Stand there.

I'm the daughter of Shen Tingzhang, Shen Lige.

I'm the son of Shen Tingzhang, Shen Feng.

We request to meet with King Peng Cheng.

Your Majesty.

Zhijian hall is for a discussion among the officers.

No woman is allowed to enter without permission.

Concubine Li is making an etiquette mistake.

I'm the daughter of Shen Tingzhang

I've arrested the murderer, Xue Qiu,

who killed my father and brother.

I came here for them.

I request to meet with King Peng Cheng.

Please come in.

Your Majesty.

My father and brother received an order to return to the city.

They were ambushed by the people of Lu.

Xue Qiu is the murderer.

I've arrested him.

He's admitted

that he'd killed my father and brother.

Please investigate it, Your Majesty.

Xue Qiu.

Do you admit your mistake?

I killed Shen Tingzhang and Shen Zhi.

So?

Your Majesty.

It's a deadly sin to kill a loyal officer.

I kindly request

to decapitate Xue Qiu immediately

so that

Shen Tingzhang and his son could rest in peace.

Imperial Secretariat.

Xue Qiu hasn’t done his talking yet.

Why are you so anxious?

Why did you say so, Concubine Li?

I hope that Shen and his son

could rest in peace as well.

Your Majesty.

Lu had been punished.

Xue Qiu was hiding in Jian Kang City.

How did he know

the time my father and brother returned to the city?

Why did my father and brother

go to Weiyang Lake

The Song of Glory

which is five mile away from the route?

The murderer

was the people of Lu.

Episode 44

However, Xue Qiu must be backed by someone

who is in Zhijian Hall.

Xue Qiu.

Now, in front of King Peng Cheng

and all the officers,

please repeat

what you've told me.

Who's the mastermind?

That guy is

King Peng Cheng.

What a nonsense, Xue Qiu.

Before this, you told me that

you wanted to point out...

Concubine Li.

This is Zhijian Hall.

Everyone is watching here.

Are you going to do it without a legal trial?

Lu family was executed.

I wanted to run away

but was caught by King Peng Cheng.

His Majesty gave me a chance.

He said,

if I could kill Shen Tingzhang and his son,

he'd forgive me

and let me

flee from Jian Kang City.

Unfortunately,

you caught me.

You won't let me go.

I'll die no matter how.

So, I chose to tell the truth.

Shen Lige.

Do you think King Peng Cheng

is happy with Shen family?

From the beginning,

he just took advantage of you

and Shen family.

Now, Lu has been executed.

Shen family gained a great achievement.

Wouldn't he be afraid?

Shut up!

This is your plan.

You did it purposely, right?

You can choose not to trust me.

But it's the fact!

Xue Qiu!

Concubine Li.

Your Majesty.

Xue Qiu is the people of Lu.

Please don't trust

what he said.

Minister of Justice.

Just now, you said that

you'd found a new evidence.

What's that?

Your Majesty.

I found a jade

at somewhere near

Weiyang Lake.

Whose jade?

Xue Qiu.

Is it yours?

Does it belong to Shen family?

No.

Your Majesty.

Do you know about it, Military Advisor Cao?

Your Majesty.

Since it doesn't belong to Shen family

or Xue Qiu,

then it must be Xue Qiu's accomplice

who left it.

Military Advisor Cao.

If you know it,

please say it out.

Your Majesty.

It's mine.

What?

Although the jade is mine,

I never went to Weiyang Lake.

Xue Qiu attempted to defame me.

Xu Zhan.

When Shen Tingzhang and his son were being assassinated,

were you at the king's mansion?

If someone can be a witness,

you'll be proven not guilty.

Where did you go? Answer now.

I...

Xu Zhan

is the closest officer of His Majesty.

He does secret mission, of course.

I think, he doesn't need to

tell us

whatever he has done, right?

Just tell the truth.

That day,

His Majesty asked me to buy Bone Cake at the Western

and send it to Shen family.

So, I went to buy Bone Cake for Concubine Li.

What Bone Cake?

We didn't

receive any Bone Cake.

After buying Bone Cake,

I saw a child beggar

being bullied.

So, I helped him.

When I turned back,

the Bone Cake was gone.

Then, I knew that

Shen family was in trouble,

and I wanted to report it to His Majesty immediately.

That's why I forgot about it.

Is there anyone

who witnessed it?

Only...

I met His Majesty only.

So, it means that

you're the witness of yourself.

Xu Zhan is a secret guard.

Why would King Peng Cheng

ask him to buy Bone Cake?

There are so many people in the king's mansion.

Surprisingly, nobody can be a witness.

What a coincidence.

Moreover, Xu Zhan is a kung fu expert.

A thief was able to steal something from him.

Who will

believe it?

Xu Zhan.

I treated you as my brother

at Matou City.

How dare you make

such a nonsense story.

Aren't you afraid that you'll be punished by God?

Your Majesty!

Shen family is loyal to the imperial court.

My father had been involved in wars

for the prosperity of Song.

My sister was married to you

and destined to be with you forever.

This is how

you reward the Shen family?

Shen Feng.

This is Zhijian Hall.

I want to say it

in Zhijian Hall

for Shen family.

My father

was almost 60 years old.

These few years,

he was injured frequently for the North.

In the Battle of North,

to cooperate with King Peng Cheng,

he hid himself secretly

and entered the enemy's site

to gain victory.

Everyone knows that King Peng Cheng

is powerful and good at strategies.

Who will know that my father

and elder brother

almost sacrificed their lives?

General Shen.

Your father and elder brother just passed away.

We are upset of it.

But you can't

simply disrespect the people!

In the Battle of North,

did His Majesty do nothing?

Does the achievement

belong to Shen family only?

You must understand that

His Majesty was the commander in the Battle of North.

Executing orders

is what a soldier and a general should do.

Sister.

Today, I want to express my feeling

of how Shen family being wronged.

Yes.

Your Majesty was the commander in the war.

However, if not because of the delay

of the reinforcement troop of Matou,

would my father and elder brother

be exposed?

Would my father

be caught by the enemy?

Your Majesty.

Was your military order

fair and just?

That's enough!

I trust King Peng Cheng.

Sister.

Your Majesty.

General Shen has just lost his family members.

So, he's emotional now.

He didn't mean what he said.

Come.

Please take General Shen away,

so that he can rest well.

Your Majesty.

My brother's no manners.

That's why he talked nonsense just now.

I beg for forgiveness, Your Majesty and the officers.

Please, General Shen.

I don't believe

what Xue Qiu said just now.

I don't believe it as well.

Xue Qiu.

You said it

to

pit Shen family against King Peng Cheng

and to pit all the officers against King Peng Cheng

for the sake of revenge for Lu Yuan?

This guy's cunning.

Today, if everyone

trusts his nonsense,

then he'd get what he wanted.

I never

attempted to hurt Shen Tingzhang and his son.

The jade

is still a mystery.

If it's like what Xue Qiu said,

where I ordered him to kill

Shen Tingzhang and his son

or instructed Xu Zhan to ambush at Weiyang Lake

to ensure the success of assassination,

I wouldn't

leave such an obvious evidence.

I'd have discussed

with Xu Zhan properly,

so that it wouldn't

have any flaw

that would create doubts.

If there's a mastermind,

since

Xue Qiu has been sacrificed,

he would definitely think of a way

to escape.

Imperial Secretariat.

What do you think?

That's right.

To be honest,

it's many doubts.

Minister of Justice must investigate it properly.

Although the jade belongs to Xu Zhan,

it

can't prove that

Xu Zhan is the murderer

and King Peng Cheng involved in it.

Minister of Justice.

Today, I passed

Xue Qiu to you, Minister of Justice.

I hope that you can investigate it

and prove the innocence of imperial court as soon as possible.

So that my father and brother could rest in peace.

Concubine Li

and all the officers, please don’t worry.

I'm loyal to His Majesty.

I'll do my best.

In future,

if my investigation offends King Peng Cheng,

please forgive me,

Your Majesty.

No problem.

Just do what you should do.

I'm innocent.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Jian Kang City is so beautiful.

Take a look, lady.

The cake is freshly made.

It's yummy.

Give me some.

All right. Please take it.

Lady, this

is the best makeup powder.

Give me one.

All right.

Please take it. Take care.

You're pretty, lady.

If you use our

high-class makeup powder,

you'll definitely look good.

If I buy a box of it,

Brother Shen Feng

will definitely like it.

Give me a box, boss.

All right.

-Thank you. -Come.

Please take it, lady.

Thank you.

Sorry.

You've no manners!

Boss.

Do you know Shen Feng?

Do you mean

the young general of Suiyuan Army, Shen Feng?

Yes. Do you know him?

Yes. Yes.

Can you bring me to see him?

Sure.

No...

What's wrong with you, Xu Zhan?

You couldn't even look after the jade and Bone Cake.

Please think

of where you lost the jade now.

What are you doing?

Apologize to Concubine Li.

No...

Why do you need to apologize?

Please think

of where you lost the jade now.

Xu Zhan.

Fourth Brother.

Today,

Xue Qiu planned for it.

Do you trust me?

I trust you, of course.

But why Xu Zhan's jade

appeared at Weiyang Lake?

Someone

planned the trap.

Unconsciously,

everyone

has been involved in it.

No matter how vigilant Xu Zhan is,

he can't predict the future.

Today,

whatever happened in Zhijian Hall

will spread soon.

Fourth Brother.

What's your plan?

This is the last stage of the trap.

The trap maker's objective

is pretty obvious.

The death of Shen Tingzhang

can reduce of the power of the poor

so that they can't compete with the gentry.

Secondly,

if the mastermind

can't be caught on time

to stop the spread of rumor,

everyone will think that

people who are loyal to the imperial court

will end up losing their lives.

The gentry and the poor

will be afraid of me.

The biggest loser

is the new policy.

However,

finding the mastermind

is not something can be done in a short period of time.

You don't care about it first.

Since you've returned

and you're holding the authority to implement new policy,

you're like my second pair of eyes.

Please monitor

Peng Cheng and Jingzhou.

Yes.

I go and take a look.

Okay.

Fang Yin Pavilion

Please punish me, Concubine Li.

Please punish me, Concubine Li!

Please punish me, Concubine Li!

Please stand up.

His Majesty and Concubine Li didn't punish you.

If I

wasn't so careless,

His Majesty wouldn't

be accused today.

The murderer of General Shen Tingzhang

would have been

punished today.

I deserve punishment.

Please punish me, Concubine Li!

Please punish me, Concubine Li!

You should be punished.

I gave you the jade.

You didn't realize it

after losing it for so many days.

I...

You'll be fined for half-year allowance.

Kneel until nighttime.

You let Xu Zhan

kneel outside?

It wasn't his mistake.

I know.

But if I didn't punish him,

he

wouldn't forgive himself.

Minister of Justice

has arrested Xue Qiu.

Xue Qiu

doesn't mind sacrificing himself.

No matter what,

he won't say anything anymore.

To investigate or not to,

I think the mastermind is...

Xie Hao.

When I found Xue Qiu,

he was being killed

and almost died.

The person in black whom I chased

entered

Xie Hao's mansion.

If Xue Qiu

wasn't working hand in glove with Xie Hao,

would Xie Hao kill him?

I brought him to Zhijian Hall,

so that he'd accuse Xie Hao.

However, I didn't know that

they'd another plan.

Xie Hao claimed himself to be accountable.

However, he's really cunning

and pursues power.

Lu Yuan

was his partner in crime.

Xue Qiu came to the hall

to pit me against Shen family

and the officers.

He saved Sanbao

to

keep himself alive only.

Last time,

he did everything at the back of Lu Yuan.

Now, Lu Yuan has died.

In order to oppose the new policy,

he did whatever he could.

Lige.

We have

a cunning enemy in front of us now.

Before taking any action,

please think twice.

Getting sufficient evidence

before revealing his real identity

is the only way to stabilize the imperial court.

Got it.

However,

your father and elder brother were sacrificed.

Sorry.

Actually,

my dad had known it.

Implementing new policy

will expose Shen family to danger.

However, he'd never

been afraid

or held back.

Fourth Brother, you just have to be firm in the implementation of new policy

to bless the country

and the people,

I believe that my father and elder brother

will be happy of it.

I'll make it.

However, Feng...

Feng's an upright person.

Regarding the incident of father and elder brother,

he can't accept it at the moment.

He was too emotional

until he lost his sanity.

However, I believe that,

he'll calm down

and understand it few days later.

In these few days,

I wish to return to Shen family.

Firstly, I worry about

Feng and mother.

Secondly, staying at Shen family

is convenient for me to investigate the case.

We can't let Xie Hao go.

There must be evidence

to prove his guilt.

Once we have sufficient evidence

to prove his guilt,

then only he can be punished legally

and prove the innocence of imperial court.

Just now, at Zhijian Hall,

you protected and believed me.

I'm really touched.

We're married.

I've to trust you, of course.

However, Fourth Brother,

the implementation

of new policy

will get tougher and more challenging.

It's easy to dodge the spear at Matou,

but it's not easy to identify the threats in the imperial court.

You've to be careful.

No matter how difficult the journey is,

we'll get through it

if we face it together.

Come. Take a seat.

Come. Drink something.

What's wrong?

It's difficult to tell.

It's inexcusable.

It's a challenge given by God.

We're down on our luck.

Come here.

Say it properly.

I've no idea

why Xu Zhan's jade

appeared at

where General Shen and his son got killed.

Moreover, when General Shen and his son

were in trouble,

he wasn't at the king's mansion.

So, no one could prove that

he wasn't related to

the deaths of General Shen and his son.

Both of you

always be together,

right?

Who is always together with him?

So, what did he do on that day?

He bought Bone Cake for His Majesty.

However, coincidentally,

after he bought Bone Cake,

the Bone Cake was stolen.

The thief wasn't found.

How is it possible?

Xu Zhan

is the best secret guard

of His Majesty.

How did he

lose the Bone Cake?

You see.

You don't believe it either.

What? What's wrong?

Go to the Bone Cake stall.

Why?

To search for witnesses.

If the seller

can prove his innocence,

then the case can be solved.

That's right.

Your leg's injured, right?

How can you run so fast?

Join the queue. Queue.

How many do you want?

Stand aside.

You...

What do you want?

Uncle.

We're from the Ministry of Justice.

Mini... Ministry of Justice?

Name?

Chen Sheng.

Age?

37.

How long have you been working here?

Six... Six to seven years.

Six or seven years?

Six... Six... Six... Seven...

Xiao Xin.

We're here to look for witnesses.

Not to interrogate.

Go away.

On 15th last month,

from 1pm to 5pm,

where were you?

I... I was...

Where?

I was here.

You were here?

Yes.

I do business every day.

Police.

What have I done wrong?

Have you ever seen him?

Did he come here on that day?

No.

No?

He... He came.

Yes, he was here.

Great.

Stall operator, Chen Shen, said that Xu Zhan was here.

How?

When did he come?

How did his clothes look like?

How many pieces of Bone Cake did he buy?

Do you remember?

This... It was a few days ago.

You see.

So many people

come here every day.

You... You're making my life difficult.

This...

Who? Who's making your life difficult?

Am I making your life difficult?

Am I making your life difficult?

Who? Who's making your life difficult?

It's fine.

Don't trouble people.

Don't feel upset.

There's a little beggar.

Let me ask him.

Before he stole your Bone Cake,

he must had observed you for a long time.

He'd remember you definitely.

Please be kind to me.

Great.

Go. Go.

Please give me some money.

Please pity me.

You're looking for the beggar, right?

Thank you.

What?

Thank you for trusting me.

Nonsense.

Are you looking for me, sister-in-law?

What's this?

Last night,

you and Lige caught Xue Qiu.

How did you know, sister-in-law?

Both you didn't return last night.

Uncle Zheng has been looking for you the whole night.

I went to King Peng Cheng's mansion just now.

I've known what

happened at Zhijian Hall today.

You always take risk.

Have you ever thought of Shen family?

Don't be angry, sister-in-law.

You too.

Today, at Zhijian Hall,

how dare you talk nonsense

in front of so many officers!

If Lige didn't stop you,

you'd have done something bad.

Minister of Justice found

Xu Zhan's jade at Weiyang Lake.

Today, Xue Qiu

accused King Peng Cheng

of seizing military power of Shen family

as he's afraid of us.

He instructed Xue Qiu

to kill father and elder brother.

The witness and evidence are sufficient.

Sister was tolerant of him.

I couldn't make it.

Feng.

Not everything

you see is true.

You should keep calm

and go through it

to seek

the truth.

What's the truth?

Trust.

I don't know

the politics of imperial court.

I just know that King Peng Cheng

is someone

whom your father, your elder brother

and your sister trust.

If you trust them,

you should have trusted King Peng Cheng as well.

You're so smart.

Can’t you see

the real problem?

You've been blinded.

You should keep calm

and think about it properly.

This was sent from Yun Prefecture.

Uncle Zheng said that you ordered this sword.

I asked someone

to make it in Yun Prefecture

for elder brother.

Please take it, sister-in-law.

If your elder brother was here,

he'd like it very much.

Today,

I'll give this sword to you.

It's a good sword.

It shouldn't be wasted.

Please carry it

like how your brother be with you.

Before you act,

please think twice.

All right. I'm going to visit mother.

Lady. Lady.

Lady.

Please calm down.

Tell me. Where's Shen Feng?

Who are you?

Another one.

Tell me. Where's Shen Feng?

So, you know kung fu.

I was

a major of the old general.

Although I didn't practice for years,

I won't let you

put the knife near my neck.

I tell you.

Don't come here.

I don't want to bully an old folk.

Don't force me.

No nonsense. Watch out.

Why are you biting me?

Let me go.

Let me go.

I'm

General Shen Feng's wife.

What?

Whose wife?

Brother Shen Feng's.

I came Jian Kang City for him.

Please release me.

How dare you bully me!

If he knows it,

he won't forgive you.

Brother Shen Feng!

Brother Shen Feng!

I'm Shen Feng.

You?

How can it be?

Why did you tie me up?

Let me go!

Young master.

She's just a lady.

Do you think that she's a lady?

Let me remind you.

It's a double ring knot.

The more you struggle, the tighter it'll be.

Double ring knot

is also known as trotter knot.

People

use it to tie up pigs.

You all are bullying me.

At North,

I saved the people of Song.

You all said that

Brother Shen Feng would marry me.

Now, you all got someone else to replace him.

You all are bullying me.

What marry? Who is going to marry you?

How can a woman propose marriage?

What's the difference?

No matter what, Brother Shen Feng and I

love each other.

It doesn't matter who proposes marriage.

Who does love you?

Who does love you?

You're so ugly.

Puke!

What did you say?

I said that you're ugly.

Who's ugly?

You.

Dare you say it again?

Feng.

Sister.

Mei Qi?

Why are you here?

Concubine Li.

So, you know her.

Why did you tie her up?

Release her. Hurry up.

What are you doing?

How dare you treat your guest like that.

Are you all right?

Do you feel painful?

Thank you for saving me.

Who are you?

I'll pray to God of Mountain

to bless you.

My name is

Shen Feng.

You're Brother Shen Feng?

You... You this...

This...

You...

You're a girl?

It's a long story.

I'm Shen Lige.

Shen Feng

is actually my brother.

You lied to me.

The situation didn't allow me

to reveal myself.

So, I got no choice

but to cheat you.

I used my brother's name.

I apologize to you.

Sorry.

No wonder the guy

always hugged you.

Tell me about yourself.

Why did you

come to Jian Kang City alone?

You all told me that you...

No... Shen...

No.

You all told me that

you all would get me a husband?

So, I'm here to meet my husband.

Who's your husband?

Did I say you?

I don't want you

even if you're given to me.

All right.

Uncle Zheng.

Get a room

and prepare some food as well as necessities.

Miss Mei Qi came here from far away.

It must be not easy.

All right.

Later,

let's chat again.

Let's go, lady.

Loyalty

Pillar of Loyalty

Sister.

I'm too impulsive.

Shen family and King Peng Cheng

trust each other

for years.

I shouldn't forget

our friendship.

You're worried

at the case of elder brother and father.

I hear you.

However,

as a general,

you should keep calm.

Don't ever do something

that would hurt your family

while satisfying your enemies.

I'm thoughtless.

I'm going

to apologize to King Peng Cheng now.

It's fine.

King Peng Cheng will understand you

since you're a son of someone.

He won't blame you.

I wish to do something

in revenge for the murder of father and elder brother.

What shall I do?

It's not a good timing now.

When it's the time to do it,

I'll let you know.

Now, what you need to do

is to take care of mother

and the family.

For the rest,

count on me.

Trust me.

Sister.

I trust you.

Before we know the truth,

I won't simply do anything.

Great.

Where is Sister Zijin?

Why didn't I see her today?

She's with mother.

At the moment she knew

the incident of father and elder brother,

she looked strong.

She looks calmer

than she did before.

But I know that

she's upset.

I know that

she

is waiting for justice as well.

You can't touch the sword, lady.

Put it down!

Put it down!

Give it to me. Give it to me!

Don't touch this sword anymore!

Why are you so fierce?

It's just a sword.

Do you have to be so fierce?

Brother Shen Feng. That...

Sister.

Look at him.

Don't be angry.

He didn't mean it.

Imperial Secretariat.

Thank you for waiting.

King Peng Cheng's new policy

was claimed to benefit the country and the people.

Yet does it really benefit the country and the people?

The people will decide it.

People?

The people are king.

The country is less important.

However,

the people

support the new policy very much now.

The new policy

benefits the people.

If the people oppose it,

how will King Peng Cheng be?

Why would the people oppose it?

Oh yes.

I'm free recently.

So, I drew something.

Let me take it out

for you all to see.

Imperial Secretariat.

It's critical now.

We aren't in a mood to see it.

Lu Guang.

Yes.

You all

are seniors.

Please express your opinions.

Vice Minister of Defence.

You know about painting, right?

Say something.

How's the painting?

I think that

this painting

has powerful strokes

and looks magnificent.

It's an excellent artwork.

What about the content?

The painting shows

downpour.

Downpour.

Landslide.

All boats can't move.

According to the Five Elements,

Song is water.

Landslide and flood

mean unfortunate.

The country will have upheaval and chaos.

Since

the downpour of new policy

has happened,

the gentry

is like the mountain here,

where it can use its power

to destroy the rivers.

Chen Commandery. Jingzhou.

Jingzhou. Peng Cheng.

At 11pm on 28th,

Chen Commandery.

Peng Cheng.

Jingzhou.

Burn the farms

and create chaos.

We want the people know that

this new policy

won't benefit the country and the people.

Moreover, it'll hurt the people

and the country.

Creating chaos

is a significant event.

We'll lose our lives if it's not properly done.

How?

You all asked me to think of a way.

I got it

but you all dare not to do it.

The current situation

is obvious.

Although it hurts us,

it'll benefit us in the long run.

I believe that

Xie Hao

this event

will destroy the new policy.

We'll follow you, Imperial Secretariat.

Are you sure?

No regret after signing it.

We stay together

through thick and thin.

If someone regrets

and gets caught,

he'll be punished.

I hope everyone here will work together

to protect Song.
