[narrator] It was another super snufflesome night

at the School of Roars,

and in Yummble's house, someone was raring to go!

Hi, Mummy! Hi, Daddy!

Hi, babies!

Hi, breakfast! Yum, yum! [munches]

[hiccups]

Oh, you're full of beans, Scrumble Yummble!

It's our school sports night.

There'll be jelly juggling, the pong jump, the rotten egg and spoon.

You're bound to win that one, son!

Whoop, and it's Yummble in the lead! What a performance!

He wibbles and he wins! And the crowd go wild.

Miss Grizzlesniff says it's the taking part that counts.

Of course, but winning's good too.

I won the rotten egg and spoon at school,

and now you're following in my footsteps.

You're going to make me so proud!

Good roaring, monsters! Rawr!

[kids] Good roaring, Miss Grizzlesniff! Rawr!

Are you all ready for our sports night this after-moon?

-[all] Yay! -Good!

Let's practise, starting with the rotten egg and spoon.

[all clamour]

-[all] Ugggh! -Stinky!

[all laugh]

Don't chew the egg, please, Yummble.

Here you go. Now, hurry if you want to win the race.

[all laugh]

Okay, monsters, on your claws!

Get set, go! [blows whistle]

Steady, steady!

Whoops! [gasps]

[all] Eugh!

Who dropped an egg?

-Oh! -Poor Yummble!

Oh, my claws!

Let's start again.

[all, sadly] Oh!

And, Yummble, try and be a little more careful.

[sighs]

On your claws, get set...

-Ooh! -...go!

Ooh! Ooh! My egg, it's wobbling!

[gasps] Ohh.

-[others] Ugh! -Oh, dear!

[bellrings]

OK, that's it! Time for lunch.

Oh, Miss, one more go, please!

Sorry, Yummble, time's up.

[roars sadly]

Rawr!

Oh, yummy, yummy! Yummy slime sandwiches! Can't wait!

-[sighs] -Cheer up, Yummble!

It's sports night after lunch.

I don't want to do sports night.

My daddy will see how rubbish I am in the rotten egg and spoon.

And anyway, it's the taking part that counts.

I don't want to take part.

Well, maybe there's a way you won't have to.

-Splodgy-splodge! [giggles] -Stay still, Yummble.

-[Miss Grizzlesniff] OK, monsters... -[all gasps]

...time for sports night!

Oh, my claws! Yummble! I think you've got the weasles.

-Ooh! -[whining]

Oh, I'm afraid you won't be able to take part in sports night.

[chuckles] Uhh...actually, I'm feeling much better now, Miss.

Hmm. Go and get those spots cleaned off,

and try not to worry about sports night.

-[all cheer] -Good after-moon, monsters!

Welcome to sports night.

We've got lots of events, including jelly juggling,

a sack race over the slippery slime rink

and, of course, the pong jump.

But let's begin with the rotten egg and spoon.

[all cheer]

Good luck, Scrumble Yummble!

Go get them, son!

Ohhhh!

-On your claws... -[all roar]

-...get set... -[all roar]

Whoa!

What's he doing? Yummble, you're going the wrong way!

Look out for the jellies!

Mind the slime rink, son!

That's super slippy!

Oh, no, not the pong jump!

Whoa! Whooo!

Yummble, what's the matter?

But, Daddy, I don't want to do the rotten egg and spoon.

I'm really rubbish at racing.

You're not rubbish, you've just gone through a whole obstacle course

and you didn't drop your egg once.

Huh? Maybe I can make you proud after all.

It doesn't matter if you win or lose,

it's the taking part that counts.

[laughs]

Oh, dear, we can't wait any longer for Yummble.

We'd better start the race again with everyone concentrating.

-OK, monsters, on your claws... -[all roar]

...go! -[crowd cheers]

Come on, egg, we can do this! Rawr!

[monsters cheer and laugh]

Come on, Yummble! Whoo!

-Grrr! -Whoa-oh!

-Go get him, son! -Hooray!

Oh! Oh! Eeek.

[laughs] Whoo!

[cheering]

[gasps] I did it!

Rawr!

Well done, Yummble, winner of the rotten egg and spoon.

[others] Hooray!

Yippee!

-Say stinky cheese! -Grrrr!

[narrator] So Yummble did himself proud after all,

and tasted the sweet smell of success.
