When the stars come out And it's night once more
It's time to go to the School of Roars
So wake up, monsters And stretch your paws
Jump up and go to the School of Roars
School of Roars, School of Roars
It's time to go to the School of Roars
School of Roars, School of Roars
You can growl and grow At the School of Roars
School of Roars, School of Roars
It's time to go to The School of Roars!
[all] Rawr!
[narrator] It was another super snufflesome night
at the School Of Roars,
and little monster Wingston was in a bit of a hurry.
-Race you, Wufflebump! -Huh?
Whoo-hoo!
-I win! -Ooh!
Hey! Not fair!
Good roaring, monsters. Raarg!
[monsters] Good roaring, Miss Grizzlesniff.
Raaarg!
-Icklewoo? -She's here!
-Meepa? -She's here, too!
[sighs] Wufflebump?
-He's here! -Yummble?
Him, too!
-And Wingston. -I'm here!
You're very whizzy today, Wingston.
Yes! My hero, Fang Fastwing, won ten medals in the Monster Games!
[monsters] Ooh!
Monster-mazing!
And today, I am Wingston Waftywind, the fastest monster in class.
I see. Well, if you could try to be a little less speedy in class.
Now it's time for monster history.
I've got some dinosaur pictures for you to colour in.
Thank you!
I was going to say, "Help yourselves!"
[monsters] Yay!
Whoo-hoo! Finished.
-I win! -[monsters] Huh?
Oh!
Rawr!
Time for monster maths.
Count the beetle's legs, everyone.
[monsters] Yay!
Er...one, two...
[quickly] One, two, three, four, five, six! Next!
[quickly counts to six repeatedly]
They've all got six legs.
-I win! -Oh.
Er...I think it's time for lunch.
Line up, everyone.
Whoo-hoo! Wingston wins again.
[all groan]
[gasps] Oh, my claws!
Rawr!
Now, monsters, tonight's lesson is all about sports monstership.
[monsters] Oooh!
What's that?
Great sports monsters don't win by thinking of themselves.
They show good sports monstership
and think about their fellow competitors.
Look.
-[monsters gasp] -Take Hairy Herbert, for example.
The greatest rock hurler in the world.
He tumbled all the way down the Growling Hills
to help his teammate Bill Bigfoot,
when he dropped his boulder on his toe.
Ooh, I remember that.
-He was very brave. -He was, indeed.
And what about...Griselda Greatclaw, champion bog jumper?
Ooh! I love her.
Well, she rescued a rival monster
that got stuck in a sludge trench in last year's Boggy Championships.
[monsters] Monster-mazing!
[monsters gasp]
Fang Fastwing!
The fastest sports monster of the century.
-He always wins! -Not always.
Two years ago, Gruff Goldencape beat him fair and square.
Fang took it very graciously, and in a show of good sports monstership,
he presented Gruff with his medal at the end of the race.
Wow!
So, being a good sports monster
is not just about being a good winner,
but also about being a good loser, too.
Now you know how to behave in a race,
I think you're ready to compete for the Goldenclaw Cup!
[monsters] Yay!
Rawr!
Make us proud, monsters.
-On your claws... -[monsters] Raarg!
-...get set... -[monsters] Raarg!
-Go! -[all laugh and cheer]
Go, monsters! Come on!
[giggles]
[gasps] Oh, dear!
Come on, Icklewoo, you can do it.
[both] Yay!
[pants]
Yay, lovely mud!
[both] Raarg! Woo!
-Roll those boulders! -Wahey!
[both pant] Raarg!
-Oh! -Wooah!
[both] Raarg!
Lovely rolling, Yummble.
[both laugh]
[both] Huh? Whoa!
[both grunt]
Whoa, whoa, whoa!
Yay! I can see the finish line from here.
Oh! It's too slippy.
Whoa.
Come on, Wingston. You know what to do.
Oh!
Grab on, Wufflebump.
[both groan]
-[both] Yay! -Thank you, Wingston.
Bravo! Well done, Wingston!
-Whoo-hoo! -Whoo!
-[both] Hooray! -Yay!
Rawr!
Well, I must say, that was a very close race.
But there can only be one winner, and that winner is...
...Wufflebump!
[all] Yay!
-Wufflebump's the winner! -Thanks to you, Wingston.
Oh, congratulations, Wufflebump.
But there is also another monster who deserves a special mention.
Wingston, that was the most sports monsterly behaviour
I have ever seen.
And I have a little surprise for you as a reward.
Rawr!
Monsters, as it happens,
Fang Fastwing is a distant cousin of my husband, Mr Twirlyhorn.
-[all] Ooh! -And here he is!
Good roaring, monsters! Raar!
[monsters] Monster-mazing!
OK, so, which one of you is...Wingston Waftywing?
-[wingston gasps] -Hey, nice catch!
[narrator] So Wingston learned that being a good sports monster
is not all about being a good winner, but being a good loser, too.
-Rawr! -[all] Rawr!
