can spend
our anniversaries at home.

Our 20th is coming up.

Wow. Congratulations.
And I'm hoping that this
can be done by then.

How much time
does that give me?

Five months.
Alright.

At least it's not
five weeks.

This is gonna be
a really special project.

I just need to find out what
they want to put back here.

We have a lot of ideas.

I am a Cuban-American,
so I kind of want

that Mediterranean feel,
the Caribbean feel.

Well, you got a lot
of space for it.

So, are you thinking
mostly pool-resort area,

or you want to maintain
some grassy areas?

Yeah. I actually want to try
and use up

as much of the space
as possible.

So basically, this whole thing
is my canvas.

Whatever you can do,
make it happen.

I want something
really majestic,

but yet still feel
kind of homey.

Anything else
to add to that?

I would like to make it
a little more private.

But I want to ensure
that we keep this view in play.

I'd like to do some sort
of sun shelf

where the chair's
in the water,

but you don't have to go
all the way in the water.

It just kind of keeps you cool.
Yeah.

I want one of those.
We can do that.

I don't know what else
is missing.

I mean, you pretty much threw it
all out there.

I got one more idea.
Yeah?

We do a lot of,
you know, fitness,

so we'd love to be able
to figure out a way

to put an outdoor gym.

That would be cool.

Wow. Their 20th anniversary --

that's a huge milestone.

And I'm going to make it
one they won't forget.

I think I've got
the perfect design

that will give them
everything they want

and maybe a little more.

Got to go see the family,
see what they think.

Oh, you guys are right in
your little lanai area.

That's it.

Excited. Can't wait to see
what you've done.

Give you that majestic,
Mediterranean resort look,

what if, as you walk
out of this lanai,

the first feature you come to
will be your sun shelf?

So you can be lounging here

with your own little,
private waterfall.

You'll have a beautiful view
of that infinity-edge spa

connecting that view
to the lake,

so it just feels like
one endless body of water.

Then, as you swim
underneath the bridge,

you pop out on the other side,
where you have more waterfalls,

the big grotto, back to this
little, secret beach area

with a natural,
woodburning fire pit.

This little alcove right here
in the house,

we build that into
basically an outdoor living room

with built-in seating
and a fire pit

and Jeremy's gym
on that side of the house.

I mean, you're gonna have
all of the amenities.

I really like that design.

Well, all will be well
in Wellington.

[ Laughter ]

[ Birds chirping ]

LUCAS: This is going to be a
huge overhaul to their backyard,

but I've got the perfect team
to get it started.

You guys ready to get
started or what?!

-Yeah!
-Yeah!
-Yeah! Let's go!

I got plans! Let's lay
this puppy out and see
what we're working with!

Before we can start digging,
we have to survey the yard

and mark out the shape of
this free-form pool and spa.

Big spa.

With the backyard all mapped
out, it's time to build.

It'll move some dirt.

The access to this backyard
is extremely tight.

WOMAN:
Alright, you can go over
a little more if you want.

Other way.

You better turn it now.
Which way?

That way.
No, the front that way.

You're gonna have to put
the big boom down.

We ain't really get much bigger
than this in here.

Oh! That's close.
You're clear.

[ Laughs ]
Alright.

Now it's time to start
doing some digging.

This pool is massive. I'm taking
a lot of dirt out of here --

360 yards.

That's like 25 dump trucks.

Well, the pool's all dug.
Know what time it is?

Rebar time.

On this pool, we're using
13,000 pounds of #4 rebar,

which is more than enough
support for all our rockwork.

¶¶

LUCAS: The rebar is in place,

and the plumbing
has been installed

for the pool and huge spa,

which will have eight
powerful therapy jets.

We spray in 200 yards of gunite
to complete the pool form.

That's five times as much
as your average pool.

Once all the gunite's
shot in, we hand-trowel it

so it's all smooth.

Then once it's cured, it's time
for my favorite part --

rockwork.

We're bringing in about 100
ton of Tennessee field stone

to give them
that resort look and feel

in that grotto
on a massive scale.

Alright, guys. You ready
to build a grotto or what?

-Yeah.
-Yeah, we're ready.

Fellow rock mongrels,
here we are once again

at the beginning
of a large rock job.

We're gonna span
this entire thing

with just natural
Tennessee field stone.

Now, I'm hoping we can do this
with 96 ton of stone.

Basically we're making, like,
three little grottos

and piecing them together.
Pretty much.

Guys, first day's
always a hectic, busy day.

We got a lot of work to do,
but once we get set up,

we're gonna start stacking
some serious rocks. You ready?

-I'm ready.
-Ready.
-Let's do it.

First rock, huh?

We're gonna set this nice, big,
fat center column first...

-Hey, toward me.
-Towards woman.

...because that's the foundation
for the entire structure.

With that in place, we set
the rest of the pillars

and start stacking upwards.

Second layer.

Right there. Beautiful.
Come on down.

-Yeah.
-Bring her in.

-Bring it in.
-She's a beauty.

This rock's the coolest thing
you've ever seen.

And that point
leans into this.

Looking good.

With the grotto taking shape...

Oh, my gosh.
That is awesome.

...we begin work on
the octagonal fire pit

and seating area.

Cinder blocks are cut
and cemented into place,

then it's capped
with decorative stone.

Something's
not right here.

Overall,
I'm just not pleased with it.

¶¶

LUCAS: We're here
in Wellington, Florida,

building a backyard beach resort
for the Stein family.

Something's
not right here.

What? It looks good.

I mean, the rocks that are here
look amazing,

but overall,
I'm just not pleased with it.

It's so wide open.

I mean, it doesn't feel
like a grotto.

It feels like the grotto
needs to come to here,

so this is a nice, big,
massive hangout area.

But this is a huge change
to finish this properly,

the way
I like to see it.

Make the call.

LUCAS: We've got to make
this grotto right.

So while we've got
the equipment,

we're gonna go
bigger and better with it.

We're tiling
the infinity edge

with over 20,000
multicolored iridescent tiles.

Right now, we need to start
building that bridge

that connects
the fire pit area

off the house to
the opposite side of this pool.

The seats for the octagon
fire pit are getting installed.

And now, it's time
for interior finish.

Then, we're ready
to fill this baby up.

Once the pool's filled,

we just have a few more
finishing touches.

Woman is in charge of
landscaping and doing her magic.

Old Man is working on
the fire feature,

on top of the grotto.

Crash and I are getting
all the gym equipment set up

for Jeremy's outdoor gym.

I can't wait to show
Jeremy and Tracy

their amazing
backyard resort --

just in time for
their 20th wedding anniversary.

this is my yard.

Lucas: This grotto
is very different

than any grotto
I've ever done before,

and the fact that there's
so many entrances and exits.

Plus, the fire feature
on top of the grotto --

I think that's
my favorite fire feature.

I mean, by far
the most dynamic,

coolest grotto
we've done.

Jeremy:
It looks like a cave.

I can't wait
to go exploring in there.

Check this area out.

I mean,
you got the loungers,

you got your sun shelf,

the bubblers, this waterfall
came out beautiful --

totally frames
your view of the lake.

Tracy:
I'm looking at this spa,
and, of course,

I just want to get in it,
like, right away.

dead space back here.

but you guys are gonna be

You know, we set out the goal
of having a place

where we could spend
a lot of time together,

come back here,
and enjoy it.

And you've done it.

It's unbelievable.

The smiles on Jeremy and Tracy's
face right now are priceless.

JEREMY: As beautiful as this
resort is during the day,

at night,
it just comes alive.

LUCAS: In northern California,
the Leasure family is looking

for a massive pool upgrade
in their own backyard.

This family of five works hard
to play hard.

That's kind of
our family motto.

We bought this
beautiful house.

It's a log cabin on 40 acres,
6000 square feet.

We haven't moved in yet.

I'm working on
a remodel.

ROGER: We have a view
of Folsom Lake.

We also have a pond
in our backyard.

They have a lake,
a pond.

The only body
of water missing --

a pool.

The location is killer.

We have tons of privacy.

And we're looking forward

to building a pool here
at our dream house.

The laundry list is caves,
waterfalls,

and, of course,
a Jacuzzi.

The most important thing
for us to accomplish

is time with the kids.

They're teenagers now.

Try to keep them
close to us,

have a spot where
everybody can hang out.

They will be in the pool
every day,

all day long,
with their friends.

This big backyard needs
a massive pool and patio

that will cover over
1,700 square feet.

The back of the pool will
feature a giant edge

to accent
the beautiful views.

And on the other side
is a huge spa and tanning shelf,

complete with
multiple spillways.

One of the best parts
of this design

is the giant 8-foot high
grotto waterfall

with multiple jump points
off the top.

This pool will also feature
a bridge

to an island
in the center.

The family wants more
than a seating area,

so the crew kicks it up a notch
by adding a sunken fire pit

for those cool
California nights.

With the plans
in place,

it's time to get moving
on this mountain-top mega pool.

LUCAS: The Leasure's pool
project is coming right along.

The gunite's cured,
and it's on to the title.

This 40-foot-long infinity edge
will take over 800

carefully placed porcelain tiles
to cover it.

The crew brings in
tons of rock

to build the grotto,

and to accent several areas
around the pool.

The largest is a 9,000-pound
solid piece of stone

to complete the bridge
to the island.

MAN: Okay, slowly,
let's swing this thing over.

I've moved some big stones
in my day,

and the one thing I can tell you
is you can't rush it.

One little mistake,
and this nearly 5-ton stone

could crash into the pool,
and ruin seven weeks of work.

That is perfect, guys.

LUCAS: The crew
finishes the rockwork

on the interior of the grotto,

and the entire pool
is plastered.

After weeks of work
on this project,

it's time to fill
this megapool with water.

This is a moment where
all the hard work pays off

and the family
gets their first peek

at their new backyard.

Leasure family,
Here's your brand-new pool!

Oh, my God!

Oh, my God!
Are you kidding me?!

LUCAS: This pool
covers 1,700 square feet

and needs 62,000 gallons
of water to fill it.

MAN: Unbelievable!

¶¶

MAN: Really,
what we wanted to do

is carry out this
entire natural theme

that you not only have
in your house,

but you wanted
to create in your yard.

Can't believe the bridge
that you guys built!

That is crazy!

¶¶

This bridge is made up
of one natural boulder

that actually weighs
9,500 pounds.

You guys did a great job.

It looks exactly like our
swimming hole down at the river.

LUCAS: Let's not forget
that epic sunken fire pit.

It's a great place
to cook up some s'mores,

and it's at the perfect level

to look right over
the infinity edge

to the gorgeous views
of the lake and valley.

WOMAN: And I think it'll be
a great place to sit

and have a glass of wine
at night...

let the kids swim, look
at the view, and just relax.

-I like the cave.
-You know what?

That cave is 8 feet wide,

and the water underneath it
is 8 feet deep,

so you can actually
jump off that

into the water,

and the grotto is actually
finished with real flagstone.

We wanted to carry
this natural theme

throughout the entire pool.

MAN: It looks like
it belongs here.

CHILD: I can't believe
this is really our pool.

LUCAS:
This spa was planned perfectly.

It's raised above the pool
and angled

so you have the perfect vantage
point to enjoy that view.

It's beautiful. I like
how you did the edge, too.

You can sit on the top,
put your feet in. Looks great.

MAN: The infinity edge, too.
That's phenomenal.

How big is that
infinity edge?

40 feet long.

It's actually the longest one
that we've ever built.

You guys did a great job.
Time for a pool party!

the Leasure log cabin!

It's a game-changer,

living in California, where
the summers are 100 degrees.

WOMAN: Go in the cave!

It'll change
our day-to-day life

because the kids will always
be outside in the pool,

and we'll have some
peace and quiet.

It's awesome.
We can't believe it.

-Look at the view.
-I know. It's perfect.

It's miles above, you know,
what we expected.

It's beautiful. It sparkles
when the sun hits it.

And I really couldn't ask
for a better backyard and pool.

LUCAS:
In Franklin, Tennessee,

this run-of-the-mill backyard
is about to get

a very splashy upgrade.

MAN:
Once the pool is built,

I'd say 95% of our party
is going to be outside.

We're so ready for the pool,
right, guys? [ Laughs ]

I'm ready to swim in it!

LUCAS: This pool offers way
more than just a place to swim.

It's loaded with
family friendly features

for the Rowlands.

The elevation of the backyard
is steep,

and there is no better way
to utilize it

than building
a massive waterfall

that spans the entire
backside of the pool.

On the other side will be
a complete outdoor kitchen

with vanishing-edge walls
on both sides.

The tanning ledge
is the perfect size

for a couple of lounge chairs
and includes three bubblers.

It will also be a great place

for their young children
to play.

The back corner
will feature a pergola

with a built-in stone fire pit.

And to crown this pool
is a huge spa and spillway.

This pool will be
the ultimate entertaining area

for the Rowlands.

And with their approval,
the build gets under way.

The transformation
of this steep backyard

is progressing quickly.

The pool, spa, and tanning shelf

have been formed
without a hitch.

But just when you think
you're ahead of schedule,

the work slides to a halt

when the family decides
to add a 37-foot slide

that comes in about 35 pieces.

MAN: I think what we're
going to do is start

with the entry part
right there...

Build it back.
...and work our way
up the hill.

LUCAS: Building a slide
is like rockwork.

You have to get
the first piece set right,

or the whole thing will be off.

Luckily, these guys
make quick work of it,

and now we have
one fun-looking slide.

All right. Looks good.

You just made some little kids
very, very happy.

-I hope so.
-They're going to love it.

LUCAS:
With the addition of the slide,

the right side of the waterfall
is looking off balance.

The solution? A third spillway
flanking the slide

that will improve the view
and sound quality

for anyone sitting in the spa.

With the slide creating
a domino effect of changes,

the Rowland family stops by
to check out the progress.

of what it's going to be.

LUCAS: With the family's

it's down to the details
of this oasis.

is finally finished,

and this backyard beauty,
complete with the slide,

We got the big
grotto rock there.
It's huge!

This is more than we

was built entirely

from Tennessee fieldstone

with several boulders
weighing over 4,000 pounds,

and all of it surrounds this
megaslide just beautifully.

We are going to be spending

and a dream come true.

That's the goal --

making backyard dreams
come to life.

This next insane pool is
a little closer to my own home.

I'm headed out to see
Henry and Valerie Taylor,

who live in Bradenton, Florida,

near the wetlands
and the nature preserves.

I can't wait to see
what they have for me.

[ Doorbell rings ]

-Hey. how are you?

-Glad to meet you.
-Hey, Henry. You too.

Looks like you've got
a beautiful home here.

-This is a custom-built home.
-We've been here for 10 years.

When we were building this home,
the design did have a pool,

but it was just a little hole
in the ground.

So we told the builder,
"Scratch the pool."

We made a bucket list.
Built the house that we wanted.

Now we're building this pool.

LUCAS: Wow! Some space
to work in!

That is a preserve.
Beautiful.

Henry made it really clear
that they moved out here

to be around wildlife.

They love the nature preserve.

So I want the design to reflect
and encompass everything

that they live out here for.

I need that wow factor, man.

We wanted a change
in a lifestyle.

My goal in life is to
live longer and be healthy.

We want something that
we can be able to swim.

We wanted something
that we can exercise in,

something therapeutic.

We could do a really big spa
that you can actually swim

and have the swim jet
in the spa

then have another pool area
with seating all around it

so you can lounge in the pool
and cool down.

Maybe let's just go
sit down at the table.

I'll show you
some pictures.

LUCAS:
Henry and Valerie have had
10 years living in this home,

looking out back, thinking
about everything that they want.

I'm thinking, you know,
this swim/spa area,

you have therapy jets
coming out of the walls

where you could fit
like 12 people or more.

It's really a giant hot tub.
Also a swim jet.

So you can exercise by
swimming against the current.

So the water spilling with
a rock bridge going over it.

Over here,
you got this cool grotto.

You've got some good ideas
right there.

Possibly, like,
an outdoor TV on this wall.

Maybe a big kind of landscaped
garden area back here.

That's exactly
what I'm looking for.

LUCAS: The Taylors
have waited 10 years,

so let's not waste
another minute.

Cool. That's that point.
It's time to dig this thing.

[ Whirring ]

One of the hardest things
about digging is water.

That's our enemy.

Oh, whoa, whoa!

Go ahead and dump that
then come out!

-Look how wet that is.
-Ohh!

It's gonna start
caving in on us.

If you hit water,
you got to dig much deeper

than you need to go
so that you can fill it in

with either crushed stone
or crushed shell.

Then once you have your
perimeter set and the hole dug,

you lay all your steel in there.

We got basically two pools
unified by a stream.

This therapy pool's really the
biggest spa we've ever built.

This is like at least
as big as the pool.

It's 300 square foot.

I can't even really
classify it as a spa,

so we call it a therapy pool.

¶¶

Shotcrete is where the design
begins to take shape

but also becomes final.

Once the shotcrete is in place,

making changes to the design
is pretty much impossible.

This is where the pool
really comes to life.

MATT: These big grottos and
waterfalls are very heavy,

so we need a strong material.

Then they got to
strip the forms off,

and then it's ready
for us to do rock magic.

LUCAS:
Not so fast, Sunshine.

First, we have to
get the plumbing in.

We're laying
over 1,600 feet of pipe.

They'll flow water
through the pool,

including the wow-factor
waterfall

and Henry's own swim jet.

MATT: The suction lines
that come from the therapy pool

and draws the water to the pump
and then pumps it back

to make it like
you're swimming against a river.

Let's get this thing in there.

-All right.
-[ Grunts ] All right. Got her.

All right. Good job, guys.
Man, good job.

That means all the plumbing done
for the pool,

so now all we do is backfill.

Backfill this
by hand, though.

JANE: The rocks are arriving.
It's exciting.

We got two tractor-trailer
loads of stone,

which is equivalent
to about 48 ton.

¶¶

LUCAS:
The stones are carefully laid
so we can create an organic feel

blending into the natural
surrounding of the wetlands.

¶¶

Oh, my God!
This looks gorgeous!

¶¶

LUCAS: Henry and Valerie's
wow-factor waterfall

is coming to life.

Here you go, big fella.

Just like your are.
Go down.

Yeah, I like how this is
coming together, you know?

We definitely have
the clearance.

This is like seven foot.

I'm the rock conqueror!

Think we're creating
your wow factor, I hope.

So, you know,
we basically

just got to level off
the rest of it

and then put that
huge grotto rock on,

and that's your
big waterfall.
Okay.

Henry's just not getting as
pumped up as I thought he would.

-But I see my swim jet!
-Oh, yeah.

Yeah, I see the big pipe.
Man!

We got this
plumbed in, too, now.

So that's going to be a lot of
water shooting out of that pipe.

Oh, man! This is great!
I can't believe this!

This is what I wanted!

I can't believe he's
that excited about plumbing.

...and you're getting more

can build the backyard dream

he's always been wanting,

but it's our job
to change his mind

and show him that
we can really rock his world.

All right, Crash, I want to
get you to help me strap this.

CHRIS: We're getting ready to
put the lid on the grotto.

I mean, this is like the
crowning jewel of our waterfall.

This thing is big.

This rock weighs
about 5,000 pounds.

One grotto comin' up!

This is
the most exciting part!

-Just stay out from under it.
-Little more.

All right, well,
we got to get mud under it

and come in a little bit more.

Bring her down. Okay.

I mean, it looks awesome.
Look at that. Perfectly level.

LUCAS: Henry wants his backyard
to make him go, "Wow!"

So why stop
at just one waterfall grotto?

I see that we actually have
quite a few large stones left,

so it'll enable us
to give Henry his wow factor.

Sometimes I look over,
see a rock, and I know,

you know, what its destiny
was supposed to be,

and I'm like, "You know what?
You're gonna be another grotto."

Swing it over!

All right, Crash.
Let's get her in!

We finished the second
grotto idea in record time.

MAN: I'm gonna be connecting
the two pools with the stream

and a bridge going over it.

LUCAS: With the river bed
almost complete,

2,400 square feet of
travertine decking are laid,

giving the Taylors an abundance
of entertaining space.

Really grown in there.

We're also putting in
the landscaping,

and I love that part because
it really starts softening

and making everything feel
a lot more natural.

I mean,
the rockwork is beautiful,

but the plants
really set it off.

MAN: One of the last things
we gotta do

is get the pool finish in there.

The Taylors have a dark-blue
pebble finish on their pool.

All right.
Let's fill this thing.

The Taylors have been
waiting 10 years for this.

We gotta make sure
that everything is exactly

the way they want it.

We're powerwashing,
planting plants,

and just doing whatever it needs
to be done to make it perfect

for the Taylors
so that they're happy

that they waited 10 years
to get their backyard oasis.

a decade for their dream pool,

what bigger reward is there?

So, let's watch one more
family's backyard dream

come to life.

In New Braunfels, Texas,

Amy and Mike Ohm are ready
to plan some pool parties.

MIKE:
We're empty-nesters now,

and we thought it'd be
a great time to build a pool.

AMY: So we want a pool
that's not really going to be

about a bunch
of small children.

This pool is going to be
a relaxing opportunity,

lots of lounging
and cocktails.

So we want a
no-splash-zone pool.

Can't get water in your
cocktails if people jump in.

Our yard's very Hill Country.
It's very rustic.

And we want it to look like
it's always been there,

so it needs to look like
a pond or a lagoon.

It'd be great
to be able to use

some of the natural rock
that's already here

so it just blends in
that much better.

LUCAS: Instead of tile and
coping, the entire perimeter

will feature natural boulders
and smaller rocks

to give the Ohms
their natural-pond feel.

This perfect,
no-splash cocktail pool

will feature depths
ranging from three to five feet

and a huge
350-square-foot sun shelf

for optimal relaxation.

A large waterfall will span
the back of the pool

with three different spillways
seen from all angles.

And outside the pool
is a rainbow-pebble deck

that offers a great place
to hang out.

And since
this is a cocktail pool,

it needs to come alive at night.

Three multicolored LED lights
ought to do the trick.

¶¶

They say things
are bigger in Texas,

and so is the equipment required
to dig this massive party pool.

These guys
are just starting to dig

when they hit solid limestone.

The good news is this stone

matches what's already
on the property,

so it's basically like finding
free building materials.

Now that the rebar
and plumbing are in place,

it's time to shoot some pool.

¶¶

Dozens of boulders
are being placed

to create the perimeter
of this pond paradise.

¶¶

Time to see
what homeowner Mike thinks.

MIKE: Start with
the most important part.

We love the waterfall.
It's dynamite.

This section over here,
it may be a little tall,

so we want to kind of
hold off on that for now.

So, then, looking
at the Baja shelf,

we have this
main boulder here,

which is really the focal point,
right, of the pool.

-Big-time focal point.
-People are gonna sit on it.

You're gonna see it when
you walk out from the house.

So it's a pretty nice rock,

but I think we're gonna use it
maybe somewhere else,

and we want to find something
a little more smooth maybe

and just a perfect boulder
for that area.

LUCAS: With Mike's approval
on most of the boulders,

the waterfall and pool border

can start to be mortared
into their permanent spots.

It's like working
one big complicated puzzle,

except when the puzzle's done,
it's never coming apart.

LUCAS: Rockwork isn't finished
at the Ohms' pond paradise.

There's one final piece of the
rock puzzle left to complete --

the focal point of the pool,
the sun-shelf boulders.

One boulder will be
completely submerged.

The other
is partially submerged,

offering a unique place
to sit and stay dry.

And homeowner Mike is here to
ensure the perfect placement.

about this right here?

-Looks good. Yeah.
-Okay.

LUCAS: Finding the perfect rock
is tricky,

so it can be nerve-racking

until it's safely
in its final placement.

-I'm kind of liking that.
-It makes an easy transition

from here down to here, too.

LUCAS: The placement
of those rocks is spot-on.

It's not only
the perfect seat on a hot day,

but it's a unique
natural handrail when entering

and exiting the pool.

You first. You get to use them
first getting out of the pool.

[ Laughter ]

LUCAS:
With the boulders in place,

the rainbow-pebble pool deck
that can finally be laid.

These guys have to spread
multicolored pebbles by hand

over the entire surface.

The pebbles are pressed into the
concrete and given time to set.

Brush off the surface
and wash the sand away,

leaving a beautiful
textured rainbow-pebble deck

that ties perfectly into the
natural-pond look of the pool.

The final step in this
stunning super pond --

a nice blue-pebble finish.

Anything worth doing
is worth overdoing.

-Okay.
-I'm-a pull it to my side.

LUCAS: So why not add
a triple floating fire feature

right in the middle of the pool?

This will really light things up
at night.

With the final touches done,
it's time to show Amy and Mike

their new party pond.

The stonework's unbelievable.

LUCAS: It's the perfect
combination of natural elements

combined to create a party vibe.

different types of stones,

all different shapes
and sizes and colors,

which really makes it
interesting.

-It's exactly what we wanted.
-Awesome.

That Baja shelf
is unbelievable.
Huge.

AMY: Look at all
the areas to sit.

And where you walk in,
it's got the stones.

It looks like a creek.

And then, geez,
all the landscaping.

MAN: The rainbow-pebble decking
behind all these boulders

was just about the perfect
amount of patio space.

It's the right amount.
It looks really nice.

'Cause it blends in really well
with the landscape,

so it keeps that natural
look and feel.

It's definitely dreamy.

MIKE: We don't have
young kids anymore,

so we kind of wanted to have
more of a pool to relax in

and just kind of
be able to chill out.

Great place to hang out
and stay cool

in this hot Texas heat.

And just even sitting
by the pool is nice, right?

Just the sound is nice.

LUCAS:
That natural-water sound

really gets you
into that relaxation mind-set.

-I think it's calling my name.
-Yeah. Let's go.

LUCAS:
This pool is the perfect place

for Amy and Mike to kick back

and relax
with their friends and family.

MIKE: People just love
sitting around the pool.

The dogs love
jumping on the rocks.

They love climbing
on the waterfall.

And it's great just to hang out.
People hang out all around

'cause there's so many
different place to sit,

and it works out great.
Just put your feet in.

You don't even
have to go swimming.

Casually hang out.
It's like sitting
around a pond, yeah.

LUCAS: As good as this pool
looks during the day,

you've got to see it at night.

We definitely got a pool
with a wow factor.

I'm amazed at how great
it turned out.

And it's definitely a wow pool.
I love it.

Yeah, the pool really does
