‐ Tonight, six acts will compete for just two places

in the World Final.

Oxygen, Bailey and Kida,

Keagan Capps, UPeepz, Jake and Chau,

and MDC 3.

This is the first time they've set foot on this stage,

so judges, what are you looking for tonight?

How can they impress you? Jennifer?

‐ They worked really hard to make it to this stage tonight,

and so I think, you know, they all know what they have to do.

They have to bring everything they have,

leave it all out on the floor.

‐ I think by now, everyone knows

that there's a "World of Dance" standard.

There's a $1 million standard.

So what it is that needs to happen on this stage,

I'm pretty sure that they're aware of it,

but we will see in a minute, won't we?

‐ They all deserve to be here, but now,

it's whether or not they deserve to be in the final

where you have a chance to win $1 million.

So semifinals, let's go!

Going into semifinals, I'm super excited.

I've always dreamed of getting to be on this stage.

And so, now that we're finally here,

I just cannot believe it's actually happening.

It's more than just a dream now.

But for the semifinals, I'm bringing a different side

of myself to show the judges because they've already seen

the alien side of me, like Derek likes to say.

‐ I love what Derek wrote here. "Alien."

[laughter]

‐ You're from another planet. ‐ You're not, like, real.

Keagan does things with her body that I don't understand.

‐ Oh.

‐ But she has also a strength about her, a maturity,

a knowingness of her ability

which is just powerful to watch.

‐ For the semifinals, my piece I'm doing is

about a tornado that happened in my hometown,

Moore, Oklahoma, in 2013.

[solemn music]

‐ ♪ I see your light in the dark ♪

‐ I want the judges to feel like I'm pulling them

into, like, the feeling of being in that storm.

It was like a beautiful day outside,

and then, like, out of nowhere,

a tornado just dropped.

Everything was destroyed.

With this performance, I want to honor my hometown

and all of the lives lost

so they know they're not forgotten.

[exciting music]

I think I'm taking a little bit more of a risk for myself.

I have to fight for my life.

So I just really want to honor my home,

and hopefully, that would make me win.

Can you tell the people what this piece was about?

‐ So I'm actually from Moore, Oklahoma,

and every year, we deal with tornadoes.

The most recent one that we had that was very tragic,

literally it dropped, like,

maybe a football field away from my house.

‐ And you guys survived? Your house didn't get touched?

‐ My house was fine,

but there was literally everywhere around it‐‐

‐ Was just gone. ‐ Gone.

It was really scary. ‐ I can imagine.

Well, this piece was really

about being in the eye of the storm then.

‐ Yes. ‐ Yeah.

And that's what it felt like.

It felt like you were the tornado in this one.

I mean you were all over that stage.

And it still surprises me because you are strong

and you are agile, and it is beautiful to watch.

‐ Thank you so much. ‐ Really good job.

‐ I called you my Little Alien 'cause what you can do

with your body is out of this world,

and it makes me go, "Oh, my gosh, what?

What just happened there?"

My only thing with it a little bit was choreographically,

the music is going... [imitates heavy drumbeat]

And I felt like in some moments,

it didn't, like, match up for me.

‐ I will agree with Derek.

There were bits and pieces where the music

and what you were doing didn't completely come together.

‐ But she hit that one beat at the front

that everybody was like, "What?"

‐ No, yeah, for real.

You are an amazing dancer, that was an amazing piece.

as much as I appreciated it,

which is really, really important.

The part that threw me was the bamboo part,

but the things that I've come

to know and appreciate you guys for was all there

It's really about the routine that you do.

For me, it just didn't all come together.

There was moments that I love.

‐ Our biggest note was our chemistry,

and that's always stuck with us.

We're always trying to build trust,

and now we're just with each other every single day.

The chemistry's cooking.

‐ Kida and Bailey have only been dancing together

for a short while, but I feel like the bar is super high.

The level of skill here.

There's no reason that y'all can't build up the type

of chemistry that's needed to potentially go all the way.

So it's gonna be interesting to see

if they'll be able to truly channel that chemistry.

‐ It's important for us to do this performance

so they actually see that we've grown.

We've built a friendship, and I feel like

we have solidified our spot in this competition.

against you a little bit just because it didn't allow

you guys to be as clean and tight as you regularly are.

‐ I have to disagree with Ne‐Yo.

I thought you guys stepping up the game,

showing us some things that you have not done before.

I didn't know you had those backflips in you

off the chair, and that's what you have to do.

You have to take those risks here at the semifinals,

so I appreciate that.

and...intensity

was so much to take in.

what was happening up there from each one of you.

All of you playing such a distinct character‐‐

you two fighting,

two fighters not letting anything get them.

And that love can keep someone alive, so...

are just so stunning in your movement,

in just your ability

to create energy on that dance floor.

When I was watching it, I was grateful
