"The Heiress"

Episode 13

Prince Qi's Mansion

Go ahead.

Well,

today Miss Wang paid you a sudden visit

and the reason is...

Why did you come here?

I came to give Miss Chu an invitation.

My elder sister, Princess Consort Zheng, is throwing a garden party.

Ladies in the capital have all been invited

I came to give Miss Chu her invitation myself.

I wasn't hospitable enough

and annoyed Miss Wang.

But Miss Wang,

you didn't mention the garden party after you came in.

I...

Who hit you?

You said I fawned on His Highness.

You even asked a servant to dislocate my shoulder.

Don't distort the truth, Miss Wang.

You criticized me for giving His Highness a bad name.

I really couldn't admit it

and defended myself.

I didn't expect you would hit me.

Stop pretending.

When you asked your servant to dislocate my shoulder,

you were ruthless!

I never asked anyone to dislocate your shoulder.

You didn't say it, but you gave a sign.

I...

Shiyi,

how should I deal with this matter?

You don't want to offend them

and asked for my opinion?

Your Highness,

here's the thing.

I was just passing by and I don't know

why these two ladies had an argument.

Lord Han,

didn't you...

didn't you see her hitting me?

I really didn't see it.

I just saw you walking out of the house

and your face was...

was like this.

Han Shiyi,

she ordered a servant to dislocate my shoulder.

Did you see it?

When did she order someone to do that?

She just...

she just winked

at this servant.

And then she dislocated your shoulder.

Lord Han,

I've never offended you.

Why did you slander me?

Cousin.

Cousin, you need to believe me.

Cousin. Cou...

Stay away from His Highness.

You pretended to faint.

Take Miss Chu back to her room.

As for this lady,

send a message to Wang Anli to take her home.

Your Highness.

You misunderstood, Your Highness.

It's not like that.

-What has it got to do with me? -Your Highness.

Why did he shoot me that look?

Lightly. Lightly. Lightly.

It hurts.

Miss Wang,

isn't this much better than the woodshed?

Be careful with your shoulder.

You're the Prime Minister's daughter.

Why did you do this to yourself?

Stay here for a while.

I'll look for a reliable doctor now

to put your shoulder back in its position.

Han Shiyi,

don't think I'll be grateful to you.

You're just reveling in my misery!

Prime Minister's Mansion

Cousin,

you're talented and intelligent.

Why aren't you interested in politics?

Uncle has always complained to me about it.

My interest is in mountains and rivers.

What I want is a carefree life.

Your Highness. Young master.

There's a letter from Prince Qi's Mansion.

The bearer said it was urgent.

What's so urgent from Prince Qi's Mansion?

What else could it be

except my sister?

Take this medicine.

If you don't, it'll hurt horribly.

Didn't you say it wouldn't hurt if I took the medicine?

When did I say it wouldn't hurt if you took the medicine?

Did I say that?

This medicine is for your heat.

You were too angry.

Han Shiyi,

I knew you were up to no good.

You colluded with him to make me suffer.

Miss Wang,

are you sure

you wanna offend everyone now?

Lord Han, His Highness wants Doctor Lin

to treat Miss Chu.

Got it. You can leave.

Baozi,

go.

What's wrong with her?

She suddenly passed out.

I had never seen that before.

I only knew people would pass out

because of being beaten.

It was the first time I had seen

someone passing out herself.

I've only heard pregnant people will pass out.

I'll prescribe her something

to protect her baby, then.

How did you come up with it?

Prescribe her something to protect her baby.

Of course it's through my brain.

Your Highness,

how's Miss Chu?

She's not awake yet.

Lin Baozi, go in now.

Your Highness,

aren't you going in?

It's not suitable for us to go in a lady's room.

That's right.

I hear you took Wang Xiyuan to the wing

and asked Doctor Lin to treat her.

She's a girl who hasn't got married.

It'll be awful if people know she's locked in a woodshed.

Besides, she's a girl

and delicate.

Her shoulder was dislocated.

I couldn't leave her being like that, could I?

You were really considerate of her.

I wasn't considerate of her.

I was considering you.

It's not time to burn your bridges with Prime Minister Wang yet.

Wang Xiyuan

is also the Empress's niece.

If we didn't handle it properly,

they would slander you

in front of His Majesty again.

Did you really think so?

What was I thinking, then?

That girl always caused me trouble.

I thought

it was because of her brother.

Your Highness,

Wang Er and I aren't on such good terms

that I'll help his sister for his sake.

Your Highness, Lord Han,

the Second Prince and Mr. Wang are here.

They want to apologize on behalf of Miss Wang.

Ask them to wait there.

Yes.

It's been an hour.

What on earth is Yanyi up to?

Your Highness.

Your Highness, my sister is undisciplined.

You're magnanimous.

Please forgive her.

Things between ladies

shouldn't be my business

or make me feel upset.

But the Defender Duke's wife

told me to look after Miss Chu.

She wasn't seriously injured

but I can't fail Mrs. Chu.

Take your sister home.

Tell her to apologize to Miss Chu one day.

Yanyi,

it's normal for ladies to have an argument.

Wouldn't it be improper to ask

Xiyuan to apologize?

Your Highness.

It's Xiyuan's fault.

She should apologize.

We're relatives.

These two ladies

are both our cousins.

It was just a slight argument.

We don't have to make it so bad, do we?

That makes sense.

Why don't you write a letter to Mrs. Chu?

Tell her the girl she brought up has been hit

and ask if she can leave it at that.

Mrs. Chu is a forgiving person.

She won't mind such a little thing.

Your Highness.

Mr. Wang.

I wasn't hospitable enough

and didn't make Miss Wang feel at home.

I know you care about me

but you mustn't ruin

your friendship with the Wang family

because of such a minor thing.

Please don't ask Miss Wang

to apologize to me.

Miss Chu, you're a forgiving person.

Let's solve the problem like this.

Now that you have your own idea

and come here,

deal with it yourself.

Cousin,

I'll certainly listen to you.

I just don't want you to be stumped by it.

Now that you'll listen to me, leave now.

Yes, cousin.

I've known my cousin since childhood.

I know his temperament.

He's always calm

and never shows his feelings.

When had he looked at someone so tenderly?

My lady.

My cousin has been fascinated by Han Shiyi.

He's going to make a terrible mistake.

I can't let him do that.

Eternal loyalty

Miss Chu seems to be weak

but she can be so cruel.

She's dislocated the shoulder of the Prime Minister's daughter.

Miss Wang

must have never been treated like that.

Wang Xiyuan is

simpleminded and always does as she likes.

Prime Minister Wang is devious and sly.

How did he bring up

his daughter to be so artless?

I think this is quite interesting.

Ever since Miss Chu came,

everyone has been praising her

and saying that she's modest and gentle.

Miss Chu is

a real woman.

Wang Xiyuan is no match for her.

You two are not a patch on her.

Compared with her, even the best performer of Yidian Pavilion

will seem to be inferior.

I've seen it clearly today.

She can easily turn from a tough woman

to a weak one.

She's merciless when hurting someone

and when she pretends to be wronged, she can cry instantly.

My Lord,

it seems you like

Miss Wang more.

Miss Chu is too clever.

Wang Xiyuan is

always overbearing

but at least I can figure her out.

Alright, you two go get some rest.

We'll be outside.

Go.

Wang Zhongyu and Wang Xiyuan have

really surprised me.

Their style is completely different from their dad's.

Prime Minister Wang and his henchmen will be wiped out sooner or later.

Judging by His Highness's attitude,

they will be involved as well.

I've thought too much.

I don't know who will take that place

but I am feeling sorry for them already.

Watermelons. Big watermelons.

My Lord,

shall we get a watermelon?

No, not today.

There are roast ducks there.

And desserts.

My Lord, someone is following us.

It's you.

Why did you follow us?

His Highness was afraid you'd be in danger

and specially asked me to protect you.

Does Lord Han need you to protect him?

You...

We were just thinking

on one helped us carry these things.

They're all yours now.

Give them to him.

Dude,

I want this.

Wait. Change it for this.

We've almost finished shopping.

Help me get rid of him later.

What can you buy in this alley?

You didn't know.

There are many fun things

in alleys like this.

Look at all those snacks.

You...

Sorry about that.

You...

Where's Lord Han?

Lord Han?

Where's Lord Han?

Where's Lord Han?

-Where's Lord Han? -Lord Han is missing.

-My Lord. -My Lord.

-Where are you, My Lord? -Where are you?

Ma'am,

a bowl of beef noodles. Double the beef.

Coming.

You're here, My Lord.

Ma'am,

is business alright recently?

Everything is alright but you're a man of noble birth.

It's unsuitable for you to come here.

Next time you want noodles,

I'll make them and take them to your house.

Noodles won't be nice when they're cool.

Besides,

if I don't come to see you myself,

I won't set my mind at ease.

I know you're a kind person.

But it's Yong's and his brothers'

duty to serve the country.

You don't have to look after me.

Ma'am,

all three of your sons have sacrificed themselves for the country.

For the people alive of the Han Army,

looking after you is a must.

Let's not talk about that.

Wait a moment. I'll make noodles for you.

Li's Glorious Pavilion

Your Highness.

Go back now.

Your Highness, I'm sorry.

I lost track of Lord Han.

Help!

-Someone's harassing me! -Someone's harassing me!

Help!

Someone's harassing me. Help!

-Someone's... -Help.

Brother.

Brother,

he... he sexually harassed me.

You wretch, how dare you do that to my sister?

I don't even know her.

Besides, she sexually harassed me.

You harassed my sister and denied it.

Beat him.

I'm rich!

Look at your clothes.

They're not even worth a penny.

How rich can you be?

You're rich, aren't you? Give me money.

You want money, don't you?

I've got

plenty of it.

Don't let him flee. Stop.

Let me go.

Let me go!

Bastard, you were quite fast.

Can't you fly? Fly again.

Come on, fly.

Let me go.

Everyone...

Let me go.

This wretch has slept with my sister.

Now she's pregnant

and he wants to abandon her.

Don't you think he's a jerk?

My sister hasn't even got married

and he cheated her.

Shouldn't I have it out with him?

Nonsense.

I have a legion of wives and concubines.

Every one of them is prettier than her.

Why would I have my eye on her?

Brother, he didn't admit it.

You've got to help me.

There's a mole on his bottom.

Strip him. You'll see it

and know if it was him.

Guys, this wretch got my sister into trouble.

He must take responsibility for her.

I'll strip him and prove it's him now.

I'm the Prime Minister's second son. Don't you dare to do that.

There are so many needles

in such a thin hairpin?

Yes. Try it.

It'll fire a needle when you turn its bottom lightly.

Don't believe him.

I'll strip you and check it

even if you're the Emperor...

Brother.

What did you fire at me?

What? What did I fire at you?

I didn't finish speaking just now.

I'm a sorcerer hired by the Prime Minister's second son.

See? I performed magic

and you were hurt.

Stay away from me.

Beat him.

Shiyi, down!

I really couldn't expect

this would happen to Lord Han.

Don't talk rubbish. Help me out now.

Quickly.

Yes, yes, Sorcerer Han.

Sorry that you were frightened.

Here.

How are you feeling? Were you hurt?

I'm okay.

Are you going to chase him with your hair loose?

None of your business.

I've saved you.

Don't you want to thank me?

Let me go.

Helping people in danger is

what we ought to do. Why should I thank you?

If he holds you like this,

will you ask him to let go?

What are you talking about?

I'll hit you if you don't let go now.

You're quite daring now.

You poked me.

Your Highness.

Where have you been?

The woman who harassed me just now

went that way.

That's okay. Jiye has caught her.

Don't move.

Luckily, there aren't internal injuries.

Your Highness,

when did you learn to feel someone's pulse?

You're really an omnipotent prodigy.

Don't flatter me.

Flattery is a good thing

that applies universally

and a weapon of the Han family.

To be honest,

I didn't arrive in time to save you today

and my heart is still in my mouth now.

Luckily Wang Zhongyu was there.

Your Highness,

it's strange that those people

did that to me today.

We must look into it.

We've caught several of them.

Xinting is interrogating them.

Has Xinting recovered?

He's alright.

Your Highness,

let's go to see

those ruffians you caught.

I really want to know

who hired them

to make me suffer.

How did you contact him?

The employer contacted me himself.

Now we've failed.

Probably he won't see me again.

Your Highness,

what's your plan?

You'll forbid her

from sleeping

and she'll confess in a few days?

That's not necessary.

I knew you had other ideas.

You're expert at making people confess.

Thanks for your compliment.

Your Highness.

I did misjudge you.

You're really somebody.

Have you had your say?

We were really hired to do that to you.

The employer said

you seduced his master's daughter

and wanted to teach you a lesson.

He also said you were cunning

and asked us not to believe you.

We just needed to knock you down,

strip you and leave you in the street

so that you'd lose face.

Your Highness, without further ado, torture her now.

But I'm a soft-hearted man

and I can't watch this.

I'll excuse myself then.

We don't need to torture her.

She'll be beheaded immediately.

Her relatives should be beheaded as well.

Widow Ma in the West Street is her mom.

Wang's grandson is her nephew.

They'll be beheaded.

She has a sister who's married in Gunzhou

and has three kids. They'll be included, too.

Sir,

I just cooperated with those mobsters

to humiliate this gentleman.

I never tried to kill him.

How could... how could you behead me and my relatives?

I'm a prince.

Can't I even decide this case?

Please let me go.

Don't kill my mom and nephews.

The employer has a house in the west of the city.

I met him there.

My lady.

What's up?

His Highness... His Highness came.

My cousin is here?

Quickly.

Help me change.

Cousin.

Kneel.

Do you know this man?

Butler Zhang.

What happened?

Did he do anything wrong?

If he did,

feel free to punish him.

You don't have to consider my feelings.

Help, my lady.

What... what on earth happened?

My lady, did you order me

to hire someone to punish Lord Han?

Now His Highness wants to kill my relatives.

More than 40 of them have been in the water dungeon.

Help, my lady.

Punish Lord Han?

What are you talking about?

My lady, you asked me

to hire some gangsters

to beat Lord Han,

strip him and leave him in the street

so that he wouldn't seduce His Highness again.

Shut up!

How could you say those things?

I didn't have much contact with him.

Why would I do such a thing?

My lady, you said

you couldn't order the servants to do it

and told me to hire people outside.

I haven't spent all of the money you gave me.

I only gave half of it to them. I...

Who asked you to ruin my reputation like this?

Cousin, you mustn't believe him.

He must have colluded with someone

to frame me here.

It's my fault.

I forgot to tell you

you can't hurt Han Shiyi.

Cousin,

do you believe a servant

instead of me?

He doesn't have a grudge against Han Shiyi.

Why would he harm him?

How am I supposed to know?

Perhaps

he colluded with Han Shiyi

to put on this play and frame me.

Why would Han Shiyi do that?

He coveted your affections.

Everyone in the capital knows

his filthy thoughts.

Shut up.

If you don't believe me,

you can kill me.

I'll never admit things

that aren't my doings.

Your Highness, I've bought you lots of things.

This is Ms. Fang's stinky tofu.

This is Hai's stewed meat.

Those are Chang's roast sausages

and these are Tian Er and his wife's bamboo shoots buns.

Try this.

What is it?

It's stinky tofu.

I think it has gone bad.

Your Highness,

although this is stinky,

it's super nice when you chew it.

Watch this.

Try it.

What do you think?

It's good.

I didn't expect

you would like things like that.

I thought

you'd find these things to be vulgar

and dared not offer them to you.

You've really missed a lot of things.

You were afraid I wouldn't like them?

Of course.

I was also afraid someone with ill intentions

would poison my food.

When I go to eat these things,

I always wear plain clothes.

You don't have to worry about that from now on.

Yes, yes, I've got it.

Your Highness, I really didn't know this.

You are also a good gourmet.

You just didn't show it.

We're of like minds.

You are the good gourmet.

Thanks, Your Highness.

Your Highness,

do you know what I named my room

in the northern territory?

What is it?

Know about Food.

It's like the name of a restaurant.

You didn't know.

I've always thought if I can travel around the world one day,

I'll open a little restaurant

and call it Know about Food.

Know about Food.

It's a tasteful name.

Is it?

I've always thought I have good taste.

Anyway,

you'll be a happy person.

You'll have a restaurant.

I hope so.

Eternal loyalty

My Lord,

why did you eat the pips as well?

I forgot to spit them out.

I need to see Lord Han.

My Lord.

Don't call me that.

Aren't you tired from obeying all those

rules every day?

No, I'm not.

What's the matter, then?

I want to request you to intercede for Jiye.

Stand up first.

Thank you, Lord Han.

What happened to Jiye?

He failed to protect you

and almost caused you to be harmed by villains.

His Highness has punished him.

You and Jiye are

bodyguards His Highness values most

and you were sent to protect a playboy.

It's really beneath you.

I understand Jiye being in low spirits

these days.

How did His Highness punish him?

His Highness ordered he be beaten fifty times

and sent him back to the army in the western territory.

Fifty... fifty times?

Isn't His Highness too merciless?

His Highness was being strict and fair.

Strict and fair?

Why did you ask me to intercede with him, then?

Fifty blows are alright. Jiye should accept them.

But if he leaves the capital,

it'll be hard for him to serve His Highness again.

Actually he didn't do anything wrong.

I shook him off on purpose.

I'm proficient

in shaking someone off.

Okay, I'll talk to His Highness

but I can't guarantee it'll work.

His Highness will definitely consider what you say.

Now that I'm doing you this favor,

you've got to answer me

a question honestly.

Go on, please. I'll tell you everything I know.

Has the person who paid for me to be stripped

really escaped from here?

His Highness said this should be kept from Lord Han.

He doesn't want him to hate the Chu family.

Yes.

Alright, off you go now.

Thank you, Lord Han.

Defender Duke's Mansion

Mind where you're treading, my lady.

Be careful.

Don't be afraid. It's a mouse.

This house has been empty for a long time.

Keep going.

Duke Han's Mansion

My Lord,

Mr. Wang sent you a letter.

Wang Zhongyu?

Be wary of the Chu family.

Be wary of the Chu family.

Mom said

it was not certain that someone was your enemy.

She's right.

My Lord,

Ajiu reported

that His Highness sent Miss Chu

back to the Defender Duke's Mansion tonight.

But the repair work hasn't been done yet

and she went back there at night.

Something must have happened.

He kept it from me

and sent her away tonight.

Can it be more obvious?

What did His Highness keep from you?

He found it was his cousin's doing

and eliminated the clues quickly.

You think he really didn't find the employer?

He just didn't tell me the truth.

Is it

Miss Chu who tried to harm you?

Who she trifled with is me.

She needs

to pay for this wherever she hides.

But why did she do that to you?

She was always so pleasant.

I could never expect her to be that vicious.

I can't figure it out, either.

If it's because that time

I was biased towards Wang Xiyuan,

that could explain it.

But if she really did this

because of such a little thing,

she'll be so petty to me.

Defender Duke's Mansion

My lady.

I just wanted to teach him a lesson

but my cousin asked me to leave.

I knew

he was someone like Dong Xian and Han Yan.

If my cousin is captivated by him

and His Majesty knows it,

he'll not only fail to be the crown prince

but also be criticized in the future.

You're right, my lady.

This matter will take time.

You must take care of yourself.

Don't be too angry.

At any rate,

he's a man.

Now he's young

and looks like a beautiful girl.

He can't always be like that.

Here are the Emperor's instructions.

Students of the Imperial College

need to not only study works of sages

but also actively practice riding and shooting.

The first shooting competition

will be held three days later.

The venue will be the suburban hunting ground.

Yes.

What's wrong with His Majesty again?

Besides, though the Second Prince and the Fifth Prince

are serving in the Six Ministries already,

they're still students of the Imperial College.

They'll also take part

in this competition.

So it's an exam for both of them

and we are their traning partners.

Mr. Zhou,

check those slices and pots again.

Don't leave anything behind.

Lord Han,

are you going to cook on the hunting ground?

Let me tell you.

Some prey won't be nice unless you cook them right away,

such as hares, pheasants and so on.

You don't have this kind of experience.

You're not roasting but frying things today?

Horse,

why is your face so long?

Han Shiyi.

Han Shiyi.

Are they going on a picnic? They've taken pots.

That makes me hungry.

There's a lot of prey.

Why don't we find a place with a nice view

and roast them?

These were all hunted by His Highness.

We didn't help a bit.

You're really talkative.

You'll be dressing

the hare later.

I remember there were lots of birds

and animals last year when we came here.

Why's it so quiet today?

I can't even see a bird.
